JMM Grand Suites
Malate,Manila - View on map
"Was allocated a room in the 31st floor. Wonderful location because hotel is adjacent to Robinson’s Ermita Mall where wonderful restaurants and shops are. The streets within the perimeter of the hotel is dirty and busy with lots of pubs and bars around the area. Security is great as access is only permitted to cardholders or those booked within the hotel. The room is spacious, with everything you need in it to make your stay comfortable. It has a kitchennette, TV cable, fridge and ofher basic amenities such as toothbrush, slippers and soft couch. Bed is comfortable, bathroom is spacious, hot and cold shower is strong and good. One of the few budget hotels in manila and makati that has a microwave to heat your food! Floor is wooden tiles that makes the ambience of the room so cozy. Service by staff is great! Negative feedback is that the room is adjacent to the trash room of the 31st floor which stinks in a hot and hunid weather. Aircon is noisy which kept me awake all night! "

"It was so nice at the end of the day to return to a quiet clean room with a very comfortable bad. The security and desk staff were very helpful in arranging taxis and helping with tour arrangements. I have stayed in about 5 other hotels in Manila, I will come back to this one."

Malate Pensionne

"I've made a booking here for my Indonesian friend who had a 20-hrs. layover in Manila and the recommendation came from my friend and Agoda to push through with the booking. The establishment itself was not just a business but a reflection of Manila's grandeur through the olden times. It was a good introduction to my friend on experiencing what it is like to live in a Manila house as it was retrofit for business when the family decided to put it on business. The location was nearby important historical landmarks such as the Malate Church (British base during the occupation) which is walking distance and a jeep away will take you to the heart of the City of Manila; only the downside of the hostel is it was quite hidden - might quite have a challenge if you manually look for it. If you worry about restaurants, there's plenty around the area! Staff were extremely friendly and great - true Filipino hospitality. Other areas to improve are WiFi, cleanliness, maintenance and mosquito problems."

Hotel Sogo Recto
Quiapo,Manila - View on map
"Before I made my booking and reservation at Hotel Sogo, I red about the comments first of those who had already stayed and experienced the hotel for any ideas and the probability of looking for another better hotel. Many are worst few are goods, but still I booked because it is one of the most convenient and closest to university belt. First, you have to book or reserve before making an arrival to Hotel Sogo to avoid long line of customers waiting for available rooms. It may take hours or even half day just waiting and we don't like that do we. Hotel Sogo is in demand specially to students taking board exam. Second, book for comfort. Some comments says they hear unnecessary noises coming from other rooms or obscene view in the hallway. I had booked for deluxe room for my sister and I , a few bucks higher to premium room rates, but the space and comfort it provides are especially needed. Third, of course hotels have flaws and Hotel Sogo is not an exception. The food sucks and pricey based on taste. Fast food chains and restos are near the vicinity so no problem with that. A little problem with the shower and faucet, but maintenance can solve that problem real fast and service is quite efficient, aircon is in the minimum you cannot adjust the coolness. "

Stone House Bed and Breakfast

"i enjoyed my stay here so much that i extended my reservation another week +. the staff was so friendly and helpful after the 2nd or 3rd day, when they realized i was booked for more than few days and i got to know some very well. i had hoped to move here (the philippines) to retire, and am now absolutely certain this is where i want to live the restof my life, in part because of these people. i have located small apartment in pampanga province (only a little more than 1 hr. north of manila, and because i will need to renew my visa every 59 days, i now have good excuse for staying at stonehouse regularly!"

Favila Transient Rooms
Pasay,Manila - View on map
"The best thing about this hotel is its location and cost. If you have a flight out of Terminal 3 in the morning you can easily walk there from here. The owners are very nice. The room is okay. The bathroom is another thing. No water heater for shower so I hope you enjoy a cold one. No seat on toilet just have to sit straight on the bowl. Just be aware of that. If you can hang with that then stay here. I would recommend for people staying just a night who have to be at the airport before sunrise"

"Stayed here for a night I'd say it was worth it for the price i paid. The staff was very accommodating and enthusiastic in helping until we got settled in our room. The room was clean and organized. The place is not that easy to find though because there were no signboards"
