“Near Sapporo JR Station, Clean, Spacious, Value for Money”
I stayed for 7 nights, with two family members in end December 2024. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel environment was also quiet and not crowded. Overall I had a good experience and the rate I paid for my stay is considered value for money. I took Airport rapid train from New Chitose Airport JR station to Sapporo JR station. Train ride 37 minutes, ¥1,990 per pax with reserved seat come with luggage storage space. Then I walked to the hotel from the train station North ext, it was only 3-4 minutes. There is a ramp at the exit for luggage. Before I arrived at the hotel, I messaged the hotel via Agoda messaging app to enquire about how to walk from the train station to the hotel. The staff who replied to my messages were patient and helpful. The room was big - Standard Triple room 25 metre square. There are 2-3 convenient stores nearby. I booked the standard triple room - 25 metre square. It is a room with two single bed plus 1 sofa bed. For Japan standard this is consider big. I needed to bring 3 large 28 inch luggage so I brought 2 luggage that are front / top opening type and 1 which is the normal type that opens from both sides. As you can see from the photos, I can put two large luggage in between two beds and put the both side opening luggage underneath the table. There is a round table which is quite huge and 3 chairs. There was space to allow a gap between the sofa bed and the bed in the middle. The wardrobe space is spacious. Room was clean, bath room comes with bathtub and was clean also. Shower was strong. The bath room was equipped with bottles of shampoo, shower gel and hair conditioner as well as hand wash. The quality was quite good. Do note there is only 2 power points in the room for use, I brought power extension so it was okay for me. The service staff cleaning the room were all very friendly and helpful. They will also provide new disposable tooth brush with tooth paste upon request. Very safe to walk around till late. I went to the nearby Lawsons mart and Seico family mart around 12midnight. My family member walked back to the hotel from Odori park around 1.00am, it was safe, streets are bright and there were still people walking around, including tourists walking toward the hotel with luggage to check in. The hotel is only 1 minute walk to the underground entrance to Sapporo JR/subway station. If you walk on street level to the north entrance / exit it is about 2-3 minutes without snow and 4-5 minutes walking in snow with luggage (which I had tried). Average walking speed. It is also just 2-3 minutes walk to the Hokkaido University as it is just next to the hotel. There are many eating places nearby, mainly restaurants, both the casual dining type and traditional izayaki type. I had my dinners at 5 nearby restaurants for yakitoro, yakiniku, curry rice, sukiyaki and sashimi. All are nice and prices are reasonable. Servive staff good. I also went to the Japanese restaurant at the lobby of the hotel. Nice seating environment and polite staff. They have English menu and food are quite nice. This jap restaurant in the hotel also shared its space with a Spanish restaurant. Breakfast at level 2 was very nice too, with a good spread. ¥2,090 per person, 6.30am to 10.00am. Reception desk staff were all professional though did not come across as warm nor smiley. Check in and checkout were fast. There is a gift shop at level 1 lobby that sells mainly local snacks wrapped in gift box designs, it sells bottled drinks too and some mini souvenirs. Laundry room at level 5, there are 3 washers and 3 dryers. ¥400 for 30 mins of washing for 5kg load, with detergent included. ¥200 for 30 mins drying which most people will go for 90 mins as I had also tried for 60 minutes and clothes were not fully dry. There is self service free flow supply of DHC facial cleanser, toner and moisturiser cream at the lobby for hotel guests. I paid SGD 1,622.36 or ¥174,556 for 7 nights.
