The room was lovely and the view of West Lake was magical. Everything about our stay was pretty much on par with my expectations of the Intercontinental. Very kind staff who helped us arrange in-room massages and a lovely surprise room service one of the nights. The location of course is not the best if you want to be in Old Quarter, but we had a nice time walking around West Lake, and found it convenient to take a taxi to some of the sights outside of the Old Quarter that were on our list (such as One Pillar Pagoda). Overall, enjoyed the stay thoroughly.

We booked a room at Somerset West Point as a treat for ourselves before our wedding weekend, and it was an absolute pleasure. Everything was perfect, the staff was always helpful and courteous, and the apartment was in tip top condition. The room also came with access to lots of facilities, which unfortunately we didn't have time to use. There's a Starbucks downstairs, and great local food and coffee is just steps away. The only issue we had, which was completely out of Somerset's control, was the daily struggle to get there from the city center. There are major works going on on the road connecting West Lake (the area it's in) and the center/old quarter, so traffic is a nightmare. Taxis are also banned during rush hours.

We spent 2 nights to celebrate New Year @ Hanoi. It's our honeymoon so we choose Luxury Club Room to get good service & nice room. Everything in Summit Club @ 17th floors,it starts with great Vietnamese Coffee while we wait for check-in at private Lux club. We get West Lake view cuz it's our honeymoon. Then, happy our 5.30-7.30 pm, we come to have all you can drink, champange, beer, wine...with good quality, my husband loves these. After that, we went to Roof Top RES. to count-down New Year with perfect view on 20th flr. SUCH A GREAT TIME THERE !!! In the morning, we have trip to go Halong Bay so kind of rush hour. The staff gives us the Breakf take away with variety choices Japanese/Vietnamese/American Breakf esp croissant...I love BreakF & Vietnamese coffee ...so greattt....No WONDER WHY WE BE BACK HERE AGAIN... Professional staff with good service & outstanding room @ West Lake view....with Private Luxry Club & great Food & drinks....SEE YOU AGAING

The location of this hotel is next to West Lake. This is a quiet and peaceful place in center of Hanoi. This hotel is quite far from Noi Bai International airport. (1 hour and 19$ full price for taxi to get there) In my opinion if you are seeking a place with beautiful nature for relaxing - Sheraton is not the place for you because it located in the center of a crowded city. However this is absolutely a perfect place for you to stay during your business trip. It has everything you need for couple days staying such as comfortable room with widely bed, fully furnished, facilities, nice bathroom with tub and shower room, breakfast every morning, new newspapers and magazines... (Or even longer for your family trip if you're planning for a staying in Hanoi and travel around the city, shopping, visit your relations, etc.) When I came, the receptionists impressed me with their professional and friendly attitude. They can offer you good service during your time spending here. All staffs are kind and well-training. I really appreciate their fast service. I called Guest Services so many times for meal and room service and they did not let me wait for long time. Besides that, I ordered dishes from Sheraton's restaurants for dinner and midnight meal and their food's quality can satisfied me. Most of dishes I ordered were delicious (except Stir rice - I can't even swallow it. I hoped they did not stir rice with corn next time) Although all good points they have, there are some disadvantages here. I cannot access to the 3g connection on mobile network. Mobile is always has weak cellular signal. All phone calls keeps disconnecting and re-connecting during the conversation. I can't even have a conversation without hang-up. Text messages cannot sent, my mobile almost useless when I was in Hotel. Smartphone is a common device for long distance working. How can people use their phone if there is no cellular? I'd like to check commend all the staff of this hotel for the job well done in making me as their guest so happy to the max. Their room price is good for what you'll get is much higher than you'll expect. Their hotel F.O STAFf were the best specially Tran Ngoc Bao and the woman front desk assigned in the morning. My vietnamese friend wanted me to move after Oct 11 - 12 booking but I insist to stay again in Oct 12 to 13 2017.and there was no regret was so ever. I came back in Oct 16-17 before my flight on 17 Oct 2017.they have assisted me well with taxi that took me to the airport with a very affordable price. Home hotels west lake you're all the best. Your breakfast staffs are so good in making as guests feel at home.

this location is good for mingling with locals - you won't see any package tourists or backpackers in this area and can soak up the real local hanoi as much as you like. the west lake right next to the hotel is perfect for walks, cycling or sitting in a cafe - there is even a kayak rental. to reach the centre of hanoi you will need a taxi or motorcycle taxi, both easy to get, or you could use the local buses. i walked to the museum of ethnology and while it is a long walk, you'll get even more exposure to the local life. i found the rooms very comfortable, bordering on luxurious even, and well kept. the staff here is friendly and lovely: in addition to helping me with any questions and problems i had during my stay in hanoi, they took me to lunch at the local temple and we went morning walking twice with the manager and his son. it was always nice to stop and chat with the people here, and they would ask me how my day had been and what i had been up to, ready to help me plan my next day's program. the restaurant on the top floor is cozy with a splendid view over the lake. the included breakfast was wonderful and my vegan diet was easily accommodated. i even got to taste some of the manager's home cooking. all in all a hotel that made me feel like i was at home among friends. will visit again.

Have stayed here a few times, always enjoy my visits. The staff are very attentive and make sure they can help in any way. The location is central to the expat area and there are some very good eatery's within a short walk on Xuan Dieu street. The views from the more expensive rooms facing west lake are very good. Some with your own little balcony. You select breakfast the night before from a small but excellent selection. A very well run small hotel in an excellent location.

Great. The management tried very hard to make me happy. I had to attend two meetings while in Hanoi and conduct remote meetings via Skype--I could use the wifi signal and the front desk printed documents for me. I visited Hanoi halfway in a 40-day Asia trip for work; I indulged in some Western eating; there are a few great European cafes on the street. At the same time, there are bia hois and pho shops there too, so don't despair. The rooms are spacious with rather outdated amenities, but if you've traveled any in Asia or studied there, you'll find the furniture and amenities just fine. My room had a big dormitory-style fridge, so I ate my own cereal for breakfast (I think i hurt the management's feelings, but really, I was tired of noodles and fermented veggies for breakfast, sorry). Proximity to West Lake (11+- km in diameter) allowed me to run in the morning, keeping up my marathon training. The National Rowing Team rows on the lake if you are a rower; they scull and sweep (I row, so I found the boat house and talked with the coach--very cool!). I also got my laundry done a few doors down. My experience here was really quite great. If you go and you are not native Vietnamese speaker, you will likely find yourself in the minority, but the staff there is cheerful and very accommodating. I'll go back in a flash!

The room was quite nice and much better than what I'd seen so far in Vietnam. It was a bit difficult to find, kind of down an alley and lacking prominent signage. Someone came to find me though. Another problem with the location is it that the area nearby, though paved, got quite muddy during the rain, maybe because of the nearby flower market. But it was a clean and very nice place to stay, close to the nice West Lake area.

The bed was very comfy and the linens clean. The space overall was clean except .Best towels (nice and fluffy). Air conditioning worked very well and the room was quiet at night. Lots of water pressure and warm water. Wifi worked very well. I was on the second floor so view was onto street (fun to watch vendors) and a bit of the lake. Coffee maker and fridge provided. Staff was friendly but speak English very well. I liked the location as it was quieter than old town and the area around the lake is nice. The Hanoi Club is close by and has a cafe and swimming pool - I met some friends there and I think the pool can be accessed at a fee.

The place can be considered to be strategically located as it is very accessible to taxis and is very near West Lake. Creepy though as the hallways are dark and fronting the elevator (6th floor where we stayed), there are nude photos which are inappropriate if you have kids with you. The room is old but spacious. Since it is an old building/old room, the shower and other furnitures need replacing. The bed is tooooooo hard!!! I had difficulty sleeping and in just one night, the bed was able to bring out all sorts of pain on y body particularly my back and shoulder.

The city of Hanoi is noisy on the whole but the West Lake area around this hotel is relatively quiet. In order to enjoy the view of the West Lake, I definitely recommend a room with a balcony. If you plan to visit Sen (a great restaurant with buffet style), the hotel is very convenient because it is about 5 minutes on foot from it. The staffs welcome you with warm hearts. They are very kind and answer politely when you ask questions about Vietnam and Hanoi. To arrive at the hotel from the airport, the bus number 86 is convenient. When getting off at the stop near the cross of AuCo street and Lac Long Quan street, you can arrive at the hotel in about 15 minutes on foot.

Staff was very friendly. Location is good but not easy to identify between the shops. Should put up a more noticeable sign. But its opp sofitel which costs much more and you can get around easily from there. Walk to the lake. Short taxi ride to buy stuff and sight seeing. Room is only good to shower and sleep, no space to move around. Bed and pillow was new and bouncy not what i like. overall stay for 2 nights was good. had wifi though not great strength but then again in vietnam you get wifi everywhere passwodds are on receipts.
