"Out of the 9 hotels that we stayed in during our travels in India, I can safely say that Estrela Do Mar was the best, especially when considering the price we paid for the Executive double room was more or less the same amount we had paid for a lot of the other places we had stayed in previous to arriving in Goa. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is just a couple steps from the beach..however I don´t know if this is a good thing or bad thing as the first and last time we went to the beach, we were swarmed by women trying to sell us things who proceeded to follow us down the beach when we tried to get away. Staying in Calungute is a good thing to do, you have the village just a short walk away and there are plenty of little shops and restaurants to check out. If you would like to head to Panaji (the ´city centre´there are plenty of people outside the hotel offering to rent out scooters (be careful though, make sure you have an international driving license even though they tell you it´s not necessary and make sure the driver rides with a helmet outside on the main roads between villages and the city. We got fined) For suspicious people, it might be good to know that there is a crematorium a minutes walk away from the hotel...a slightly surprising discovery after we had arrived at the hotel and wondered where all of the smoke was coming from and no hint of a barbecue smell. We just dealt with it though but it was a little strange! Apart from those minor points, we had a fantastic stay, it´s a great hotel! check it out!"

"if you are staying in panaji, stay here! it is excellent and worth it. however, the wifi is a bit of a trouble because only 1 person is allowed to access it at one time and inconvenient since 2 of us need to use it to contact home or use it to book our next hotels etc. overall, it is still very clean and nice, staff are friendly and helpful. there is a nice shirt shop selling really funky shirts too and hotel provides water to refill which is eco-friendly. enjoyed our stay tremendously. down-the-road is a great place to chill and eat/drink which is just 15minutes walk away cross a bridge. great location because it is near the bus terminal and behind the hotel is the newly opened library which has an outstanding collection and good to pass-time in event that you have time to spare, give the library a visit! love ginger goa, outstanding."
