    “We recommend Hotel Christian IV”

Four of us stayed 4 nights in this ideally located hotel. Our request sent via email to have 3 quiet rooms located near one another was accommodated. The staff had excellent English and were not only friendly but also very helpful. The rooms were clean. We appreciated the ‘green’ label of environmentally conscious hotel. Tea and coffee facilities 24/7 were greatly appreciated. A bonus with a free glass of wine (very nice choices) during the happy hour (5 to 7 pm) was a surprise welcome on a couple of nights we were back for it. Overall, the hotel was excellent value for money. We would recommend it and would gladly stay there again.

    “Amazing hotel and staff”

The staff at this hotel were amazing. The airline lost our luggage and they did everything in their power to make our stay a great one. From the communication before our arrival until we left the hotel, all the staff at the reception did an outstanding job. The hotel itself has all the commodities they describe when booking. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was great. We had coffee or tea available at all hours as well. Definitely, when I return to Denmark, this is my hotel.

    “Very good”

Four of us stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The staff had excellent English, were friendly and very helpful (eg refilling our water bottles with fresh water, ringing tour operators on our behalf,). I had emailed before travelling to have our 3 quiet rooms beside one another and this was done. We also liked the ‘green’ label with care for the environment. Tea/coffee facilities 24/7 were excellent. A surprise bonus was the happy hour between 5 and 7 pm with a free glass of red or white wine.. We enjoyed good wine a couple of evenings when back on time before heading out to eat. Cafes and restaurants are plentiful around the hotel. There are lots to see nearby. The close proximity to Rosenborg Have (gardens) makes the hotel an ideal location for a leisure stroll or a run first thing in the morning. We recommend Hotel Christian IV.

    “4 Night stay”

We chose the Christian IV hotel for the location mainly, and the check-in was very easy . We had booked the room online with a request for a room on an upper floor and on the quiet side. Upon entering our room on the 4th floor ( not the top floor) we noticed the musty foul smell of the carpeting . We asked the reception clerk to move us to another room without carpeting and the clerk happily accomodated. Although the location is great for this hotel there are several things to point out about the property. First of all it is old which I suppose is to be expected in a historic city such as Copenhagen. The elevator is tiny , the hallway floors creak but the most disappointing is the size of the room and that there is no A/C. The room we were given as a quiet room was not very quiet as the room faced a large courtyard in the rear with buildings all around which beautifully amplified the trash barrels being rolled out every morning staring at around 6am. What a lovely sound several barrels being rolled out in unison make; especially when you are on vacation. At night , as a bonus , you also had what seemed like patrons of the street level restaurant hanging out on the same courtyard having amplified laughter and conversation easily disturbing the piece and quiet into the night. We know that we were not staying at a luxery hotel but if it wasn't for the conveniant location , we would not recommend this hotel as a good choice.
