I stayed here for 2 nights to attend my re-certification training in Manila. I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. Conveniently located near Robinson's Place Manila so finding a bite to eat is really easy to suit any budget. The hotel staff are all very professional, polite and helpful. Easy check-in/check-out with standard floating deposit (in case you consume items in the mini bar/fridge) which you can refund when you leave. The room I got is quite spacious and clean. Bed linens are comfy and smelled fresh. The T&B is clean and well maintained with amenities. Complimentary plated breakfast is good enough with choice of American or Filipino meal etc. I really enjoyed my stay here and will book again if I have to stay in Manila. Good value for money.

1. Decent location for Ermita, esp to US embassy, if you need that, and the Robinson mall. Some night clubs, casinos, etc., are there, if you like that. But, far from airport in terms of travel time, at certain times of the day. 2. Very clean and modernized rooms. But, VERY small too. (Most hotels in this area may look attractive in parts but have ancient rooms.) 3. Somewhat booked all the time. 4. Good price for Manila. 5. Security good. 6. Staff are very welcoming and professional. 7. Food of various kinds and qualities is close by. I will probably stay here or other Red Planets in Manila. It's just better value for the price.

My fiancee and I have stayed at several hotels in Manila. The Best Western Hotel La Corona was by far the best hotel we've stayed at for the cheapest price. Trust me, some of the hotels in Manila are very expensive and very dirty! In addition, finding a hotel with good air-conditioning is not something you can take for granted, as we've stayed at hotel's in Manila with Aircon's that barely work. The Best Western Hotel La Corona is only a 5 minute walk to the U.S. embassy, which is the primary reason we stayed there and the price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in Manila and in the surrounding area. The hotel was extremely clean, the aircon was super cold, the showers were awesome, the bed was huge and comfortable, the Wifi was great, and the buffet breakfast was awesome! We also enjoyed the food especially the Pancit Bihon! The desserts including the brownie w/ice cream, the banana split, and the sundaes were excellent too! In addition, it's only 3 minutes walk from St Lukes extension clinic and 7 minutes walk from Robinson's Mall. We have to go back to the embassy in a few weeks and we're definitely staying at The Best Western Hotel La Corona again!

I've stayed in a hotel in Manila five times, and this one is the best. Basically, for the price, it simply cannot be much better. The only weakness about this hotel is that it is not in the best area of Manila. But, I would gladly reiterate that this hotel happily surprised me! I believe it is much better than even the photos reveal. To be specific, the rooms are outstanding; beautiful design, large beds, super clean linens, and nice wood furniture, refrigerators in standard rooms, nice bathrooms, and nice plasma wall set TV. Remotes controls work perfectly, and the housekeeping is very responsive. Extra towels are no charge and rooms come with nuts and drinks in the fridge, for example, beer and Gatorade; water is complimentary if you request bottles. Staff is at the front desk and completely attentive 24 hours, including doorman to get you a taxi or open doors for you. The pool is beautiful, and nice temp. Beautiful little waterfall. But the biggest surprise is the food!! This hotel has one of the best restaurants in Manila, in my opinion. The executive chef is from Switzerland, his name Chris. The restaurant serves same quality breakfast, as I had Eggs Benedict that was excellent, though it is not free; and same quality lunch, with smaller menu selection. But, if you like rich, delicious Italian food, which is not at the highest prices in the city, then stay at this hotel. I plan to almost always stay at this hotel, when in Manila, unless its all booked. Why? Because the prices are so reasonable, the staff is young, but very hardworking, and unlike most hotels in Manila, it has a pool. Last but not always least, the food is actually some of the best you might ever have.

I stayed at Casa Bocobo when I went to Manila for medical examination at St. Luke's Extension Clinic. With the help of the map I studied before the trip, I was able to give directions to the taxi driver (and avoided appearing ignorant about Manila which most taxi drivers would take advantage of) and easily got there. Check-in was hassle-free. The hotel has no elevator but male staff are on hand to assist...I didn't need much assistance anyway as I was carrying just one backpack. I was given a room at the farthest end of the second floor where I can look out my window right down to TM Kalaw. That was a fun thing to do every morning when I wake up. I would pull up the blinds and watch all the vehicles carrying students and people going to work. At night, there was much less traffic so noise was not a problem for me. About the room, it was very clean and spacious with a good-sized flat screen tv. The bed was very comfortable with clean a sheet and a comforter. Aircon didn't make a lot of noise. The cabinet was spacious with about five hangers. There was also a table and a couple chairs aside from the bedside table. It was so much more than I expected. I had to extend my stay for a few more days and ended up staying for a total of 8 days and in that span of time was able to try out 4 different rooms. I was given a different room everytime I extended my stay since the room I was in always had someone else checking in the next day. It was a bit of a hassle but not the hotel's fault since my stay was indefinite. I tried the double deluxe room with the queen bed, the room with the twin beds, the petite room, and the loft (my favorite! but it's usually for about P4,500 and was given to me only because they had nothing else available and maybe because i'm a loyal customer). All the rooms I tried are very much worth the money. I have tried Manila Pavilion and Gran Prix Manila but they can't beat Casa Bocobo. I am definitely staying there again!

We were glad we didn't read the reviews before booking the hotel. The bad reviews did not represent the experience we had. Staff was attentive. Bathroom, bedroom, and beds were very clean. Towels were clean. Shower worked well with lots of warm water. Wonderful stay. Location was perfect: only a couple blocks from the US Embassy. Next to several casinos. Near two shopping malls and Manila Bay. Lots of things to do and places to eat. Definitely plan to stay there again in the future.

We decided to stay at this hotel because of its excellent reviews and its affordable rates. Although the hotel is small just 6 floors, the rooms we stayed in are very spacious. Big king bed, big bathroom, big windows! Although they dont have swimming pool, they have big bath tub. My son didnt want to leave the tub and my mom also enjoyed her beauty dip. The location is the best, just across roxas blvd is the museong pambata. walk towards the quirino grand stand and you'll be in manila ocean park. Across the kalaw st is the Luneta Park starting at Rizal monument. Then few minutes walk going to the national museums. Fastfood and restaurants are near the hotel and you wont have problem looking for a place to eat. The staff are friendly, acccommodating, and curteous. They let us leave our baggages since we arrived early and they allowed us to check out late. They also gave us two adjacent rooms as requested. As mentioned, the rates are very affordable. We booked 2 rooms here at Luneta Hotel at a price of 1 room in other hotels. Overall, the experience is really nice and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again.

I booked for a 6 day stay initially. I was so happy with the hotel I ended up staying an extra week. The room had everything I needed. Fridge, stove/oven, very comfortable bed, on 14th floor so no street noise, A big window that I could open and smell the sea and what a great view down past Makati, to MOA and back towards the city of Manila. My aircon was cold and quiet the shower was HOT water with good flow. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and bed linen done and floor was swept and rubbish removed. The staff here are so good, I tipped them all which is rare for me! Overall the hotel is older and does need some freshening up, but the foyer is immaculate and the elevators are fast and modern. The hotel has a cafe and bar/restaurant,,,, I didn't use as I had my own cooking, bur from outside it was very new, clean and glitzy and they had plenty of customers so that is always a good guide. I was so happy that after I went and did my business in Laguna I cam back for another week. I won't be staying in any other hotel now, this is my home away from home now. I paid only $41AU a night, no deposit asked for and it was terrific value. Apart from looks I would rate this a 3 to 4 star place, it just lacks the La De Da for 5 stars. Places close by are Robinsons Mall 5mins (walk), Moa 10 mins by taxi about 100php, Ocean Park 10 mins, casino 5mins, 100's of restaurants around, and Manila Bay Walk is across Roxas Boulevard via a pedestrian bridge. L.A bar in one block away if you want to watch the footy or have a dance, just dodge the bar girls and you will be right.. they are friendly and won't annoy you if they understand you just there for a drink. Touts and beggars are everywhere in Malate, you get used to saying "no peso" it is a few pickpockets that you need to watch for, and they are children about 11yo...okay!!! Anyways hope this review helps you and enjoy your stay in Manila. C ya!

For anyone having there doubts about where’s a good hotel you need to look no further I stayed here 4 times n will continue coming to this hotel .For one thing they have a elevator to where others you have to walk up a flight of stairs n he rooms are nice n clean you get free breakfast n let me tell you it’s out of this world great .The staff very friendly n your 2 blocks away from the SM Mall to .of course there’s free WiFi n they have a computer in the lobby you can use to .belive me when I tell you this have stayed in a lot of hotels n there have been some I called The Hotel From Hell cause looking at the place online was nice but getting there n finally seeing the room omg what a dump So don’t even think about The Manila Hotel that place is filthy So I recommended if you want a hotel n friendly staff Silver Springs is the best it’s a 10 plus hotel n I’ll book there anytime I go to Manila

Location was very ideal for people wanting to go see the sights and sounds or Manila. Also walking distance to US embassy, St. Luke’s extension Clinic, Robinson’s Place, Manila Bay, etc. Clean rooms, very spacious (value for money right there), welcoming and helpful staff. Only downside was, from the room I stayed in, you can hear the party party outside from dusk til dawn. But I still slept through it thank goodness. But all in all, very nice experience. Didn’t wanna leave:)

We have stayed in a standard room during October. Room was nice, clean and well maintained. TV is old but has dissent channel selection. So for Standard room is actually was nice. Our room was located near the elevator, but we could not hear it. On the downside, for me, I can mention only air-conditioning which was really freezing even at low fan and 24deg. WiFi is relatively fast to what I have seen in Philippines. In the lobby with good signal strength I was able download at 0.17Mbps. Breakfast is Filipino style with western touch like eggs, bacon, cereals, milk, juices. Location is probably good, why probably? because at night we were suggested not to go out. But there are embassies near by and other good hotels. I think in general in Manila, if you are foreigner, it is better to use taxi from point to point and not walk the streets. Taxi drivers always locked the doors and sometimes asked not to open windows... If you can, leave Manila for the end for your trip and don't spend much time there. Philippines have much more to offer outside metro Manila. So overall price was good, service ok and location not so bad

Very clean and modern hotel. I stayed at this hotel because it had a 24 hour reception which I required as my flight into Manila arrived at 2 am. I could not find anything to fault at this hotel considering the price. The location is a short walk to Manila Bay, not that I saw much to view there. Also very close to the massive Robinson’s Place mall if you’re into shopping. The staff allowed me to check out at 12pm, and also stored my baggage for an additional hour as I had some time to kill before continuing my travels.

Second stay at this this hotel. This time I booked a room that supposedly isn’t windowless but what I still got was a windowless room on the fourth floor. The internet at that time was acting up but when it was reported to their staff, they immediately fixed it. Location is within walking distance to Manila Embassy and to Robinsons Manila. There are a lot of 24-hour convenience stores and fast food stores located nearby which is great. There is also an internet shop next door which is convenient as I needed some documents printed. The staff were accommodating. Overall, it’s a nice and cheap place to stay in if you have your embassy interview or your medical in St. Luke’s.

I have stayed at the Soriente hotel many times over many years. It is always pleasant and the friendly staff are a delight. The building itself is showing the effects of time and it can be difficult to locate even for taxi drivers who consider it 'An old hotel',only used by those in the know. Don't expect fantastic views from the rooms, many have windows looking directly on to blank walls! The lighting is a little dim in some of the rooms but that is a minor thing. My main criticism is that there is no longer a restaurant and the surrounding area is not the best. I have however always had a good and safe stay at the hotel and recommend it, especially for those who require a short stay whilst passing through Manila or attending short conferences, etc.

The main reason my wife and I stayed at this hotel was because it it very close to the US Embassy. Its about an 8 minute walk to the Embassy and to St. Luke's Extension Clinic. The rooms in this hotel are small, and you can easily hear people walking around the hallways, but the cleanliness makes up for these shortcomings. Most hotels at this price are not clean but Hotel Juliano is clean and the shower is hot. If you want a small clean hotel for a cheap price then this is a great choice. If you want to sleep in luxury while spending your time in Manila then this is not your best option.

i had stayed at another hotel the night before for about the same price and this was far far better. it had the workings of a fancy hotel, but the price was quite cheap. there is a casino attatched to the hotel and that is probably the reason for the reasonable price, to attract the gamblers. rooms were nice, clean and comfortable, all in all i was very pleased. would happily go back on my next stay in manila

I was satisfied with the services that Swagman offered me during my stay there.I availed of the free airport transfer and I had my free manicure. In my room, I felt comfortable with the temperature. When I was inside the hotel room, I felt relaxed. Hotel personnel seemed to be very accommodating. I observed a fast food service. The foods at its restaurant can cater to the taste of both Filipinos and foreigners. The hotel rate was affordable. You could hardly see other hotels offering several amenities out of a limited budget. I highly recommend this hotel for your future relaxation.

I had the loveliest time at Miramar Hotel! Stayed for two nights, just for an event in the adjacent Hotel. Miramar is quite beautiful, a true art deco place. Carpeted stairs, ornate decor, and an airy open interior. I was given a corner room on the 4th floor. (I booked the most basic one, so if that's it then wow, and if I was upgraded, then awesome!) I had SO MUCH SPACE and I loved it. The room was worth so much. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom spotlessly clean. Seriously, spotlessly clean. There was no hint of mold. It's true that there's a bit of karaoke noise from downstairs but it wasn't too bad, and during my stay the singing usually stopped around half past midnight anyway. People who sleep late, like myself, would have no issues. I also tried their breakfast, which I didn't purchase with the room. Generous servings, and very fast service! I had ordered in advance, expecting the normal hotel wait for room service, but lo and behold barely ten minutes later, here was my food. No free wifi in the room, but you can grab a card worth PHP 100 for three hours from the front desk. Expensive, but a much better bargain than Microtel's PHP 100 for one hour! And the net is fast so it's worth it. Or you could go to the lobby where it's free. Best part of the hotel: the staff. Particularly manong guard at the front. If hotel management is reading this please do say thank you to manong guard for making my stay a very pleasant one! All in all, I'll be staying at this hotel again when the need to be in Manila arises. (Lastly, Emerald Garden is a two minute walk away in the direction of Starbucks! Go there for the best siopao in the Philippines! Ah, and yes, there's a Chowking, a Starbucks open until 1am, and a 24-hour 7-11 right beside the hotel.)

Moved to this hotel from another in the same neighborhood because I needed to cut my expenses. BP was less than half the price of the first hotel for essentially the same level of accommodations. The "single deluxe" is not what Americans would consider "deluxe." Although the room was spacious, the furnishings were minimal in the extreme--a "single" bed (not a twin) about the size of a cot, a small night stand, one small chair were the only furnishings. The bed was comfortable, and the staff carefully made it up with fancily-folded towel and bedspread. There was a small LCD tv attached to the wall with about 60 cable channels. (Note that none of the hotels I have stayed in in Manila had cable service that provided anything approaching a decent picture. This includes a couple of 4-star hotels.) The room had large windows with nice views of the city. There was a sink in the room, in addition to the one in the bathroom. The bathroom was small but adequate. Everything (except TV cable) worked well. After my initial stay of 3 days, I extended for an additional 3 days instead of moving to a fancier place that I had planned on. I was very happy with these accommodations for the price, and enjoyed several long conversations with the very friendly staff.

We booked a family room, and because we were 6, m hotel add another room for free for 2 nights.. Thanks so much we enjoyed the comfortable and soft bed.. US embassy is just so near for 2 minutes walk, ermita shrine, jolibee and mang inasal are just steps away. We spent the whole afternoon at manila ocean park, and passed at jose rizals monument..all are in walking distance..

I would recommend this hotel because of it's location from the Manila airport. It has an upper floor w/a pool which is small but a very nice one. And I also liked the inside area w/benches and plants, a place to go relax and be inside with a very nice atmosphere. And away from the sunshine for a bit. The price was good I think for what you get. I paid $42.USD per night for 2 nights. I think it was a good price for the comfort! And the smiles I got when I checked in. Garden Plaza, I will return in 2008!! Thanks
