I am an American who lives a pretty good life in the Philippines, used to nice hotels and great food. I read many reviews about the Bayview Park Hotel, many of which were negative left by foreigners. I am going to attempt to set the record straight from a foreigners perspective. 1. If you are thinking that the Bayview is a 5 star hotel, expecting a 5 star exper...I am an American who lives a pretty good life in the Philippines, used to nice hotels and great food. If you are thinking that the Bayview is a 5 star hotel, expecting a 5 star experience, then you are going to be severely disappointed. 2. If you are expecting a very nice hotel for $50 a night with everything you need, then you will be very happy. Lies and Rumors: 1. #706 on the Superior Room Rate without Breakfast. 2. The Staff are wonderful. The people who said that they were rude must not have grumpy because they were extremely nice to us and everyone else. 3. The Hotel does NOT smell, it smell just fine. 4. The rooms are NOT small, they are very large. 5. The bed was a little hard but not too hard. Nice bed. 6. Additional comforters and pillow are available on request for free. 7. The rooms are older but newly updated. They have a fridge, a nice bed, newly painted walls, a really nice bathroom and everything you can want. 8. The AIRCON / Air works GREAT. We had to turn it down because it was so powerful. 9. The location is perfect. We were going to the embassy which is literally steps away from the hotel, but it is also central to everything. 10. Starbucks is in the same building. 11. Chowking, 7/11 and Yellow Cab are about 75 steps away 12. WIFI is available in more expensive rooms but ours was turned on for free. Typically 350 per day. 13. Breakfast was not included in our room because we got the $60 after taxes rate but typically 450 per person in the morning. It seems like a bit steep for the selection so I would NOT get the breakfast package.

I was a solo traveler and my room has 2 breakfast, I was offered to take the 2 or take the other meal as lunch which was favorable for me. More than 10 years I'm staying in my favorite hotel in Manila because I get the best value for my money. I must to try sometimes other hotels because Best Western La Corona is sometimes fully booked and then I will be happy if I can book the next time BW again. All the rooms are individually styled, clean, and in very good condition. The Frontdesk can help you also to organize some city tours or can help with information about sightseeing or shopping malls. The hotel is in the heart of Ermita in Metro Manila and you can do many things from there with a short walking distance. If you like to book a car or van from the airport it’s also a fair price and it’s working good. Let them know if you need pick up from the airport. Best Western La Corona is not a 5* hotel but you get really the best value for your money in Ermita. I hope you will try it soon

I've stayed in a hotel in Manila five times, and this one is the best. Basically, for the price, it simply cannot be much better. The only weakness about this hotel is that it is not in the best area of Manila. But, I would gladly reiterate that this hotel happily surprised me! To be specific, the rooms are outstanding; beautiful design, large beds, super clean linens, and nice wood furniture, refrigerators in standard rooms, nice bathrooms, and nice plasma wall set TV. Remotes controls work perfectly, and the housekeeping is very responsive. Extra towels are no charge and rooms come with nuts and drinks in the fridge, for example, beer and Gatorade; water is complimentary if you request bottles. Staff is at the front desk and completely attentive 24 hours, including doorman to get you a taxi or open doors for you. The pool is beautiful, and nice temp. Beautiful little waterfall. But the biggest surprise is the food!! This hotel has one of the best restaurants in Manila, in my opinion. The executive chef is from Switzerland, his name Chris. The restaurant serves same quality breakfast, as I had Eggs Benedict that was excellent, though it is not free; and same quality lunch, with smaller menu selection. But, if you like rich, delicious Italian food, which is not at the highest prices in the city, then stay at this hotel. I plan to almost always stay at this hotel, when in Manila, unless its all booked. Why? Because the prices are so reasonable, the staff is young, but very hardworking, and unlike most hotels in Manila, it has a pool. Last but not always least, the food is actually some of the best you might ever have.

My wife and her sister stayed in a petite room and found it to be quite adequate. It provided safe haven during a nasty typhoon, and kept them safe and dry. When I arrived a week later, I found a petite a a bit on the small side for me and made arrangements to move to a Superior room with a queen size bed, sleeper couch, refrigerator, in room safe, dvd, the works. It was very, very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Bocobo. Since our business was with the US Embassy, it was very, very convenient. I would recommend this hotel to all who are working on their US Visa. I just can't say enough good things about this hotel and our stay. Just wish you could get coffee prior to 6 am as I am an early riser. Also, had some issues with the wireless due to the previous typhoon.

They give free breakfast everyday for 11 days I stayed at Gran Prix and the coffee shop on the 7th flr. is pretty good the food. But I liked the neighborhood close to Robinson's Shopping Mall, all kind of restaurant and if you like Nightlife. Next time I'm back to P.I. I'm sure I will book on Gran Prix Hotel again

The location is the best, just across roxas blvd is the museong pambata. walk towards the quirino grand stand and you'll be in manila ocean park. Across the kalaw st is the Luneta Park starting at Rizal monument. Then few minutes walk going to the national museums. Fastfood and restaurants are near the hotel and you wont have problem looking for a place to eat. The staff are friendly, acccommodating, and curteous. They let us leave our baggages since we arrived early and they allowed us to check out late. They also gave us two adjacent rooms as requested. As mentioned, the rates are very affordable. We booked 2 rooms here at Luneta Hotel at a price of 1 room in other hotels. Overall, the experience is really nice and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again.

I booked for a 6 day stay initially. I was so happy with the hotel I ended up staying an extra week. The room had everything I needed. Fridge, stove/oven, very comfortable bed, on 14th floor so no street noise, A big window that I could open and smell the sea and what a great view down past Makati, to MOA and back towards the city of Manila. The staff here are so good, I tipped them all which is rare for me! Overall the hotel is older and does need some freshening up, but the foyer is immaculate and the elevators are fast and modern. The hotel has a cafe and bar/restaurant,,,, I didn't use as I had my own cooking, bur from outside it was very new, clean and glitzy and they had plenty of customers so that is always a good guide. I was so happy that after I went and did my business in Laguna I cam back for another week. I won't be staying in any other hotel now, this is my home away from home now. I paid only $41AU a night, no deposit asked for and it was terrific value. Apart from looks I would rate this a 3 to 4 star place, it just lacks the La De Da for 5 stars. Places close by are Robinsons Mall 5mins (walk), Moa 10 mins by taxi about 100php, Ocean Park 10 mins, casino 5mins, 100's of restaurants around, and Manila Bay Walk is across Roxas Boulevard via a pedestrian bridge. L.A bar in one block away if you want to watch the footy or have a dance, just dodge the bar girls and you will be right.. they are friendly and won't annoy you if they understand you just there for a drink. Touts and beggars are everywhere in Malate, you get used to saying "no peso" it is a few pickpockets that you need to watch for, and they are children about 11yo...okay!!! Anyways hope this review helps you and enjoy your stay in Manila. C ya!

I totally got what I've paid for from this hotel. It was 1min walk away from St. Luke's Medical Center, near to mini mart and some other groceries stores, banks and restaurants. The staff were very courteous and hospitable in attending to our requests and inquiries. The hotel was old but it was still very well maintained. Yellow and green colors are annoying and look cheap, but it's part of branding so not much to be said. Overall pleasant stay in the hotel, but no breakfast option. Hotel beds are comfortable, tv works. Not much storage space for clothing in the room, but in-room safe is definitely a plus. Separate toilet with sink and shower (but be prepared, that hotel gives you only one soap bar to share in both). Another unpleasant surprise is that hotel charges for storage of luggage after check-out. They have on-site laundry and massage services, which are quite overprices compared to options just few steps outside of hotel door.

The hotel staffs are very accommodating as they immediately responded to the needs of every hotel guest. We had an experience where my 4-year old daughter accidentally dropped the glass on the floor and was broken. We immediately informed the reception staff to consider it should there be any charges (yes, there is at Php120.00). In a few minutes a housekeeping staff came up to voluntarily (coz we did not requested for it) to clean the pieces of the broken glass to avoid any untoward incident. We were so happy that they care for our safety too. Moreover, the price of the food is expensive as compared to the type of food served. Maybe,they could consider that in the near future. Room is clean but smaller compared to the rooms of other hotel of the same category and price.

The main reason my wife and I stayed at this hotel was because it it very close to the US Embassy. Its about an 8 minute walk to the Embassy and to St. Luke's Extension Clinic. The rooms in this hotel are small, and you can easily hear people walking around the hallways, but the cleanliness makes up for these shortcomings. The rooms in this hotel are small, and you can easily hear people walking around the hallways, but the cleanliness makes up for these shortcomings. Most hotels at this price are not clean but Hotel Juliano is clean and the shower is hot. If you want a small clean hotel for a cheap price then this is a great choice. If you want to sleep in luxury while spending your time in Manila then this is not your best option.

The restaurant was great having a not only a standard "global" menu but a very nice Italian menu too. The set breakfast wasn't up to much either, not much at all. I would rather pay less for the room and eat out or even be given a voucher in lieu of have the set breakfast and putting it towards a very nice meal in their excellent restaurant in the evening. This is also only the second hotel I have ever stayed in that has direct access to a casino. I don't gamble myself but I'm sure that this feature would appeal to some.

Night staff woke me up at 3am on the dot and was upset that I was not ready to take the taxi to the airport. I advised them the wake up call was for 3am and the taxi was scheduled for 330am per the front desk earlier that day. I told them that the taxi will just have to wait because I was not yet ready expecting to depart. I had the loveliest time at Miramar Hotel! Stayed for two nights, just for an event in the adjacent Hotel. Miramar is quite beautiful, a true art deco place. Carpeted stairs, ornate decor, and an airy open interior. I was given a corner room on the 4th floor. (I booked the most basic one, so if that's it then wow, and if I was upgraded, then awesome!) I had SO MUCH SPACE and I loved it. The room was worth so much. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom spotlessly clean. Seriously, spotlessly clean. There was no hint of mold. It's true that there's a bit of karaoke noise from downstairs but it wasn't too bad, and during my stay the singing usually stopped around half past midnight anyway. People who sleep late, like myself, would have no issues. I also tried their breakfast, which I didn't purchase with the room. Generous servings, and very fast service! I had ordered in advance, expecting the normal hotel wait for room service, but lo and behold barely ten minutes later, here was my food. No free wifi in the room, but you can grab a card worth PHP 100 for three hours from the front desk. Expensive, but a much better bargain than Microtel's PHP 100 for one hour! And the net is fast so it's worth it. Or you could go to the lobby where it's free. Best part of the hotel: the staff. Particularly manong guard at the front. If hotel management is reading this please do say thank you to manong guard for making my stay a very pleasant one! All in all, I'll be staying at this hotel again when the need to be in Manila arises. (Lastly, Emerald Garden is a two minute walk away in the direction of Starbucks! Go there for the best siopao in the Philippines! Ah, and yes, there's a Chowking, a Starbucks open until 1am, and a 24-hour 7-11 right beside the hotel.)

The bed was comfortable, and the staff carefully made it up with fancily-folded towel and bedspread. There was a small LCD tv attached to the wall with about 60 cable channels. (Note that none of the hotels I have stayed in in Manila had cable service that provided anything approaching a decent picture. This includes a couple of 4-star hotels.) The room had large windows with nice views of the city. There was a sink in the room, in addition to the one in the bathroom. The bathroom was small but adequate. Everything (except TV cable) worked well. After my initial stay of 3 days, I extended for an additional 3 days instead of moving to a fancier place that I had planned on. I was very happy with these accommodations for the price, and enjoyed several long conversations with the very friendly staff.

Kisses: Smoking Area , Price and Proximity Kicks: Very Old, TV is Small, Noisy inside(walls not sound proof) and outside(Car Horns and shouting all day),water heater not working, no room service, no landline, old itchy sheets, cracked pipes and toilet bowl and dark room. overall: im used to it so its not that bad hahaha i think the commercial motels are better but then again you get what you pay for.

I thought the hotel for the money was great and the staff was excellent and very helpful. I would stay there again in a second, but i was not sure where to stay since first time in manilla. If i had my way i would be in the center of everything so i could just walk everywhere and not have to mess with the taxi's and jeepney's. They are very good and effecient but with a bad back hopping in and out of the jeepney's often is not too good, and that is when they are full and you have to crawl up to the front of them. Overall stay was great and i thought the place and the staff was as good as they get and the price was exceptional.
