Such a beautiful place in Nothern Laos! And the river view is by far the best accommodation option in Nong Khiaw! Simply amazing bungalows with the perfect river view. We loved this place! We were supposed to stay for a couple of nights but extended it to 5 or 6. The location is absolutely amazing... (request to stay in the bungalows on the water). We would sit on our little porch and just watch Nong Khiaw days go by. We preferred to just hang here than anywhere else. The food at the restaurant is good with an incredible sunset view....
At first, we were a little sad that this hotel was on the opposite side of town from all the action. But Nong Khiaw is small and the free bicycles that are available for use make getting around town very quick and easy. We stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Nong Khiaw, the location is right next to the bridge, and walking distance to all local points of interest. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and helped us with our laundry, as well as booking our return bus to Luang Prabang. The room was spacious, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've stayed in during our t...
The owner of the lodge, Mr Mang is also the owner of the Nong Khiaw Adventure Tours agency and boasts of being the only local tour operator. I can attest to this - Mr Mang is great, he developed a personal tour to suit my request, which even picked me up and dropped me off from the hotel. Staff were polite, friendly and not pushy. Highly recommend.
It's a very basic room, but you get hot water and decent wi-fi. It's not the cleanest place but still not filthy. Staff is nice and helpful. Location is good, close to many restaurants, however you do not have a view of the river. Best thing is the hammocks on the second floor. Ended up extending my stay by 3 days, will probably stay again if I get back to Nong Khiaw.
Beautiful mountain and river views, basically no english in the whole village, but you will get by OK. Room is beautiful, but the walls are paper thin, get to know your neighbour well. :) Would be the best hotel in Nong Khiaw
Booked and paid through Agoda for 2 nights before arriving there. We said "Hi" and the woman was first ignoring us - not even a look. Then she just said "Agoda, no", refused to give us our room for no reason. Still she took the money through Agoda and we had to find another guesthouse and finally payed twice. She might be renting her rooms twice! So don't book here!
We booked 2 nights through Agoda. When we arrived we received no smile or hello, just an abrupt "did you book through Agoda? let me see your email". She looked at it and then said that even though we'd booked for 2 nights we would have to change rooms tomorrow. No reason given. No apology. It was made clear that we would have to wait the next day until the people who o...
