Canary Wharf hotels & places to stay

Do not let the outside fool you, a lot of effort has been placed to make this place a good hotel. The staff are very helpful, easy check in, an array of fruit offered throughout the stay and free bottles of water. There was a kitchen as well which makes it practical, however, the rooms are incredibly small but again, effort was made. Modern plugs with a usb socket, modern bathroom and a balcony that offers an amazing view of Canary Wharf. The only major downside was the cleanliness, slight dusting would help and higher quality sheets. Otherwise, top notch! Well done

very nice stay; i'd stay here again for business. the hotel is located halfway between two dlr stations but you can take a shortcut from canary wharf station through the lobby of a building and then across the footbridge. i ate in the pizzeria and asked for a dish from the menu to be prepared as a salad instead of a sandwich, which the waitress was able to accommodate. the food was uninspired but it was fresh and tasty.

Convenient for access to city via DLR but let down by maintenance shut down with replacement bus service running . Can take 30-40 mins to get to city centre which is fine if you’re leaving early and coming back at end of day but could be burdensome in other circumstances unless you are staying for access to O2, City Airport or Canary Wharf 👍 Airport very close and place noise loud but only starts after 7:30-8am and not late at night. Overall cost value was the right choice for us for 3 night visit to City highlights .... would have been better if DLR (scheduled?) Maintenance didn’t add time to our commute.

I spent three nights here during a mini heatwave and was thankful for their air conditioning unit! I arrived early at 9am and asked to leave my bag because I was heading back out, instead the lovely man on reception checked me into my room so I could freshen up after my journey. The room was spacious and well thought out, everything you need is in the room. Free tea and coffee is available downstairs. The room has fast wifi and there's also a hairdryer. An ironing room is also available. I rarely eat breakfast but they offer a small continental selection downstairs and there's also snacks on offer. The one day I actually fancied breakfast I chose to eat next door in the travelodge as they offered a full English. The location is closest to Royal Albert DLR, and if you cut across the car park opposite the hotel you can have a nice walk to it along the river. You can also see the airport opposite and watch the planes take off. There's also a small cafe and Chinese restaurant by the river

This was great initial accommodation for our circumstances, which were that we were relocating to London. We needed a hotel for 5 nights while we got our situation sorted (organise short-term rental, etc). Good things for the hotel were friendly staff, the price per night and the breakfast each morning was satisfactory. No real problems with the hotel, the biggest being that my wife and I called home after we arrived, to the lovely charge of 2.5 pounds per minute which I think is ridiculous. Only other real problems are feeling a little unsafe on the walk from the DLR station, and that after the room was cleaned it smelt of our toilet - hence we asked for no cleaning after the second day! All in all, I would recommend staying here, it offers no fuss accommodation with easy access to London, at a low price.

Disappointing at best. First, there had been a snafu with my Agoda voucher and the staff insisted on charging me for the room until I made an issue. Agoda tried to call a few times and could not get through. We finally settled it but it started on a bad note. Then the room they gave me was not particularly nice, especialla night for a tiny room in a less than premier area. I had never stayed in the Canary Wharf area and will not do so again. So the room was below par, the staff were not helpful and the location really was not good. Amusingly the taxi driver from City Airport had no clue where this hotel was. Just not a good visit.

I stayed in the hotel for a business trip. The hotel has good management, nice atmosphere and location. You only require effortless walking from the underground or the tram station. The only downside I experienced is the basic facilities in the room, First, the aircon stopped suddenly at the midnight and had to reset it myself from the main switch near the ceiling. One light bulb has not been working for all the days I stayed even I reported to the staff. Those are minor things. But I suggested that a simple checkup for the basic facilities in the room is necessary before releasing a room for customers.

Everything about this hotel is first class. Staff are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and very approachable. Rooms are spacious with excellent views, bathroom also very spacious well equipped - ample supply of large soft towels. The beds are so comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant food as excellent and the staff were so attentive. We would definitely recommend this hotel .

I arrived in London from Holland with my Husband to stay at the apartment. Our flight was delayed and I called ahead of time by 2 hours to confirm. We were told this would be ok. Once we arrived at the building reception, there was nobody there but a list of times and dates the building would be open during christmas and new years. It stated the building was not open. Pouring with rain outside and us getting beyond wet, I called again to ask what is going on and was told to find another building as there was a night guard holding the key for me. Once we arrived, the guard did not even work for the same company, but was doing a favour and holding my keys until we arrived, which at the time seemed very kind and helpful. We asked the guard how to get to the apartment and he said he did not know??? He walked with us to a building and the key did not activate the door. He then took us to another building and the key allowed us entry. we then found the door, but the key did not work. By this time 2 hours had passed and it is 1am. We then call who was apparently taking care of the apartments during the time as he has a master key. He had told us he had just been attending a situation at another apartment in central London and was on his way to us. He got there in 30mins, by this time we are waiting in the hallway of the building, hungry and tired. arrived and we discovered we were in the completely wrong building, however, the man with us is not to know as he does not even work for the company, but he waited with us anyway. By the time we got into the building, it was 2am, we were unable to eat as it was too late. Nobody informed us how to check out, apart from (leave keys at reception). We did have a good time staying there once we were settled, but the over all organisation was disastrous and we paid was too much!!

For some reason Agoda has this hotel's address in the Canary Wharf, which is why I chose this hotel, but it is not in the Canary Wharf area. It is near a convention center and not much else (no real restaurants or pubs within walking distance), but it is a great hotel and very easy accessible to the major parts of London. I LOVED the hotel bar and sitting area; we stayed for 5 nights and really appreciated and enjoyed the staff. Great room and facilities and decently priced.

I enjoyed the hotel a lot, because it was in a quiet area of London. It is very near to Custom House Excel docklands DLR Tube station from where exploration of London is very easy. After a busy and eventful day it is the best to come back to a hotel in a quiet area. I was highly impressed with the clean and comfortable room, the service of the hotel and the friendly staff. I enjoyed every moment of staying in the hotel and would recommend this hotel to any traveler who want to stay in a comfortable, less expensive hotel. The room has everything I needed, a proper bathroom, with coffee and tea, and a hair dryer. I will definitely stay here again if I get to London again.

Great location, easy reach of canary wharf and train stations to access the rest of London. Absolutely beautiful from the moment you arrive, well equipped rooms. The most friendly and attentive staff. It was my partners birthday, we have a hand written note, some drinks and a piece of cheesecake in our room on arrive, a really lovely touch. We stayed in the octagonal room, just totally WOW! Couldn't fault it! Can't wait to go back and stay again.

We booked the hotel based on our need to easily get to and from the O2 Arena on the last night of our stay in England, before flying out from Heathrow the next night. Works on the DLR compromised accessibility somewhat - the line wasn't running over the weekend of our stay, and there are pedestrian diversions in place to get from the station to the hotel through alleys that we would hesitate to enter alone at night. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of our room - 2 single beds, 1 queen with privacy screens between, lounge area and kitchenette plus large shower (no bath). Spacious compared to other places with similar room types. Updated soft furnishings and decor, which you wouldn't expect from first appearances. Plenty of room to repack large bags, and my teenage sons were pleased with Sky TV access which had been unavailable at all other properties we stayed in, including some with higher ratings. The construction work on the DLR continued overnight on Sunday night which disturbed us more than would be usual at this location. We traveled to the O2 Arena via the Emirates Airline, an easy walk from the hotel, and returned via Tube and connector bus. Breakfast was pleasant and on par with other properties, and we enjoyed an early dinner in the pub attached to the hotel. There is plenty of luggage storage which enabled us to leave our large bags and enjoy some last minute sightseeing before departing for the airport. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. We would recommend this hotel to families who would rather not book two rooms. If staying more than one night you could manage a little self catering in this room.

The yatch was amazing , even better than the pictures On line. We went to celebrate our friends 40th birthday, only staying 1 night, I didn't want to leave. Perfect location for O2 and Canary Wharf. We had an evening meal in the Lansdown restaurant, which was excellent. Service and food quality could not be faulted. Room was great . We had an executive room with balcony. Would definitely recommend this room. I am already planning my return visit .

Staff are friendly especially Rosh. The room are clean and good location. About 5 mins walk to Westferry DLR station and 15 mins walk to Canary Wharf Station. Many restaurants and pub nearby. Parking is 21pounds per night but must get the access card from the reception if not, you have to pay 36pounds per night. We stayed on the room 93 and the room was very clean and well decorated. The corner left of the room is the River Thame view And right hand side of the room is a canary wharf view.. We will come back again..

I would say this hotel is catered more for business travellers who needs to be in canary wharf for meetings, and not so much for leisure travellers as canary wharf is quite abit of distance from the major tourist attractions. nonetheless this was a value-for-money stay, and i enjoyed the spacious room with a big and comfortable bed. the service at the front desk was good also, and they did offer me advices on where to travel in london. always expect good services for Marriot!

I really love Marlin Apartments but was disappointed in the Canary Wharf site. I was on the first floor and it was very noisy during the night immediately outside the hotel. It was very warm but too noisy to open the windows. It is in a backwater and I felt nervous walking back at night alone. There was no cafetiere and when I asked the housekeeper was off with me. I also only had one set of towels ( and then discovered that the spares were in a mirror cupboard which was flush with the wall so struggled to find. Needs a note to say that towels behind the mirro.

the hotel was amazing. its situated in canary wharf, about 2 minutes from the dlr rain and 5 minutes max walk from london underground jubilee line. the walks are very safe even at night, no problems with that at all. 5 stops on the underground to the london eye, westminister area, and still only 3 stops out of town to stratford where the 3rd largest shopping centre in england is situated at the train station. rooms were lovely, staff so helpful, checked in no problem at 11am. not too many restaurants nearby, 1 under the hotel, otherwise a decent walk or onto the underground network. only 1 stop to the o2 arena if you want to see a concert etc.

Big problem the very first night, our booking was changed without our knowing, we were directed to another apartment, saying that we need to settle payment, only tell us that no apartment available for us the first night and need to move apartment the second days. We were told there is free parking in website when making booking, but due to this change, we need to pay 21 pound for parking. 2nd night apartment's condition worth than 1st night..... With all these changes, no one explain to us what is going on. We have two booking under same apartment, the second booking was good, provided with free parking, but still, no staffs clarify to us what was going on with the first booking..... Rather disappointed with the Apartment Management and bad impression about London (especially the very first day landed in London got to experience the poorly management apartment booking)
