I would wholeheartly stay here again and regret not staying here for the first few days I was in the city. We had booked an 11 day holiday in the country and our first stay was by Preah Sisowath Quay, using Airbnb to stay at an apartment for 3 days, which we cut short due to the place not really being up to scratch and located in the red light district of the city (though it was close to the places of interest to visit). That stay had put a damper on our mood, especially with things falling apart of the AC taking time to swtich on or off as the batteries or the remotes were not great. This on the other hand had most things we needed and also a supermarket less than 5 mins walk away. Swimming pool is great in the morning and early afternoons and the rooftop terrace is pretty great to lie around and get a tan. The only downside is that it is far from the main attraction sites in the city and you will need to ride a tuk tuk or taxi to get there. In some cases, you may have to call for one

This is a very good hotel for the price. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was a nice relief from the heat. Breakfast was good. The location is a little bit away from the main tourist areas. It worked for us but may not be the best for everyone. Travel in Phnom Penh is not cheap or easy. Traffic can be bad at all times of day.

Not top notch hotel but best value. Close to side of town I like. Phnom Penh is so spread out. First time traveler needs to book room for only a couple nights. Then decide what part of town suites there needs. Cost to go nearly everywhere this side of town only $1-$2. Staff here is the best. Mostly Asian business travelers. Book with breakfast. You will quickly find it is a favorite for locals as will.

I am an expat living in Phnom Penh, not a tourist. I use the Lucky Star 2 as my go to place whenever I'm between apartments or changing apartments, as I move around in SE Asia a lot, and I tend to move around within the city some as well just to keep things interesting. The Lucky Star 2 doesn't have a lot of luxuries, but what it does have is a low price, big rooms that are clean and comfortable with a modern feel to them, wooden furniture built into the walls and nice flat screen TVs, warm water in the showers, and a balcony that doesn't give you a spectacular view - you're probably going to be looking out over Tuol Kork, not a tourist hotspot really, but the skyline of Phnom Penh is always beautiful no matter what neighborhood you view it from, especially at dawn and twilight. I've never had anything stolen from one of my rooms there and I have kept many very nice and expensive things there with me because, like I said, I use it was a stopover when transitioning apartments or when I am first arriving in town from another locale or about to leave. The staff won't bend over backwards for you, but they are polite and honest. There is now a cafe open in the lobby; I haven't eaten the food there yet but the coffee drinks and smoothies are OK for the price and it's a nice convenience. This hotel isn't particularly near any tourist spots and you won't want to walk blindly around Tuol Kork if you don't know what you are doing. Hail one of the tuk-tuks outside the lobby and have them take you to Riverside or the Royal Palace or Tuol Sleng etc before you do any exploring on foot. It isn't *dangerous* there per se ... but crimes of opportunity do occur all the time, and tourists are easy to spot and always considered a good opportunity. Enjoy your stay.

There were some conflicting reviews about this hotel. I think most of the bad ones were from travelers with invalid expectations. This is a good hotel by the standards of SE Asia. If you are a tourist and this is your first trip to Phnom Penh and you want to stay up late drinking by the Riverside, don't stay here. On the other hand, if you have business on the western side of Phnom Penh the hotel is great. No, it does not have shower curtains. Most bathrooms in Asia don't. The breakfast is Asian style but good. You get fried rice a few side dishes. It is in Korea town so they may have kimchi. There is no bacon or sausage or pastries. So if you know the standards of SE Asia and are concerned about staying here because of some negative reviews, don't be. The hotel is an excellent choice and great value. If, on the other hand, you have a Western perspective want the tourist experience, spend more and go stay by the Riverside. You'll be happier there.

We booked this room because it was close to the clinic. We were sick and got in late one night after hours at the clinic. We were starving, but couldn’t walk because we weren’t feeling well. The guard went down the street, bought us some noodles, and brought it up to our room. The receptionist also brought us extra waters when I called a few moments later. I am so thankful they were there to help us. I would recommend this place for sure!

This is a typical Asian style hotel. It is a great deal if you get it for less than $15. There is no hot water in the shower (not a problem for me) and my air conditioning had a real problem getting the room below about 28 degrees (that was a problem). However, my friend who had a different room said the air conditioning turned the room into a meat locker, so it may be hit and miss. Overall it is a great place to stay if you are looking for value for money. The L2 bus stop is only 500 meters away and it takes you straight to the night market on the Riverside.

Like all my reviews, I'll start with the bad: 1) the phone in the room did not work and, the staff could not get it to work. 2) The safe in the room did not work for storage of personal effects. The good: 1) Super quiet location. 2) Best mattress I've slept on in a hotel in a long time. 3) Excellent service from the staff. 4) Good selection of breakfasts which are served hot. 5) Complimentary drinks on arrival. 6) Small but adequate bar fridge in the room. 7) Great decor and ambient music playing in the foyer. 8) *HUGE* room with TV & DVD player provided for those who want to watch movies.

If you are interested in experience how service minded people are, then you should take a look at this place, absolutely incredible. The owner has done a really good job with that part. Both her and her staff are so friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy staying at places like this, when a problem occurs they be MORE than happy to solve the problem, instead of giving you that tiring look. I really felt welcome and a part of a big family. They have free super clean water at the reception on tap. Eating the included breakfast at the rooftop was also a great experience. Wifi was good and stable. I really havnt anything to complain about. I took a picture of the staff that I wanted to upload but shame on you agoda for not letting me do this! ;) If I come back to Phnom Penh i definitely know where to go! /Pontus of Sweden

This is the best example that in really cheap hotel you can be treated like a member of Royal Family. The hotel is located nearby a road, so it is a little bit too loud. The rooms could be a bit bigger. But the staff could work in Hilton. I’m really impressed how their behaviour improve the general image of the hotel. I would like to take this opportunity to thank once again their manager (his name was starting from “ch” but it was too difficult to memorise for me – sorry😊).

hotel is based about 10 mins from the river side attractions you can easly get to the main tourist attractions from any of the many tuk-tuks that wait around the street for buisness about 3 u/s dollors for the trip to the river side. the staff are very freindly indeed on arrival you can access the internet in the lobby free to guest as well as making free phone calls from reception back to thailand or any local calls. the porters are very friendly and full of local information for the best places to visit. the rooms are very clean and very big for the cheap price that you can avail of. just a short 5 min walk to a shopping mall to get what ever gifts you need whithout having to drag them around alday and drop them back to yuor room.

it was a challenge to talk to the receptionists as they are having a difficulty to understand english. but i appreciate the effort and for really trying their best to make my stay comfortable. free wifi is a bit slow good for 15 minutes only. but we decided to avail of the $4 unlimited internet daily (good for 24 hours and there are other options). within walking distance to city mall and just a $2 tuktuk ride to the tourist attractions.

I had business in the Toul Kork area so I decided to rent a cheap place until I finish everything I needed. This is a long way from the airport but you can take a tuktuk, which costs at least $7. When we arrived here, they didn't have our reservation so we spent close to an hour in the lobby (no AC) waiting for them to verify our arrival. What was hard was that the Staff didn't speak a word of English so it was really more of a frustrating, sweltering 45minutes of waiting. Anyway, the staff decided to let us into our room whilst waiting (maybe they noticed we were melting on the spot) for a confirmation from the manager. The manager didn't get to speak to us until the next day and he said he got the reservation late night on the previous day. All in all the hotel was a bit dusty though new - because the road it was located on was a very, very dusty road. We had a reservation for 4 nights but fortunately we were able to acquire an apartment nearer to my place of business. When we checked out the mornign after we checked in, we asked the manager if we could charge the breakfast we had that morning to the remaining days on our reservation. He said no. Oh well. Anyway, they have nice and clean rooms. Room service is pretty slow though.

I was there for 3 nights. The place is located in the best part of Toul Kork, full of magnificent villas and good apartments buildings. The street is quite peaceful and the apartment had a great view of the surroundings in nearly 360 view. Close to avenue 315 where the best restaurants and shopping facilities are located. I was looking for a very peaceful place and this was it.

I chose this hotel for it's close location to the friends house, that I visited in Phnom Penh, and for a budget price. If not for that, I would never stayed there, as it is located far, far away from everything. The room was basic, bed sheets were not changed after previous guests - I had to have maid to correct that. This is very common issue in Asia. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would not recommend this hotel for people visiting Phnom Penh for it's attractions - you will be better off to find something near the city center.
