"The hostel has a good location in Hoan Kiem district not far from the lake, in a nice cosy street. The beds are good. A large space between the mattress and the wall allows to put some personal belongins. There are big lockers under the beds. The negative point is the bathroom. Doesn't correspond to the pictures. The sink is not in the bathroom. And there is a heavy plastic curtain just behind the door which is unoleasant to touch and complicates the access to the bathroom. The guy on the reception proposes only tours but they also have bus tickets and even sim cards. I wouldn't say that it is luxury but it is allright"

"We stayed at Hanoi Babylon Garden Hotel for 3 nights. All staff is really kind and helpful, you can get a lot of good advice from them, where to go, what to do. Location is great, very close to Hoan Kiem Lake. While we stayed there, the road around the lake was closed and it was really crowded with local people - really interesting. The hotel is also very close to the Water Puppet Theatre (by the lake) and Night market. There rooms were very quiet and the beds were really comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Second stay this time...superior double room 601. Very nice view over the river. Especially the ceiling to floor sized windows are fantastic. Description mentioned desk but none in the room except a plate sized coffee table which I dont count as a desk. No smoking mentioned but and ashtray provided , make your mind up. Staff perfectly friendly and helpful. Pieces of fruit in the bedside drawer and liquid splash on wall and bed , hopefully from the fruit. But again urine and excrement spots and a long hair on and under the toilet seat ,same as on my first stay in a different room so there is a pattern of hygiene/cleaning issues . It's not their fault to accommodate filthy guest but it's their job to provide a spotless environment for the next guest with normal hygiene and cleaning standards. It happened to rain and water came tru the window frame. TV, aircon ,location all fine and with a lot of potential if they could get their thing together on maintenance. Wifi weak. location is great -not touristy and with a lots of real life hanoi to discover after you are done with sightseeing. The Staff is the biggest asset here, but can only operate within the limited resources provided by the management."

"We stayed at Thang Long for recent Hanoi Heritage Marathon. The hotel is just minutes away from the event. The hotel is strategically located in the legendary Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem district) . The were hive of activities near the lake during the weekend. All within walking distance from the hotel. The staffs were very friendly & helpful. And, the breakfast was very good too. "

Only negative points is that my room was at the back without a window so I had only artificial light and that the shower was a bit small for me. Othed than that everything was great."
