I chose to stay here for the night before my diving camp, as they offer a room-only option. Even though I contacted them only an hour before my arrival, they kindly picked me up at the station at 22:30. I felt bad for inconveniencing them, but they were very understanding and helpful. Although it's only a 5-minute walk from the station, it was raining and I asked for their assistance. The bath can be reserved through a mobile phone and is completely private with a lock. I enjoyed a relaxing bath by myself. The room does not have a toilet or bath. The fridge in the room had complimentary barley tea, and there was coffee and tea in the lobby that I could take to my room. They also had a selection of yukata and samue (work clothes), and I was happy to wear the samue as I tend to move around a lot in my sleep and the yukata would have come undone. Even after checking out, they were kind enough to offer me a ride to the nearby diving shop as they were worried I didn't have an umbrella. I had a great stay and would definitely come back if I'm in the area again. Thank you so much for the helpful shuttle service!

Perfect Traditional Ryokan Experience in Izu Kogen”
If you come out of Izu Kogen Station and head north, it will be closer, and it takes about 6-8 minutes on foot, which is very convenient. If you need the owner to pick you up, you may need to make a reservation one day in advance. There is a supermarket on the way to the hotel, which sells a wide range of products at affordable prices. The hotel currently has two Taiwanese staff who can provide Chinese services. The hotel owner is also very enthusiastic and can speak a little simple English. They also use translation software very well. They will actively inquire about the attractions you want to visit and drive you there. On the day of departure, they will also take you to the station, providing excellent service. We booked a one-night stay with two meals, and the dinner and breakfast provided were both delicious traditional Japanese cuisine, which was carefully prepared by the owner. I highly recommend staying here!

Home away from home- definitely be back again ”
Environment: A family run business with warm hospitality that felt like home away from home. The moment we stepped in, we felt like we were back home in my in-law's place in the other prefecture. Communication: The young staff speaks Mandarin (from Taiwan) and owner speaks some English. Communication is not an issue. Service: Beyond words. We called owner at 11am the same day for check-in to request for last minute dinner and breakfast, he checked with the kitchen and confirmed they were able to accommodate our request. The meal was delicious and home feel. There was as also a big screen showing NHK news in English, made us feel even more at home as our family watch news daily over at dinner. Transport: We know owner is not obligated to drive us to our next destination but he offered to drop off all his guests at the nearest train station and even picked them up.. He even dropped us off at Mount Omuro (next to the Zoo). We left our luggages at the hotel upon checkout and the owner sent them to the station after we gave him a call to inform him our train arrival time at the train station. Suggestion: do give them advance notice for the pick up /drop off time. I think it will help them ease the workload. This place is ran by an old couple and their son with one staff (that’s what we observed during our stay). Amazing at how the service was top notch despite the limited manpower. Room: The room was huge and clean. It can accommodate around 6-8 futons. Good for a big family. Onsen (hot spring) : Love it!! It is private (2 types, big and small). Need to reserve using their app, no stress to share with strangers. Overall, simple hotel but filled with excellent service and comfortable stay. Toilet : Shared toilet outside room. Super clean and nearby. Basin for morning wash up as there is no bathroom attached in the bedroom. It is fine with us as it was clean and accessible. I think they only have 12 rooms so even though most facilities are shared, it didn’t compromise our privacy and usage. Highly recommended for those who wants to stay in a place that feels like home.

Very near the train station and easy to locate. The owner and his taiwanese staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts prepared were delicious and should not be missed. Within walking distance to a convenience store, a drugstore/department store, supermarket and Daiso. Strongly Recommended.

Best Japnese style Ryokan experience ever”
I recently stayed at Hinodeya and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel owner was incredibly hospitable and welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. One of the highlights of my stay was the owner driving me to nearby attractions, which made exploring the area so much easier. The breakfast and dinner served at the hotel were also fantastic - the meals were both plentiful and delicious, making for a great start and end to my day. Another great thing about Hinodeya is that it's very family-friendly and the staff were always accommodating and friendly towards us. Lastly, I visited in April during springtime in Izu, and it was the perfect time to travel. The weather was mild for hiking and the cherry blossoms were still spot-able, making for a truly picturesque and memorable trip. I highly recommend Hinodeya for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming hotel in the Izu area.
