Laos hotels & accommodations
I have lived in Laos for 4 years and been to Luang Prabang more times than I can remember between business trips and friends and family coming to visit. My Dream was far and away the best experience I have had, not only in Luang Prabang but in all of Laos. The staff simply exude kindness, competency, and true Lao hospitality to the highest standard. The rooms and facil...
Luang Prabang is definitely the place to go for your special eco-tourism. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day 4-night stay at the Villa Maly Boutique Hotel, a surprisingly pleasant, romantic, and peaceful hideaway gem in the heart of Luang Prabang. We visited the famous Kuang Si Waterfalls, about an hours drive from our hotel, and were delighted to experience nature's unsp...
S Park is a great new hotel which is priced reasonably relative to the rest of Laos. The room was spacious and well designed with a separate toilet to bathroom although it literally had the worst pillows I've ever slept on in my life. They were like pillow cases filled with random, lumpy handfuls of cotton wool. The pool is great but doesn't have enough sun beds in the...
What a wonderful resort! We absolutely loved our stay at the Pullman. The service was exceptional - everyone was so thoughtful about even the smallest details. We were upgraded to a large and lovely room. The rooms are new, clean and comfortable - we loved the large shower and bathtub. The hotel has 3 different pools all with beautiful views. We appreciated the q...
This is best hotel compare with its price. Nice room condition and good facilities. you can use gym and swimming pool for free. Staffs of hotel speak English well and they are kind enough. but It's quite far from main street and you cannot find tuktuk easily. If you think about renting motorbike or car when you come to Lao, I recommend this hotel. and do not use back a...
We had planned for a 5 nights stay, but we only managed 4 nights due to a broken bus transport from LP that caused us have our trip delayed. (Our Journey took 14hrs in total instead of 4hrs) Special Thanks to Mr. Kosol (believed he is the front desk manager) as his replies were quick and assuring. While we were trapped in the high mountains in the dark, i msged the ho...
It is quite good, but I would not rate this establishment 5 stars. I understand that to some extent the star system is based on location, and what type of competition is around, as opposed to an established guideline. Meaning a 4 star hotel in Thailand is often times better equipped than a 5 star hotel in laos, but there are several reasons why I don't believe it shou...
The design of each room in this luxury resort are inspired by one of the eight ethnic minority groups found in Laos (Akha, Hmong, Katu, Lanten, Lao Lum, Tai Daeng, Tai Lue and Yao.) . Each room also have a card describing the profile of the ethnic group it is designed after. I had a Katu room. The rooms are very stylishly designed and is very comfortable and clean. Th...
This is a charming place set in a lush green hillside, close to LP town center. Both exterior and interior design is beautiful, rooms are very clean with nice amenities. The pool area is beautiful and so relaxing. There is a small but well-equipped gym at the top floor with nice views to take in while working out. The staff is very friendly. Even through the shutt...
We booked this hotel as our "splurge" hotel in Laos and was happy with it. Before arriving, we read somewhere it is a green oasis in a dusty city. The hotel is just that! It is located out of the city centre but is an easy walk or tuk tuk drive away. The hotel has a free shuttle which goes every hour which is very useful but we had rented a motorcycle so used t...
The location of this hotel is lovely, set on a hill just outside the town with amazing views of the town and surrounding mountains. The hotel is quite new so our room was very comfortable and in good condition. The staff were all fantastic, particularly the general manger, and they went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Despite the level of English varyin...
If you are unable to do water activities in Vang Vieng (like us - half of us were sick inc my 5 yo son), then you can still do other stuff like pony riding, hot air balloon ride and seeing the sights. We spent 2 days in VV and really enjoyed this leg of our Laos trip. The hotel is in an excellent location with killer views and walking distance to the local food scene. ...
We stayed at this brand new luxury hotel just 2 weeks after it's soft opening, therefore there were a couple things that they are still working on and many of the staff are still training. With that said, we were very impressed by the hotel and every single one of the hotel staff we met were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything w...
I stayed at Vang Vieng Central Park Hotel few days ago. I liked it so much because it was a very perfect hotel in Laos. A new hotel with nice staff who made my stay better than i expected. They helped me to find where to go and what to do in Vang vieng. And the hotel staff arranged my trip with a perfect services. Hotel location is in the centre of the city where...
We have visited Luang Prabang once before and love the peace and tranquillity. This year we decided to spend 2 months in SE Asia with 2 weeks in LP. I booked this hotel online. It was a bit over our- low - budget but we decided to treat ourselves. We could not have been happier. The staff were excellent. There was always someone available if we had a need or problem an...
just finished a 6 night stay at sabaidee@lao hotel. i had a great time there. i originally booked at another hotel, but was much happier with the location of this one. it is just off one of the main roads, so it stays pretty quite. i am always a late riser and leave the room at 1 or 2 pm. this was never a problem for house keeping, and i never had to ask for them to cl...
Best staff in Laos! They were so thoughtful to present us with a cake to help us celebrate our 10 year anniversary. 8 members of staff surprised us with knock at our door, a delicious cake and wished us a happy marriage. My husband had tears in his eyes. The room was fantastical. If you are classy and wealthy enough for this hotel, you'd be foolish to stay anywhere els...
This hotel is a five start quality with 4 start hospitality - food is OK for Laos and is really a nice establishment. If you are an upper-class traveler i Vientien, this is your hotel to stay! I stayed in a suite and it was a six star quality. It was one of the best value I experienced in a while.
an old fashioned hotel of french heritage on the banks of the mekong but clean and well maintained. breakfast is typical of thai laos hotels but adequate for the price because this hotel dis great value for money. the hotel is in a quiet area and is about 2 kilometers from the city center a nice walk along the mekong banks as the footpaths are good for most of the way ...
It was our first hotel in Laos and we were really pleased with our choice. Location is good, rooms very nice with great hot showers. 5 mins walk from centre and all the attractions. The staff were very friendly with reasonably good english. Not cheap hotel, considering but worth every cent. We loved our stay there. Would definitely recommend.
River View Bungalows is located on the little island in the middle of Song river (behind Saysong Guesthouse but face directly with Song river & mountains). My sisters and I stayed in the Mountain River View room (Triple single bed), we can see the Song river and beautiful mountains from the windows. The room is very clean, not too small for three persons and well equ...
Satri House is a beautiful hotel built in contemporary colonial style to complement the original house still in its grounds (ask for a tour, it's amazing). The ultra-sophisticated and charming owner, , has overseen the exquisite design which is both visually stunning and extremely comfortable, utilising the best of Lao fabrics, furniture and handicrafts. Surprises gree...
After a less than comfortable overnight train from Bangkok and rain-soaked 40minute tuk-tuk ride from the Thanaleng station, the Salana Boutique Hotel was a welcome surprise. Only a few months old, the hotel had all the latest furnishings. The design was excellent and construction high quality. There was even a window in our shower that looked into a small meditation g...
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights during our visit to Vang Vieng from 25-27 July. Seriously, the photos of the hotel from the internet are exactly the same as what you going to get when you see it with your own eyes. It's breathtaking and looks like the view that you can only obtain from a postcard. Value wise, the hotel consider well worth it with this kind of ...
This has got to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at in South East Asia (or anywhere!) - even when compared to more expensive hotels. It is simple and unpretentious but has a style, elegance, grace and charm that recalls famous hotels from bygone eras. The staff are very polite, but also friendly. Most, except for housekeeping, speak English well but are also happy...
V Hotel was very fine. I paid $7.00 for a taxi from the airport. $21.00 dollars per night. Clean room, good air con, good elevator, hot water in the shower. You also get a light breakfast from 8;00 to 9:30. I saw no flaws with V Hotel, but Vientiane? Never Again. It's now huge and sprawling. No maps available for the crooked main sts. So I took a jarring 6 1/2...
Nice modern hotel. My only pet peeve is the staff speaking to my boyfriend as “sir” and not speaking to me directly. But I’ve had this experience at another hotel in Laos. Although when you are trying to deliver a nice experience to a couple, if you are going to speak to “sir”, you should also be able to speak to “ma’am”.
Cheap places to stay in Laos
This is technical review to know what you should expect from sysomphone: Pros: 1. Behind other luxury hotel managed by same team; and they openly invited us to enjoy brilliant river view and other facilities in luxury hotel (like juice, POS, first aid) They provided us more than expected. free of charge tea, instant coffee, great pancake on break fast with milkshakes....
THIS IS THE BEST HOSTEL EVER. I've stayed at a lot of hostels and this has been by far one of the top. The staff is not only fun but super friendly and nice. It was my last day in Asia and one of the best. If you want to party, stay here, end of story. Thanks for the best time guys! Can't wait to come back!!!!
Ok, the rooms and bathrooms could have a make-over, but so do most places in Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. The shower is hot, the beds comfortable, the kitchen and food is good and the supportive staff just awesome. Right in the center, good people around, okay WiFi. All good. They really take care of your trip and wishes. Fast laundry service. - And in general the most ...
Khounmee Guesthouse is in the middle of a small village in one of the most awesome setting in Asia. The bamboo rooms are lovely and each opens onto a view of rice and tobacco fields hemmed in by spectacular jagged limestone ranges. The rooms are cleaned every day and each as a small verandah and hammock to simply relax and be. Staff are professional and friendly and s...
Without a doubt the best value for money in Laos. Location is perfect - right in downtown. All rooms have A/C and are comfortable. Plenty of toilets and showers. Free breakfast with 6 choices plus small serving of fruit. Free drinking water - only place in Laos I've seen that gives you free drinking water. Restaurant/chillout area on groundfloor sells cold large bottle...
Best value for money in town. Free breakfast, not just bread, but eggs served any way, fruit, fried rice, coffee and tea! Free whiskey/lao lao from 7-10pm. Room was good, shower worked, ac worked, beautiful view.
i caught Dengue while visiting Luang Prabang but thankfully i recovered because I slept very well ate great breakfast & everything i needed was a walk away. Wish i could have done more in Laos but i was very happy in this hostel. friendly staff well maintained & great location.
staff real friendly, help with places to go and local booking, short walk to night market. not overly crowded hostel. most all things with in walking distance or all tours from town pick you up at hostel or hotels always. nice quiet getaway from the party hostels
The rooms are really clean, bed is comfortable. Food in the restaurant is good too. Not easy to eat in Khoun Kham so we're really happy about the restaurant and the menue. Kitchen is open the whole day. Renting motorbike is possible too. To Konglor Cave you need approximately 1 hr, 45 km. Booking the bus to Thakhek was possible too. The owner is well- speaking engl...
This is a new place in Town, only open for a couple of months but I highly recommend it. When we checked in we asked for a different room as our room had no window (room was fine though) Tommy happily changed our room to a much nicer one with balcony for no extra cost. The food here is EXCELLENT, the best we have had in Laos. The friendly family who ru the place are fr...
This hostel probably has the best room I've stayed in in Laos. The bed's are comfortable, there's ample air conditioning, there are lockers and convenient places to put your stuff. The bathrooms are serviceable and clean, just not well lit and some shower nozzle holders are broken. The breakfast is okay, but the view of the mountains from the dining room is fantastic. ...
Me and girlfriend were recommended this hostel by a fellow traveller and we could'nt have been more happier! The whole place is beautifully decorated with bamboo and has a real homey feel to it. I would go as far as saying its one of the best hostels ive ever stayed in. The staff went above and beyond to help us. We booked a 3 day slowboat/minivan trip to Chiang Mai fr...
at first i was skeptical because of lack of reviews. but Y not turned out to be the nicest spot i have stayed in Laos so far price/quality wise. comfortable clean bed/rooms. clean bathrooms and burning hot shower which is extremely rare in SE asia. the staff were super friendly and authentic. i tried to stay an extra night before i left but they were booked. 10/10 !
I booked for 2 nights and extended for 1 more night. My friend and I shared a room with 6 other travellers. Location of the hostel is about 10 minutes walk from the night market and many other popular places like Mount Phousi, alms giving location, Mekong river, Khan river and Utopia (a bar restuarant). Most importantly, it is quiet at night. Wifi is working fine. The ...
It's best if you book in for multiple nights straight away, as then they'll try and give you a bottom bunk in a quiet spot. Still had a bit of music and really loud snorers, but that's usually an issue in large hostels. Always bring earplugs. Staff were pretty helpful, though it was clear they made their money through commissions and services. The main lady is from Vie...
The staff here are what really make the place ! They are so so friendly and welcoming! I ended up staying five nights here !! They all new my name and greeted me like a friend everyday. The beds are by far one of the more comfier beds in Vang Vieng ! I tried out a few and was glad as to where I was staying. The place is clean and it is an excellent place to socialise a...
Great hostel very chilled... Comes with great breakfast and a pool which tbh is a god send in the hot weather... Everyone is super friendly and the place is relatively clean. Please please please lock any valuables away in a locker and keep locked at all times as someone stolen 15000 baht and 300 in British pounds from me and am very confident my locker was unlocked go...
We had such a great time staying at Mojo Guesthouse. At first, when we arrived, the host already knew about our arrival and were waiting for us. Mojo located in a very central place, very near night market, phousi mountain, Luangphrabang museum and the river, very convinient for you to walk or go by bycycle around Luangphrabang. But the best thing at Mojo was very nice...
the owner kan is a really cool guy who is very young and it seems like he caters to a younger crowd. he helped me with everything i needed from bargaining for soccer jerseys to booking tickets to vang vieng and riding elephants. he also had a bbq one of the nights we were there. my iphone was stolen in pakse and he alllowed me to use his computer and check my email and...
I stayed in Spacy Lao Backpackers longer than I wanted. The best is location - not so far from the city and night market. This place is lovely - great but confused personal, clean rooms and lots of interesting people around. If you want to meet lots of people, this is the best place. But if you are looking for a quiet place - don't choose this hostel. There is a camp...
Great place with just two basic rooms in a bungalow directly at the Mekong. There are hammocks and matresses in the garden to relax and enjoy the view. The boat trip with Mike was fantastic! He shows you the real 4000 islands and has much knowledge about the region to share with you. We can also recommend the food in the restaurant which is cooked by his wife Tip, wh...
If only I could stay here at Nana forever lol. Had to leave for vientiane but decided to just come back here instead and stay for few nights more. seriously had a lot of fun here every single day. my friends and I really enjoyed the service of the staff and their friendliness. We even got to hang out and party with some of the staff outside so it was cool! very chill ...
the staff were super friendly here, we were made to feel very much at home and were even invited to eat dinner with the family most evenings. usually we keep to our selves in the evenings and stay in our room but at this hotel we found ourselves gravitating toward the common areas and socialising. the staff were very helpful both with the history and information of ...
I get 6-female dormitory with bathroom on 3rd floor. (+) more cheaper but nice facilities (+) location is near stadion & Lao National Museum. I always walk to night market (Mekong River) (+) the staff can speak English more well than the other hostel staff. They are very friendly. Available airport transfer by motorcycle, LAK 32.000 (+) the room is clean. The bed & p...
The location is by the end of the main street a bit away from the main road but its still easy to go around just by walk. And because its away from the most busy area the room really quiet. The upper stairs with balcony is best. Free wifi, properly working. Nice advise for where to go for doing what. The price among the hotels is valuable. Highly recommend!!
Returned to Avalon for an additional night on my way back from the north. This time I took a smaller room which I regretted as it was really tiny. You could hardly walk around the bed and the bathroom was nothing more than a toilet with a shower in it. I booked the room for 2, but when I checked in I was alone (my partner was parking the car) and they gave me a breakf...
This is a NEW HOSTEL 1 year old. They have thick bed mattress which I have looked for. I got back pain in many other places because of too thin/cheap bed mattress. Hostel is very clean or at least cleaner any other hostels. Because everything here is new, owner takes care of them well to keep it last long. Free breakfast with care! They offer two eggs, sandwiches an...
For anyone heading to BKK after, I asked one of the people that worked there and they gave me a price of tuktuk and bus to border way over than it really was. Maybe they were trying to get me book the trip to bkk through them, but it’s all good. Tuk tuk to bus station should be no more 30000 kip. Bus to lao-thai border is 8000kip. Train from Nong Khai to BKK is 898 Bah...
It's a pretty decent place to stay. I've been in the female dorm aka. "The Queens Room" and everything was clean and you have your own power socket and a lamp. Air-conditioning works but is not very strong. 5-10 Minute walk into the city. The staff is friendly but the one woman can't speak any English (not her fault however a little bit annoying). For Breakfast there...

I stayed in a former royal residence in Southern Laos back in 2010 so when I learned that Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel is also a former royal residence, I became eager to stay in this hotel on my next trip to Laos. While planning for my trip I found this hotel in the AGODA website so I did not hesitate to book a room. Although the package did not include breakfast my sis...
Stayed here for one night and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was very hospitable. Breakfast buffet was nice and had an omelette station/eggs your way made to order. Waitresses very attentive. The rooms are very handsomely appointed. Nice furnishings. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bright bathroom with shower and separate bathtub. The water pressure in the sho...
We loved our time at the BelleRive. Sure it is more expensive than most other places but was so worth it for a romantic getaway. We had one of the loft rooms in the main building, which was a beautiful design, the huge bed upstairs with the bathroom, closet, safe, chairs and minibar below. The building itself is french colonial but well restored, with modern twists to ...
this is one of the best located hotel in laos. the building itself was a villa of a lao royal family, and surrounded by historical temples. in a minute walk you will find a river covered by nature. the room was quite well equipped, a good bathtab, shower, hairdrier, etc. it is quiet, except for the gong you hear in early morning from the temple next door, but it is a p...
The Golden Sun Hotel. It’s a little old & worn but with character. Inside it reminds me of old Colonial buildings. Nice carved woodwork everywhere. Large open curved stairway to the 1st floor. A lift that works. Pools on both ground & third floors. (third floor pool is warmer.) The room we had was on the 5th floor, which was a very good size, large comfortable bed & w...
Had a comfortable stay in a one bedroom suite, which is more reasonably priced than anything similar you'll find elsewhere in the region. Stayed 3 nights here, after having to stay an unexpected extra night from my originally booked 2 nights. Breakfast was quite good, could have slightly more western choices but it was still very acceptable. Also, proper Lao coffee li...
+ very high standard for a Lao hotel, modern rooms (even though I did not like these grey walls), very nice pool, good quality breakfast (only the croissants are not good), nice atmosphere and nice staff - running trail in fitness center was badly maintained and dangerous, rooms are small, little bit away from the old city (always having to go by shuttle bus) = it is a...
Actually this is a good service apartments with basic facilities such as kitchen, many types of rooms, bar cafe, and gym (No swimming pool). You need to ask the cooking tools from the hotel if you want to use it, but they will ask you how long you will stay and i don't what is the purpose of that question. I also having trouble communicate with their staff for a while ...
One of the best boutique hotels I have stayed at in Asia. The hotel was super clean, quiet, the staff went out of their way to please us, the bed was very comfortable, nice shower and a great breakfast. When we make it back to Vang Vieng we will for sure be staying at the Eden!
We stayed in January 2012 and the hotel was not yet open, this appeared to be reflected in the price we paid so we were OK with that, So the gym was not open, there were no pool chairs etc I suggest if a facility is important and you are going shortly then check before you go. We had a great stay because our bed had was uber comfortable, brand new, as were the sheets, ...
We were a group of 3 adults in a triple room with mountain views and balcony. The view was spectacular and the 3rd floor was high enough to get above the surrounding buildings. There is no view of the river though. The staff were super friendly although their english was limited so be patient and polite and everything will be fine. The hotel is a couple of streets away...
Our stay on this hotel upgrade the trip from great to excellent. we arrived very late at 2AM in the morning, but the staff waited for us. we got a place to sleep that night and do the check in paperwork the next day. Staff are friendly and will try to accommodate you as much as they can, i am very impressed. stayed at lovely bungalows, spacious, bathroom with hot wate...
My stay at the hotel was exceptional and allowed me to enjoy the delights of Luang Prabang with the utmost comfort for a decent price - the time and effort they took to decorate the rooms was noticed in the overall quality - really nice ! The staff (as all of Laos) where some of the best in the world - offering the highest service - of course the location was key - in ...
It was average at best. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's in the center of town and super convenient for tourist. You can walk to get a massage, eat, and shop. Laos people are super nice by nature but the staff needs professional training. I understand the language very well and can hear them speak to each other. They lack tack, proper chain of ...
The complex is in very good condition for a jungle style facility if you are active and would like to see the remote north of Laos this is as good as it gets, do not expect a 5 star city hotel in this location or at these prices, they do not exist, but this is the best realistic option, hard to fault, friendly staff excellent English speaking French manager 'Ben' Must...
Savannakhet does not have a huge range of hotels but this is one of the best ones in terms of size and facilities. Sited on the banks of the Mekong, a little way from the centre of town, it is popular with both local dignitaries and travelling foreign organised parties touring Laos. There was even a complete film crew staying when we were there. I spoiled us by book...
the aspara rive doite may be the best hotel that we've ever stayed in. happily, since we were in laos, this five star room and service came at a fraction of the price that one would pay in the first world. beautiful scenery, lovely rooms, and a conscientious, english-speaking staff.
We extended our stay at the Riverresort as we loved it so much. After traveling through Laos for a month this was a welcome retreat with an amazing setting by the Mekong and an infinity pool to admire e views. The villas are clean, beautiful and feature an outdoor shower and nice verandas. The food is fantastic and easily the best I had in Laos, if a bit pricey. The...

We stayed here after touring Laos for a last few days of luxury and we were not disappointed. Like everywhere it’s the staff that make a good hotel great and this was great. There were extra little treats in our room each day, a lovely idea and much appreci...
This is hands down the best deal I ever received in a hotel in Laos. The sleeping system in my room was second to none and was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in my life. In terms of professionalism and quality of stay, you can't beat the Crowne. I've stayed here twice and have loved it both times. The restaurant/breakfast is v...
This incredible boutique hotel is really something!Under the caring and ever watchful eye of hotelier Philippe Bissig my wife and I Felt we were guests in a private home. The hotel gives a visit of nostalgic charm of Indochina. It is conservative in decor but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is large. There is a swimming pool too; unusual to find in hotels in Laos.

staying at this hotel was the highlight of our trip. it is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are very helpful and nice and always there just when you need them. it has one of the nicest pools we have ever been in. the suites are in villas spaced around the grounds, and are very nicely done, with very high quality materials throughout. it feels very luxurious and uniq...
We have lived in Asia for seven years now and have traveled extensively and stayed in many hotels, resorts, and a few guest houses. The Lao Plaza Hotel though not as elaborate as some other five star hotels in other SE Asian countries, did not disappoint us. The breakfast was one of the best we have experienced--lots of variety for East and West but all very tasty. ...

They served our breakfast one by one picked up from hotel to villa, and the guard makes me feel really safe(even though the front door of villa doesnt look safe). They have nice 4 bi...
The hotel is located slightly up the hill as soon as you reach the laos border. As others have mentioned the hotel was pretty much empty. The hotel is painted completely in gold but everything was of high quality and the bedrooms are huge. The beds wore by far the comfiest I've stayed in se Asia. I get the impression that the hotel was intended to be a luxury accommod...
A new gem has been found. Located 10 minutes drive from town, close but not to far, the landscape of the resort is ideal, with a small river and waterfall running through. Room design and decoration are jaw dropping. Laotian food is very tasty and price affordable. This resort has set new high standard for luxury resort in Luang Prabang.
