Great Stay”

We had a great stay at the Lux, the owners were amazing, the hotel was clean and comfortable and it was in a great location. We went down to the desk one day asking how to get to Manjanggul Caves by bus and were offered a car ride instead by the owners. They were going to Jeju city and offered to drop us off on the way, it was very generous. We were also planning to fly out during a typhoon which didn't turnout and the owner offered to drive us to the bus stop and use his phone to call the airline. The hotel is also very close to Seongsan Ilchubong, Seopjikoji and two great beaches.

Spacious room in Seongsan area”

The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were somewhat hard (still had a good night's sleep though). My room had blackout curtains (standard double) which was good. The location was good for visiting Seongsan, Udo, and Manjanggul area. The Goseongri bus stop (where you can take express buses to/from the airport, Jeju City, or Seogwipo) is a 5-minute walk away, while the bus stop to Seongsan Sunrise Peak was 1 minute away by foot. The only cons: (a) there is no real reception staff -- only cleaners who are not fluent in English, and (b) the towels sometimes are big, sometimes small. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy though. I'd book this place again if I'm visiting the area.

Very impressive hotel with excellent location”

For travellers in Jeju Island without a car, this hotel is indeed the best choice as it can be reached by long-ride bus stopped at gu-seng-li and the hotel is just 2-3min walk! And it is very convenient to visit U-do and Song-san so the location is just excellent! I am also very impressed by the hotel owner who gave us a free ride to the boat terminal and also suggested a delicious restaurant. There are some boxes of jeju oranges for free too.

Great stay”

The room was clean and pretty adequate. I was expecting it to be small due to some of the reviews I have read, but it turned out fine. We had two large luggages and two large handcarry bags, and they fit fine. Bed was comfy and the bathroom size was adequate. The TV had all sorts of channels. We chose it because of its close proximity to Seongsan and U-do Island. It took us just over 4000 won to take a taxi to the ferry terminal to get to U-do island. There are restaurants and convenience stores nearby too. I don't know why people complain about the place considering the price they paid. If you want something lavish, pay more. If you want something right next to Seongsan, camp there then. The staff were extremely helpful too! Great stay.

Perfect location for exploring eastern Jeju”

We stayed at Jeju Lux for one night just to catch the sunrise at Ilchubong the next morning. Ilchubong was just 5-10 minutes away, so we didn't have to wake up that early. The room was clean and very adequately provided with all necessities. Really good value at the price paid, and the perfect base for exploring Eastern Jeju (Ilchubong, Udo, Manjanggul Cave etc).

Nice host!”

Staying with Jeju Lux Hotel, I feel warm. The room is not only clean but also comfortable. The most important thing is that the host is really nice and helpful. Lux Hotel is highly recommended.

Language Barrier but awesome service”

We are 2 girls traveling to Jeju. The day we arrived at the airport, the airport counter staff tried calling the owner for directions before we take a cab. Surprisingly and coincidentally, the owner is somewhere near the city area too. So they picked us up and drive us all the way to their hotel which takes an hour. Owner's english is not good but his wife has better command of english. The owner is so helpful that he escort us to this BBQ Pork restaurant which they recommend us when we are asking for good restaurant. This reesturant is just around the corner (3 minutes walk). Lastly, the air in jeju is soso good, hotel location is near the shore, feels serene. It is very near seongsang ichulbong too.

Great place to stay”

I enjoyed my stay in Jeju Lux Hotel tho only for one night. It was def worth the money! Location is great with kind staff and wonderful interiors.

Good for one night”

We stayed at the Lux hotel for an evening before our journey up Sunrise peak for the following morning's sunrise. It was a good place to stay for the night, but not really for a longer vacation in the area. The hotel is a 4 (5?) storey building on a small back road and has an awkward parking lot (but where in Jeju doesn't?). The room and bathroom was clean and the bed/pillows were satisfactory. The bathroom glass window is frosted but it is still pretty easy to see what's going on inside, even in the toilet portion of the bathroom... which is far from romantic :). Staff were super friendly.

It Is Underrated”

It's just 8 mins drive to Ilchubong and 5 minutes drive to Jeju port (if you are going to Udo island). Try the small restaurant selling grilled stew fish just outside the hotel, business hour is from 8am-4pm, you can't miss it anyway as there is this long queue waiting to be seated every morning. You do not have to order as they only sell 1 dish, the boss will serve the dish base on headcount. My advice is to take the number once you wake up and go back to shower/change to save waiting time. I keep going back after the 1st taste. Also, there is this famous black pork BBQ restaurant, also around the corner, may ask the hotel boss for direction.

The hotel staffs & the locals are so helpful in helping us find the route/bus number of places that we plan going. Very comfortable stay and like room interior deco - cozy except the bathroom glass design which suits couples better (no lock / not fully covered etc)

My stay at the Jeju Lux Hotel”

I thought the location of this hotel was the best. It was pretty close to the main tourist attraction of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, which is where the main eateries are, but near the hotel itself were a few good dining options and stores. It's a very small town so not much to do in regards of night life. I liked the room and thought it was comfortable and clean. I thought for the price we paid it was pretty reasonable and I enjoyed my stay.

Comfy & best if you drive”

We enjoyed our stay coz the room is really comfortable. The first night we had no idea what to eat coz it was late & the staff recommended BBQ restaurant just nearby & it was good. The next morning we had breakfast at the restaurant nearby the hotel that was recommended by my friend & it was really delicious! Will definitely come back if we visit Jeju again!

Taste of Seongsan Jeju”

Small & Whimsical, perfect for sunrise catchers”

My reason behind this booking was to catch the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. And this hotel, from my surveying, was the only nearest lodging to the Peak that was modern, clean and cheap. Took me barely 10 minutes stroll to the seaside to catch the sunrise. While my one-night stay would be rather short, the stay was a good one. The couple at the reception (probably the owners of this lodging) were friendly despite our very late check-in, and while they looked pretty stern at first glance, were friendly after a few physical exchanges. While their understanding of English was limited, my rusty Korean did no help to elevate the language barrier. At last, this would be a gem if you are planning to hike the Seongsan Sunrise Peak.

Modern & comfortable hotel”

Only spend a night at Jeju Lux hotel. The location is decent if you are intending to visit the eastern Jeju attractions (Sunrise peak etc..) There are also some bakery shops & cafes nearby where you can have your breakfast. The room is quite modern design, comfortable beds and also comes with a PC in the room where you can surf the internet. Hotel has a few car parking lots for you to use if you have a rental car.

Nicely designed room”

The hotel is very near to the Seongsan Ilchulbong (sunrise peak), only 5 min driving. The hotel is new and the room is very spacious and nicely decorated. They even provide hair gel, comb, moisturiser and perfume on the dressing table. Free car parking. You may get coffee at the lobby without any charges. We found it has limited choice of restaurant for dinner nearby.

Good Location”

Pros: 1)From Seogwipo, take bus 701 to Goseong-ri bus stop. Jeju Lux is just across the street. 2)Within walkable duration of 20-30 minutes to Seongsan Sunrise Peak and Seongsan Harbour to Udo Island. You can walk along the beach or the road and it is nice as there is not much traffic. From Seongsan Sunrise Peak to Seongsan Harbour, walk by the backlane (olle trail) which is about 15 minutes otherwise by the main road, it will take over 30 minutes. 3)Convenience store GS25 and small eateries nearby. Cons: 1)No staff at the reception most of the time. Waited for almost half an hour during check-in and ringing the bell numerous times yielded no response. When we finally saw the staff, she didn't bother to ask us if we were checking in until we asked.

Perfect for next day sun-rise view”

We arrived close to 12am as we landed Jeju in the evening plus we had dinner in the town before heading to the hotel. The reason to choose this hotel is simply because we wanted to catch the sun-rise at Seong San on the next day. Were a little worried that no one will handle our check in so late but there was a guy sleeping at the back of the counter. Though he speak very limited english. Nothing to complain on the basic they provide. Only 5 mins drive to the parking area of sun rise view area. (You then have to climb the stairs quite abit, 300m i believe)
