My Stay at the Garden Plaza”

I would recommend this hotel because of it's location from the Manila airport. It has an upper floor w/a pool which is small but a very nice one. And I also liked the inside area w/benches and plants, a place to go relax and be inside with a very nice atmosphere. And away from the sunshine for a bit. The price was good I think for what you get. I paid $42.USD per night for 2 nights. I think it was a good price for the comfort! And the smiles I got when I checked in. Garden Plaza, I will return in 2008!! Thanks

                  Location. Staff.Large Room.

I really enjoyed my couple of days at the Garden Plaza. Hotel is old with large rooms ... It also has a small pool on the roof top. Hotel is situated in a quite area however close enough to walk to the malls etc at Malate.Staff were excellent ... Would highly recommend this somewhat unusual hotel particularly those on a budget.

                  Motel Review”

Location and comfort as this is the third time I have used this Hotel in the past 3 years
Please go to Country Inns and Suites and check out what a continental breakfast is. I believe this Hotel could do alot better in internet descrption when it is claimed that complimentary breakfast is offered and only serves bread and coffee (as a combat veteran our prisoners recieve better hospitality. It would be in the best interest of Garden Plaza not to even offer anything and delete their claim in the internet.

I was very content with my usual stay at the Garden Plaza. My wife I have always enjoyed going to this Hotel because it is usually quiet even though there is a Fire Department close by. We also enjoy the area where it is located and the comfort it offers with a professional atmosphere. This year I noticed Garden Plaza offered complimentary breakfast to their guests. Sad to say this does not even qualify as continental. I stress that this false claim of compimentary breakfast statement be stricten from the internet. As a Combat Veteran I know our prisoners were treated better than only having a roll and coffee.

The hotel staff was very friendly and professional during my stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The house keeping staff was very friendly and professional. I had a couple of issues with the room and when i brought them to the hotel staff they corrected them right away. I brought a camera with me and the hotel loaned me a transformer for the room so i could charge the battery of the camera because local power is 220v. The hotel restaurant is very nice and friendly but they charge american prices for their meals.

They are renovating and the pounding was rigth on top of my room,it is even hard to hear the TV the bathroom was flooded there is water coming from the wall and the shower head is off target,it is higher than the curtain so if you turn it on water is outside and flood the are.the room smells very moldy too if my husband was with me Im sure it is not going to work but because it is only me I put up with it for 2 nigths. Now I have second thought about going there nextime.

Small Hotel Hidden Near Paco Park”

It is near My Kitchen (a really nice Italian Place, although a bit pricey), It is quiet (located near Paco Park), Hotel looks old but still clean and nice

This hotel is a bit hard to locate if you are not familiar with Manila. It is actually located near Paco Park and very near Oasis Hotel. The rooms are so-so, but i guess that is what you get for the price. For an old hotel, its quit nice and decent and near My Kitchen & Old Swiss Inn Restaurants. The price in Agoda is a bit more expensive than if you go there directly where for the same price you get free breakfast as well. If you are a business traveler who just needs a place to stay in for the night, then this should do for the price. But if you want to go around Malate or be near public transportation, then you might want to consider another hotel.

The food at The Old Swiss Inn restaurant is great...and the staff does their best to provide special requests of the guest.

when we arrived at the hotel, my companion and i was greeted by a smiling face, even the guard is courteous. since my reservation was made on-line, i think that time there was a delay from agoda and they haven't received any confirmation on their part, but although that was the case they did honor the voucher and even provided me an upgrade without any extra cost. if you are looking for a hotel that is affordable yet has good people...this is the hotel to stay!u

The staff was excellent and so helpful. Everything was available that i needed and if it was not then they told me and helped me as to acquire it.
As it was my first time to Manilla i did not really know where to stay so i think i would have liked a different area a little better so i could reach everything by walking. The kitchenette that i thought was included was not and it cost extra to have them set it up. One roll of bathroom tissue daily, not really enough for 2 people when one is a female

I thought the hotel for the money was great and the staff was excellent and very helpful. I would stay there again in a second, but i was not sure where to stay since first time in manilla. If i had my way i would be in the center of everything so i could just walk everywhere and not have to mess with the taxi's and jeepney's. They are very good and effecient but with a bad back hopping in and out of the jeepney's often is not too good, and that is when they are full and you have to crawl up to the front of them. Overall stay was great and i thought the place and the staff was as good as they get and the price was exceptional.

I booked this hotel for my girlfriend to stay at passing through. So this hotel does allow a 3rd party like myself to book for them. From her, I found she and her son enjoyed the hotel. The bed was quite comfortable and they were happy with the room size. However, the location of the hotel was not ideal as they got lost walking from Robinsons back to the hotel. The area is a bit shady and not the most honest people in the area, so she was afraid to ask strangers. I don't blame her. Shady area and a bit confusing in the dark walking from Robinsons. However, good value for the price. This hotel is also suitable for young kids as my gf brought her 4 year old year with her.

There are little cockroaches that sometimes show up. They dont have a gym, health club or fitness center at the hotel, but in the neighboorhood. It is not free internet. They have nicer areas in Manila or Makati that you can stay. You can live without the Old Swiss Inn Breakfast... some toasts, butter and gelly. Taxis that stay in front of the hotel usually dont use taximeter and are over priced.

The hotel was situated within easy reach of all the local amenities and felt quite friendly, if a little sparse of staff at the time that I stayed - they did go out of their way to help me to my room in spite of the fact that I only had the one bag! Unfortunately the pool was still closed when I arrived. The room I booked (Superior) was nothing particularly special, but it was adequate for someone looking for a roof over their head, with bath/toilet/wash basin, two large beds, air con and TV facilities with various channels (for anyone interested in killing a little time). Adequate for the price .

                  Location

With some imagination and investment, this could make a charming boutique hotel with a courtyard garden surrounding a pool. Unfortunately, the owners have decided to cram in as many rooms as possible and turn the courtyard into a car park and utility area. Corridors leading to the guest rooms are gloomy and forbidding and many rooms have no window. The place looked to me like a serious firetrap and I worried about my safety in case a fire had broken out during the night. This is a shame, because there is so much potential here. The hotel has a great location in a quiet side street on the edge of Malate, The public areas of the hotel are quite pleasant, however guests are given no reason to linger there. Incongruously, the hotel restaurant reproduces the atmosphere of an old Swiss inn and is quite pleasant, and my breakfast was quite good, but guests are obliged to pay for meals and other purchases in cash rather than charging them to their rooms, which I found inconvenient and rather insulting

this place is a real find in the hustle and bustle of metro manila. there is a large courtyard in the center of the hotel, and it lends to a quite, if old, elegant feeling. robinsons mall is not too far away, less than 1 minutes on foot, or a very short taxi ride. paco park is just next to the hotel.
