Best hotels & accommodations in Historic City Center

Good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Location is quite central so you can walk to Roma and Condessa and within 25 minutes to the historical center. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast buffet. The only negative point is that you can't open the windows!

Hotel El Salvador is located a stone 's throw away from the historical centre of Mexico City , very walkable , approx 5-10mins . Even through the neighbourhood it is located in is not as commercialised , we see police patrolling and don't feel unsafe . The hotel is clean and modern . There is wifi and computers for use. Only problem we encountered was that almost all...

Our stay was very pleasant. This hotel is situated in the historical part of the city & within walking distance to the palace & museum & the ancient city. The hotel however did not have any room service & there were limited Resturants close by. The buffet breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about. The staff were fantastic & extremly professional & our room was very c...

I want to give the Casa Gonzalez a favorable review - there are many things that make it the perfect place to stay. Location for us was perfect. Short taxi rides to most places we wanted to visit and a leisurely walk to many neighborhoods like the historic center, Chapultapec, Roma, Condessa. Countless bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel has a very secluded feel, ...

Love this place as it is walking distance to all the places we want to go & also accessible to most of the hot spot in Mexico City. The room is small as compare to the other hotel we have stayed in but it is still comfortable. There are free breakfast everyday & we were happy that they provide different Mexican dishes every morning so that we can try them out. It is in...

When my family and I arrived we were very tired, so we were desperate to put our feet up and relax. The hotel attendant who welcomed us was very unfriendly and didn't explain anything about the charges. When I converted the exchange rate from the pesos they charged us per night to aussie dollars it didn't seem right. Because I couldn't be bothered going through the bil...

If you describe the stay there, it's quite nice and clean. I loved how reception people are nice and room cleaning people are nice too. They all work with smile. That's what I really liked. One more I liked he most is bathroom. In Mexico there are so many cheap hotel whose bathroom is quite dirty. But this hotel is super new. Beside that, they clean quite well. I woul...

Easy access to hop on hop off bus stop, convenience shop and authentic mexico restaurant. Don't expect much on the room facilities, they r selling location. Room have no fan, Tv channel not much selection and it old fashion Tv box. Breakfast not much selection but it give you full enough. To be fair for hotel, overall staying here is still acceptable.

The place with sofas are just at the dorms entrance and people stay here all the night to talk sometimes with music, this is bad and not possible to close one of the door so we have light aswell. The receptionists are good and the bathroom not bad, the cleaning women spend a long time to clean everywhere everyday. Good location.

There's not much English spoken here, so if you freak out at not being able to communicate easily, this might be a problem. However, the young man now on afternoon/evening duty (3-11) lived in the US most his life so is bilingual. Morning staff aren't, though they can rustle up someone to translate as needed. This by way of preface to saying it's a MEXICAN hotel - not...

A very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Elevators a little old but reliable. The rooms were of average size and clean. Cable TV available. Very reasonable in price and in an excellent location. Located in the Historic Area of Mexico City walking distance from the major sight seeing areas of the city. Very close to Zocalo.

For someone's first time in Mexico City, this would be a good place stay. It is god location to go out and look around the city. There so called gym facility was horrible and smelled just as bad. The room was decent as quiet and quite spacious. The bathroom was a good size and clean, the showerheads were dirty just like most hotels have them. The staff was nice and att...

Mexiqui Zocalo was a fantastic place to stay in Mexico City. It is in an incredible location - right in the square but surprisingly quiet at night. I recommend if you aren't a good sleeper to ask for a room away from the hangout. Our room was right next to it and there were loud people in there. In saying that, they do have quiet times (after midnight, I think). Great ...

Nice and clean hotel. Metro is just right around the corner. The only problem was that I could not get my laptop connects to internet. The signal is low on the 5th floor. The gentleman, the senior, is very nice person and helpful during check in process.

Very welcome arrival and was put at rest to find the reception staff could speak some English as my Spanish is poor. The room was big and kept very clean throughout our stay there. The restaurant had a large menu and served till 11pm, if needed, and reasonably priced drinks (when compared to some of the bars outside). There are so many nearby restaurants however we were...

Posada Vienna is a really cool hotel - especially the wonderful funky Mexican folk art and decor. It's also very quiet and relaxed, which is fairly unusual for the heart of frantic, noisy Mexico City! It's a good location - 2 blocks from a Metro stop, and close (but not too close) to the city center. It seems that Mexicans like harder beds and pillows than Americans...

Great location near the center and at a 5 min walk from the most useful subway lines, plus there's a few interesting markets nearby. Big rooms, king size beds, friendly staff. The area is a bit sketchy at night, but no worries in the hotel. Can't ask more for the price, this is the perfect place to go when you travel on a budget !
Cheapest hotels in Historic City Center

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent suggestions to compliment plans we had already made and ideas for free time during our stay. Location was also excellent, right in the historic city center within walking distance of a variety of dining, entertainment and cultural options. We attended two of their tour packages that included an evening trip to a luch...

Walking distance to the center of Mexico City and inside of luxuly mall, the hotel is located on the perfect spot. However, once in the room it looks old and not clean, so it was a bit disappointing especially when it had been perfect until lobby and the pics of room is so nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and when I don't speak spanish and it's not easy ...

Bed bugs; I was itchy the whole night and felt things crawl on me. I even put down clothes and towel to sleep on but it only helped a little. The room was stuffy and no ac or fan. I open the window which helped a little bit u can see right across from neighbor and increase noise. So I woke up with many mite bites on my skin which confirms there where mites in the bed :...

I loved staying at the Suite Lerma. Very clean facility with nice staff. On a great street with tons of restaurants to choose from, and a 5 minute walk to the Seville metro stop. One block away from the main avenue. The room was on the smaller side, but I felt was a great value considering the price. Would recommend to my friends.

this is a great deal if you are a non pretencious person, and you are just lokking for a nice affordable place to stay. is very well located, kind of hide but one st walk from reforma av. and about 15 min walking to downtown, chapultepec and other nice areas clean, not fancy, minimum ammenities(just soap, and drinking water) witha nice pool onn the roof,a huge plus to relax...

Hotel Plaza Garibaldi was a great base for us as we explored Mexico City for the first time. walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to Belles Artes and also the Zocalo (ok, maybe 12 minutes to there). Plus you get to see all the activity at Garibaldi Plaza! Great market in the plaza for meals, and grab a drink on top of the terrace of the Mezcal & Tequila Museum also ...

The hotel is well connected to hotel if taking airport autobus. Cheap and convenient way transfer to/from airport. It's also within walking distance to the Centro historic / Palacio de Bella Artes. Room is clean and with all basics what a traveller needs. Value for money option.

The hostel is located near city's highlights. I could have good breakfast every morning. Staff was very kind and friendly. One thing I didn't like was the light of the double room is dark, so I couldn't read a book at the evening without additional light of my mobile.

I really love this city, the Zona Rosa area and this hotel. The Royal is located right next to the DF public security ministry headquarters, and there are always armed police around the block. You´ll never be safer! There´s a Santanter Serfin ATM a block away. If you have a Bank of America card, there is no charge for withdrawls at this bank in Mexico. It´s a qu...

Coffee machine, computer with free printing, free breakfast downstairs at Le Pain Quotidian, clean rooms. The only drawback I would mention is that it’s in a lively area so at night on weekends there is a lot of street noise, but we preferred being amidst all the action and close to everything so that was fine for us. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The rooms were surprisingly nice - with separate kitchen and living room. The bed was made from memory foam which I LOVED. Pillows were not comfy so if you are picky, recommend to bring your own. This hotel need to seriously check their cleanliness especially their carpet in the room. The location is excellence. The hotel is beautiful even it is old but looks classic but I will not return there again as there were dust everywhere even I and my little daughter could not sleep at night because we could not breath.

We enjoyed the perfect rooms both in private and public space of this hotel. It is a part of service apartment, then we really felt at home during our stay in two days. All the clean facilities in our room having dining/theater room/bed room/toilet were enough to do everything relaxed. Hotel staffs were very kind and polite, and residents I met at Gym were also very po...

Suites Havre is great value for the location. Convenience shops nearby, great restaurants in the area and within 10 min walking distance to Insurgentes metro station. Front desk and concierge spoke very good English which was really helpful to me. Hotel is located very close to paseo de reforma and there are many good restaurants also dime stores near by. More about Historic City Center
The best way to see the Historic City Center is on foot as many of the streets have recently been pedestrianized. Tolsá Plaza is home to the National Museum of Art. One of the most beautiful buildings in the Historical Centre, it houses a collection representing the history of Mexican art from the late pre-Hispanic era to the early 20th century. Nearby is the wonderful Palace of Fine Arts, one of the most magnificent concert halls in the world. Alameda Central was once an Aztec marketplace and features green gardens with paved paths and decorative fountains. The first skyscraper in the city, The Latin-American Tower, offers spectacular views of the entire city. The area offers a wealth of upscale eateries, bars and fashionable stores. Restaurants such as the Tacuba Café serve exquisite traditional Mexican dishes and are decorated with beautiful Talavera mosaics.
