Chelsea hotels & places to stay

We were upgraded to an executive suite from a Junior Suite upon arrival. Staff were courteous and professional at all times. Room was immaculately clean and modern. My personal opinion is that is was a little small but contained everything necessary for a few days (apart from an electric kettle and oven mitts). I would say the apartment was fine for up to 2 adults and perhaps a child, but any more and it would be a squeeze. The bathroom again was like new but VERY small. I have not stayed in London for many years, so perhaps this is typical. Room was cleaned daily and any dirty items placed into dishwasher - as an amateur tree-hugger it upset me a little that on one occasion there was only one glass and a spoon on a full cycle. Hotel is close to underground and many takeaways and there is a small M&S and local pub with good grub at the end of the road. We went to Claridges, Chelsea Flower Show, Harrods, Fortnum and Mason etc all with ease from this location, Portobello Road Green market highly recommended on a Saturday morning.

i had previously stayed at a three-star hotel for the same price, and that room was smaller than my dorm room and featured a twin bed. so imagine my surprise when i arrived at anvi and was met with a huge one bedroom studio. the apartment was spacious and newly renovated. i loved my queen sized bed, something i never imagined possible in london at the rate i paid. the finishings at anvi were on par with a five star hotel in asia, again, something unexpected in central london. this will be my go-to place for my stays in london. the hotel is literally one minute away from the tube and is located on gloucester road station on the piccadilly line - the same line as heathrow airport so i didn't have to worry about changing the lines while carrying my heavy suitcase. gloucester road station has a lift from the street level to almost the train platform (just one small flight of stairs to the trains).

I've struggled for years to find a London hotel that's good enough to stay in and doesn't cost a year's salary. I go there for or five times a year and so this has always been a pressing issue for me. London has more lousy hotels at ridiculous process than any other city I know. Worse even than New York! I think at last I have found what I've been looking for. The Hotel Moonlight in Chelsea. It's still expensive compared with anywhere else in the world but by London standards it's affordable. It's clean (another rare achievement in London) and really nicely furnished. The room I had was very small (another London feature to endure) but not as small as many places I've stayed. There's good cupboard space to get my clothes out of my suitcase - again rare in London. The staff were helpful and I was comfortable the full time I was there. Excellent location, five minutes walk from Earl Court underground station (Piccadilly Line, direct from Heathrow) and 5 minutes from a bus stop.

Good location, refurbished Kensington Close Hotel with the usual Holiday Inn branding upgrades from what it once was when just the Kensington Close. A good enough ‘city tourist 3.5Star’ but no, not a genuine lavish 4 Star hotel as the more serene, well designed, refurbished, European city centre establishments can be. That said, it procides what it states on the tin. It would be fairer to have it badged as a good 3.5 Star hotel in its design, layout, finish & room decor plus sizes. But certainly for a Kensington High Street hotel that is well located, convenient, clean, tidy, well presented property it ranks as a very decent 3.5 Star. A good gym although much of the Life Fitness strength equipment is actually residential / light instituitional range & NOT commercial. Good cardio equipment & a great Dual Adjustable Cable & plenty of free weight dumbbells, barbells discs etc. so one can get a full workout. They charge guests extra to swim which is rather annoying. A good 3.5*.

This is our second stay at The Beaufort London. The first stay was so good that this time we got our friends to stay here with us. Our group consist of a family of 3 with a small child, an elderly lady and a couple. The rooms were quite small, especially our room but we enjoyed hanging out at the common area after breakfast, before dinner or whenever we were converging to make plans. The staff are super nice and very attentive. The hotel is not cheap with their open bar either, replacing bottles as soon as they are emptied. The tea and scones were served even well after the 5pm stated deadline. They were very accommodating and we enjoyed the tea and scones daily. The only thing we were not too happy about our stay this time was that the entire area was super crowded even until late at night. Our friends had a hard time pushing their stroller through the crowd as one would literally have to weave in and out between pedestrians on the walkway. Also we felt that some of the people crowding the streets look a bit shady though am sure it may just be a matter of bad fashion sense for we were told by my local londonder friends that knightsbridge is 'occupied' by mainly rich foreigners from the middle east coming to escape the heat of summer back home. A friend of ours who stayed at a nearby hotel insisted we escort her back when it was dark as she did not feel comfortable walking back alone. Also look out for crazy driving of fancy cars with foreign plates while you are crossing roads. It seems where they are from, cars have the right of way over pedestrians.

We booked a studio and it was located on the 5th floor. We had no problems with the elevator during our stay. The room was exactly like the photos. Most of the things you need in the kitchen are included (salt & pepper). They even have a tote bag for your grocery shopping because supermarkets are charging a fee for plastic. That's very thoughtful. Staff are super friendly and helpful. It is only about 4 mins to the nearest tube station. It is quiet at night and safe to walk around. I would recommend this place to everyone who is visiting London!

I would like to acknowledge the friendliness of support staff at this apartment. The hotel accomodated us at 9am on the day we arrived and was able to extend checkout until 3pm without any additional charges. They offered solutions to make our stay convinient, which is refreshing. The apartment is about 5 mins walk from Earl’s Court Station and about 8/10 min walk from Gloucester Rd. Quiet street and no disruptions at night. The room was comfortable, facilities neat, safe and equipped with all essentials to allow for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for groups.

My wife and I were thoroughly pleased with the hotel an its staff who were all very efficient and courteous. The interior deco was very chic.The hotel is superbly well kept and and we loved the complimentary beverages in the lobby.The staff were very helpful in storing our baggage before we checked in so that we could start our day early touring the city.Mr Adam , front office staff ,was also very helpful in arranging for a airport cab for our departure. If we return to London again , we will definitely make this our first choice hotel...best regards to the hotel staff...Dr & Mrs MK Au

Travelling with my 12 year old son, my mission was to 'show' him as much of London in 3 days as possible. All this was achieved with the aid of the staff at the Crowne Plaza who were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. It is a very comfortable hotel but with a cosy feel that is so welcomed at the end of a day sightseeing in London. Day one we were too tired to eat out and room service of pasta and a chicken biriani were delicious and well-priced. We ate breakfast at "Paul" the cafe on Gloucester Road which is charming and the best hot chocolate my son had ever experienced! The museums are 10 minutes walk (at most) and with the underground within sight of the hotel, we managed to do the Tower of London, the Natural History and Science Museums, the Lion King and Harrods as well as meeting friends for dinner and drinks. Will stay at the Crowne Plaza again next visit from Melbourne.

Had to get some emergency accommodation as the place we booked through another group was filthy. When we arrived early they had our room ready and the manager was absolutely fantastic as well as all the staff we met. As we cater for ourselves we found the kitchen perfect and easy to use. Bed is very comfortable and shower good. I would recommend this place to everyone. Location near tube, supermarket and restaurants. The only criticism is the need tongs in kitchen for us cooks😁. The hotel is located just one block directly west of the Underground (Glocester Station) in South Kensington, a great neighborhood in its own right and a good base for exploring London. Several major museums (Natural History, Science, and Victoria and Albert) are within walking distance, as are Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, Chelsea, and Notting Hill. The reception was extremely helpful as I arrived well before check-in time after a red-eye flight from Asia, and quick found me an alternate, comfortable room, slightly upgraded from what I had booked. Wireless internet throughout the hotel was good quality and high speed. Although the breakfast room can get crowded, the variety of food provided at breakfast was impressive for a hotel of this size. The bath was clean and had a good shower. There is a small empty fridge in each room. Transport from Heathrow Airport to and from the hotel via the Underground was easy and a huge bargain over taxi service; just be ready to carry luggage up about a dozen steps in Glocester Station (easiest if you're traveling light).

It was definitely an amusing stay for us. During our check in, the staff told us they would upgrade the room for us from 2 bedrooms to 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. That’s wonderful.... The amenities were perfect excepted that there was no air conditioner during the heat wave period. However, I know they were tried their best to provide the movable air cond and fans. Even we felt hot over the nights, there were no complaints. On the other hands, if they would provide free wifi, this accommodation would score full marks. Anyway, here would be our first choice if we will visit London again in future.

I loved this hotel So convenient. Minutes to the Earls Court Tube. Direct line to Heathrow . Our room had a queen bed, 2 small balconies, small refrigerator and tea making appliance. I found this room very functional. The lighting was probably the best of any hotel we’ve stayed in 45 years. I loved the shelf in the bathroom that was over the toilet and sink. Perfect for all the toiletries. They also provided an English plug . And the hooks on the door were very useful. The shower was great and large. The breakfast was very good. Juices,cereals,coffee machine,eggs hard or soft boiled,a sweet and some fruit. We had excellent restaurant recommendations from the hotel clerk. My only complaint was the water in early AM was only lukewarm in the shower. And the price for London was excellent. We will definitely stay on our next trip to London.

This hostel is one of the best hostel I have visited before, in top 5. Most of all I like the location. it is located in the Kensington area. So it feels very safety while I was staying even though I come back the room lately. The Earl's court Metro is very close to the hostel. It takes just in 5 minutes. And if you like to walk or to run. It takes just in 30 min. to the Kensington garden and Hyde park. There are buses to the City of London near the Cromwelroad. it takes 10 min. by walk to the bus station. And a bus to Victoria just around the hostel. It is in the zone 1, so you can save your money for transfortation. And the staffs are very kind and helpful. When I ask them something. All of they are respond me and try to solve the my ask with kindness. Facilties, lounge, kitchen, toilet and shower rooms are very clean and useful. The rooms has a enough space to me and it was clean too. There are just some little bad thing if I have to say. The floor of the room make a noise, it seems like wooden floor under the bottom. it doesn't matter to me, if the others make a noise. But I was a little bit care about it when I walk in night. I just don't wanted make others bothering..A woman in the room was very sensitive for noising. It can be to whoever has sensitive ears... But the building is old one. It was the one reason why I chose. The other things of interior are remodeled, so there are no problem to use it. I highly recommand it to you! Thank you all staffs:)

Booked a 2-bedroom apartment. It was an enjoyable experience. The apartment is spacious and clean, with nice decos. The area is carpeted and the beds are very comfortable. It is very near to supermarkets (Sainsbury and Waitrose) and also near to two underground stations. Attractions are within walking distance, particularly the Natural History Museum and Science Museum. Bus 74 near the apartment will take you direct to Harrods for shopping experience. My children enjoyed the kid's channel on cable tv. Only small downside is that the building is like a maze (I had to take lift to level 3 and went round a corner to take another lift to level 4 in a different wing of the building.) Will definitely recommend this apartment for its value for money, and great location.

The flat was perfect. Comfortable, attractive, good lighting, nice kitchen, HOT water and a nice bath...having a washer/dryer allowed lighter packing. The host was very nice. When we arrived and said, "No microwave?" (easy prep of ready to eat meals), he delivered a brand new one the next day. He also helped when we could not figure out the Smeg oven controls (we set the temp and cooking type, but did not understand the timer knob was was actually turned it on!). I would definitely stay here again!

I travelled on this occasion with my 10 year old daughter on her first trip to London. We upgraded to a twin room for an additional £20 per night as we needed two beds. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable, if a bit stuffy. The bathroom was fine and there was a safe, tea/coffee facilities, free wifi in the room and complimentary soft drinks in the fridge which was a bit hit with my daughter. The location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping, walking distance to Kensington Gardens, Palace and High Street with Knightbridge and the museums also within walking distance but a bit further. Gloucester Rd tube station was quite close and not as busy as Earls Court (which is a little closer). Was delighted to find kids under 11 travel free on both buses and the tube which saved me a lot as we did a good bit of travelling around London. The hotel also offered a free breakfast for my daughter when I purchased breakfast for myself which I thought was good value. Our room was quiet and we enjoyed good nights' sleep. The room was a bit stuffy though, I would have loved to be able to open the window for some fresh air, though this is a minor gripe. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for holidaymakers who want to do sightseeing and shopping and who want a comfortable and convenient base.

Pro: good location, just behind Sloan Streer Cons: 1. The Head of Housekeeping of whom we should be able to contact was often MIA. We would text to ask him questions with no replies for 1-2 days. However after we reported to his ‘boss’, problems would be solved. 3. Some parts of the apartment were run down. At one point, the glass partition that prevented water from spilling out of the tub came down and broke!! The tub was filled with broken glass pieces!! Very scary!! 2. There was no air-conditioning, so we wouldn’t recommend this place during the summer time
