"We booked the hotel with Agoda.com - including a free upgrade to a privacy cottage. I wouldnt recommend paying extra for a beach facing villa because you are facing the pool then the beach so you dont get any privacy in your room - privacy cottages are set back a little, we were in room 9004 which was on West Railay as the numbers get higher you are heading to East Railay which isnt as nice. If you read any comments about the staff then i would ignore them - i would say that the island has mixed cultures from the surrounding countries. The thai people are lovely and yes some of the other staff that work their are little abrupt but i would ignore it We got to the hotel via traveling from Krabi airport to ao nang via taxi (500bhart) and then longtail boat to west Railay - be aware of low tide and having to wade out in the sea with bags - it cost 100 bhart each and goes when 8 or more people were ready. Recommend only looking at hotels on West Railay if you want the beautiful scenery - hence why East railay is cheaper and to be honest smells with sewage. The tide goes at lunch leaving a muddy shore behind. I think this part of the island is the trade entrance for the hotels. Boat ride from Railay to Krabi 45mins longtail boat - nothing really worth visiting in the town - would suggest Ao Nang for shopping and if you need western shops this is your place. Hired a longtail boat for half a day 1600 bhart - island hoping around chicken island and Pra Nang Beach worth exploring - Ko Phi Phi is at least 2.30hrs away via longtail boat. Rayavadee Hotel is a must for dinner for at least 1 night - it is one of the top 100 places to stay in the world and whilst it is expensive to sleep their the restaurant is good value - you pay about £30 for wine compared to about £10 back home but to be honest we were sick of Singha beer towards the end of our tip. I would say that the Railay Bay resort which is next door to Rayavadee is the second best hotel on the Island es"

"This was our first trip to Thailand and we stayed at this resort for 5 nights. We were easily able to get a public mini bus from Krabi airport to the hotel and this cost 150 baht per person. On arrival at the hotel (and throughout our stay) the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a tree top bungalow which was stunningly beautiful, huge room. I’m not sure I’ll have a bath with a view that good again! The rooms are up a steep hill but there was always a buggy with a friendly driver ready to take us up to our room. Because there’s only about 80 rooms the resort never felt busy and around the pool was always quiet and relaxing. We ate food from the restraunt twice & although the food was pleasant we mainly ate our in ao nang. Best places we found to eat outside of the hotel; jungle kitchen & Kodak kitchen. They do not sell alcohol at the hotel however there is a tesco next door and they were happy for us to bring drinks by the pool and in our room. Memories we will treasure."

"Hotel is in very good location. Good facilities. Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was ok. If you want to book any activities go to the street agencies and bargain-do not use "package" offer-more expensive and less quality. For the best place to eat-look at Trip adviser. If you want to visit other islands-super convenient place; just 3 min walking distance from hotel to the ticket office to rent long-tail boat. Ao Nang beach is not the best beach in Krabi, so get the boat and go to Railay. 5 min from Ao Nang. Also tickets are cheap. From Railay you can get a kayak boat for a few hundreds (two people) and explore the rocks, caves, and go snorkelling where are less people. Small tip: get watermelon to attract some fishes!!;) Overal: very happy about location, hotel and activities in Krabi!! P.s. Do not stay in small islands - it's boating, unless you look for peace."

"Our stay was awesome! So much so that we went to Phi Phi for a few nights, then skipped Krabi town and came back here! The pool is a little small and crowded, the check in staff can be a little slow and the eggs lady at breakfast was pretty clueless but apart from that I totally loved it here. One thing their website doesn't say is that while it's in Krabi it's only accessible by boat. We drove, and had a hard time finding the office to park our car at but we found it in the end near the jetty. Our car was safe for a period of 5 nights and parking was free. The boat ride over was cheap, but pack light because lugging a suitcase from boat to boat wears thin! When you're at Realeigh Beach Krabi (the beach this hotel is on) make sure you walk around and check out the whole area - east and west side. Tip: get up early, the beach was deserted until about 8am (so too was the breakfast buffet). Meals in the restaurant were super tasty, much more expensive than other areas but generous serves and really tasty. The hotel has an activities centre that organises great day trips - make sure you pop in there to do a day trip. A day trip to all the islands was great fun - Chicken Island etc. The boat that the hotel organised was by far the best boat out on the water that day, so while it might be a tad more expensive it was worth it. We left our wallets, keys etc on the boat and they were well looked after by the staff. They also did a head count each time we got out to swim so safety was important to them - definitely recommend doing this through the hotel. Walking Street is right next door, although pretty small so don't expect much. I'll be skipping Krabi town next time I'm in the area and heading straight here. Best hotel in Krabi I think! "

"Writing this my the roof top pool, looking out at the sea. Don't really write reviews but after a bad start in thailand and this place been a slice of luxury, I felt I owe it to others to write a review. I had a bad start in a hotel a few hotels down, which was not clean and small pool, I then moved to the princeas for only £6 more and it is like a different world. Cold towel and juice on arrival, friendly staff and a bell not to carry your bags. Big room, lovely clean modern bathroom, balcony and free water tea and coffee. 2 swimming pools, one on the roof, free towels, pool side service, mini mart and beautiful restaurant, massive buffet breakfast and free wifi in all areas of the hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. On the east side so a short safe walk to the more busy bars and then 10 min walk to the west and sunset beach. Lots of places to eat cheaply and well near buy and lots of places to book tours, found last bar the best and cheapest prices for this. Love this hotel and can't recommend enough !! "

"Before going to Krabi I read a lot of reviews (including TripAdvisor) and was amazed at the number of negative reviews. Main complaints were: shaky pier, hazardous walkway, expensive food, lack of service, unfriendly non-English speaking staff, slow drainage in the bath, to name a few. After being there I would say that we have been in a completely different place with good service, excellent food, clean rooms, etc. There some limitations which result from hotel's locations, for example the walkway - but it is like climbing up and down the stairs - no difficulty at all (I have not read a single review with complaint on central stairs of the resort - going from lobby to rooms in the upper raw - and that stairs are steeper than the walkway.) The main problem of the hotel is that some arriving guests do not quite understand where they are going and specifics of the hotel's isolated location - insufficient information both on website and on spot like it is done say in Ravadeeya for example. The hotel's prices are 2-3 times higher than in Ao Nang, but you definitely get the quality of services and food for that money. Quality of service is much higher than in most European, Mediterranean 5 star resorts, not to mention the UK and can be compared to other 5 star resorts in Thailand. The hotel in my opinion definitely lacks a proper lobby bar."
