Nature Retreat”

We decided to visit Belum Rainforest Resort after Hari Raya just before returning back to work. On arrival, the check in was smooth, despite previous reviews saying that the staff was inefficient. This maybe due to midweek stay. We booked 2 rooms, one is a superior room and the other one is the garden suite. The superior room is spacious, lined with wooden floor and very clean. It comes with refrigerator but surprisingly no television. I expect with the price that we paid for, television should be a standard but this was not the case. The bed is of good super king size but the mattress unfortunately is very hard. The garden suite is more spacious, equipped with refrigerator and television. The floor however, was only cement. This maybe to create some rustic finishing to the room but I think a wooden floor would be better. The bath tub is located at the outside with a blind that you could pull down, certainly a nice concept but I think, a mosquito net should be installed as well to safeguard the occupants. Staff were particularly helpful, as they have no problem sending a buggy to collect us to and from our room to restaurant for breakfast due to the distance. Breakfast was plentiful however the food quality could definitely be improved. After breakfast, one of the staff even offered us for a buggy tour around the resort. Swimming pool was nice and of decent size. We did not have any time to sample any of the outdoor activity. Overall, we are happy with our stay there and I think the staff there has to be commended for their effort and hospitality. We will definitely return again.

Beautiful eco-resort in the middle of the lake”

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Belum Rainforest Resort. It is a very peaceful environment, in Banding island, in the middle of the man-made lake. The rooms were beautifully designed and combined modern comfort with the nature in very subtle ways. The rooms were really comfortable too, good shower (with rain shower optional), king size bed, and as I traveled with my elderly parents, I had a mattress for myself on the floor which was added to the room. For food, there isn't really much of a choice, buffet breakfast and buffet dinner at the resort are the only options in the vicinity. For lunch, if you are not doing a day activity, there is a restaurant overlooking the lake which serves a simple fare, western or local and lovely non-alcoholic refreshing cocktails. Can't wait to come back there again! The only problem is to get there and away, you will need your own transport. Best to arrange it in advance if you don't have your own vehicle.

Gateway to Nature!”

Belum Rainforest Resort is one of the best weekend getaway. The location is beautiful, rooms are very nice and the staff is among the best we have experienced. We got a free upgrade and despite 96% occupancy and shortage of staff during the long weekend all the staff were clam, composed,always smiling and willing to help. We also saw staff from other departments like the IT help out their F &B colleagues during the peak hours....I think that was a great team spirit and we were totally impressed. Kudos to the Team at Belum Rain Forest Resort. Please keep up the spirit!!! and see you again.

Worth your money”

We purposedly travel from Johor Bahru to Belum Rainforest Resort. The place is well maintained. Took a room without breakfast and enjoyed our breakfast near jetty at Pulau Banding. View of Temenggor Lake was breathtaking even haze. Worth it!

Relaxing holiday”

Pleasant stay, spacious rooms, beds were hard but still comfortable, nice decor, surrounded by nature. The swimming pool was small but had a really pleasant water temperature and ideal depth. TV showed local, movie and sport channels. Wifi only at the restaurant but very fast connection. We went on the Discover Belum excursion with our tour guide Falah, which was amazing! He also recommended us to drive along the Highway at night to look for elephants, and we found exactly that- a herd of elephants (with a baby) at the side of the road! Another staff member suggested restaurants in Gerik and the main jetty which were also excellent, and yet another recommended stopping at the titi wangsa rest area where we found possibly the best views of the rainforest while enjoying a delicious hot chocolate. Loved the place, would come back again for a good mix of relaxation and adventure.

An Outstanding Resort for Nature Lovers”

The room is spacious but cosy at the same time. There is no TV in the room but my children enjoyed playing congkak instead. Board games and congkak are available for loan at the lobby. This resort is suitable for nature lovers and those who just want to get away from the city lights. The breathtaking Belum Rainforest and Temenggor Lake are right on the door step. Friendly staff and commendable nature guides. Be sure not to miss the nature trips organized by the resort. A relaxing, educational and experiential stay.

Lovely hotel with the nature”

It was a great trip at Belum Rainforest resort, room were fantastic for nature lover. Very cold air conditioning, however room is built too close to the highway arising traffic noise. Lake view were also blocked by the tree sadly. But the hiking trial were remarkable, although package fees were quite expensive but the resort provide proper and friendly guide all the way. Although were just 2 of us, there were 3 guides bring us along the trail to Sg Enam waterfall. Water at the waterfall were freezing cold, trail were moderate tough. But the natural level along the trail were great. Zero polution and no rubbish at all. Friendly advise to wear a long pants while hiking, get stung by a bee T.T

Memorable”

The resort is clean and beautiful. However beware of monkey. Breakfast not so good, we're going out and had breakfast near belum discovery centre the next day and the food there was OUTSTANDING! Ordered dinner to delivered to our room and it was so DELICIOUS!! Jungle trekking, visiting orang asli, waterfall bathing, bamboo rafting, rafflesia searching and visiting empangan belum-temenggor is some of the activitiy around this resort. however you need to apply for permit in advance (3days) if you plan to go jungle trekking.

the best place to relax”

the hotel designed to give you the feeling that you are living in a rainforest, the rooms are very clean and wide enough, the stuff serves with smile, the location is very nice for running away from the Pressures of life but it is not surrounded by any Services because it is located in a rainforest where the nearest city is 40 km away. What i don`t like: the packages prices which is very high, the restaurant which need to improve, some of the stuff can only speak the local language

Starry sky that worths millions dollar and wonderful rainforest”

Secluded rainforest and starry sky at night are the best two things about Belum Rainforest. Other than that, the resort facilities are quite well designated too.

Living with Nature”

Resort location was good. It has nice settings. Restaurants reasonably priced considering it is at least a 4star resort. What was interesting was the closeness to nature and during our stay we took the Temenggor Dam nature trip. Surprisingly it was adventure and educational for us . If time permits I intend to explore the Royal Belum exploration next time

A break from KL's noise ”

Enjoyed our short break at Belum Rainforest Resort. Very pleasant service at the front of house and by the housekeeping team. We skipped the buffet. Therefore I can't comment on the buffet. Had dinner at Sidai Restaurant and we truly enjoy the simple Western dishes that we had. Cooked with love, I must say. Woke up late & missed the breakfast buffet. Had lunch at Hornbill Restaurant and once again the meal was yummy and well presented. Will visit again.

wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff”

We loved it. The room was just delicious, facing the lake and the luscious vegetation surrounding it. We wanted tranquility and we got it. The staff was so friendly, I can't praise them all enough, mostly at the restaurant, where we were always received with prompt courtesy and genuine smiles. We recommend the Belum Rainforest highly. It's an enchanting place.

nice but could be better”

The hotel is nice. Staff very friendly but reception staff could do better. Food was okay. Reasonably priced. Not a huge spread but adequate. The treks offered are awesome. Ask for mr omar the guide. He is really good. We were lucky as we managed to see the rafflesia flower. Rooms very clean. Pool was nice. Theres a spa with really good massages. For lunch or dinner you can always go to gerik town. We actually saw an elephant beside the road. Do not go to this place only to relax in the hotel. This place is for those who want to go for the treks...and come back for some 4 star comfort. Book all tours in advance. The reception staff are really blur about things. We lost out on the good treks because of their inefficience. But still worth going.

Back to nature”

getting to belum rainforest resort at night is no easy task, that's what happen to us. we arrived around 8.30pm after a 7 hours drive (due to 2 hours traffic jam at certain stretch of road) from kt to here going through up and down hills road. upon arrived at reception lobby, the front desk told us where is our actual room by showing a tiny map. when we drive up to search for our rooms, nowhere to be found because since it's dark and it's our first time visit. we ended up at their staff quarters area, where another foreigner staff with a buggy car named "shazzan or shazzad" (cant recall his actual name) helped us to find where our room is and provide us a parking spot next to the restaurant, from here he escorted us to our rooms and help with our luggages, i tipped him well for his help. we booked 2 deluxe rooms, one with king size bed and the other with 2 single beds. we added extra beds too. the whole rooms are very comfortable with their ambient design based from nature feel. the bathroom equipped with basic amenities and rain shower system. the wardrobe doors are accessible from inside bathroom and the bedroom itself, means the wardrobe door cannot be locked. so privacy is an issue here if you stay together with different people. the given blanket for the extra bed is like a piece of thin cloth, comes at night, it's very cold in the room and when raining it's even colder. i assume the temperature falls to 15 to 16 celsius. wifi is only available at restaurant or the lobby. there is no tv in the room, and no swimming pool. activities available within the resort such as trekking,temengor walk and canoeing etc. but the drawback is the price per person which is overcharged. imagine a group of 8 peoples will cost up to 1k easily if participate in one of the activities. there is a herbal garden behind the rooms where you can walk around. scenery of the lake around the hotel can be found at the tor tambra restaurant. food served are

Perfect Stay”

The price is slightly expensive but I assured that it will be a perfect night, the room are very clean and everything is in good conditions. The facilities are very good too and trust me, you will be super relax over there with great peace, but of course there will be still some vehicle noise there as the main road is just beside. This is definitely a great stay for us and we really enjoy a lot, the services is also very good and one more highlights, there food didn't disappointed us at all. As you all know, there are a lot of resort where there food are really not that good, but this resort really did it very well. Definitely will come back again for the peacefulness and everything! Thumbs up for this resort!

A Hidden Gem”

A short getaway for my wife and me during Hari Raya. We both love the architecture and design, exterior and interior, of the Lake View Deluxe Suite we chose. The room was well appointed, minimalistic yet classy and a very relaxing space to spend the holidays. The staff were generally well trained, friendly and efficient despite the fact that they had to be on duty during Hari Raya. We will totally recommend it. A few aspects, though, could be improved: 1. the recreational activities (we took Discover Belum package) not that organised in terms of briefing to participants and punctuality. There were a few incidents (even an explosion) during the boat rides. Better safety practice in terms of refuelling should be put in place. 2. Enjoyed the food but the spread of buffet breakfast was limited. Choices on menu for other meals can also be increased. 3. The toilet bowl and the glass panel of the shower cubicle is too near, easy to knock one's head. Please mark/line the glass with stickers.

Raffles flower, no luck to visit”

It located middle of the lake, hence it call Banting island. believe most of the tourist stay there because of Raffles flower, me too. It is their selling point on top of others. However end up a disappointment due to flower blooming season has gone, we came not in right time. We did write an email to clarify before we depart, however no respond from the resort. We don’t mind to adjust our schedule if they reply honestly, at least visitor won’t cancel the room and won’t feel cheated in the end. Kindly give a call if Raffles flower is your travel purpose. Furthermore the room rate is not cheap, please make thru Agoda with reasonable rate compare with walk-in or others. The cheapest room is close to main road, is very noise due to trucks passing thru the whole night, I didn’t sleep well although the room is comfortable and the bed is big enough. Other rooms close to the lake site will be ideally stay, however that will be luxury price. Besides Raffles flower, the resorts do provide many activities, the swimming pool looks attractive. I went to spice garden, end up mosquito attacked, please prepare mosquito repellent.
