"This was our first all-inclusive resort visit. We chose this resort mainly because of positive reviews. Yes, there were some negative reviews, however we learn to not take those too seriously. We stayed 2 nights in a silver suite on floor 2. It was quiet, after the DJ quit after midnight. Only minor issue was that since the water is hard, the minerals tend to clog the shower fixtures. Everyone else I talked to said they had great pressure. Simple fix. Room was large. We chose to upgrade to the 3rd floor of the Golden suites because we wanted to look at the pool. We were in building 6. Great location and a 5 minute walk to dinner or breakfast. You can call for a ride in a large cart within 5 minutes. That room was quite large and had a bidet, the Silver room didn't. All the restaurants were fantastic and each ala carte meal was prepared with attention to detail. For some reason the Italian restaurant was very warm inside. Perhaps the AC was broken. Well worth the visit"

"Gorgeous views of the ocean from the room! The staff and butlers were the best part of this resort! They really add a level of personalized service that make you feel like royalty while you are there and take the time to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Our assigned butlers were Ingrid and Erika and they were outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure our Anniversary was very special. Two other butlers, Luiz and Jesus, stood out to us as really going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Jesus even brought my husband his favorite chips that were not available at the resort! He stopped and got them on his way to work. The Activity staff are awesome -Jose, Jimmy and Eddi! They made our stay fun and entertaining. Make reservations for what you really want to do. Our favorite find was La Isla for breakfast (pool side). I recommend their French toast with eggs made to order and bacon. Michael Jackson, Signus Band and Fireshow were our favorite shows. "

"This was our second stay at Hotel Marina El Cid and we loved it as much as the first time. This time we were a much larger group (31 people) and the staff were always helpful and friendly when accommodating us. I enjoyed everything about this resort, especially the gym and it’s trainers. Having the opportunity to do yoga almost everyday was fantastic for me. Dalia is an amazing (and patient) instructor. Bottom line a great place to visit. "

"Once we got by the registration desk everything was good, one of the staff greeted us at the door and proceeded to not listen to what we had to say. I told him my name and that I had booked a Platinum room, he proceeded to check his list and said no we didn't and that the reservation was under Joshua Schlebach (my son) who was also staying at the resort. I told him that wasn't me but he refused to listen took us to the regular check in desk. Just before we received our wrist bands I asked him if we were in a Platinum room and he said no that our reservation had to list Platinum Junior Suite which it did, then we got to go to the Platinum lounge and start all over again. This was a much easier repeat of what should have originally happened, we were than told that a butler would take us to our room. we went outside and waited for 30 minutes and no one showed up, so I asked one of the attendants out front where our room was and we would walk. Never saw a butler"
