A Phnom Penh institution”
If you want to stay riverside in Phnom Penh, this is the best location. The deluxe (balcony) room gives the best people watching location, right opposite the river on the corner of 178th Street. Our room was spacious and attractive with really lovely decor. The bathroom was well equipped with a full size bathtub and rain flow shower above. Although the only full length mirror was opposite the bath and not where I wanted to use it! It was not so easy to get in and out of the shower. This is not a hotel for anyone with mobility issues as everything is upstairs and there is no lift. The included breakfast is served in the bar/restaurant and the food was well prepared although all hot dishes had to be modified for vegetarians. It really is time that they reviewed the breakfast menu. I loved staying at the FCC and at about US$74 per night it was a good deal.

Fantastic location but strange entrance”
We stayed only for a night at one of the deluxe rooms, which was different from the photo we saw on the website. It still had a balcony but with a restricted view of the river and is surprisingly close to the opposite building so we didn't really go out onto the balcony nor did we open the curtains which was something we would have liked to do to enjoy the sunlight. The entrance to the deluxe room was also rather strange on the other side of the street instead of being right above the reception area, which I guess gives some privacy but no security at all. However the location is perfect, right at the heart of the tourist area, just 2 minutes walk to the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museums as well as an abundance of choices of restaurants and bars. The view from the restaurant was also great - very open to the river and the sunlight in the mornings. Service - we returned to Phnom Penh on the last day of our trip and wanted to store our luggage at the hotel when we go for a last walk before we board our flight and that was done very quickly without any questions asked. Perfect for a shopping/sighseeing trip.

Like a home away from home in Phnom Penh”
Was like having your own apartment right in the middle of Phnom Penh, all the attractions within walking distance river mere metres and with the feel of your own apartment. Shower was massive and the balcony overlooking the river and street was huge. The restaurant and bar was clearly a draw card for many expats and was packed morning and night which is a testament to the quality. Overall enjoyed the FCC knowing the history and everything around there makes this a worthwhile base for any kind of traveller.

An oasis in Phnom Penh”
We stayed at the FCC for two nights and it was fantastic. The room was like a haven in the madness of Phnom Penh. A very warm welcome, we arrived on Christmas day, and had a surprise gift waiting on the bed. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. Although there was a restaurant/bar on top and loads of traffic outside, the room was quiet. The breakfast was awesome, and lots of choices - and you could have it delivered to your room.

The FCC is an institution in Phnom Penh”
I have been going to the FCC since 1993 when working in Phnom Penh, but this is our first stay there. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room (Ta Prom) was clean and well set up, and nothing beats sitting on the roof at sunset - brought back a lot of memories. The only suggestion that I could make was that there should be a grab handle in the shower/tub in Ta Prom, as it has a wide skirt and can be awkward to get in and out when it is wet.

Boutique hotel with great atmosphere and history”
This was a beautiful location on the riverfront in Phnom Penh. Our room was furnished in a Zen-style decor, but each of the other rooms is a different style. The third floor dining area overlooking the riverfront promenade was our favourite spot in Phnom Penh and we kept coming back. There is a excellent atmosphere of history in this hotel, being the former location of the Foreign Correspondents Club, with numerous photographs spread throughout the building.

Lovely hotel with sumptous breakfast.”
it was a nice stay in fcc phnom penh, despite the surprise by the small reception . the room is big, spacious and bathroom perfect. the balcony looks over the street and river, nice view in the morning and evening. breakfast is fantastic, sumptous but a little too heavy for a samll eater.

great location with historic charm”
not the cheapest place in phnom penh, but if you want to finish your holiday in a place with character rather another sterile bland hotel the fcc fits the bill. its a bit like raffles and has all the charm of an old french colonial building.

Great centrally located hotel ”
the hotel/bar/restaurant is an icon and is very busy. its worth a visit to the fcc to experience the atmosphere. the staff are really great & will go out of their way to help you. the room was big and very clean, my only niggle is there was no where to put my case, so i left it on the floor, and you can't leave the curtains open, as the people sat in the bar next door on the 1st floor can watch you! the area is very busy and can be quite noisy, so if your a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs. the tuktuk drivers that hang out the front of the fcc and along the riverfront are pricey, you can walk round the corner & get them a bit cheaper. i thought the choice for breakfast was good, the eggs benedict could compete with some places in london i've been to but i wasn't keen on the very strong tasting sausages. the restaurant food is not cheap compared to what you can get in phnom penh but i thought there was a good choice and it tasted great and was well presented. also, the service staff are well trained but you need to be specific.

Historical Hotel in Good Location”
The FCC Hotel (Foreign Correspondents Club) is in the downtown area of Pnom Penh overlooking the river, and in a row of restaurants and bars along the waterfront. Other tourist attractions are just a short tuk tuk ride away. The FCC is most famous nowadays for cocktails on the balcony, and gets busy every evening. In the 70s it was home of many foreign correspondents covering the terrible Khmer Rouge years. There are around 10 rooms which are basic but acceptable. The breakfast was a la carte with a good choice. Hotel staff were friendly and eager to please. An excellent sunset cruise, duration 1 hour, departs at 17.15 from a quay close to the hotel. The nearby genocide museum is sobering, but educational and worth a visit.

Historical hotel, awesome loccation”
Not your usual modern cookie cutter hotel but a historical place with a lot of character. The rooms a comfortable, nicely furnished. The restaurant upstairs is a Phnom Penh Landmark. This will be my hotel of choice any time I return to Phnom Penh.

Great experience ”
The FCC is an institution in PP. It was very exciting to stay there and the hotel is fabulous. The reception is not impressive, just a small counter, but they are very helpful. Our room was very large overlooking the street and the river. I believe it is normally very noisey with traffic etc but we arrived in PP just days after the death of their beloved King and our street was closed to all traffic which meant it was quiet. All day and into the night there was a quiet procession of PP inhabitants who walked down our street to visit the Royal Palace which was right next door. There were thousands of people in front of the Royal Palace at all times, quiet, refined, gentle Cambodians all dressed in black and white. The restaurant and bar of the FCC is famous and a must visit even if you are not staying there. The food is excellent and they sell Aussie wine - a great bonus for me as I don't drink beer.

Somewhat a disappointment”
After staying at the excellent FCC Angkor, we decided to change our reservations in Phnom Penh and stay at the Cambodian capital's FCC. Since my wife was injured and would not be able to walk for the next few days, she would need to stay at the hotel for the whole day, and could use good cable TV, stable wi-fi etc. Unfortunately we were greatly disappointed. Even though the hotel's has its charms and a good location, I wouldn't recommend it. Despite the relatively high price, wi-fi and cable did not work at all and the staff, while attentive, could not help us in fixing the problems. Room service was also not the fastest (breakfast and food in general were still very good, though). Located beneath the upstairs restaurant, the room (Banteay Srei) was very noisy, both at night and early in the morning. I am sure there are better options in Phnom Penh for the same or cheaper price...

Exceptional”
Iconic FCC. A great little boutique hotel in the heart of PP. Nice alternative to the countless other anonymous hotels. The FCC bar up stairs is a great place to hang out and watch the Mekong pass by. One of the great bars of south east Asia

back in time”
If you have to go to Phnom Penh stay in the FCC. The city itself is not really interesting to see. There are not many good restaurants and the men groups and single guys with their socks and sandals looking for girls are annoying to say the least, we could do without them. So don't go out alone at night; take a tuk tuk.

Fabulous hotel with great location”
love this hotel since it is cosy with the history behind! the building itself gives you the taste of the 1980s with the wooden staircase and large rooms with balcony(recommend deluxe room)!! breakfast is the best in town and it's sumptuous! i just return to the fcc siem reap for the breakfast (and i regret not booking fcc in siem reap). staff are helpful and friendly and i would give 100 marks for the stay here!

Great location”
Helpful staff, good bar / cafe, great location, fine rooms. We were originally given a balcony room off the street but were unhappy with the security and the noise from the bars so they moved us to a much better room in the main hotel. Room 'Banteay Srei' had lovely wooden floorboards, was spacious, had a great view out the back to the National Museum and was very quiet. White cotton sheets, good bathroom products, wifi worked, aircon. Bathroom a bit tired (especially towels) but clean with the usual water bottle to brush teeth - a must. Breakfast good - proper teas and coffees but sadly no fresh juice - a la carte menu rather than buffet. Same breakfast menu as FCC Siem Reap so repetitive but lots of choices - good eggs benedict, french toast and fresh fruit. The location was the real deal clincher - close to the museum, palace and bars and restaurants. Would recommend here for the atmosphere and history or Amanjaya looked great down the road for something more up to date.
