"Stayed for the first night in Khao Yai, didn't regret a single bit, my hubby & I were greeted warmly by the staffs once we alighted from the car. The check-in process was a breeze and they had a buggy to escort us to our room with our baggage. The room was clean and brightly lit, one thing I have to say, the bed was AWESOME, softness was just nice and it gave me a great good night sleep. Breakfast was equally great, I love the variety, simple and easy. Need honey for your pancakes? Well, they have the whole piece of HONEYCOMB waiting for you. The perfect kind of vacation. As I'm writing this, I am already missing the congee. The only con will be the traveling distance as it is pretty far drive in. But nonetheless would definitely want to go back again if I am visiting Khao Yai again, hope it reminds the same! "

Botanica Khao Yai Resort
Khao Yai National Park,Khao Yai - View on map
"My husband and I "hid" in Botanica Khao Yai Resort for 3 days to unwind in silence. We didn't regret our choice of accommodation! The aesthetics of the resort is fantastic, so is the service by the staff. Although the breakfast buffet spread wasn't very huge, they made an effort to serve good food. Out of the 3 breakfasts we had there, Thai food was served only on our first morning (and I'm not sure why). The staff was generous enough to provide us with a free upgrade of room because the lift on our building was down - not sure if this will happen if they are fully booked, as it was non peak during our stay. Some things can be improved on: 1) The water from the taps and showers smell heavily chlorinated. It shouldn't have *that* much chlorine if you're going to brush your teeth, shower, boil water for drinking, etc. 2) The shower heads and taps need major descaling. It's a pity that the conditions are like this, considering how nice the building exterior and interior look. 3) The towels (hand, floor, bath, face) don't absorb a lot of water and a lot of fabric fibre come out of the towels, resulting in a dirty floor. 4) We had dinner at Tempo Restaurant (in-house restaurant) on our final night. After so many rounds of good food in various Khao Yai restuarants, dinner at Tempo was just an extremely terrible experience. The Tom Yum Soup I ordered was served warm (not hot) and with prawns that were not fresh. I could mash the prawn meat with my spoon and it was flattened almost immediately. My husband's dish came with super hard rice - barely edible. It looked like it was the last bit of dried up rice at the bottom of the rice cooker."

Recall Isaan Isan Concept at Khaoyai (SHA Extra Plus)

"Great staff, good breakfast and nice resort! We booked the resort at a great deal, so it is really value for money. The resort is located near to Khao Yai National Park Entrance. The staff is really helpful and friendly. I accidentally left my items at the resort, they took the extra miles to reach me and send it back to me. The only feedback is that the air condition was not working very well on our 2nd night stay. But it does not affect us much. Highly recommend anyone to stay here when visiting Khao Yai"

"Hotel landscape was absolutely beautiful with complete resemblance to Tuscany. Restaurants on site were good and infinity pool had fantastic views. Golf course on site was also beautiful. Will definitely revisit again if back in Khao Yai. "

Toscana Piazza by Toscana Valley
Khao Yai National Park,Khao Yai - View on map
"if you go for the top floor you will be in for an amazing walk around 360 degree view which is stunning at best, this is absolutely the highlight of the property however there are issues that cheapen the experience -the layout feels cheap, they clearly cut corners with the furniture and bathroom -the bathroom had a terrible odor coming from the plumbing -the breakfast was seriously lacking, you have to travel by car to get to it and overall it was very cheap not to the hotels standard -Town Center is amazing and has a beautiful layout with lots to do and see plus once opened nice restuarants and coffee. If your into selfies, this place is a dream -The pool at Town Center is also amazing -If your into golf, the property has an amazing course for a fairly reasonable price -The bike rental and trail is a huge plus I would suggest only one night at Piazza for the view, then move to the hotel at Town Center as its to a much higher standard and around most of the fun of the property"

"First of all, the check-in and -out were very smooth and quick. The receptionist was great and introduced everything we need very well. The location is closed to many restaurants and attractions, including the entrance of Khao Yai national park. The view from the balcony of the room is stunning with lake and khao Yai mountain range in the backdrop. The room has all the facilities as a 4 star hotels should have. If there is one thing I think this hotel still lack but should have is a more extensive cable TV programmes, now it has mostly Thai free TV channels, or at least it should have a smart TV so guest can use online streaming (e.g., Netflix). Some parts of the room need repair, for instance, both bathroom doors are very difficult to lock due to swollen wood, but we didn't bother to inform the hotel this time. Anyway, bar few problems state above, in overall the room is very spacious and comfortable. The room wasn't well cleaned when when we arrived and during our stay. The main facilities such as bed, bathroom dishes were fine, but the desk in front of TV and some floor area were dusty. Although the staff were very nice to every request, but they seemed to don't have time to complete all the tasks in time as this was the long weekend, so I would say this issue is the managerial one because when we were here last time during weekdays the room cleanliness was not an issue. To add to this long weekend problem, the towels didn't get changed right away when the staff came cleaning the room, but it came in the evening instead, which we were told that the laundry hadn't finish yet. Nevertheless, staff were nice and tried to do their best and also answerable to our needs, just that, understandably, a lot of guest at the same time made it difficult to them to attend details. The breakfast was very great, with varieties of selection. Again, due to a lot of guest during this long weekend, we needed to queue for around 10 mins each day to enter, but no problem with t"

U Khao Yai

"I’d recommend U Khao Yai to anyone thinking of staying in Khao Yai. Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and beautiful; the shower even had seating! So lovely to return to after a long day out. Travelling as a family we appreciated the connecting rooms. The landscape and architecture was so lovely that we went out to the balcony even though it was cold out. Cute hammock swings were all around the hotel. Friendly cats sometimes roamed the front garden. The breakfast is the best out of the 3 hotels we stayed at on this trip; croissants actually tasted like how they should. Room service was speedy. The front desk staff were great. In particular, Ms Nok was very helpful in advising us on visiting the national park and in finding us a driver for that. My only regret is not having enough time to explore the hotel grounds! 100% U Khao Yai would be my first choice if I were to revisit Khao Yai. "

Thames Valley Khao Yai Hotel (SHA Plus+)
Khao Yai National Park,Khao Yai - View on map
"2 group couple of us went Khao Yai for honeymoon trip and we have choosen Thames Valley as 1 of our hotel to over the night. With other comparison, we wouldnt denied to say that Thames is the best hotel we stay ever in Khao Yai, providing it's environment, hospitality service and etc. The price is bit high than usual hotel but i can guarantee you, it will be worth for the value. Once we arrive at the hotel, it has strict security to ensure the hotel guest safety then there will be buggy service to help you move your luggage into room. Our first sight to the reception and rooms was like you went to a english country style feeling which make you feel just like a day king and queen. Everything was perfect, room was surprisingly set up with honeymoon deco which extra thumbs up for them. The environment is extremely good. The another thing impressed us a lot is their breakfast buffet, with the wide selection of menu choices coming with selection of tea and coffee. "

Lala Mukha Tented Resort Khao Yai (SHA Extra Plus)
Khao Yai National Park,Khao Yai - View on map
"We spent one night at this tented resort, as we were a bit uncertain due to some skeptical reviews. To sum up: it was a great experience, absolutely worth the money and the time. The resort has a very nice, very clean pool overlooking Khao Yai scenery (some reviews said there is no pool, which is wrong). There was absolutely no noise from the nearby road (another point mentioned in some reviews). Food was good at both breakfast and dinner (as some reviews were critical about the restaurant). We also enjoyed a nice open fire on Saturday evening. Shared bathroom facilities are very clean with separate shower rooms and overall five star quality. It was a very unique experience, our kids loved it. Definitely a highlight of our Thailand trip. "

More about Khao Yai

Khao Yai was Thailand’s first established national park and is the country’s second largest. Set in Thailand’s north, the natural beauty and serenity of the area draws in both domestic and foreign visitors every year. Khao Yai is best reached by bus or train, a journey of about three hours from Bangkok.

The park’s bat and gibbon population are some of the main draws to the area. A cave on the edge of the park is home to some one million bats, and their nightly migration makes for quite a site. Treks and night safaris are likely to reveal an abundance of other wildlife, including elephants, tigers, and bears. This UNESCO World Heritage site is also home to over 320 species of birds and 3,000 species of plants.

When not becoming one with nature, visitors gravitate towards the golf course and wineries. The park’s waterfalls are definitely top attractions, even making an appearance in movies, most noticeably The Beach. Hiking, day and night safari tours, and camping can be enjoyed and easily arranged at most hotels. Accommodation in Khao Yai ranges from jungle bungalows to fully-fledged luxury resorts. The wet season is the greatest time to visit, as the cooler season could see the waterfalls slow to a drip.
