"It was a business trip when I stay in this hotel. The experience was both relaxing and enjoyable. The room is clean and service is good. The lack of extra facilities such as gym and swimming pool were made up with a tasty spread of breakfast. The staff was very helpful particularly Eddie. He went the extra miles to find 50 euros of coins for me to purchase train ticket from the machine. Without this I will not be able to travel to the airport on time in the early morning. The location is not too far from city and can be reached by 15 mins walk. Indeed, it is highly recommended for a stay in Groningen!"

"If you are first time visitor to Netherlands better not to Bastion Hotel your first choice. Most staff perform the 'tick in box' service. Smile / greet / welcome done, the the service from the heart is missing. The following are the reasons: 1- No one at the reception as we entered. 'Ring the bell' look out for the notice and follow instructions. 2- I asked the lady to the breakfast table if the orange freshly squeezed, the sarcastic smile ensued and she said " yes, fresh from the tetra pack ". 3- The loose rubber mat at the entrance to revolving door usually gets dragged with your trolley bag and blocks revolving door from revolving and also locks us in the middle. 4- Distance from the city means no Uber or Taxis are available the only commute is bus. The bus stops right in from of the Hotel. "
