Beautiful but old amenities”
I'm mixed on to recommend - It's really a beautiful hotel inside... you can see/feel the history. Room was adequate - clean. HOWEVER, biggest negative is no air conditioning in the rooms snd I was there when it was in the high 80's (F) outside... so it wasn't the most comfortable at night. The fan on the ceiling didn't do the job. EXCELLENT location for tourists. Most of the staff were friendly. People had to wait 10-15 minutes for elevator (its OLD) to come to ground level floor. I was 3 floors up and it was quicker to walk up the beautiful marble/wood stairs to room... definitely good exercise (lol). Remember, Guadalajara is an elevation of 5,000feet... and I felt it. Hotel Restaurant was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. 100 pesos ($5.26) for all you can eat buffet. I don't regret staying here for the 2 nights but there are other old hotels with better amenities for next time.

French Hotel downtown GDL”
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. I found it quite aesthetically appealing. The old fashioned lift is very slow but I think this was more than offset by its quaint charm, so keeping it is probably a wise choice--it's not like the building is that tall anyway. One thing I would caution potential guests about: noise is omnipresent in downtown GDL but this hotel provides its own. A band that was advertised as playing in the lobby from 9 to 10.30 P.M. kept going until midnight. Keep this in mind if you need to wake up early. My room was missing one of the shutters from the window but was otherwise in good shape, albeit rather plain compared to the common areas.

Magical the first time, disappointing the 2nd time”
We stayed here prior to getting married and thought that it was magical. We booked it again when we returned after gettting married as we felt sentimental about the hotel. However, the 2nd time around was not very nice. The staff were not very friendly. Our accommodations were not good. No hot water, the light was not working well, the room was cold, etc. I am not sure if we will return again.

Staff and web page are unhelpful”
The web page does not indicate that the hotel has rather small beds and no air conditioning. The rooms were excessively hot. Additionally the staff is rather unfriendly, they could not help at all with simple things like parking the car. They even suggested that I should leave the car in front of the hotel because they did not want to drive it to the hotel parking lot.

Hotel is old, smells, no air conditioner. Facilities are outdated, mattresses are old and uncomfortable. We had two roos and both flooded from the rain! The place is disgusting, bathrooms are smelly, probably from the sewer. Avoid this place at any cost! Feel sorry for the employees, they find themselves having to make up excuses for everything that does not work here. WiFi is never working.

Near the shopping center ”
We came here to buy a wedding dress and it’s next to all the wedding dress stores. It’s amazing. The hotel is an old style that was one of the first built hotels in Guadalajara. They remodeled it so the rooms don’t look old. We stayed in the premium suit that had access to a small rooftop and jacuzzi with a amazing view of the church. It’s super affordable and I’m happy about the hotel. They even have an old style elevator which was a nice touch.

Amazing history”
Amazing history but keep in mind you are staying in a 100 year old building. It is the best location and great price. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bottled water fill station on every floor. Negatives, our mattress in rm 207 was old and saggy. Bathroom floor and shower tiles were cracked. Rooms are small. Elevator rarely worked, so if you stay here be prepared to use the stairs.

La estructura del hotel es bonita, solo eso. Mala limpieza en especial ahorita en tiempos de COVID 19 ni hay medidas de sanitizacion. Cuartos pequeños aunque lo solicites grande y con mala higiene, sábanas toallas sucias y desgastadas. Localización buena sin embargo los días que estuve en la ciudad todo estaba cerrado por emergencia de COVID nada abierto salvo un restaurant a una calle resto cerrado y hasta te regañaban que salías por tu comida.

Koloniales Hotel aus 1610”
Sehr schönes koloniales Hotel aus 1610. Lediglich unsere Zimmer war etwas hellhörig. Abends findet Livemusik mit Mariachi statt. Top Lage direkt im Zentrum. Sauber und immer warmes Wasser mit gutem Druck. Ich würde es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
