Hoan Kiem District hotels & places to stay

Far exceeding my expectation! I stayed 5 days in a clean and convenient room. There is a lovely open space all the way to the glass roof that allows sun lights to fill the hallways. I was greeted at the marticulous lobby filled with comfortable tables and chairs that accommodate many relaxed guests and business groups alike. The swimming pool on rooftop is just as romantic as ever with soft music playing throughout the area. The services are designed to enhance your every pleasant moments, especially the solo piano performance in the evening. The walls are covered with classic and unique art creativities that reflect traditional values of Ha Noi. The rooftop is my favorite relaxation spot where I can discover the true beauty of Hoan Kiem lake after dinner. The bar staff always found a way to create a perfect drink for me, whether it was a light alcoholic cocktail or a fresh fruit beverage. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed the moments away from family like this trip. Only regret is that I was unable to locate a unique Ha Noi traditional musical performance; however, we shouldn't hold Apricot hotel responsible for that, I suppose. I stayed at this same location 18 years ago, under previous hotel called Phu Gia. I enjoyed it then, and I enjoy much more now. The price is definitely the most surprising of all. A must for everyone.

Whenever I visit Hanoi for business, I tend to stay Melia. This is one of better known and established hotels located in the central district, convenient location. Hoan Kiem lake is within a walking distance. Every feature of this hotel is above standard, though not the top level. While there are a few other hotel options in the Hanoi central district, Melia offers the best balance between price and performance.

During my stay in Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel, i was greatly impressed by the great art design of this luxury hotel located at the central of Hanoi Hoan Kiem District. The room is perfectly clean, staffs are nice and friendly, foods are marvellous, environment is greatly comfortable. It is worth to stay for few day trip in this hotel although it will be a little bit expensive compare with others. BUT, worth for money still.

Super clean, smells good and has a good vibe. The staff is very courteous and helped with whatever we needed. While the decor is pretty outdated, the hotel feels new. The room is big enough and comfortable. Please note that if you order a double bed - they just put the twin ones next to each other, which blocks access to all lightening switches and makes the reading lights unusable. Our room was at the back of the hotel and so the view was to another, very close, building. It did make for a quiet night though. The pool on the roof is cozy and fun and there’s a decent “gym” with weights, a bench and some treadmills. There’s a really nice jacuzzi as well and a dry and wet saunas. The location is really nice since it’s a bit further from the all-touristic old town and this feels more quiet and more a part of the genuine city, with wide boulevards and plenty of places to eat at. It’s also a 10 min walk away from Hoan Kiem lake.

really nice boutique hotel within easy walking distance of the old quarter, hoan kiem lake and the french quarter. the rooms are comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated. even though we had a deluxe double and not a suite, it was plenty spacious enough. we had previously stayed at the sister hotel, the elegance ruby, which we thought was the best in hanoi, but having now stayed at the elegance diamond, we can say that it's just as good! an added plus at the diamond is the top floor restaurant with spectacular views across the city, including over the hoan kiem lake and the red river.

2bedroom apartment was nice, and modern with flat screen tv in lounge and master bedroom. there was a stereo in lounge so we could just stick our ipod on. we went to overnight halong bay cruise after 2nights staying. then when we checked in back after halong bay cruise we got upgraded to much spacious 3bedroom apartment. lots of spaces to hang around. there was a supermarket on ground floor that you can buy everthing pretty much including wines. vodka, rum, even fresh veggies incl dairy products etc etc.. also there's a breakfast place on 4th floor called jaspers, that provides fresh good quality meals-i know this restaurant from ho chi minh city - that was one of my favorites. this hotel has a great location. old quarter around hoan kiem lake is walking distance, you can find pretty much everything there. souvenir shops, travel agents, hair salons, fake stuffs, all kinds of restaurants. highly recommended this hotel! enjoy your trip

The staff really try their best to make you feel welcomed and comfortable! No task was to small or difficult for them to try and assist with. We stayed for two weeks which I think is longer then most passing through the hotel and the staff made us feel like we had lived there forever remembering our names and what we liked asking about trips we had done and what we got up to during the day. Wasn’t very impressed with Agoda when we had a mix up with the booking but that was in no way down to the hotel. The hotel was mostly peaceful and relaxing although some noise from building but if you’ve seen Hanoi you can’t throw a stone with some sort of construction happening!! Very central and easy to walk to all areas with the beautiful temperate rooftop pool to unwind and relax after a lot of exploring. Thankyou a million times to the staff! We wish you all the best and Would highly recommend and hopefully can return Sometime!

Situated in hoan Kiem Lake Dist., this hotel provides convenience for those who want to walk to the lake and old st. We only stayed one night during new year eve, and we enjoyed both the proximity to NYE party and quietness of the room. Service staff wasn’t very enthusiastic but def. did their job professionally. Room space was clean and enough for 2. Breakfast choice was abundant and delicious. The only thing I noticed was the water pipe leakage underneath bathroom sink. This is minor and won’t change my overall positive rating to the hotel.

Bonsella is a gem! The locations so close to Hoan Kiem Lake, so very much in the center of the city. And the best part of the location is that cars are blocked from the street right across the hotel, so no need to worry about crossing the streets when walking to and from the hotel. (When in Hanoi, this is a huge relief) Despite being a new hotel, everyone is so professional and the hotel itself is so classy. I loved their modern interior and the rooms are quiet spacious too. And I must add that their room service is on point. We always returned to our room and marvelled on how clean it was. Their breakfast is a buffet but you can also order additional meals such as eggs, toasts, pancakes and such (of course, free of charge). I must say their baguettes and omelettes were my favorite. Do try them out. Every one of staff are so very lovely. They always tried to make sure my stay in Hanoi is nothing less than perfect. And thanks to them, I enjoyed every bit of my stay there. I really got the sense they really care for for my well being and their smiles and attempts in little Korean phrases really made my day. They even left a card on our bed in the evening telling us of the next day's weather. When we checked out, they gave us cute little souvenirs as goodbye gifts. One down side from my experience was that the guests (children) in the room in front of us decided that screaming at 5am in the morning as well as banging our doors throughout the evening for absolutely no reason was totally acceptable. I absolutely do not blame the hotel for this, in fact when we informed the receptionist about the problem, they solved it so professionally and apologized to us for the inconvenience. But it was unfortunate situation nevertheless. (Once again, the hotel is not at fault, just the unmannerly guests) To sum up, the hotel is exceptional and I definitely would return without a doubt. My septuagenarian parents and I went to Vietnam for the first time and we stayed at the Hanoi Brilliant Hotel for 4 nights. AS TO LOCATION, the Hanoi Brilliant is perfect being close to many restaurants, street diners, and shops. A bank with good rates is just 20 meters away. Hoan Kiem Lake is a short leisurely wallk from the hotel. AS TO THE HOTEL FACILITIES, both the bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and well-provided. Although there was no window to the inner rooms, I never felt claustrophobic at any time. The room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. Breakfast buffet was served daily at the top floor that kept us full to beyond lunchtime. AS TO THE STAFF, they were the best part of the hotel experience. The front desk staff was very courteous and really aim to please their guests. They even went out of their way by accompanying us to a nearby restaurant we couldn't find. They even surprised my dad with a cake on his birthday. We were sad to leave but will surely return.

Everything is excellent here. Grand Cititel Hanoi Hotel is located within Old Quarter area, convenience store (Circle K) is just at corner of the street & about 10-15 mins walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. Hotel staffs are all friendly & helpful especially the female receptionist who checked me in. Appreciate for the complimentary cocktails they offered to celebrate anniversary with my boyfriend. My room is situated at level 8 (considered high floor in this hotel), not very nice view but very clean, provided with every amenities I need & the bed is really comfortable to rest on. International buffet served for complimentary breakfast, including of salad, fruit, sweet yogurt, bun, ham, cheese, porridge with condiments, rice with dishes, egg station & pho noodle station. Only 3 star for their facilities due to there’s no swimming pool, gym & spa in the hotel. The only unpleasant part is housekeeping attendant ring my door early at 8am on the 4th day just to ask if I need laundry service.

This is a great hotel in an excellent location. We stayed here for 1 night in November. I booked 2 rooms in advance (tip - book ahead because they seem to book out quickly). When we arrived we were greated by the Hotel staff who were very friendly and spoke very good English (which was an added bonus for us). The staff told us that we had been upgraded, which was a really nice surprise. We got a big room with an ensuite, sitting room, separate powder room and balcony. The Hotel was walking distance to everything - in the morning we walked around Hoan Kiem Lake, during the day we walked around the Old Quarter and the French Quarter and did a lot of shopping. The breakfast provided at this Hotel is also fantastic.. there are lots of options - western, asian etc. and everything is really tasty. Highly recommended and would definately stay here again.

After a slew of bad hotels, my sister and I were so relieved to finally get to a beautiful hotel, perfectly situated in the old quarter of Hanoi. It's not the cheapest, but it's still a good value for your money. We got to the hotel a bit early before our check in, but the lobby held our luggage while we walked around the busy neighborhood. The twin room we had was clean, and had a great shower. We really appreciated the fitness room and pool on the roof. The views are incredible, both day and night. Breakfast that was included was a lovely buffet spread with good variety and located in their tenth floor restaurant. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. It was also very convenient to have them help us book a bus to Cat Ba island that picked us up from the hotel. The hotel is close to everything - cafes, restaurants, night market, Hoan Kiem lake, and St. Joseph's Cathedral, just to name a few. Would definitely stay here again next time we're in Hanoi! :)

Our Hanoi honeymoon was excellence and couldn't be better without the help of Meracus Hotel 2. As part of our last-minute honeymoon on 1 March, my wife and I was almost late in trying to secure a night before our flight. Meracus 2 helped us reserved a night and kept us in communication (with address/advisory) even before our departure. The amazing experience right when we entered the boutique hotel. The furnishing was modern and cosy. Ginger tea was served to warm us as Michael helped check us into the hotel. The staff was helpful and even brought our luggage up to our hotel without hesitation. We departed the next day to our 2D/1N Halong Bay Cruise and came back on the 3rd. All the staff seemed to remember us by names and kept checking if we enjoyed our trip. We reserved a separate a 3D/2N accommodation of Meracus 2 stay was also promptly recorded. Anna & Hermes were helpful to make our stay and trip memorable. My wife and I were surprised and touched when we entered our suite to see it beautifully decorated with balloons, flower petals, even a cake for our honeymoon.Everyday at Meracus 2 seems to be a surprise. On the last night, we even received 2 box of traditional wedding rice cake on our bed for sweet dreams. Other Notes: Meracus 2 is a small boutique hotel with no more than 15 rooms. While it does not have the grandeur of space, it prides itself in the attention and service, which exceed even most 5 star hotels in any other countries I've visited. The breakfast (Ala Cart - Buffet) serves one of the best Egg Benedict/ French toast and also Pho Beef than anywhere else) So order more and eat all you. can. Location wise is amazingly convenient and near most of the attraction. It's a short walk to the old quarters, and walk able to the Hoan Kiem lake (5-10 min). The address is easy to find (for taxi) and not as messy/crowded as the old quarters. Special thanks to Michael / Anna / Hermes & the porter who help us make the whole stay so amazing.

We stayed at Thang Long for recent Hanoi Heritage Marathon. The hotel is just minutes away from the event. The hotel is strategically located in the legendary Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem district) . The were hive of activities near the lake during the weekend. All within walking distance from the hotel. The staffs were very friendly & helpful. And, the breakfast was very good too.

Hotel located very near the Hoan Kiem lake and to center of old quarter, less than 1 min walking distance to Sapa Express (Bus to Sapa). Need some searching though because the hotel is nestled between other blocks and at first hard to locate. From the start when we book through Agoda the sales personnel has been extremely helpful and responsive to our million inquiries/requests. The moment we stepped in the hotel, they provided 5 star hospitality, starting from greetings, welcome fruits, handling of luggage, they even gave us a room tour, and the room was wonderful, clean and pillow was fluffy. They care to the details of our trip, recommending places to go, making sure to help where needed. They helped to keep our luggage for 1 day, and make sure to send us up the Grab taxi (communicating with the grab driver). From start to end, their attitude and demeanor are 120% pleasant and all smile. Absolutely love their customer services, would definitely come back to this hotel.

Wonderful experience at the Hai Bay hotel! The location is super convenient, right in the heart of Old Quarter. If you stay at this hotel, I would recommend you try the BlackBird Coffee which is right in the back alley (Chan Cam) of the hotel. The hotel is also close to the St. Joseph Cathedral and Ho Hoan Kiem, must-see spots. The staff are super polite and friendly and paid attention to our needs quickly. They provided water to our room multiple times and assisted us in reserving spa, dinner and taxi to the airport. A side note - make sure to have the hotel staff negotiate the fare with taxi driver before you take off. Fixed fare runs from 250,000 VND to 300,000 VND. Our taxi driver took off too quickly so the hotel staff did not get the chance to negotiate for us. The driver charged us by the meter, which came out to be over 400,000 VND! We negotiated ourselves with the driver and paid only 300,000 VND. Be very careful with the taxi drivers in Vietnam!!

We stayed here in the lead up to Tet and it was a very quiet hotel. Spacious rooms and extremely comfortable bed. A bit dated but tastefully decorated. It's in a quieter location if you want to get out of the busy ness of the Old Quarter yet a reasonable walking distance around the lake to any action. If you say the Hilton is located at the bottom of Hoan Kiem Lake the busy parts are at the area to the top and then towards the left. Primary suggestions - The in room facilities could be easily improved by moving the tea/coffee facilities to another location (current place is very cramped) and making the power points more accessible. The pool area is dated but the pool is a good size. It was too cold to swim when we were there unfortunately.

It was a gorgeous hotel located in this lovely old quarter, walking distance to the Hoan Kiem Lake. My friend and I stayed there 3 nights. Our room, which was a superior room, at level 1, was cleaned and cosy. We loved the room interior - a fusion of industrial and chic style. If we were to nitpick, that would be not having a shampoo holder at the bathroom shower and also there was renovation on the same level in the morning (though we were not affected as we were out most of the time). We want to thanks the staffs (special thanks to Ms Sasha and the team), they made us feel welcome, Ms Sasha and team were so helpful and patient with our questions on our first day there. we were amazed that the staffs remembered our names. Thank you and making our stay great!

We just finished our stay at the Meracus and were impressed by the high quality of service that was offered there. The staff are professional, friendly, speak excellent english and make your holiday a breeze! The hotel is decorated in neo-classical style and features comfortable beds, fancy showers and a delicious buffet breakfast. It is right in the centre of the Old Quarter and is in easy walking distance of Hoan Kiem lake, the water puppet shows and many good restaurants. This place is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in and the best on our trip to Asia so far. With hotels it's always the little things that count and the hand written card and little gift of traditional Green rice cakes left on our bed on our final night were impressive and delightful. We will most definitely return to Meracus and their wonderful staff, if you are considering booking, do it, you will not find a better place. Thanks for a great stay.

We booked a Family Suite. Room was spacious for us 3 travellers, it was ready when we arrived from an early morning flight. Location (Cathedral District, Old Quarter) is topnotch, walking distance to St. Joseph's Cathedral, Night Market, Hoan Kiem Lake with numerous shops around. It is in a rather quiet street, with relatively less traffic (it was easy to book a GrabCar). Staff are nice and courteous. Communication with staff via email prior to arrival was smooth. Good breakfast for the price, Vietnamese and Western fare. Airconditioning unit in Room 802 needs repair/replacement for it was noisy but we had a good sleep anyway. Overall, I would recommend it to friends and will stay here if I visit Hanoi again. Madame Hien Restaurant in front of the hotel is a must try. Thank you to the staff!

We stayed for 3 nights here and it was absolutely amazing. Pros : - located in old quarter area. A lot of good food, mini mart and souvenir shop nearby. Really close to Hoan Kiem Lake. - all the staffs are really helpful and friendly. They even give you a map that show the tourist attraction, good food nearby. - breakfast was superb - room was spacious Cons : - since its located in the bustling area of old quarter, it can be a little bit noisy if you’re staying at city view room. But they provided ear plugs in your room. - room was not too clean. I found a pile of dust in the corner of the room But totally would recommend this hotel. By far this was the best hotel that we stayed in vietnam.

We booked 2 nights at Splendid Holiday Hotel . Up arrival, we booked the short package 4 days 3 nights as Hanoi Foods tours , Ha Long bay 2 days 1 night on deluxe Swan cruise + airport transportation that all was excellent and great value. Our rooms was very new, modern, clean, great facilities and nice view, great raining shower and comfortable bed. The hotel location is great close to many good restaurants, coffee shops, beautiful Hoan Kiem lake and shopping ... how ever, Splendid Holiday hotel than many Boutique hotels in Asia that's about their staffs was awesome, super friendly, amazing and cute, i'm feeling my home when we been their. Thank you very much to Team of Splendid Holiday hotel and high recommending to every one looking the perfect Splendid hotel in Hanoi old quarter !

We were the first Guests whom stayed at Hanoi Bella Rosa Hotel which is really new brand opening but all in all are more than above expectation . The room was large and spacy with luxuries facilities and really comfort, the breakfast served on the top of the hotel where you can overlook down to the Hoan Kiem Lake and city view with unlimitted of the ordered. The staff were really welcoming , helpful to show us any thing of the Hotel and also really professional , they also arranged of the tours around of Hanoi . The Hotel is just few second by foot walk walking to all famous place in Hanoi : Hoan Kiem lake , water puppet theather , night markets , restaurants and shopping center. We were so happy to stay at Hanoi Bella Rosa and we will stay at this Hotel again if we come back to Hanoi. Highly recommend any one to stay at this Hotel without any hesitate. All the reviews for this hotel are genuine and I'm could vouch for that. Before arrival, Ms Apple will normally sent message to your inbox to enquire the arrangements on the stay. So please don't be afraid to ask for the airport transfer service as the hotel has this service. The price I'm paid for the service was well worth as the guy was actually waited for me at the airport arrival hall for almost one hour and yet they waited patiently. Double thumb up for that. I was delayed due to baggages issues. The location of the hotel could not be any better. It's located in between the museum and hoan kiem lake. So if you are staying at hanoi for few days, you can always pay a visit of these places by walking on foot. Other than that, local taxi drivers or grab drivers are quite familiar with the hotel's street. So if you were lost or too tired to walk back to hotel, just tell or show the driver the street name. So we had no problem at all either with taxi or grab car. Breakfast at the hotel is definitely the. second highlight of our stay. You can choose from the menu ranging from pho bo or beef noodle, pasta, omelette, toost or many others great food. They will cook on the spot at the kitchen behind the eating hall. Behold, if I'm told you that all the food is definitely tasty and you could definitely forgetting to hunt other food stall at Hanoi based on TripAdvisor. The pho is yummy and tasty. The pasta is well cooked seasoned with herb, cheese etc. It's the shame that it's only available for breakfast only. If only if kitchen open all day long, I'm think it will full house whole day. Well, first highlight will definitely goes to Ms Apple and Ms Viu whom made this hotel felt warm as if as home. They are quite attention to detail, truly care and attend all of your needs during stay. Some others hotel that I'm stayed before was great too but this is exceptional very great or probably the best 3 star hotel that i ever stay. You will feel the warmth and friendli
