great views of the sea - East side of Jeju island”

stayed here during my first 2 nights in Jeju. you MUST rent a car, because it is located right in front of the sea, far away from bus-stops/taxi stands. carpark right in front of hotel - free random parking in jeju everwhere. hotel is pretty secluded, so you will enjoy it if you like quiet surroundings. every room faces the ocean - the view from the room is gorgeous - sunrise peak (seongsan ilchulbong) is on the far right so you can enjoy the sunrise from your balcony. breakfast was so-so. nearest town is about 5mins drive away, where they serve delicious seafood + bbq black pork (ask reception for recommendations). receptionists are probably the owners as well - a couple (wife named Kelly) + baby son. speaks minimal english but helpful, approachable nonetheless. we booked a room for 3ppl: 1 single bed + 1 queen sized bed. mattress was clean. has a small kitchen area with a table forming a partition between kitchen and living area. floor is non-carpeted. no slippers provided. main reason why i chose this hotel was because i wanted to go those attractions in the East. ~8min drive to Seongsan Ilchulbong ~15min drive to Seopjikoji coast ~30min drive to Manjanggul only downside is - faraway from the 2 bigger cities in Jeju: Jeju-si and Seogwipo most tourist attractions are in South of Jeju (Seogwipo + Jungmun), hence driving to these areas will take about ~1.5hrs overall, a pleasant stay at Areumdaun Resort.

Sea View, Spacious Room & Friendly Staff”

I reckon a hotel with reviews from many Singaporeans, must be good. And truly, it was not a disappointment. The hotel room was clean, very super spacious, amazing sea view with more than enough amenities. Breakfast was also provided, we did not expect much of it but it was pleasantly good. Staff were friendly, though speaks little English but were very approachable. To that, I must thank E.J the friendly front desk staff who listens to our needs and helped us to get an adapter. Many thanks to E.J and Areumdaun Resort, truly a great place to stay. :)

New and comfortable hotel near sunrise peak”

Areumdaun resort is the resort to stay at if you plan to hike up Seongsan Illchulbong to catch the sunrise and to explore the nearby Udo island. The resort is still relatively new and the rooms are large and well-equipped. The staff are also attentive and responsive.

Areumdaun Resort aka Beautiful Resort”

It was an awesome stay at Areumdaun Resort. The staff is really friendly and helpful. A variety of breakfast spread - buffet style that is prepared with care. It is just a 7 minute drive to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and a 10 minute drive to the famous Seopjikoji where the drama All In starring Lee Byeon Heon and Song Hye Kyo was filmed. The scenery there is breathtaking.

it's comfortable to live here”

it is very cozy to live here,however it is far away from the airport about 50 kilometers,while it is convinient to call a taxi,and it's nearby the sunrise resort and u-do island. the staff of the hotel is very frendilly and good at english. maybe it's more suitable for the passangers with a car,next time i will aslo choose this hotel in jeju

Excellent place! Large room! Sea View”

We booked 2 Single Twin with Ocean View. The view from our balcony was perfect! it was only a 5mins drive to Seongsan Iichulbong Peak. Do wake up earlier to catch the sunrise, it worth the trip. The hotel have the sunrise timing at their reception. One of our best stays in Jeju!

Very nice Sea view”

strongly recommend ocean view rooms. Can see sunrise excatly from the Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak in the morning. Simply put the camera on tripod in the balcony, very good sunrise photo can be taken. Good for self-drive tour. Seems no public transport. Big carpark provided. Rooms very clean, and very big. very good feeling in the rooms.

Worth of money”

This is our first time staying in this resort. It is accessible and easy to find if you are driving in Jeju or rented a car. The resort located near to the Seongsan Ilchulbong and Seongsan Port. You can have the best view from the room. The room was spacious and it has a basic kitchenette which you can use.

We enjoyed the hotel very much!”

The hotel exprience at the Aremdaun was quite pleasant. The room was comfortable and well appointed, and we loved sitting on the veranda looking out at the water. It was quiet and comfortable there, and well located for many different activities. The desk staff was always ready to help us with advice (in good English), call cabs for us, etc. Although the breakfast was a bit limited, that was not much of a drawback. I would not hesitate to recommend the Aremdaun to others. I would recommend that travelers have a car; taxis were readily available, and the city bus was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, but having a car would have made enjoying the wonders of Jeju-do that much easier. There were several very good restaurants within a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

New, Clean, Nearby Hotspot”

Chose this hotel because we planed to go Seongsan Sunrise Peak for sunrise. It's around 15mins driving distance and lots of restaurant available with 5 or 10mins driving. We tried seafood hotpot, seafood pancake and abalone porridge there and it was our best meal in Jeju. Kitchen is very clean and looks new. It will be better if hotel can provide bigger bath towel.

Nice place, apartment-ish, hotel-ish”

The most important thing is that this hotel is not accessible by public transport. This is not an issue if you rent a vehicle, as GPS is pretty good, and it's easy to locate. It's really nice Sunrise Peak, about 15 mins drive, which we appreciated because we didn't have to wake up super early to try to catch the sunrise. It was cloudy that day though, but that's not the hotel's fault. What is a weakness of the hotel is that somehow in planning, it neglected to design storage space in the hotel room, so although there is a kitchenette, you can't actually unpack your luggage and are forced to live out of your bags. Also, as "condominium-style" accommodation, there is no housekeeping. Towels are changed and trash emptied once every two days. Also, reception closes at 10 and opens at 7 or 8. We were unaware of this and arrived at 10:30, but fortunately the very kind staff stayed behind and waited for us. Definitely a good stay, I wouldn't hesitate to return, although it is a good idea to stay at more than just here on a vacation to Jeju, as it is quite a distance to the west side of the island.

Spacious room with good view”

I am highly recommend this hotel if you have a car. It takes around 8 mins to the Seongsan mountain. Their room are spacious and new, all facing the sea and can see the sunrise. Reception will show the sunrise time everyday. They have breakfast buffet but I haven't tried. Kitchen equipments are well prepared. We tried a local pork BBQ restaurant recommended by hotel staff, which is cheap and nice, just 5 mins drive from hotel. If i go to seongsan area, will choose this again definitly.

Good morning. The good and the bad. I am right on the water. Even the locals - two of my friends who drove me down from a cafe further up the island - were impressed with the location. The hotel itself doesn’t operate its restaurant but there are restaurants and cafe along the sea road. Also, the room is definitely as advertised. Big and spacious, clean, large tv, fully stocked. The bad... this place is so freakin far away. Really difficult to get to solely by bus. You have to take a taxi. There’s no place to work inside the room. Like, no desk. I sat at the kitchen counter but it was too uncomfortable to be there for long

A relaxing resort with a sea view”

Resort was a 5 mins drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong but there is absolutely no other attractions nearby. However, resort was really relaxing and all rooms had sea view. About 3 mins walk away from the resort was a cafe/restaurant where they have this cheap and delicious seafood hotpot noodle. There is no convenience store and bus stop nearby so one will have to drive to get to the resort. However, the sea view is terrific and I took the opportunity to stroll along the mini-beach next to the resort. They served breakfast as well with ham, eggs, korean porridge and toast. There are also ample parking lots available. I will recommend this resort for honeymooners for just want a quiet time away from the city..

Friendly reception staff and Big room”

Reception staff were very friendly and gave us jeju mandarin oranges and a big bottle of mineral water upon check-in. Room was big and spacious with cooking facilities e.g. electric stove, mircowave oven, etc. However, we are concerned about the security as there seems like no guard working at night. Corridor and main lobby lights were switched off when we left the hotel at 5.30am to catch the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong.

Everything gd except location”

We checked-in after 10pm and was surprised to see our room card left on the counter with our names on it, without any staff attending to it. The reception closed at 10pm. They did not even try to inform us that they will leave our room cards openly at the counter. Brkfast was delicious, but was the same throughout the 3 mornings. Location is near seongsan ilchubong and seopjikoji, but far from everywhere else. If u are driving to this hotel, the road nearby is very badly-lited and dangerous after the sun sets. Room was spacious n clean though. Quite comfortable overall.

Definitely worth it”

Resort is not located near the airport, about an hour & a half drive. Room is well-quipped & looked pretty new (two comfy large beds, mini bar, variety of TV channels & a spacious toilet). Room cleanliness is acceptable. Variety for breakfast is limited, food selection is always the same. There's a mini mart & eateries nearby. The awesome thing is having our room facing the sea. The sea-view & breeze just soothes one's heart. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, look no further. This is it!

Nice resort facing the ocean!”

Arendaum was a resort in the East of Jeju Island and very near to a seongsan Illchubong. We really like the location of the resort as we wanna relax, but please be prepared for long journey from airport. It took us around 1 hour 15 minutes. It's amazing to wake up with scenic sunrise views but what we can't comprehend is the breakfast. The breakfast is way to simple and most of the time, the food were cold. We stayed here for 2 nights and on both days, the food selection were the same. Not very impressed with the food. Room cleanliness is also not there as we found the toilet floor dusty. Because this is a resort, the reception is only open till 10 p.m. Overall, if you want to get away from the city and live near a seongsan, this is an OK place to stay. Otherwise, there's really nothing much to do at night.

Quiet and nice beach view. Close to attractions”

Very nice beach view. If weather is good, can see sunrise and sunset at balcony. The room is new, clean and big. Not far away to the harbor and Sunrise mountain so it's a good place to stay if plan to spend more time on U-Do island and sunrise mountain. Luggage keeping service after checking out. Bit far away from bus stop and hard to get a taxi near the hotel, so better to rent a car. If walking, ~35min along the beach to the nearest bus stop (easy to get taxi/bus back to city there); walk ~20min more can reach the harbor or Sunrise mountain. Bit far away from restaurants and convenient stores, so better eat and buy things near Sunrise mountain. Need to prepare adapter.
