Chennai hotels & accommodations

Staying at GRT Chennai hotel was my first time. I always have not had great experiences with hotels regardless of how great or reputed they are, but this one. I absolutely loved everything about GRT Chennai. Food, staff, cleanliness, entertainment and other facilities. I was 100% relaxed at the hotel. Staff were very well-mannered and helpful. They don't hassle you or ...

We stayed this hotel from 9th - 12th of May 2015. Our stay was pleasant and memorable. The Hotel is placed in a very convenient location in the heart of T. Nagar. It's just 4 mins. walk to Saravanas Selvaratnam Retail Stores and about 6-9 mins. walking distance to The Chennai Silks & Pothys. The only complaint that we have is that we lost about 9000/- (Sri Lankan Ru...

I only stayed in Chennai for 1 night as a business traveler so after reviewing many hotels in Chennai on the AGODA website i decided to stay at the Residency Towers after reading some of the reviews, i found the hotel to be quite convenient for the airport, only around 30mins drive, the hotel provided me with the airport transfer as i requested and the driver waited fo...

I have not stayed at a five star hotel in Chennai before. But I have in other countries like Bangkok and Indonesia. It measures up where it needs to, like staff friendliness and service efficiency. But I would find fault in the old bathrooms and the lack of polish in their up keep of furniture. it's an old hotel so it's forgivable I suppose. The breakfast buffet was m...

This is one of the oldest hotels in Chennai, and so we did not expect it to be well-maintained. We booked it mainly for its location, in the heart of the city and closeness to the beach. But we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and the fairly modern rooms. Washrooms are very clean and have the facilities that most guests would require: hot water throughout t...

Having stayed in many hotels in various countries, I did not have much expectations for Leela Palace Hotel thinking it was just a normal local chain of hotel. I was so wrong. The service staff made me welcome from the very moment I arrived at the hotel. Room was fantastic with a view of the sea. Breakfast buffet was good with wide variety of international dishes. Beats...

My 2nd time here. As before had a fun time with the family. Hotel inside the best shopping mall in chennai. Would stay here next time just for the convenience of being near to all. Hotel has a vegetarian restaurant which will not hinder ones appetite in any way considering there are plenty of restaurants and eateries inside the mall. For a 4 star hotel i was disappoi...

I stayed in this hotel out of God's blessings at the time of India currency crisis. I was not able to find Indian currency in Singapore. Fortunately, after landing in Chennai airport the airport money exchanger was able to give me some badly-needed Indian Rupees for me to travel by taxi to this hotel. There is no way to walk to the hotel from the airport as the hotel i...

I'm international traveler and I been in many places in world, this hotel is truly 5 star, they make you feel like home. The staff is super friendly, it spotless clean, it for sure has a great value on you money. I stay in other hotels in Chennai with bigger name, that not even close to what you get in this hotel. For sure will hieghly recommended

I was longing for a break after having a few hectic months at work.. was browsing thru the hotels in Chennai and after reading some interesting reviews of Hyatt, my sister and i thought we could give it a try..I would say i made a wise choice.. service was over the top.. room was great..check-in was smooth and fast, although it was a very early check-in, they still man...

I have stayed in other similarily priced hotels in Chennai and this one is the best by a long way. My room was large and everything worked including the hot water(not so in other Chennai hotels) and wifi. Pluses included availablity of restuarant (rooftop) as well as good breakfast. Staff contact was friendly and helpful.

I was on a business trip come short holiday where I had my younger sister with me who visited India for the first time. We was traveling around few places with a tight schedule. After our long travel from Bangalore to trichy and to chennai on the same day, we arrived at this wonderful welcoming hotel. Upon arrival we were greet by wonderful staff who always had smile o...

I stayed at the Ramada Plaza, Chennai for 2 nights. I had a really good experience staying there. They ran out of the room type I had booked last minute, so they upgraded me to a premium room at no additional cost. As a solo woman traveller, I felt very safe at all times. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The staff are really courteous and great at service. I ...

Location is good. We stayed here for 4 Nights. The hotel is very near (walking distance) to famous restaurant like Amma Chettinadu Restaurant, Hotel Virudhunagar Chettinad, Murugan Idli, Pakwan Chennai and etc. The Pothys Boutique is also very near about 2 minutes walk. The best thing about this boutiques is that it provides free shuttle service To Pothys T Nagar....

It was really worthwhile for every single money we paid. The room was clean, fit well with young modern taste and spacious for family. They have small cooking area which is unusual for 3 star hotel to offer, very handy for those who brings small children which need simple home cooking. Really happy with the hotel staff who is really helpful. The best part of the hotel i...

This was the best hotel I stayed in during my travels in India. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the restaurant and bakery are open 24 hours, the rooms are nicer than most American hotels, and it’s extremely close to the airport. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in Chennai.

I and a friend from Singapore traveled to Chennai for a vacation, and the best thing we did was booking Clarion. It was value for money. The hotel was just a 5min walk from a mall and it might life much easier. We were able to a catch a movie at night and walk back to the hotel without any hassle. The staff were extremely nice and went out of the way to assist us whene...

The Residency located in the heart of the Chennai city, 30 mins away from the airport which is very convenient to reach! I had a wonderful experience staying in the hotel, it has two restaurant offering delicious food, Chin-Chin is one the the best Chinese restaurant in the city. I loved the friendly environment, kindness and caring staff. Truly professional staff in all departments - a remarkable five star experience. All the staff from front desk to house keeping, restaurant, etc were very professional and took very good care of us. Special mention - Ms Ceetai, Mr Sasi (Restaurant) and Mr Bala (Front office) they were very nice. The best serv...

We stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. It is not a lavish hotel, the rooms are a bit old fashioned but their service was amazing. Chennai is on a water crisis but whenever we requested some drinking water they provided it without any questions. And never charged extra. The rooms are spacious, clean and maintained every day. The location is in a residential area so not m...

We stayed here for two nights passing through chennai.. The hotel is beautiful and new, the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with everything you need except there is no alcohol in the mini bar. We were swamped with three room deliveries of complimentary tarts and cakes on the first day with a note on only one of the tarts saying it was their tart of the day...

Was very surprised to see the rates for 2 Triple Deluxe Room. We were 5 Adults and 1 Child (6yrs). We got into the Hotel and the Staff were very decently dressed and greeted and allotted the Rooms Instantly. Everything went fine with our stay for 2 days. The Staff by name Pradeep was very helpful and also smiling whenever I approached him with query. Excellent and TRU...

This Hotel shows that it is located on the Airport Road, however this is not true, it is 34kms far from the Airport and 55kms away from the Chennai Central. I booked this hotel on the perception that it is close to Airport but in vain. We spend 2600 INR from the Chennai Central Railway Station to reach to Hotel. I stayed at the Belstead for two days. I was on a work related trip. The entrance is almost invisible due to the pedestrian bridge stairs right in front of the hotel entrance. But once you enter the hotel, you can see it is a wonderful place! Apparently it was renovated two years ago and got its new name. Every detail in the hotel is superb. The rooms are well appointe...
Cheap places to stay in Chennai

We had a short stay here. Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Parking facilities outside. Lots of good restaurants near the hotel. Location also ok. Near to the chennai central railway. Only issue is this hotel don't have a scale. We have to take the bags outside to check the weight in any case. But helpful staff is always welcome for such matters. Overall I can rec...

Room was decent but it was in front of the carpark/ entrance, was easier to bring visitors into my room though. Wifi was good. Weird for a "business hotel" not to have printing facilities for guests. Staff weren't as attentive as you'd hope (forgetting to give towel/soap/bottle of water after several requests) Staff would knock on your door at 7am to ask if you wanted ...

150 years at least of ever changing history left a lot of patina on this grand lady of indias hotel scene. With my first visit some 30 years ago Chennai and broadlands are one for me. Time changed also the kind of visitors to this icon. In the past it was given that one would spent weeks and months and a kind of family feeling would have been established while today's ...

I had such a fabulous time staying at Zostel Chennai. The receptionists were utterly helpful and welcoming. They taught me how to use Swiggy to order food and got a cab for me when I couldn't use Ola on my phone myself. They even printed my E-visa for me free of charge. The hostel is located in a posh area of Chennai with lots of consulates nearby. I made some i...

check in with the hotel on 23.11.2018 with 6 guest. Arrival after midnight. Very good staff and very alert about their guest arrival. Immediately three staffs came and carried all the six luggage's up to our roomd. Room was very clean, unable to complain since it just for a night at very affordable price with good cup of coffee and tea with 3 choice of the morning bre...

Save your money, and book your stay elsewhere, for the same budget. This is a shabby hotel, in a dilapidated old building, that is not elder friendly (no elevator, bad stairs). Bed linen and towels are old, and have a yellowish unclean look. Toilet had stains, fittings were cheap, and of poor quality. Included breakfast is adequate. But you can have that anywhere outsi...

I felt very safe at the hotel. Being a single, female backpacker safety and security is very important. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the manager who directed me to Pondicherry on buses to avoid expensive rickshaw drivers who had already tried to scam me :)The location is central and the room was clean and basic, perfect for someone on a strict b...

I arrived late and so initially it was a but of a hassle. However, in the morning, they manager and secretarial staff could not do enought for me. They do not have WIFI but they personally took me to an Internet bar and also to the lovel hotel to show me a decent place to ear. IAs a painter and a photographer, I loved the area. IThe Tahngam Balaji is in a local neigh...

Staff were nice enough, room was clean, no top sheet but upon request we were given one, location is right next to a train station, well ot opposite but a 5 or 6 min walk which was handy, they have a 24hr only policy where by if you book a room you only have 24 hrs in the room so we checked in a 7.20am and was told we had to be out by 7.20am the following day, i simpl...

It was a really fantastic stay at Keys Hotel Katti - Ma, Chennai with my family. Hotel Staff welcomed all of us in a Royal Manner. We really surprised after our welcome. If you're looking for a clean, friendly hotel with reasonable prices in Perumbakkam, Chennai, then book Eben Service apartment. We were pleasantly surprised as we had all the facilities with fully equipped /furnished apartment Unit! You can make your own food. Will be coming back soon!

I spent 2 nights here in a standard non-A/C room. It's worth my money for their offer price. Manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is located in the center of Chennai, safety area that I found it was not difficult for taxi to recognize and gave me ride. Food shop and shopping mall were nearby and convienient. No hot water from the tap but you cou...

I had very good stay at Clarion Hotel Chennai- Old name Hotel President. I surprised to know it was unveiled by Great actor and Cheif Minister of Tamil Nadu M G Ramachandran. My friends visiting the hotel said still high quality as before and felt comfy and spacious rooms. Foods are delicious and particularly Sweet Kaaram and filter coffee combos are my favourite here....

We were looking forward to our stay at the Ambassador Pallava Chennai Hotel. From the moment we arrived were were greeted at the front door by a gentleman in a fine uniform, then a very efficient check in. What a nice surprise. Our large room was well appointed and cool on a hot day. My children were straight in the swimming pool to cool off. We had a really relaxing a...

we enjoyed our three night stay at the lemon tree hotel in chennai in january 2010. they provided pickup from the airport when we arrived in the very early morning. the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. breakfast was included in the booking price and there was a good selection of 'western' breakfast items, as well as 'indian' food.

This is the first time we are staying in a hotel in Chennai and even after providing the Photo ID's they took a picture. I have never seen hotel taking pictures of the guest anywhere in the world we have stayed. I'm giving one star for this policy and never ever recommend it for any traveler until this policy is changed. And I thought, it was standard practice in Chen...

I really loved the entry with perfect booking tracking at the reception. No errors of any such funny things, which blended well with an concourse to the clean and neat traditional designed decor room. I was fascinated by overwhelming vegetarian buffet which i didn't expect. But Truly the Veg Buffet was really nice and not overpriced with some discount.

I actually really liked the hotel, they got roof swimming pool which unfortunately we didnt have time to try...its right near the beach where nobody swims really but very quiet, coming right after trip in Delhi with noisy hotel, i actually had a good rest. but its far from shops and u have to get taxi all the time or walk a bit. but they go nice restaurant with SPA and...

we were totally 6 adults and 2 children, booked 2 garden view rooms. Pros :- 1) Room - the room was very spacious and was good with the bath tub. 2) Morning break fast was good. 3) Staff's care for the Guests was very much appreciated. 4) Location - Very calm place to relax. Cons:- 1) House keeping - they should check the rooms before handing over to the Guests. The...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Raj Park. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, and the hotel's location was great. A walk away from some great cafes and restaurants (The English Tearoom and The Brew Room), and a quick ride away from lots of tourist sites. Our room was perfectly satisfactory but much smaller than we expected. Overall it was a great ...

we stayed at hanu reddy residences (wallace garden) for a week in january 2013. we arrived in the early hours after a long flight but staff were ready to greet us and made us feel very welcome. it was our first time in india and we were very pleased with the location which was an oasis from the chaos of chennai roads. the room was very comfortable although we did ...

The Design Hotel is a great place to stay if you're in Chennai. The ground floor opens to the new Phoenix Market City shopping mall plaza which is pretty unique in that it boasts all the leading international brands so nothing is fake. On weekends they often have live music events in the plaza. More importantly, the staff at this hotel are exceptionally friendly an...

Whenever going to Chennai for business trip, I only stay in Citrus Hotel. The service is much more better than the hotel I used to stayed nearby. Moreover, it is away from the busy & dusty main road. The environment is cleaner than other near roadside Hotels. I always recommend to my friends who go to Chennai near SIPCOT Industrial area to stay at Citrus Hotel.

I would return to this hotel in the future, as it is clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Had some problem about check-out, but caused by misunderstanding, so not a real drawback. Security was, of course, not 100%, but reasonable and a genuine effort was made, though probably anyone planning major harm would not be greatly deterred. Not the fanciest hotel in C...

Hi i stay at this location for 3 days, I have done booking through agoda.com, i have paid agoda 7800Rs and i got bill from MWC club is of 6000RS, Saying Agoda has given them this much amount only. i said thats not my problem but they are not ready to listen and saying we will give bill for what we got from AGODA. In this case i have to spend 2000rs from my pocket. I am...

Nice rooms, even though it looked old from outside, interior was perfect, the mini zoo was extraordinary and unique we got to spend time feeding cattles, goats, rabbits, ducks, parrot, dove, guinea pig. Although the first impression of the lobby was disappointing, the check-in procedure was quite efficient. The room was well designed and the bed/pillows were very comfortable giving a good night's sleep. Response from House Keeping was prompt and smiling, and from room service efficient and food tasty. Lots of choice at the buffet breakfast, but the fried bacon was dis...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights after a visit to Chennai and had my 22 year old daughter and a friend with us. Our room was 609 and was set furthest away from the sea but a more modern room, very comfortable. The girls were in an older style room closer to the sea front (521) but it was still a good standard. Had very bad experience in the restaurant on...

I have visited STARWOOD Group of Hotels Multiple Times globally. This is the worst ALOFT Hotel. Mosquitoes in Lobby and even in the room. Hotel room daily necessities not available readily. it will be made available only upon request. This is the 1st time I am seeing this kinda standard in ALOFT HOTEL. Staff were slow but this may be due to their country customary prac...

It was my first time to Chennai and staying at this Novotel. It was the closest to my training venue. So location for me was good. I did not explore much, just for the workshop. The staff at the hotel were extremely polite and helpful, always with smiles. The room was relatively big and clean. Food was good too. except there are more choices in the room service menu ...

Our first stay on this apart hotel, we thought it was really great. The room is clean and tv has english channels, though the room is quite small than other rooms in other hotels, but it’s ok. Food- the breakfast buffet offer indian cuisine only and we loved their dosa! The same restaurant - Hola, offers great mexican inspired food. We loved their Mexican chicken tor...

Stayed for two nights as part of a business trip. This is a really nice business hotel. While I do not know whether I should call it as a "five star" hotel (may be the government has lowered standards/ ambiance required for 5 star!), I would consider it as a great place for business stay. The best part of this hotel is its staff. Room service staff were very quick in ...

Overall this is a decent hotel in fairly good location. But don't let the grand appearance of the driveway and lobby fool you. The staff service is at best average, while any poolside service is deplorable. Twice to took +30min for anyone to take an order, and when we did give them a sexond chance, it took almost an hour before a simple soup/salad/sandwich appeared. Br...

A great hotel with excellent management. Great experience started with my pre-booking inquiries by emails. Of the three 5-star hotels I contacted, Hilton was the most responsive, giving the most detailed information on tours and car service on the same day. Room size is good, not particularly big, but very clean and comfortable. Lighting is just right - bright but ...

I would rate this place as one of the most professionally operated places among all hotels and service apartments in Chennai. And if you want all five star comforts, facilities and features......even better than many five star hotels .....at a significantly lower cost, do try this place out, it is an amazing experience. The entire service apartment complex is impeccab...

I stayed at this hotel twice on my trip to Chennai (trip to Pondicherry in between). The hotel is close to the airport and is a nice hotel. The staff are fantastic. In particular, Isaac (with the bell desk) went out of his way on both visits to make sure all was OK, checking on my flights to Mumbai to see if they were on time (heavy rain), etc. He was very attentiv...

3 day stay in Chennai was spent in the hotel as travel was not possible due to floods - all meetings cancelled. However, the hotel is fantastic - gym is great, pool is fab and food is great. You can always depend upon the TAJ group - Chennai was underwater that god I was floating in a Taj hotel!

I have been a visitor to the Connamarra for some twenty or more years, this is one hotel in Chennai that I keep going back to. Resturants have been consistenly good, the staff always obliging and friendly, very clean, pool and garden, very well cared for. I am sure any discerning traveller would appreciate this hotel.

The hotel is beautifully situated close to Chennai and a short drive from Mallabapuram UNESCO listed site. We have a wonderful experience here which started with our welcome and staff quickly finding a room for our early check in. The staff continued to go out of their way to make our stay comfortable and sought to assist in all respects. The cottage was generously...

Really enjoyed our stay at The Elite Grand Hotel. Everything from the check in to the check out was organised and the service never missed to please the customers. Impeccable Cleanliness every where in the property. Their package including the food was really worth to each buck paid. Excellent selection of foods available in the buffet. Rooms had every thing detailed ...

We went to Chennai to see one of the IPL matches over extended weekend. We reached Taj early morning and without requesting we were given our rooms by 9 am and even upgraded to a superior room. We chose Gateway IT Expressway Hotel because it was closer to Mamalipuram ancient stone monuments and Dakshina Chitra heritage village than Chennai city madness. Only had 2 touring days so Pondicherry next time. Hotel was clean, functional with very obliging staff. Hotel tours/transfers were pricey but probably worth it for security & convenience.

What Can I say? It is my home state. I cannot say something to devalue the city. I am seeing this city since 1983.
My native language is Tamil. Tamil is one of first language in this world. Please refer google Tamil Language.
Big, busy city. It is an amazing city with amazing people. I love it here, I have come to Chennai 3 times in 2015.
Chennai is good for shopping, dining and sight seeing. Chennai is crowed city. Hot, humid and dusty.
Chennai is congested and traffic laws are in the hands of the driver. Amazingly hardly any accidents.
If going to Chennai and you miss something like shopping mall where there is good place to eat and air conditioning, remember to visit Phoenix mall (biggest shopping mall in Chennai) or Express Avenue shopping mall.
