Go to Koh Rong Samloem for the scenery and peace not facilities and luxury”
The whole beach is quite expensive for Cambodia and for the facilities (or lack of) they provide, but that's because it is actually expensive to set these things up in such an underdeveloped island. It is literally just one beachfront with resorts and then it's jungle, there's not even a path or road between resorts, people use the beachfront. So if you are looking for luxury, the whole beach will disappoint you in terms of facilities value you get for the high price (the same price would get a much-much better rooms on mainland), but if you go for the peaceful environment and the paradise-like scenery, then Koh Rong Samloem is perfect and Cita is the best one of the beach. Cita is the last one before the second pier and third last in total, this is a good thing, they will pick you up with a boat and you can enjoy the peaceful location. Their beachfront sand is the whitest and cleanest, their restaurant music playlist is the best, their bungalows are the nicest (even though the open roofed "bathroom" has sand floor with tiles you step on and toilet is right out in the open under the stairs to second floor) and are apart from one another well enough to feel private (something lacking for some other resorts on the island), they have no wifi on principle (there's wifi in nearby restaurant though) and they are very friendly.

Perfect holiday”
We had really nice stay at Cita Resort. Staff at the resort is very kind, helpful and always smiling. The location of the resort is perfect, really close to the pier (but not the main busy one), far from the loud bars. It has super calm and clean beach. Rooms are always clean and also decorated nicely. We enjoyed tasty breakfast every morning. I would recommend Cita Resort to everyone who wants super relaxing holiday.

Time to relax!”
Quaint bungalows on stilts allow you to have the view, breeze, and sound of the ocean while you are laying in your bed or there are hammocks underneath your bungalow that cover any rain that may take place during the day while still enjoying the ocean. Cita Resort is located on the far end of the beach, but they brought me and my luggage by boat to the pier to catch my ferry. The staff was very friendly and even fed me late night after I returned from a night scuba dive, when everything else was closed on the beach.

Wonderful Stay =D”
Had a lovely one nights stay at Cita Resort. The food (Italian) was amazing!! As it is situated near the end of the beach it is nice & quiet & the beach is pretty much private. The bungalow was fab - great balcony upstairs, comfy bed. Sweet hammock space underneath =) The owners were lovely & helpful - would highly recommend a stay here!

Natural retreat”
I don't like it but I feel that I gonna start from negative feedback. So, We were really disappointed by the entire island area once we stepped out of the ferry boat. He whole beach line was full of garbage, no pick up was provided so we just walked around 20 minutes having jumped over the muddy brooks under the burning sun. There were only 2 people in the staff for the whole bunch of bungalows making food, cleaning, taking care of the guests' requests etc. In a while we appreciated that as no one was disturbing us and overall support was sufficient. We weren't ready for the open-air shower and toilet just right in the area where there is usually the entrance living room. We weren't ready for the fact that there are no fresh fruits, vegetables and ice cream on the island. We weren't ready for Cambodian karaoke till midnight just 50 meters from bungalows. We weren't ready to see workers on the pier throwing their sh....t into the water. Finally, we didn't expect that water is going to be that much shallow... Even though among all disappointment we really loved the food and good service the young lady provided to us. We loved our bungalow and we had a very good sleep there. We loved chilling out in hammocks, playing with the dogs, petting the cats, discovering the island and trying to make good pictures. So, those who are ready to face some discomfort and are looking for an isolated stay - that's the perfect place to stay. Btw, Cita provides the best bungalows on the island.

far too expensive”
After a long backpacking trip through Cambodia, we had planned for three calm days at the Saracen beach on Koh Rong Samloem. For these days we did not want to bother with broken toilets or dirty rooms and so we opted for what we considered a safe option - the Cita Resort (which, at the time of writing, was the most expensive on the island). What we found was a bit of a disappointment, especially given the exorbitant price. On the positive side, the location of the resort at the outer reaches of the beach is calm. In contrast to some other resorts the beach was cleaned daily. On the negative side, the bungalows are quite a bit smaller then the photos would suggest. The bathroom was not really clean, and many of the building materials are rather cheap. During our three nights the bungalow was not cleaned again and towels weren't changed. The view is ok, but you look onto a pier that is used by construction workers and locals to move building materials. The chairs on the balcony are not really comfy, and there are little seating options directly on the beach (like hammocks, rope-suspended chairs, etc. as we have seen in other resorts like Secret Paradise or Sweet Dreams) except for some aging fixed-inclination sun loungers. The restaurant of the CITA provides italien food only and is one of the priciest of the whole island (a 1.5l bottle of water is 2.5$ here, compared to 1$ at the next restaurant down the beach). So, taken together, our stay was quite ok but we suspect that - without significant change in management - the bulangows will hardly survive more then one or two seasons. Many new resorts are opened right now, many of them much better - both in quality and price - then the CITA resort.

Incredible beauty and relax in Koh Rong Sanloem!!!”
We have been welcomed from the resort owner, the very charming and polite Mr Andy, he explained us all the island routes and told us which were the interesting excursion to make. He found for us a boat for snorkeling and fishing with sailor included for a really cheap price. Bungalows have an amazing view on the beech, were you can experience incredibly beautiful sunset and sunrise as well. Our privacy was at the same time ensured from the very smart design of the bungalows themselves. Every bungalow is provided with his own private amacas and private bathrooms are clean as well. The resort offer a restaurant service for breakfast lunch and dinner, with very good dishes of the Italian traditional cuisine, and Cambodian very refined recipes as well. All the fish and seafood was incredibly fresh, we saw the owner buying it morning after morning!!! Try this incredible experience!!!

Paradise with Italian taste”
Basic but cleverly built 5 bungalows just few steps from the beach. There was no problem with electricity. The fan is enough for comfortable sleep - the bungalows are airy and even during the day there is no heat in the room. The bathroom is partly with no roof - you can see the moon and stars when taking shower :) No hot water but that's not a big deal in 30 deg. ☺ Next to the bungalows is an Italian restaurant with delicious food. The location is perfect - one minute by foot from the pier. The owner from Italy is very friendly. He created a peaceful, lazy atmosphere around this place and he didn't forget about the details, perfect service and very good organization. Some say that the place is a little bit pricy. Maybe, but just a little:) You are on beautiful, half-deserted island, in a place created by owner who put his heart in it - take it into consideration when judging the prices ;)

Clean unique shaped bungalow! ”
Loved the tall bungalow construction. The heat rose to the roof and I had an unbelievable sleep with the fan. The resort has solar power so the fan runs all night without interruption or noise from a generator. They picked me up and dropped me off at the ferry dock and the location at the end of the beach made a great location for swimming the entire bay and walking the whole beach! wpuls definitely recommend and go back.

Super chill and lovely space, amazing pasta”
Stay here for the pasta, hammocks at your bungalow, and overall interesting experience showering and using the toilet semi-outdoors. Staff were super helpful and friendly - knew we were in super safe and good hands with them. Great location about 1-2 min walk away from one of the jetties. Cita will advise on which speedboat to take from Sihanoukville. Also, bring insect repellent (bugs on the island; not just specific to Cita) and use the mosquito net at night; and just enjoy being there!

The stay was good. The only downside is it is the last resort on Saracen Bay. They are helpful n offer potter service via email a day before arrival

Great bungalows in an amazing location”
Perfect little bungalows right by the pier and the beach. Read other reviews about people having to walk the entire length of the beach to get to Cita, but if you book the correct ferry then the pier is right beside Cita. Staff could have been a little more friendly and other than the giant spider in our bungalow, everything was perfect. The outdoor shower/bathroom is also very nice.

Over priced. ”
Very over rated resort, staff were not very friendly and everything seemed an effect on their behalf. Lovey beach but bungalows are extremely over priced for the standard of accomodation, there are better and far cheaper bungalows on Saracen Bay which we saw and enquired about their prices. We would have cancelled our reservation when we checked in and moved elsewhere on Saracen Bay but the booking was non refundable and we had already paid for four nights accommodation. The Italian restaurant food is lovely as the resort is owned by Italian staff. No breakfast included but we found a great place next door for breakfast and eat there every morning. Would definitely not be back to Cita as way over priced for the bungalows.

Nearly great... ”
This is an island retreat so the lack of some facilities e.g. Wi-Fi is forgivable, though many other places have it. Cita seems to have a handy location near the pier but that's actually a curse, as hordes of day-trippers camp in front of it. Our bungalow wasn't cleaned while we were there (3 nights) and the food is average. A little disappointing for the money, it's not cheap! I think there are better places to stay on Koh Rong Samloem.

Romantic location for couple”
This resort is near the port that is easy to access. The room is very clean with basic facilities. I’m so happy with the staff who are so helpful and always smile. We enjoy the romantic dinner with candles and delicious food here, especially Italian dishes. We absolutely stay here again next trip.

A little bit of paradise”
I booked for 2 and stayed for 4, it was so hard to peel myself away! This was truly a delight. The staff were super friendly and helpful - carrying my bag the 30 minute walk down to the resort! Andy is great and they've got a special Italian menu with great wine! The bungalow design is really different - nothing else on the island is similar. Loved the outside shower, nothing like watching the moon for your night cleanse! :) They're only a year old so still so new and clean. Thanks Andy! Until next time, ciao!

Beautiful getaway”
Nice, small resort next to the pier. Beautiful cabana's, but pity they are best for two people. Would be nice to have a family one. Good Italian restaurant. Good breakfast. Open air shower and toilet is great, sanitair could be more accurately cleaned. Right on to the sea. Beautiful, quiet and relaxed getaway. Definitely worth staying.

Good place for relaxing!”
The resort is very nice if you just want to relax. The island is still remote, so there is no nightlife. Also, there is no wifi at the resort. For us it was good, we couldn't check mails and were talking instead. The newborn kittens were a bonus and erverybody just loved them! As the place is still very new it misses some decoration to help create an even better atmosphere. All in all a fine place to stay.
