Great place Amazing Service”
We just checked out of the Shewe Wana and wanted to leave a positive review to share our experience. I don't often write reviews, but feel obligated as we really enjoyed our stay here. Highlights - the service is top-notch. Really, the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Very attentive. The shuttle is great. The breakfast is very good. It includes hot, cook-to-order and cold options. Also, they will serve coffee, cappuchinos, etc from their coffee shop next week. About the food, we found it very good also. During our stays in hotel, we rarely eat at the resort. Either the food is so-so, or the cost is too high. At Shewe Wana, the food is excellent and the price is very similar to other restaurants. We had all breaksfast, a couple lunches and a dinner there. About the facilities, generally its pretty good. The rooms feel a bit older, which in some ways is charming, as they have a lot of wood details. Many thanks to the staff for a wonderful stay!

Oasis in the City”
We had 8 wonderful days in Chiang Mai at the Shewe Wana. The resort is set in beautiful gardens a short distance from the busy city centre. We couldn't have walked it but tuk tuk's and song teows are always available just outside the door and the staff will arrange for them to take you where you want to go. The rooms were cleaned every day and nothing was too much trouble for the staff whether at the front reception, in the dining room, spa or your room. The resort has it's own tuk tuk that will take you into the city to the markets in the evening. The spa although more expensive than a massage shop on the street is exceptional and a wonderful treat and highly recommended. The restaurant serves delicious Thai and western meals at very reasonable prices. The owner Khun Joy is a delightful hostess and made us feel right at home. We did day trips from the resort and were picked up at the door and delivered home after a full day of exciting adventures. We will be back!

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
we had a great stay at the shewe wana! a peacefull and quiet location in the middle of chiang mai. the rooms are very spacious and always clean. the tropical plants and flowers and the tasteful colonial style make the environment of this hotel particularly cosy. i had a great experience at the hotel spa as well. employees are very competent and always very friendly. the continental breakfast offers a good choice of fruits, drinks, homemade jams and omelettes. we would definitely come back! the old city center is a bit further away but in walking distance and the animated night bazaar is just around the corner with a lot of restaurants and night activities.

Excellent stay! An oasis in the city!”
The staff was amazing! I’ve booked a Family suite and they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite for free. It was great, the room is beautiful, the little pond in front of the room and all the gardens made us feel like we weren’t in the city, it was so nice! The hotel is not far from the old city and they provide transportation to the night bazar. For us the location was great, specially because we went to the Bangkok Hospital and the hotel provided a van to take us there. The kids loved the 2 swimming pools. Breakfast was great, all kinds of eggs were amazing! They served us even though we were too late for breakfast. They also provide breakfast in room for the suite. They gave us a late check out for free. The staff went out of their way to make us happy! Everything was great! We are a family of 6, with two small babies and we all had a very pleasant time there. We loved our stay at Shewe Wana.

Staff are super nice and helpful”
We had 3 families stayed in Shewe Wana for 3 nights. All the staff there were very nice, helpful and caring. They tried their best to serve us and care for our needs. We had a very good time in the hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet area with a lot of green areas, and within 10 mins walk to the riverside. It provides free hotel shuttle to Tha Phae gate and Night Bazaar. The rooms are spacious, clean with very big balcony. We will definitely stay again if we visit Chiangmai next time.

Wonderful stay”
We loved our stay at Shewe Wana. The staff were exceptional, rooms very spacious and immaculately clean and beds comfortable. The grounds were quiet and beautiful with all their well kept gardens. The breakfast had many fresh cooked options as well as a buffet to choose from. Location was 20 minute walk to the night market and further to old town but the hotel offers an hourly free shuttle to those locations. We used local, inexpensive red truck transport back. I would definitely stay there again.

Green oasis in the middle of Chiang Mai”
While approaching the hotel I thought this would be another well done publicity because this does not look at all like city hotel. Luckily I was wrong - it's a gem in the middle of beautiful Chiang Mai. Although not centrally located it is definitely not a disadvantage as it is a very quiet quarter. The centre is easily reachable by tuk tuk for only 60 BHT. To reach out beautiful suite we walked through what we called 'secret garden': the whole settlement is surrounded by green and full of interesting little decoration details: a fountain, pond with goldfish, garden swing with silk pillows. Suites were impeccably clean, very large and comfortable. Walk-in wardrobe spacious enough for few larger suitcases. Tea and coffee facilities, complimentary bottled water, microwave, large fridge. Very reasonable minibar rates. Large bathroom very tastefully decorated. Separate bath and shower, each one with a window. Complimentary toiletries, incl. toothbrush and toothpaste. Oversized terrace with outside bed overlooking lovely garden. Double terrace doors, one with glass, other with mosquito net. All in all, really nothing to complain about. Hope we'll go back and enjoy this charming hotel again.

Hassle free, attentive service”
Overall stay was pleasant, quality of Bed and Pillow could be better. Staff was very helpful. For the priced paid, compared to the average hotel rates in Chiang Mai, Shewe Wana Suite Resort is not exactly value for money.

Beyond our expectations”
We had such a pleasant stay at the hotel that on our 4 th day, we decided to stay in the hotel grounds just to enjoy it. There is always a smile on everyone's face that work at the hotel to attend you. The ladies at the restaurant and at the reception are so delicate and pleasant that makes your stay more relevant. We had a suite and it was impeccable , huge, with a wonderful living room and verandah and nice decoration , plus a refrigerator with waters and soda for free. We could not use the pool, the water was a bit cold. The restaurant has basic and very good Thai food. Breakfast was delicious, with several good quality fruits or fruit salad, good coffee (for real, not instant), choice of different omelets, Thai breakfast food, natural juices, croissants and different whole wheat breads. The pancakes with fruits, delicious. We were very pleased with the owners ecological approach on details like liquid soap, shampoo and moisturizer all in ceramic bottles which are refilled as you use, instead of using disposable plastic bottles. Great management, great grounds for a good price.

Cozy hotel with friendly staff”
my wife and i decided on this hotel after our friend recommended it to us. we were unsure about noise at first, as it was just off the main road, but the resort is behind the reception building and they did an excellent job with sound isolation. it was the most perfect sanctuary, so peaceful, quiet and very private, and the jungle like scenery made us feel like we were far away from the city. we had a large suite room, with beautiful northern thailand decorations as well as modern amenities such as cable tv and air-conditioning; there was even a little fish pond/stream in front of our porch. the staff was so friendly, they were always around and willing to help. we had a few free spa visits in our package and had an excellent time. we also had a great city tour with kay, he was such a fun guy. we had a few delicious thai dinners at their restaurant; they had something new every day. it was a great location, as we could walk to the nearby sanpakoi, warorot, and night bazaar markets. there was also a cheap red truck taxi that we could take far across town.

Great room, close to everything”
enjoyed time at shewe wana because it was a pleasure to come back to the room and hotel after a busy day. staff very helpful and made us comfortable at the hotel and more generally. well located, particularly after we got the lay of the land, but do prefer location of say 137 pillars. would have liked heated pool and gym and little more material and supplies in room.

A perfect ten accommodation”
we stayed in the 2-bedroom royal suite for 3 nights during songkran festival. it was excellent. the room was spacious with lovely balcony which we used as a little private party area. the hotel itself located close to nawarat bridge, riverside restaurant, and many other unique shops and bars. for thais, it's not quite in a walking distance (we hate to walk), so better take a local cab or tuk-tuk to travel around. for foreigners who don't mind to walk from block to blocks in such a hot weather, you may find yourself at tha-pae gate and the walking street within half an hour.

My favorite in chiang mai”
I stay here each time I travel to Chiang Mai. I find the quality/value relationship very good. The structure itself is amazing: a small forest in the city, hence the name... Wonderful service, staff, spa, food and amenities in general. Details are valued and customers very well taken care of. See you soon!

Perfect for a family visit”
This was our first trip with 10 month old twins and we were very happy with our choice of hotel. The suite was spacious enough for 4 adults and 2 babies. With minimal baby-proofing (such as shutting the bathroom doors) and, of course, monitoring what our twins were doing, they were able to crawl around the suite quite safely. The hotel provided two cots and we were also pleasantly surprised by the size of the fridge - which was larger than a normal bar fridge and more convenient for our baby food. Above all, the staff were fantastic. They were happy to entertain our kids during meals and make to order food (such as mashed potato)without salt etc. They made us feel very welcome and we would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hidden paradise in the city”
Actually we thought we had booked a suite in a different hotel, and were very positively surprised about this resort. The suite was really big and nicely decorated and the little gardens between the buildings were charming. It was also very restful, you could hardly hear the busy streets. The staff was very friendly and the receptionists spoke really good english. Of course the hotel is little bit far away from centre but they do have a one-way-shuttle service. The hotel is really a little forest in the city - as they say themselves.

Great family room, great breakfast, bed was firm, Swimming pool cold, little kitchen must try outsid”
Two bedroom was very big and nice with traditional decorations. Even the flooring was make of teak. First of all, we travelled to Chiang mai on Feb 2019 so the swimming pool was very very cold. Kids don’t dare. to go in. They should imply heater into the pool, just for recommendations. Daily breakfast was marvellous with choices of eggs selection- poach/scrambled/omelette and Thai dessert, waffle, pancake. Check in was fast and room was quiet. They have free shuttle bus to sat and sun night market and the tapas gate. Walking distance to the night bazaar so recommend to take tuk tuk or drive your own car to explore or by scooter. The air conditioning in the room was cold and there are big bottles of shower gel, conditioning and shampoo. The balcony was huge with 3 drying racks. There was a mini big c outside the street with just 5 min of walk. And there are supper to eat outside like noodle, rice during midnight. Beside the hotel, there are a local market which we can explore. And there is a place just outside the street, further up when u past by the big c mini mart which is the little kitchen. Serve very very very good and delicious food such as sea bass, pork rib, everything was great. Do not call the receptionist after 11pm because there be no one around as the phone be diver to the owner mobile. Complimentary parking inside the small carpark and the guard will lock the gate. So security is good too.
