Yarama Cottages
Ubud,Bali - View on map
"Excellent, good value accommodation in Ubud. Just a few minutes walk to: Hubud entrepreneur hub, huge Coco grocery store, restaurants, Monkey Forest, boutique shopping.. I really like this part of town, and I would stay here again! The staff are very friendly, relaxed and helpful. The pancake breakfast is excellent and will keep you full all morning! Only issue I had was the wifi Internet was a bit unreliable, but this is not uncommon in many accommodation options in Bali, and the room nearest the street had some street and music noise, but the room is priced accordingly and is excellent value (the rooms further in from the street are much quieter but a little more pricey.) Overall this place is excellent value! TIP: The hotel next door will let you use their swimming pool facilities all day for a very reasonable price! So if you're hot you can walk next door and be lazy by the pool :) Thank you for having me stay at your hotel in Ubud village!"

Suka Beach Bungalow
Nusa Lembongan,Bali - View on map
"After 35 visits to Bali and having run Hotels and restaurants for over 15 years I feel I am well able to give a proper review of facilites and what you get for your money in Bali. The Suka Beach Bungalows on Lembongan Island are new Lembongan Hut-style accomodation, angled and facing towards the beach. We booked the A/C suite but didn't turn it on once as the breezes and airflow was fine anyway, but as this is the closest one to the water didn't mind the extra cost to have totally uninterrupted views across to Sanur and Benoa Harbour at night time. There are currently 4 raised Huts with a downstairs outdoor bathroom setup (No Hot water but really it isn't needed) which is fine and the balcony and fixtures are great. Nice big comfy bed as well. Downstairs having your own daybed is a nice touch. Ketut and his lovely family are really good value. The brother apparently does massages but I never saw him do anything while I was there so can't comment on how good or otherwise they are. Ask Ketut if he can get any fish in (which he will if he doesn't already) for some of the best Bonito Tuna you'll ever eat. The rooms aren't serviced daily as these are low dollar accomodation but really a wonderful little find. There is a bit cheaper around but overall you won't regret paying and staying with Ketut and his family. TIPS: believe it or not but there is a Michelin 3 Hat Chef (the Highest rating you can get) on the Island (ask where is Indiana Restaurant)for one of the most memorable meals of your life: You do get what you pay for absolutely in life and this is a must do if you are into fine dining and a sunset to die for. Make sure you book or you will have to settle for a table further back (which is still lovely) but you'd regret it later if you didn't have the "Whole" experience. Five Star all the way.....amazing. rock n reef
Uluwatu,Bali - View on map
"What more can you ask for than a quaint, reef-chic stay right above the oceans reef? They have everything self contained location so you don’t need leave: drinking water, diverse menu selection, lovely welcoming team, different seating arrangements to keep you excited to try out the next view, waves crashing below, equipment for snorkeling, scootering, boards, kayaking ( some complimentary and some at small price). The rooms are some of the cleanest we’ve had. The Superior Balcony room we stayed hd a unique rock wall in the shower to blend with the landscape and a no-door bathroom arrangement that is not shown in pictures. It was a marvel of room design with usage of space and enjoyed the uniqueness, but likely not preferable for someone who is shy. The stairs are tough but not as bad as some Of the neighboring properties, but why leave? We have traveled around the entire island quite a bit and ended up booking another stay because Rock n Reef is the best in Bali. Bravo!"

Yoga Searcher Bali
Uluwatu,Bali - View on map
"My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 5 nights in Bali - 3 of which we stayed at Yoga Searcher. Overall our stay was excellent and would definitely return....Staff was very warm and friendly! Rooms were huge and very cozy! The pool was superb and super warm, and the salt water was very refreshing...no nasty chlorine. It was pretty epic just walking three steps from your door and into the pool. I also loved the casual vibe and surrounding grass with large pillows - was super relaxing and felt like home! Lots of spots for full sun and shade...! Food was great; but found juices to be a bit watered down & lacking flavor (my only critique). My husband who is not a vegan (and no food allergies) was very happy with the food and found many things on the menu to his liking. I have a number of food allergies and also was very pleased with the menu options and happy that the staff was very knowledgeable and caring about the many questions, and substitutions I requested :) "

Kubu Bali Baik Villa & Resort
Ubud,Bali - View on map
"Best stay on our trip to Bali, we booked a room with a private pool, that was so fantastic with the nice little garden with our own sun beds and pool. the water in the pool is changed after every guest so its a little bit colder than the main pool the first couple of days until its heated by the sun. The hotel is a bit outside downtown Ubud, which is very nice so no noise and right in the middle of the rice fields. there is a shuttle 3 times a day to downtown Ubud. staff are so nice and will do whatever it takes to fore fill your needs. will defently stay here again next time we come to Bali"

Cepik Villa Sidemen
Sidemen,Bali - View on map
"We stayed partly for business reasons and partly for tourism and spent 11 wonderful days in Sidemen. It's an ideal place to visit many other places in eastern Bali. The resort is small (4 rooms and bungalows) but very well maintained and clean and has a beautiful garden. The pool is nice but a bit small for serious swimmers. Food was great but personally we would have preferred to have a bit a bigger choice of Indonesian/balinese food and could have done well without western dishes. Overall we can fully recommend Villa Cepik."

Bali Belva Bungalow
Nusa Lembongan,Bali - View on map
"We have stayed one night at Bali Belva during the Easter Period. This was our first time on Nusa Lembongan and we were keen to divide our stay across different locations to experience the island. Bali Belva is owned and operated by a lovely Balinese family. The property, its villas and facilities have been crafted with obvious pride to provide a genuine and peaceful Balinese experience for the traveller. The location is fantastic, tucked away from the buzz of more developed parts of the island providing excellent sunset views with peace and quiet around you. If you are after true relaxation, you have found the place. Due to its location, unless you are a confident scooter rider your evening adventures are limited, however i believe this is one of the key charms being here. Standing still. During the day you can either enjoy your time lounging around the small but amazing infinity pool overlooking the sea, or find the tucked away path that takes you down to mushroom bay, taking no more than 7 minutes by foot. The restaurant provides a simple menu, i would recommend you stick to local traditional meals rather than seeking the comfortable western options. Personally the Tom Yum I had was one of the best including in Thailand. The staff are lovely, gentle, respectful. The huts have sea view with 4 more being built right now. If you are seeking a complete relaxation i highly recommend Bali Belva for your stay."

Casa de Amed
Amed,Bali - View on map
"It is a brand new Hotel. very clean and high comfort. Stuff is very nice and they really do everything for a luxury stay. English can be better of some workers. Breakfast is delicious and we enjoyed to have breakfast at the terrace. Beside the hotel, just behind the wall (turn right) there is a small, new restaurant at the beach. Food there is great. You can eat there for lunch or dinner and people are very friendly there as well. We were diving in Amed as well. Stuff from Casa de Amed brought us to BLD divers. That shop is not a good recommendation: they try to cheat you (calculate EURO in a very bad Indonesia rupiah exchange rate), they are dangerous (almost every dive we were in Deko time) and they are not reliable ( we have booked a trip to gily selang for the next day, but then a rich man from Jakarta came and so they needed the boot for shark hunting!) We did a really bad experience with those people in BLdivers: Jemeluk Beach – Amed, Karangasem – Bali....they are definitely a 'black sheep' between all the diveshops in Amed. Don't go there!!! "
