Surprisingly Well-Appointed”
This was my first time to book a hotel room in the heart of Malate. I looked for one that is affordable (since it's just a 1-night stay and all I really needed was a dress-up room for a wedding that I attended the following day) but had good reviews. Plus, one of my most basic requirements/ expectations is a CLEAN ROOM - with clean beddings and clean bathroom. And, Amelie Hotel Manila definitely delivered these. The only down-sides: The coarse (not fluffy) towels and the loud music from a nearby hotel that seeped through the windows. But, given that I stayed solo and didn't want "eerie" silence throughout the night, I consider it as a minor concern. =)

Excellent hospitality . Spacious room. Friendly Staff”
Amelie Hotel is all you need when travelling to Old Manila. Just walking distance to Robinsons Place Mall (second largest in Philippines), and all kind of restaurants just nearby the hotel (Korean, Japanese, Philippines, halal food, arabic and persian, even McDonalds and Starbucks). The rooms are spacious. Large enough for 4 peoples. But you need to ask for iron and its board if you want it. Their cute swimming pool with stunning scenary of manila city, and gymnasium completed with 2 treadmills and few equipments are good enough for biceps, triceps, lat, chest and shoulder exercise. However, it’s only open at 7.00 am to 9.00 pm. As i told one of their friendly staff, Je-an that the management should consider to open the gym at least by 4.30 am since guest with business need to check out earlier at 7.00 am. After all, we were satisfied with the rooms, facilities and hospitality given by their staff. Oh, careful when you order breakfast, they took 30 mins just to prepare american bfast.

Great Hotel”
I had a wonderful stay at the Amelie Manila, even when I got sick from eating at another restaurant. The staff was attentive and very helpful. For example, they provided me with extra complementary bottled water when I got sick. Because the hotel is relatively new, everything is in good shape. I like the modern look to the room design and the mattress was firm but comfortable. The room came with a complete set of amenities, including a shaving kit, and tooth brush and paste. The one slight negative was that the roof-top pool was so small I didn't bother to use it. The real bright spot was the breakfast buffet which was included in the price of my room. It had a wide variety of both Asian and American foods, so there was something for anyone's tastes. I especially liked their pancakes. They also switched some of the items each day so I never got bored eating there. The hotel is only about a block from the Richardson Mall. And the area was safe enough to make the walk there at night, although if you are a first-time American visitor it might seem little intimidating. I plan on staying here again the next time I am in Manila.

A gem of a hotel”
Amelie Hotel is in a convenient location if you want to be near Intramuros or the area in general. Also, Robinson's Mall is about a two-minute walk down the street. When traveling with kids, please note this is located near Manila city center, so there are women out at night soliciting. If you want to avoid this, choose a hotel in a more modern location. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the facilities themselves were fantastic. The pool is small but is awesome--it's on the rooftop and has a great view. Next to the pool is a fitness room which holds two treadmills, two weight benches, a thorough set of free weights, plus a universal resistance machine--all in great condition and very clean. It had it's own aircon and was stocked with towels and bottled water. Our room was clean and perfect size (had two queen beds), no funky smells or anything like that. Beware of the elevator--you'll get stuck in there if you forget your key card, haha!

Perfect ”
As a female solo traveller it was wonderful to feel so save in and around the Amelie Hotel. A few minutes walk to Robinson Mall and a casual stroll to Rizal Park and Instramous it was in the perfect location. The fact that the locals say if falls within the 'red light district' was not overwhelmingly obvious until places like Bangkok and by sticking to well lit streets I felt safe no matter the hour I was walking back to the hotel. The staff were beyond helpful and went out of their way to accomodate any needs. The room was spacious and clean and even with the noise from the street until the wee hours I was able to sleep like a queen in the ridiculously soft bed. The pool and gym were imaculately clean and I often had the whole sun deck to myself. I couldn't be happy and would happily stay again...in fact I wish my stay was longer.

Great hotel in an excellent location”
Loved the Amelie hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice with different choices. The location in Manila is excellent for tourist attractions - plenty of places to choose from for both meals and drinks. People in Manila are super friendly.

Little hidden gem !!”
It was a surprise to find this hotel. We really enjoyed staying here, The upper floor rooms have cool views through the Malate and Ermita areas, The rooms were all non smoking, but when I saw there was a big window. that was locked, I called the reception and the staff member came to the room and unlocked the window. so I could open it stick my head out smoke and watch the Manila life go on. Thought that was wonderful ha ha. They have a really nice quaint restaurant, I would use this hotel again, great value for money, and its a stones throw from Robinson Mall.

It was fantastic!! Staff were helpful and friendly. Superb value for money!”
We originally booked an over night stay at the hotel over the road. The other hotel was disgusting. We looked out the window and saw this hotel shining in the light!! After spending two hours in an airport we just wanted somewhere nice to sleep. We booked online and went over to Amelie. They were friendly and charming. The room was fantastic. We ordered room service which was great as well!! I recommend the Oreo milkshake! Great place! If you get a chance to stay here do so!

Great hotel”
This hotel is really great in almost every way. Great staff, facilities. The only downside is the noise. I have read many reviews that stated noise to be a problem and then found it to be a total non-issue. This hotel however sits across the street from a open air plaza full of bars and blasting techno music that thumps nonstop until 3 am every night. I'm not a light sleeper and was keeping late night hours myself so it wasn't a big deal to me, but I could definitely see it driving some insane. perhaps if you request a room not facing the street it may be better but I would truly only recommend this hotel for people looking to party.

Great Stay!”
I had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at the Amelie. The room was great with adequate amenities; restaurant food was great except that breakfast needs more variety. The staff made my stay better. I'd definitely consider staying again if the standards remain!

Attentive Staff”
Where having a problem with the noise outside the party street near the hotel and we ask the front office to change our room, we are lucky that on the next day we transfered to the same room where we check in last year. I just so love the room, the big comfort room, and I see improvement on the breakfast. I just notice that their rooftop pool was so dead, should have groovy music, alive and cocktails. Definitely will stay again on our next trip in Manila. #Room609

Great stay!”
Hotel was clean, roomy, staff were very nice and place was convenient, only 3 minutes walk to Robinson's. Fast wifi and cold Aircon! Cons - transparent shower room so only 1 person can use toilet or shower, swimming pool is tiny and room a bit pricey. Overall had a nice time and will stay again if I'm in Manila.

Black in black”
The Hotel is new, but the design is very very dark. If you enter the reseption it is everything black in black, the wall behind is black, the uniform of the staff is black, in the first moment you see only floating heads of the reseption staff.... The room is also very dark, dark floor, black cabinets, black curtain, black headboard only the sealing over the bed is in a dark blood red. Also the bathroom..... everything black, even all the switches or power outlets are black. The first what I'm doing if I enter the room was to open the curtains, otherwise I'm getting depresiv. You really get the feeling the owner or the designer have a broken heart, even in the elevator is a picture from a men holding a broken heart with the titel Amelie..... The name of the Hotel.

Shame about the wifi”
Overall a pleasant hotel.... But the wifi was frustrating to say the least.... If you didn’t use the wifi for a few minutes it would drop out....and you have to sign in again Also ...they claim you can use 3 devices...but when you try to connect the 3rd device...it says you have reached your limit... However ...the staff were very pleasant...and the location in Malate was good

Safe Choice”
Many hotels in immediate vicinity, and many we suspect are much cheaper than the Amelie, but we'd stay here again rather than risk an uncomfortable or unpleasant night trying to save a few pesos in this neighborhood. Room style is minimalist modern and size is barely good for a couple, though sleeping conditions good on the quiet side of the building, that is if you don't get an adjoining room occupied by a korean and his barfine. Also, note the larger-type, more expemsive rooms are unfortunately situated next to the elevator. There's a smallish restaurant, and little else in the hotel. Staff appears to be professionally trained, but extremely disinterested: be sure to remind yourself to ask for your cash deposit back, in case staff 'forgets' to refund it to you.

Thank you very much for staying with us and for sharing your thoughts about the hotel. While we are happy that you feel safe with us, we are quite concerned about staffs attitude and the non-return the refund unless reminded. Rest assured that we will address this matter immediately with our people. We appreciate that you have brought the matter to our attention. We hope to see you again when in Manila.
Going Downhill!”
I've stayed at the Amelie 6 times in the past year and have found it to be a good value for quality accommodations. I also have found that both the quality of service and facilities has deteriorated each time. Had a bad experience this past stay of 4 nights, in which on checkout I was told that I would be required to pay for 3 hand towels and 4 bath towels due to them being blood stained. I was the only person in my room, the only person to use these towels and I never bled in any way shape of form. The cost was almost 3000php which in my opinion is outright theft. I was not given the option of seeing the supposedly damaged towels. As I waited for the checkout process to be complete I overheard the other desk clerk telling the same towel crap to a Korean gentleman. This is an unacceptable practice and I can assure you that this was my last stay at the Amelie.
