Manchester hotels & places to stay

I would definitely reccomended this hotel, it’s stylish and has a very classy feel about it. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for her 21st Birthday midweek. However we got the room for £130 which I thought was more than enough as the normal room price is around £300. We also got a free upgrade to the Inner Sanctum suite which was a big surprise. The room was amazing, although I don’t know why they charge so much as the normal room price for this room is over £400+ for a night. I cannot fault the staff or the hotel as everything was spot on, the prices to me just come across very expensive for a hotel in Manchester, we got two cocktails at the terrace bar which came to £25. The cocktails weren’t better than any other ones I had before it was more just because they were from the Gotham hotel bar that they had the cheek to charge over double that everywhere else charges for the same product.

We were delighted with our choice for this visit to Manchester. We didnt want to stay in the centre but wanted to be within walking distance. The location is perfect. The hotel is spotless clean and bright and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely receptionist. Our room was lovely. It was bright and tastefully decorated with a free soft drink minibar provided along with robes and slippers. The hotel is located on First Street, a newly developed area with bars and restaurants and next door to Home, a theatre, restaurant & cinema complex. The are is still being developed but we are already looking forward to returning in the near future. Breakfast was good, the restaurant is bright and spacious and we didnt get that crowded breakfast room feeling. We had dinner in the hotel on the Saturday night and it was lovely. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We stay at the Pendulum regularly because usually it represents good value for money (some Saturday nights are more expensive but that is the case across Manchester hotels) Rooms are small (some more than others) but well designed so fine for short stays. Reception staff are very efficient. Breakfast service is also efficient and the food is varied enough to suit most people

Found this hotel through Agoda at an unbelievable price....found check in a bit underwhelming as it was very noisy and took quite a while. We had requested a twin as I was travelling with a friend and was allocated a double....queried this and was told that they were overbooked on twins and because I had booked via a third party that i wasnt guaranteed what i had requested...however...the lovely man upgraded us to a room with the most fantastic view over the city with the biggest bed ever! Happy days! Mini bar was extortionate...but arent they all?! Room service however was very reasonable and we used this when we got back from our gig and the food was beautiful. So with that little hitch out of the way, the rest of the stay was just perfect...room amazing, breakfast probably the best I have ever had whilst staying in a hotel and the staff were outstanding...definitely my first to go to hotel in Manchester!

Lovely clean hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Superb location for Manchester Pride......literally the Gay Village, us literally a 5 minute walk away. And a 2 minute walk to Piccadilly Square and all it's shops and restaurants. The hotel is right next door to a Whetherspoons, so we went there every morning for a very cheap but hearty breakfast. Will be using this hotel again as we often visit Manchester by train. The station is only a couple minutes walk from the hotel too.

The hotel is in central Manchester, so it’s only a quick walk to local shops, bars and restaurants. We were upgraded to a premium apartment which was great! The apartment was spacious & clean, and came with all amenities to cook after my business meetings. The staff were friendly and helpful for all our requests. We didn’t have time to use the pool or gym, but they looked great, and the gym had lots of equipment! We will definitely be back!

The hotel is overall very nice and seems to be one of the historical buildings in Manchester. Location is really excellent, next to picadilly station and all the shoping streets, china town and so on. Rooms are big enough, clean, serviced everyday, bathroom is big as well. Only negative thing is that the hotel hasn't been renewed for ages and even the excellent care, hotel feels old and facilites outdated (old tv, old furnitures). Overall still a good hotel

we stayed at doubletree hilton in manchester for two nights. the hotel was clean and everyone was friendly, but for the price i would have stayed somewhere else which was closer to the city center. the location of this hotel is good if you need to be near the piccadilly station, otherwise it was a bit difficult to get to the hotel from and to other spots in the city. also, the name of this hotel used to be mint hotel, and many taxi drivers didn't know the exact location of doubletree, many of them would take me to the other hilton. i had parked my car at doubletree while staying there, the charge was gbp 15 per night. i don't know what other hotels charge for parking, but this seemed a bit high considering i am staying there. the other lots nearby offered similar rates for a more accessible lot. the breakfast at the hotel was okay at best. the spread for the buffet was very weak, and then you would have to order from the menu for the main entree. i have stayed at about 4 different hotels in manchester (4 star & 5 star) and they have always had a better breakfast. i think this hotel is great for a business traveller who needs a night stay in manchester and has to catch the train, otherwise, if your looking to enjoy as a couple or on holiday there may be better choices in manchester.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Manchester and the central location of the apartment played a huge role during our stay. It only took us a 5-10 minutes stroll to the Arndale shopping centre. The 2 bedroom penthouse also came with additional 2 sofa beds which could be shared with 2 people per bed and by far the comfiest sofa bed I have ever slept on. Well sized bedrooms and clean bathrooms definitely influenced this review positively. The kitchen facilities were of high standard so cooking was a breeze. The Internet connection was particularly good and the children enjoyed watching telly on the big screen. The staff were very helpful and friendly so all in all we do not have any complaints regarding this apartment hotel and if we are ever in Manchester in the nearest future, we will definitely stay here again!

Stayed here from 23 Dec 2017 to 29 Dec 2017. Great location ( 2 minutes walk to Manchester Piccadilly Station) 10 minutes walk to Arndale/Selfridges and major shopping areas. Waitrose/SPAR/Tesco Extra all within 5 minutes. Apartments tastefully decorated. Appliances aplenty. Staff very helpful & friendly. Will be my default place to stay if visiting Manchester again.

The hotel is in a central location, recently built and the apartment was very clean and well furnished. However the sound insulation in the building is woefully inadequate leaving the apartment I was in sounding like part of the club in the printworks, I could literally hear every word of every track from midnight until 7am. The apartment also has a Juliette balcony in the bedroom and a balcony in the lounge though as with the doors closed you hear everyone leaving the Birdcage arguing over the taxis it’s hard to see how you could possibly open the doors. If your intention is to visit Manchester to go clubbing and sleep all day it would be a great place, if you want to sleep at night however look elsewhere. Great facilities and a lovely apartment but also very noisy between midnight and 7am

We stayed in this hotel overnight having arrived late from Tel Aviv. My partner had taken ill whilst away and had to use a wheelchair which was provided by the airport. The special assistance therefore was not requested by us from the hotel in advance. We had booked a standard double. On arrival we were whisked through the check in and given a free upgrade to a junior suite. We were allowed to take the wheelchair into the suit. The manager himself helped us with the luggage. The suite was impeccable, overlooking the runway but totally quiet. Everything was in a pristine condition, clearly recently upgraded, a very comfortable bed with high quality bed linen. The service was beyond all expectations - staff was very helpful and above all kind. Breakfast was excellent. Whilst away we stayed in 5 star hotels. None of them came anywhere near this 4 star Radisson blu at Manchester airport.

This is s nice hotel located in central Manchester. This hotel allows pets and our dog was very comfy. Many restaurants nearby. The street car station is very near. There is a street food market nearby. Lots of great shopping nearby. The area is very busy at night with a lot of people drinking. I found this very lively area fun. We noticed a wet spot on the carpet outside of the bathroom in the evening. The next morning the wet spot had grown tremendously. Obviously a water leak. When I reported this to management theý immediately changed our room while the maintenance guy came to look. I was impressed that they changed our room without a fuss. The new room was nicer too. I highly recommend this hotel. The only downside is parking. You must park your car at a city lot which is a 7 minute walk. The fee is £10 for 24 hours which is quite reasonable for the UK. We loved Manchester.

You get what you pay for. Fantastic location right in trhe city centre. I was staying to attend an exam the next day and it was quiet so no problem getting to sleep. Bed was comfortable and warm. The rooms are basic, no towels or toiletries or wardrobe,ust a sink and a shared toilet, which I had no problems getting access to at any time. I also paid for 5he shower upgrade. I didn't actually use it so cant comment on it. The price I paid was significantly lower than anywhere else even near Manchester. Basic yes, but value for money was there. Ideal for a bed for the night.

Stayed w/e end January for a show at the Opera House. Had booked well in advance so two double internal rooms were just £120.00. Upgraded on arrival for £10 each room for rooms with a view. V spacious and comfortable. Hotel has a restaurant and 24he bar, though we doesn't use either as we ate/drank out. It's about a 10-15 Min walk to the Opera House and about another 10 mins to centre of all the action in Manchester, so a great location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Had a car park at the back, says it's limited, but we arrived at about 1pm on Saturday and there were plenty of spaces. Costs (c) £12 overnight parking which is way cheaper than NCP. Hotel have several with NCP. If their car park is full and u park at NCP, I get a 40% discount, which we coated after discount at around £35. So still better to use the hotel parking. Overall a great w/e and would stay again. Book early, to get a great deal - we booked in June for our January stay.

We booked the Mercure 2 months in advance of our stay. We booked an executive double room as the value was incredible. Our visit to Manchester was initially for the Manchester United v Liverpool match however the Premier League moved the matchday! Luckily we had the Christmas markets to visit! The hotel was brilliant. Comfortable bed, great power in the shower and the coffee machines are a stroke of genius. Its right beside the tram lines to Old Trafford & the Trafford Centre, located right in Piccadilly Gardens & in the middle of the Christmas markets just 100m from the Manchester wheel which is erected for Christmas. When we return to Manchester we'll definitely be booking the Mercure....through Agoda :)

We have been staying at Clayton's (formerly Bewleys) every year since it opened at Manchester Airport before flying back to the States. We always felt relaxed and comfortable, and it had everything we could want. We'd start with a late afternoon cappuccino in the lounge, and after a little rest, had a beard ate in the dining room. We would have two favorite appetizers: caesar salad and pasta bolognese, (Always consistent- now not available). It was a hot day this year and we were surprised that the room had no air conditioning, and was stiflingly hot. In this day and age I've never come across a hotel that wasn't air conditioned. We asked at the desk if we could change to an air conditioned room, and learned that it was only in a limited number of "superior" rooms at an extra premium of 20 pounds. I am forewarned for the future. We did upgrade and I will say the room had new beds with very good mattresses and the ac was quiet. They even had blankets in the cupboard as an alternative to those heavy duvets.I never saw this difference advertised. The breakfasts are still wonderful, and the hotel provides free shuttles to your terminal, even though this year the vans were late. Feels like they are cutting corners. Still, for a one night stay before a flight, Clayton's has good facilities.

I booked this hotel in spite of its reviews and it turned out to be fine. The room was comfortable and clean and only lacked a fridge to keep our flight snacks cool. We didn't have breakfast as we'd opted to sleep longer and eat at the airport after check in. The staff helped me as I was travelling alone with a lot of luggage and a four year old. The short shuttle to the airport was painless too and children travel on the shuttle at a reduced fare. Thanks for giving us a hassle free comfortable night's stay Britannia! If you're heading to Manchester from overseas remember to carry a £1, $1 or 1Euro as you'll need one to use a trolley at the airport and it's non refundable: grrrr. Always a pain when you arrive with crisp notes from your currency exchange and have far too much luggage for one adult to handle!

What can I say!! I traveling to Manchester alone to watch the first United home match for EPL 2016/17 and a stay with Hotel Football is a must do! I enjoyed meeting like-minded travellers at the hotel who shares the same passion as I do and enjoyed playing football at Heaven, rooftop football pitch on top of the hotel! It is PERFECT for football lovers. Cafe Football is a nice place to hang out at even if you're alone to chat with the staff. A dream come true!

So if your staying in central manchester you are probably trying to decide between the two hatter hostels. The hilton is cleaner, has a nice garden area, but is very quiet. There is a tv room/social area and kitchen area where people gather but not many people use it. If I'm staying in manchester after a night out or for work etc I just use the hostel to sleep rather than meet people so this is my preferred choice. The none hilton one has a better social area and you do meet more ppl, but its not as nice as the hilton but a lot more social. If you are traveling and want to meet people or have come to party stay here.

I booked this hotel through Agoda and had confirmation by email. On arrival at the hotel they had no information about our booking and they were fully booked. They went out of their way to help us locate another hotel for our two night stay in Manchester, not easy a there was a home Manchester City match. They tried to contact Agoda at the time without success. They told us that Agoda would refund the payment already made plus the additional cost of our new booking. On trying to contact Agoda this morning I am unable to speak to anyone by phone and email access is not being permitted.

ibis Styles Manchester Portland is an amazing property to stay in Manchester. LOCATION: The property is located at a 10 min walking distance from the Manchester Piccadilly train station and is conveniently located on the main road. The property is surrounded by cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores, which altogether makes it a prime location, especially for a solo traveler like. All places of interests are at a convenient walking distance of 10-20 mins from the hotel. CHECK-IN & STAY: CHECK-IN was seamlessly good. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They explain about all the hotel amenities at the time of check-in and were kind of take care of my baggage post check out as I had time to kill before my train left and I could explore the city without having to carry my baggage. ROOMS: The rooms are colorful and bright. They have a stylish yet warm charm to them. I was given a room at the top floor and was not disappointed. OVERALL: Go for it! :)

Very impressed with the apartment and the all staff we encountered were just so lovely, friendly and helpful yet efficient. Its was our first stay at CityStop but won't be our last - we booked this as we were struggling to find a reasonably priced room anywhere else (Travelodge would have been twice the price for the 4 of us) as unbeknownst to us it was the Manchester Marathon. It is in a great location for the Northern Quarter, any noise from outside the pubs opposite is drowned out when the living space windows are closed plus the bedrooms were on the inner side so no noise at all there. It was fun to people watch for a while and not a bad thing at all but perhaps might put others off. We had no trouble though. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed but a tea towel (none of knew how to use the dishwasher!) Highly recommended and big shout out again to the fab staff!

Both myself and my husband had a great stay here in Manchester Hotel. The staff are nice and polite. The rooms were speck and clean and toiletries were always topped up everytime we requested for a make-up of the room. I loved the fact how there was an iron board and iron for me to iron my clothes. And interestingly there was a trouser press also. And the room was very spacious. As our stay was near the airport, it was also close to train, bus and tram stations.
