Went to London for a quick getaway and to meet up with friends. Choose to stay at Capthorne Tara because of location and price. The staff were quick and friendly while checking in. The room was clean and a decent size considering some hotel rooms in London. The hotel is close to the subway which made it convenient for getting around town. Located in Kensington it is a great area which has stores, shops and restaurants all within walking distance from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and when I go back to London I will stay here again

Stayed here for 6 nights. The location of this hotel is superb, 5mins walking distance to Kensington high street station and it connects to major attraction easily from here. Also worth mentioning there are several great stores for food and supplies like M&S food, Amazon fresh which located next to the station. The hotel room is very clean , bed is firm and thanks to the cleaner our rooms get tidy up nicely every day. There is a heater facility in the room and it is working nicely. The only downside of the room is poor sound insulation where u get to hear ur next room speaking occasionally , the TV has no signal and the furniture seems a little worn out but these are not a dealbreaker to me considering the Priceline of this hotel.

Have stayed before and find the hotel very well situated and good value for money. Shelving looked us very well on check-in and should be commended. Problem came when I checked out and left a medication injection pen (worth over €210) in a cold box in the fridge (the medicine has to be cooled) and found when calling a couple of hours later that rather than hand it in to lost property, the cleaning staff just through it away. After refusing a number of times to accept that nothing had been found I managed the next day to speak with a manager called Quam

I was given a room for the disabled, which included a DIY-looking very old shower cubicle in the bathroom. Shower head clearly needs to be replaced, shower curtains are a foot too long. Basin have the old hot and cold taps instead of a mixer. AC either didn't work or was not a proper AC but some kind of vent. With windows sealed shut, room gets very hot before midday, and the weather was chilly outside. Room is very bright in summer by 6am. Window treatments are very odd, with a combination of sheer curtains (but short), blinds and block-out curtains that doesn't draw all the way. Ample shelves for storage, but they are shelves not wardrobes. And they oddly-sized for the room. Front desk staff are friendly but there's always a long queue of more than 5 people waiting. Cleaning lady is lovely and efficient. Location is the best aspect of this hotel. 2-3 min walk to SK tube station and lots of buses to catch. We mainly caught #9. We didn't eat at hotel, M&S is next to station, Whole Foods is less than 10min walk. Lots of cafes and eateries nearby to try.

Hotel is at an amazing location and very well maintained. However, I felt housekeeping was a problem. This was my second visit to this hotel. In my last visit I stayed only for a day but this time it was for 6 nights. Housekeeping doesn't make bed properly infact without cleaning it first. I don't think they changed the beddings even once inspite of them getting dirty. Room did not look neat and tidy at all and after a very long day, I had to come back & clean it myself. Except housekeeping, I had no other issue. I would love to stay here again.
