This is the best hotel in Vientiane for this price. Top reasons I picked this hotel was the pool, the fact it is a new hotel, price and location. Also their shuttle service is much cheaper than the local taxis, next time I will call ahead for airport pick up. They also offer free bikes to ride around the city which is another bonus considering taxis are 1000% more expensive than Vietnam (NO JOKE). I really enjoyed my stay here, pool and the gym was what I liked the most. Thank you!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for one night and I am amazed by the service. The breakfast ends at 10:30 but because I had to do stuff for my visa I arrived late and the hotel staff still offered to serve me breakfast. The gym and pool is nice and the rooms are very modern and clean. I highly recommend this hotel and the next time I stay in Vientiane I will be coming back. 5 stars.

We stayed 3 nights from 10 Aug 13. We arrived at 10pm local time after some 20 hours travel – the staff were efficient and had us in our room in no time at all. The hotel is a short drive from the city centre, however the hotel offer a free shuttle. Although the hotel is one of the more expensive hotels in Vientiane it is well worth the price. We had a ground level pool view room (room D02) at the rear of the property. The room was more than adequate and had its own patio. What was unusual, and took a bit of getting used to, was the full glass window in the bathroom looking out to its own private garden. The staff are very friendly, helpful, well trained and have good English. The breakfast provides a great variety and the evening meals were excellent. The bar offers a “happy hour” which goes for two hours which is most welcome after a long day of touring. What a way to start our holiday would recommend the hotel. Rating 10 out of 10.

We had no problem whatsoever staying three nights in Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel. Complementary breakfast was very good with many choices to choose from. Huge rooms with luxurious bathrooms, I loved the garden and the huge pool area!The staff was very helpful, when I asked the front desk to book two more rooms for my relatives after we stayed there for a night, she insisted that I book online to get the same rate as my first booking, because it would've costed me three times more to book at the front desk. The price for king bed with river view was over $300, at the front desk, but less than $100, online on the same day. How insightful is that?! Book one hour ahead for hotel's free shuttle to city center. Many dignitaries stay here as well. I would recommend this hotel resort, if you are looking for comfortable, clean, and pleasant place to stay in Vientiane.

I was totally delighted with this hotel, the Salana Boutique Hotel in Vientiane, Laos. The staff at the Salana are very polite, professional, and frankly quite charming. They are helpful, informative and go the extra mile to answer your questions and ensure you enjoy your stay and see the city while you are there. I was very pleased with the driver that the hotel arranged for me, as I took a half-day city tour, plus went out to the Buddha Park in the afternoon. The hotel staff can speak English in most cases, and certainly the front desk staff with whom you transact business are English-fluent. Booking through Agoda and check-in / check-out went very smoothly. My guest room, while not large, was of adequate size. The room was well-appointed and had everything I needed. The bathroom was clean, modern, and the fixtures were in good shape. There was plenty of hot water for showers. The air conditioning worked well. The bed was comfortable and clean. I used the laundry service twice and was totally satisfied. I also had the Lao massage at the hotel's spa, and was very pleased with that service. My favorite aspect of this hotel is the breakfast buffet. I loved it. The selections were very good, the food was of high quality, and I liked the fact that you could also order a la carte items off the menu along with your buffet breakfast, and those were included with the breakfast. The fresh fruits, juices, breads, cereals, crepes and other hot items were all good. The large corner window view of the street activity outside the hotel is a nice way to begin your day in Vientiane. I also ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner just one evening, and it was a good meal. The Salana is a very attractive hotel. The housekeeping staff do a great job, and the hotel is nicely decorated and maintained. I highly recommend the Salana Boutique Hotel for your stay in Vientiane, the capital city of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

I stayed at the Don Chan Palace Hotel & Convention for one day during my layover in Vientiane and I wish it was longer. The staff was nice and greeted me well as I entered the hotel and took me and my luggage to my room with no problem, even though the hotel was huge. I enjoyed a spacious and luxurious (for Laos standards) hotel at a nice price with air conditioning and wifi coming to me in my room with no problem. The hotel is situated at a nice location in Vietiane, walking distance from the main boulevard, but it has a huge frontal property that you have to traverse before you get to the front door of the hotel building. The lobby and rooms were nicely designed and aesthetic. I had no problems with black outs during my stay. I found the free breakfast really nice and contained a good amount of variety for a buffet. It kept with the 5-star quality of the hotel. I will be sure to stay at the Don Chan Palace Hotel & Convention again on my next stay in Vientiane.

V Hotel was very fine. I paid $7.00 for a taxi from the airport. $21.00 dollars per night. Clean room, good air con, good elevator, hot water in the shower. You also get a light breakfast from 8;00 to 9:30. I saw no flaws with V Hotel, but Vientiane? Never Again. It's now huge and sprawling. No maps available for the crooked main sts. So I took a jarring 6 1/2 van ride to Vong Vieng, Laos' Party City. It was so friggin' boring (The place shuts down at ten p.m. I couldn't believe it) I went right back to Vientiane, then back to Thailand. The airport in Vientiane also SUCKS. There's 9 Immig. Officers doing absolutely nothing, while all VISA applicants are put into ONE LINE that barely moves. I stood in line for at least 1 1/2 hrs. GET YOUR VISA BEFOREHAND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. This is a great boutique hotel situated only 5 mins walk to the River and night markets. Location is perfect and the hotel was the best place I have stayed in Laos so far. A true gem and one I will stay at from now on when visiting the Vientiane. Value for money was excellent and the rooms were spotless and a high standard with good internet and all the modern comforts you would expect. The breakfast was also great and served in their coffee shop downstairs which was another great place.

This was my fifth trip to Vientiane and second time Ive stayed at Lao Golden. It would have been my third time, but last trip it was fully booked. This hotel is a great location if you are is Vientiane for the Thai consulate. It's nice to have a hotel nearby for a few reasons. 1. Taxi's / Tuk tuks in Vientiane are relatively expensive compared to Thailand and you have to go through an annoying routine of haggling them down on price every time you want one. So avoiding using taxi's unnecessarily for trips to the consulate will save you a few coins and all the bother. 2. It's also useful to be close by if there's a long queue at the consulate, I had quite a long wait, so walked back to the hotel for an hour and a half and relaxed there with air con, showers, breakfast and TV instead of sitting miserably at the consulate in the heat and monotony. There's also small shops nearby, a few restaurants, including a pizza company all of which serves me fine for the two days I'm there. The rooms are really nice, clean, white and spacious and a decent TV. Generous breakfast is also nice - buffet with plenty of choice. Quite honestly I've seen all of Vientiane on previous trips, I'm not bothered about seeing it again, I don't relish the thought of going there, but this hotel makes this mandatory trip just a little easier / happier. I will definately be booking again.

In terms of professionalism and quality of stay, you can't beat the Crowne. I've stayed here twice and have loved it both times. The staff are professionals (which is not something you should take for granted in a place like Laos, or Southeast Asia in general) and the building is spanking new, as are the big and comfy rooms and facilities. The restaurant/breakfast is vast, including the selections, and the ambiance is definitely upscale. This is probably the most luxuries hotel in Laos I've been in. You do get your money's worth. Pro Tip: don't be a chump and use the hotel (or any hotel's, for that matter) airport shuttle option. Taxis are now readily available in Vientiane and Laos (not the case just a few years ago) so just use the taxi stands. Yes, they will be slightly more expensive than what you'd pay the street tuktuks, but way cheaper (nearly half) of what any hotel shuttle will cost you.

My partner and I stayed at the Ansara Hotel 3 times during our travels around Laos. After reading the reviews online, we had to try it! We have travelled around the world a fair bit and found the Ansara Hotel to be one of our very favourite places. Hotel - it has a lovely relaxing charm to it. The rooms were beautifully decorated and were always spotless and smelled clean and nice. Staff - really helpful and professional, especially the hotel manager - our luggage got left behind in Bangkok when we first arrived in Vientiane & wasn't going to arrive in Vientiane until later that day and the manager of the hotel personally came back to the airport with us that afternoon to ensure we had no issues with the language barrier or anything like that, which as far as I am concerned is above and beyond the call of duty and was appreciated by myself and my partner greatly. Restaurant - the prices are like any place that serve gourmet international food, but I am happy to pay this when the meals are of such high quality and they have a nice drinks menu. The breakfast is nice also. Location - great spot, really close to the night markets, shops and restaurants, You can walk to some sights, but it's easy getting a tuk tuk to any that are further. Transfer - the hotel were reliable in arranging for us to be collected and dropped off each time we checked in and out. All in all, I can not think of one bad thing to report during our 3 stays at the Ansara Hotel and will definitely return when we go back to Vientiane.

We have been to a lot of hotels in Asia and I have to say this was literally Golden sun hotel - the best one we have stayed at. Everything from the service to the food and the room were great. Buffet breakfast was so tasty. Manager runs the hotel very well. And also wonderful fitness center and swimming pool, Spa. They really looked after us being on our trip. Above and beyond our expectations. Certainly one of the best hotels in Vientiane.

I have stayed at and looked at several other hotels in Vientiane and nothing was as nice as Lao Orchid. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend especially with no pool facilities. It is close to everything down town. The breakfast buffet with omelet bar was a nice treat. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything on premise was clean and nice. Staying here helped make our special weekend more special.

Actually this is a good service apartments with basic facilities such as kitchen, many types of rooms, bar cafe, and gym (No swimming pool). You need to ask the cooking tools from the hotel if you want to use it, but they will ask you how long you will stay and i don't what is the purpose of that question. I also having trouble communicate with their staff for a while until their supervisor come, but they really try to help you which is I really appreciate it. But the good thing, the location is very good that just nearby the Mekong River which is the tourist center (10 minutes walking) also if you need to buy grocery, rest bike/motorcycle, laundry service, restaurants, massage, good bar, gas station, u can find few shops around the place, walking distance. One of the best thing, local people told they served the best burger in Vientiane in their restaurant located on the rooftop. Overall it was a good experience to stay in this place. Hope this can help another traveler later.

The hotel seems have a bit of a run down appearance but is really rather good value and possesses great character . Rooms are large with nice wooden floors and comfortable beds. It is not a backpacker place, for instance, it was full of Lao government official staying there on my first day. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. I think the one area that can be improved is the buffet breakfast which should be more of a showcase for the superb Laos coffee , French style baguettes and rice dishes. These were there but not as delicious as the can be . I had to walk up the road to a local shop to have a freshly warmed baguette with cheese, or pate or omelette for just over 2 US $ .

This is the best hotel in Vientiane, and I would definitely return. It is a historically significant building, and the rooms are quite spacious and feel like you are stepping back in time, even though the modern amenities are there and acceptable. It is not a cheap hotel relative to other options in town, but it is extremely centrally located and has a very nice feel. The dining options are good, with a nice breakfast. Perfect for either a business hotel or weekend couples getaway. You don't feel like you are in a poor country when staying here!!

Perfect location just steps from the night market but still secluded enough to be quiet. Shockingly excellent wifi! Room was very large and balcony was lovely. There were quite a few mosquitos in the room when we turned the A/C on but they were all male so they weren't biting. Otherwise meticulously clean and modern. The breakfast was great, with tea, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, and snacks for grab and go as well as two options (american breakfast or some type of local fare). We went with American both mornings and it was great. Just down the street from Tyson Kitchen (honestly the best restaurant in Vientiane!).

Simply a really good value hotel in Vientiane in a location which is within walking distances of the main downtown sites. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Laos. Staff always friendly. Even asked us if they could make us a coffee in the breakfast room every morning. Location was reasonably quiet. Airport bus stop right outside door which was very convenient when departing at the end of our stay.

We stayed for four nights in this very nice hotel. The rooms are not big but they're big enough. There's a very small fridge in the room. Air conditioning kept the room at a nice temperature even when the outside temperature was near 40 degrees Celsius. The staff was very polite and friendly. The breakfast cost 10 USD per person. It was good but maybe a little overpriced. Most sights in Vientiane are at walking distance from the hotel but it was too hot to walk all the time so we got a tuktuk to take us to the Cope centre and other places a bit further away. But as already mentioned, we liked best the cleanliness of the hotel. There are very nice hotels near the hotel. Everything we ate in Vientiane was truly delicious. Next to the Fountain, a few steps from the hotel, is the walk in office for Green Discovery (if I remember it right) tours. We booked one and enjoyed the boat and trekking tour to the nearby national park. The hotel arranged us a taxi to the Friendship bridge to go back to Udon Thani airport. It cost 500 baht. We asked the taxi driver if he could take us all the way to the airport in Udon Thani. Yes, for 3000 baht. Instead, we switched taxis at the Lao side of the border and paid 800 baht from the border to the airport. Plus the 20 baht exit and 20 baht entry charges per person. A delightful stay in Vientiane!

This hotel is the best choice in Vientiane if you are looking for a decent hotel that offers some luxury at a budget rate. We booked two superior rooms for one night only. The rooms were big enough and the beds are soft, the linens immaculately clean. The interior of the rooms is distinctively Lao. The broken glass art work at the lobby enhances the beauty of the hotel. the manager, the Pinay staff, and all others were all warm and friendly and responded to all our needs with a personal touch. even entertained us with his songs even in the presence of the Pinoy singer. When we needed to stay a couple of hours for our night bus to Luang Prabang, we got a good deal to keep one of the rooms at half the price. The buffet breakfast is excellent value for money, not to mention the food tastes delicious. We highly recommend this hotel to all other travelers to Vientiane. Honestly, the D' Rose 1 exceed my expectations!

First off, the prices in Vientiane for decent lodging is ridiculous. But, booking through Agoda for this hotel worked out great and discounts the rooms by several USD off the walk-in rate. We booked the Superior room, a gorgeous 5th floor corner suite with a great view. It was well furnished and stocked with proper amenities. Yes, there's no elevator but you probably could use the exercise. Excellent location between 3-4 temples and the river/night market. Plenty of good restaurants around, both affordable and premium. The TV had very poor reception though, which was weird. The WiFi was also pretty inconsistent; whenever I would ask the staff, it would be working for them but for us, it worked sometimes and not other times. Which is a pity, because the cafe/restaurant on the first floor is quaint and has a great amosphere (and A/C!). The breakfast was lacklustre and one day, I had to remind them two separate times to bring the included fruit plate and my beverage. One of the front desk staff was very kind and helpful with map directions when we asked. However, be careful of the manager, who tried to place us in a Deluxe room instead and tried to claim it was Superior when we called him out. Luckily we had dropped in the day before and had asked to see a deluxe, otherwise we wouldn't have known. Also, apparently you have to turn your key in and specifically ask them to clean your room, otherwise they won't clean it, which seemed simply lazy for a hotel that seems so premium otherwise. Finally, if you're looking to book a bus out of Vientiane, it's much cheaper to book at the shop directly across the street.
