Where to stay in Inle Lake
Inle Lake hotels & accommodations

it was just right after a storm so most tourist in inle lake cancelled with almost most hotels in the area including this one, turned out we were the only guests. it was awesome since no one blocked any of the gorgeous views in the hotel and places around inle. the hotel is great due to location. it's located at major water way so lots of boats pass thru it. this might...

We had a great time at ANANTA Inle Lake. By far it was the best hotel we have stayed in so far. The hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning views over the lake, but what made it really special were the people that work there. The rooms and premises were kept sparkling clean; morning breakfast buffet spread had a lot of choice and was healthy and equally deliciou...

The hotel is amazing. The location is perfect. The only one minus - it was quite cold in the room since we were in cool season and the temperature was 16 C. Villa room has joist ceiling that is quite high. Due to big room space it was impossible to heat the room by air conditioner and we were freezing all the time. I suggest to take warm clothes like pullovers, jacket...

This is an amazing hotel in Inle lake. The staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were also very nice. They upgraded us to a pool side room which was nice. the pool was very clean and the breakfast was great. There's so much food for breakfast that I feel bad I couldn't finish all my food. The staff was very friendly and helped arranged for airport pickup a...

My husband and I booked the Novotel Inle Lake hotel while we were in Yangon. Somehow I had issue with the booking dates and had difficulties connecting to Agoda UK and U.S for assistance. The staff at Novotel were patient in handling my case and assisted to liaise with Agoda Singapore to make the necessary changes. We were very thankful that we managed to checked in. ...

By any standard, Sanctum Inle delivers an excellent experience from the meet, greet and transfer at the airport, the welcome on arrival and buggy transfer to the room and through the whole stay. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the resort which is only 2 years old. It exceeded our expectations, which are quite high. Our room was at the far end of the re...

Since I booked during the off month, my request for early checkin of 6am was accommodated. I was able to explore Inle Lake as early as 7am when the heat was not that scorching! My time was maximized. I felt like a VIP. Every time I left the hotel, the staff lined up and greeted me with warm wishes. You need an ATM? No worries as this is a feet away from the hotel. At...

This new hotel has everything, huge rooms, great restaurants, cool swimming pools, great spa and great views. The price suits the high level of the hotel. You can get boat and market trips to close locations and even though the airport is not close the distance gives you an unique location. The only negative comment is for the boat driver that didn't wanted to go to the...

The hotel has two sides. We stayed in a beautifully decorated family villa on the garden side. We had some problems with our tour operator when an airport taxi that we had booked did not arrive. The staff and the manager were very helpful and made a series of phone calls to get us to the airport on time - even as far as calling the airline to let them know we could be ...

The place is very comfortable! What makes it unique is the staffs in the hotel. They are so friendly and helpful. Also, the place is close by to all the attractions at Inle Lake by boat. But it is far from the mainland town Nyaung Shwe, which is the main access point to Inle Lake. You need a boat to ferry you around. If you want to stay close by to the lake, this is th...

Aquarius Inn is one of our best stays in Myanmar. The hotel is great! Especially the warmly and genuine friendly staff is something you dont find everywhere. The breakfast is different every morning, home cooked and of great taste. Offered with a great smile! One evening I told them that tofu noodles soup is my favourite birmese breakfast and they got us exactly this f...

This hotel definitely added to our amazing experience in Inle Lake. The staff were so friendly on arrival, and made us feel welcome. We arrived at 6am on the overnight bus, and they let us check in early which was really great of them. I had food poisoning at the time so it was a relief not to have to wait until 2pm that day! We used their bikes for free to explore the...

Super attentive staff, spacious rooms, comfy pillows, delicious breakfast and large, hot showers. For the price, this new resort can't be beat. Although it's a bit outside of the town, it's an easy 5-10 minute bike ride (the hotel loans bikes free of charge) anywhere in the small town. The staff members were all wonderful- helping us book our inle lake tour, offering a...

The hotel is located mid-way down the east coast on Inle Lake - having traveled to Myanmar's biggest and most beautiful Inn Daw Gyi in Kachin State twice I wanted to avoid the mainstream crowds that throng around northern Inle Lake. For the kid of traveler who likes solitude, serenity and something special GIC Thale-U hits the spot perfectly - the location is tricky t...

We were allowed to check in early (we arrived from Pyin Oo Lwin by bus at 4.15 am, and they let us to get into and use the room at around 5 AM. There were 4 other people coming around the same time like us, and they also had the same treatment). The price that they gave us were good (we had the whole day boat trip to Inle Lake for 22000 kyats and 20000 kyats for a tax...

This is the best hostel in the area for backpacker for sure! I traveled in group of 5 people. I took the night bus from Bagan to Inle and arrived so early (at 5AM). Everyone was so tired during the long bus trip (because the road was so bad so we could not sleep), luckily Ostello Bello has the shared room for every guest who come early to sleep when waiting for check i...

I did an extensive search on hotels in Inle area before finally booking Amata Garden hotel. I have absolutely no regrets. It's a fantastic hotel. The villas that we stayed had everything needed for a comfortable stay for a few days. We stayed two nights. I wish we could stay longer. The boat ride to the hotel was a great introduction to a great place. If you are visiti...

We like this hotel very much. It's very new and everything is nice and very clean. Buffet breakfast is good. About 10 mins walk from the pier. Many restaurants and massage places near the hotel. The only problem is WiFi is weak if your room is located on higher floors. Our room was in 301 and we had to stand at our bedroom door to get decent WiFi signal. Great value & ...

We had wonderful time at Spring Lodge, we arrive very early in the morning and they let us check in and for check out...they allow us to use the room till late due to the fact that our bus was leaving late. Great customer service. They also let us use their bycicle which we enjoyed very much. So I will definetly stay there again if back in Inle Lake.

I have traveled and lived in Myanmar since 2012 and Inle Lake View Resort and Spa was by far the best hotel I have stayed in. We stayed here during a visit of my parents who were celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary. We had two adjacent rooms on the top floor of the main building and the views of the lake and Shan hills were spectacular. We loved the dining exp...

Great first impressions. At the top of the town, but easy walk to restaurants and a longer walk to the boat dock for lake trips. Bridge over canal leads to the outside reception and rooms all facing on to the garden and canal. Large comfy room with an absolutely huge bed! Friendly staff helped us re confirm flights without a charge. Early breakfasts allowed us to eat b...

Pros: 24hr service (?), amazing breakfast (weekend options vs week buffet), hot shower water (wait a minute), appears clean, pool if you like, wifi, air con, even dormitory has privacy with curtains between every bunk bed. Cons: wasn't exactly sure how they charged me because I paid through Agoda but they also wanted kyats?, Power is out half the time, toilets struggl...

The hotel is awesome, we arrived at 6 am and the girls of staff let us check in early. The room is really good, clean towels sheets everything was perfect. The girls of the staff are wonderful always with they beautiful smile, friendly and helpful to answer all our doubts, they where really wonderful with us. Breakfast it's really good. After check out the let us use th...

We loved our stay at this hotel, and in Inle Lake in general! The hotel arranged a lot of fun stuff to do, including our boat tour, and loaned us free bikes for our bike trip around the lake! The views from the upstairs restaurant were unreasonably gorgeous and we loved basking in them with the free breakfast every morning. The room was comfortable, clean and airy and ...

This resort lives up to its name "sanctuary". It's located in Sankar Lake which is connected to Inle Lake by a narrow passage. The boat trip to the resort, although long (3 hours), is a scenic ride and well worth the time. Once you arrive you would be greeted by the owner Aung Min and his lovely staff. Before we even met Aung Min went out of his way and bought baby na...

This was definitely a great experience when travelling to Inle Lake region. The moment you walk in the lobby you are greeted warmly and made to feel special. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help. The personalized touches were nice and not cookie cutter typical hotel. This really felt like an experience. My room was very comfortable, large and clean. ...
Cheap places to stay in Inle Lake

We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 1 night more. Very kind and nice staff, big rooms, hot water, nice breakfast. Be ready that electricity often off in this village. One day there wasn't elecricity whole day everywhere in this area. And wi-fi is very weak. But I like this place. Good view from rooftop, not far from market, comfortable beds!

i was here for 2 nights. It is really recommended Guest House for tourist want to enjoy inle lake. the guesthouse is clean, quite and comfortable place to have a rest. Guesthouse offerrs travel tours to inle lake with cheap price and recommend also to share with others guests so can really get good price and great tours to lake and enjoy travels woth boats whole day. Hotel is small but warm and clean. Staff are so incredible, they are friendly and helpful. We booked 2 rooms in Exotic Inn, but after they knew we had to leave Inle lake before 19:00, they agreed to cancel 1 room for us, they even prepared free breakfast for us (5 people) even though we just booked 1 triple room. For me, it's so so so wonderful. It is only 1 negativ...

This place is rather simple but it's a good choice for budget accommodation in Inle Lake. Clean room, friendly staff and great location close to the pier. Breakfast is fulling and freshly made. There are many places in the town so I'm not sure if it offers the best value but I have no regrets staying there.

Autentic ancient village of smile and helpful people. Unforgotable stay enfront of the river where we enjoy swimming with villagers. Unique. 10000 Indein famous pagodas are 10mimutes walk. We went to Kyarton PA OH mountain ectinic village 5km. Fantastic school childrens, women in ther traditional dress and mountain view from mountain top are amazing. Peaceful water fal...

At first, i only booked there for 3nights, but i ended up extend my stay for 2more nights. If you are looking for some quiet hostel to stay in, this is for you! free breakfast (shan noodle and coffee, tea) Clean room, toilet ( a worker clean it every morning) Friendly staff 30sec walking distance to local market 1min walking distance to the main streets Quite a lot c...

This is such a lovely place! I can't say enough good things about the family who runs this guesthouse. They were so friendly, and went out of their way to help us make some complicated bookings for trekking and transportation. It seemed almost like a homestay :) I think there are different rooms based on the price, but ours was wonderful. Clean, big, comfortable bed,...

After spend one week i feel like at home ..the owner couple so nice ... i came at 6am and let me check in and the best i book room no toilet and she give to me a really very nice room ... the price for what yoy get is best in town for sure .. also inle lake many tourist hotels and this one is autentic inle lake hotel ... the ubication ist just great much better than b...

5 mins walk from some great restaurants along the main road but as the hotel is just off on a side road there is no road noise. Really friendly staff, a cute puppy and a pretty roof terrace for breakfast. clean comfortable and well located. Property also offers plenty of activities and excursions out onto Inle lake. I would happily stay here again.

Simply put, if you’re heading to Inle Lake this is the best hostel around and probably the best hostel in Myanmar. Slightly more expensive than other hostels in the area but you definitely get what you pay for. Clean, incredibly comfy pod beds give you your own private space, fastest WiFi in Myanmar without doubt (I could actually use Netflix!), free delicious breakfas...

This hotel is in the corner of the town but it's only a 5 minute walk to the market. In the afternoon you can go out and play with the neighbor kids. I booked a bed in 2 private-bed room. But since it was low season I ended up having a whole room for my own. The room is clean and the bed is really comfortable. Breakfast is bread with egg, jam, butter,... The hotel is...

Great location, walking distance from the bus stop which is next to the city entrance. Staff can speak English well, they are friendly and attentive. We stayed one night in the superior room and 1 night in the standard. Both rooms have big bathrooms and a balcony, but the superior one is bigger and has a fridge. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel but we didn't like bei...

We arrived at 6am and were able to check in to our room right away. The owner is definitely not the most friendly person but at that time we didn't expect more. And we were incredible happy to be able to sleep before exploring inle lake. The room was great, with a balcony and nice wi fi. They offered us a boat tour for a cheaper price then the rest of the tours houses ...

This hotel is relatively new and has lovely staff who were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I had a room with a gorgeous little balcony with breathtaking views of the surrounds. Good value for money. Location is nice and quiet as it's down a dirt road of maybe 500m from the main street but not a long walk. My room could have done with a wipe over but I think it'...

I booked a double room for USD 19 and it was the best deal I made during my one-month-trip in the country. The room was basic but clean, with good beds, a little cosmetic table, rail and coat hangers. There was an air-con and a ceiling fan available and there's also a small porch with chairs and a small table in front of the room. The bathroom was clean, however, and t...

I truly feel peaceful during my stay at Remember Inn. It was so calm. The boss was truly helpful and nice. He helped me to book the tour for Inle lake and Kakku Pagoda. Only 10 minutes after, the driver was already at the hotel and waited for me. I especially love their breakfast too. It was not a buffet as it usually was in other hotels but you can choose one (or mor...

This hotel in Inle Lake was our best quality-money ratio while in Myanmar. The room was spacious with windows towards the interiour court. A wall of big flower pots was covering the view, creating a sense of intimacy. Good breakfast, but service very slow. The shared showers were clean, but not the toilet, as the kids of the staff were using it too and they only use...

Stayed here to meet a friend who already booked. Was worried about the poor reviews. Arrived at 530 am and was greeted by the staff and directed to bed. The early check in was amazing, felt like a free night. The hotel is old and a little run down but very stayable. Spent three nights with you issue. Not even a bug sighting. Very hot showers. Warning to ppl, L...

This was one of the nicest guest houses I stayed at in Myanmar. Overall accommodation is very pricy, so this was a great find and relatively good value compared to what else I was getting for this price elsewhere in Myanmar. Very clean and good sized rooms. The included breakfast was very good. The staff were very attentive (almost too much, asking every few minutes if...

My friend and I were looking for a budget friendly accommodation in Nyaung Shwe as we explore the famous Inle lake destination. This hotel is 1-2 star hotel (with that being said, if you are looking for a fancy ambience, fancy food, fancy room then you gotta be booking with Best Western). This hotel provides the basic amenities: clean, comfortable beds, decent room and...

Ko Sai, the hostel manager (and the other staff) are very friendly and go above and beyond to help and make you feel welcome. Ko Sai was kind enough to drop me to the train station very early in the morning free of charge and help with a problem with the ticket. The hostel is modern for Myanmar with decent bathrooms, power and light by each bunk and storage for luggag...

Room was gorgeous and new - fashionably decorated. Large. Big problem: how noisy were the engines from the boats on the river. Although it's nice to have river view, it's way too noisy until it gets dark and boats stop running. Opt for a room facing away from the river. Also, it was very cold in the room and up on the breakfast terrace. It warms up in Inle Lak...

I would Highly recommend that anyone travelling to Inle Lake in Myanmar visit this hotel. We took a 30-40 minute boat ride from Nyaung Shwe... and it was amazing. I could have lived at this hotel! Inle Lake is one of those very special places on earth that you will never forget. The views from this hotel are stunning. We had the Lake Front view, and it was worth every ...

If you want to enjoy the sunrise on Inle lake in a confortable resort, Ann Heritage Lodge will seduce you. A very sympathique staff, the feeling to be in the nature directly on lake, nice and confortable bungalow, and a very clean and refreshing swimming pool to relax. We spend three days there, and hope to be back someday.

Nice resort in inle lake, room is spacious,. A place to disconnect from the TV n internet,, wifi not available in the room yet, so you need to go to the lobby if you want to ride on Wi-Fi, can arrange with resort for cruise in inle. Overall a nice place to retrea, away from the bustling crowd in the city

This is a simply wonderful place with its own tranquil lake. The lakeside villas are so peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. The size and standard of the rooms are excellent. It is a place of calm. The new general manager Tom was very friendly and efficient and has plans to improve further. We took their Inle Lake tour and thoroughly recommend it - a very personal service...

The staff are so nice. Room is clean and spacious. Nice swimming pool, good food. The location is is not at the center but just front of the Inle lake that you can see the beautiful sunset from the resort and really enjoy your stay. Just a problem that we csme in the early morning but can not call the reception with the phone from Agoda, then I had to find contact on ...

Beautiful setting by lake. New hotel - lovely villas. Staff excellent - could not do enough to hep/assist. Beautiful pool area Out of main town and so need to eat in hotel - but food good and reasonable prices. Very relaxing and quiet. Arrange us an excellent boat trip on Inle lake - so worth seeing. Prices expensive for Mandalay but worth it.

Real reviews for hotels
We stayed here 2 days: 1st days for the Boat-trip on the lake 2nd days for the Temple, cafe shop, restaurant, the RED MOUNTAIN with the WINERY and take a walk
If you are travelling around Myanmar for the first time, this is one of the places to visit. The boat rides with the visits to the work shops and interesting sites are a must with friendly staff and people.
The boottrip Should be done by any tourist coming to this area.price in jan 2016 was 15.000Ky per person.
We only stayed 1 night, but would have preferred 2-3. Very relaxing place with amazing sights and unique culture.
Area is very nice, different from all other places in Myanmar, boat trip on the lake probably a must, worth to see several sightseeing and the daily life on the lake, as well as the countryside areas closed to the lake.
The scenery around the lake is very beautiful. We can see fisherman fishing, floating market, floating garden with tomato plants, birds flying across your head, blue sky with different cloud patterns.
So many shops inside the lake. Better visit this lake with a local member then you may find what you need in there.
Inle Lake is not a town! Stayed in Nyuangshwe at the north of the lake. Has a backpacker feel to it with some nice restaurants and local hotels.
Don't pay the $10 entrance fee! It's extortion and discrimination against foreigners. My Burmese girlfriend didn't have to pay, so why should we? Just to access a town where people live? Everyone refuse and let's cause some change
in one day you may see a lot butg not all. do not forget to see inle town itself. here you need one day as well
The weather was surprisingly awesome at this area. The view is beautiful and the villages living on Inle lake was something I have not experienced before, with the floating farms, and pagodas on water.
Really beautiful location - mountain and lakes. Was surprised to find out that lotus's fibre can also be used to make clothing - it is very expensive, though.
A wonderful place to visit where you can relax and enjoy tranquility of this area which appears to be in balance with the nature.
I think this is the best part about Myanmar. It is very picturesque, relaxing and a romantic place. Would recommend staying in one of the resorts in the lake and there are some good hiking spots near Inle Lake.
It's OK they are very used to tourists here unlike a lot of other places in Myanmar so a lot of thngs are over priced.
Calm lake and beautiful mountain. The other main attraction is one leg fisherman paddling the boat. When travelling in Inle Lake, do remember to wear a hat as the afternoon Sun is very hot.
Inle lake is beautiful but having a whole day in the lake is not neccessary. Half day tour is better.
The lake is very special. A lot of the activities are on the lake, but there are also very good opportunities for biking and trekking and visiting places around Inle/ Nyaungshwe.
The lake is very nice and the area very green, nevertheless, besides taking a bike tour and a boat tour on the lake, there is nothing much more you can do, besides relaxing in a nice hotel of course.
Lovely oasis in the heat. Lush and green and a complete change fro Mandalay or Bagan. One of the cleanist places in Myanmar.
This area is beautiful. My recommendations are to hire a boat and spend a day on the lake visiting the floating gardens (great for bird watchers like ourselves!), the weaving village and temples.
Inle Lake has amazing sights with its lake and villages around it. It is also an amazing place for trekking with beautiful villages and landscape.
Wonderful place to experience the unique life of the locals living around Inle Lake. Lots of shopping and sightseeing attractions around the lake.
For Nyaungshwee (town name) no much to do, you just need 1 day for boat trip and half day for cycling to see things around the town.
Beautiful views from all sides of the lake and from the water. Make sure you go up to the Red Mountain winery for the great view from there.
It was April, but the weather was not exceptionally hot. Life on the lake is lovely. Very relaxing visit.
A beautiful part of Myanmar, very remote and close to nature but a bit too inaccessible.Any trip to the closest town or sights to see comes in at a hefty $15,although that does cover a boat for the day and a designated boatman for the day.
We were blown away with how beautiful the lake is. The highlight is definitely the boat trip through the floating village and watching the fisherman.
Interesting for the way fisherman in this lake do the fishing with their legs. Many handcrafts are also worth to visit especially the lotus weaving.
Inle Lake and the surrounding area is the only place where you can experience the unique Intha ethnic culture.
