The only Review you Need”
Before we came to mad monkey reviews made us shorten our stay, the only reason we don't regret this is because after we left we were hungover human slugs with the social capacity of sloths. You will not regret your time here if you love to drink, play games and enjoy the best setting for being hungover Our Xmas there was amazing, the reps, even more so, we loved all of them for their dedication to making it a fucking awesome environment for everyone. Kyle, Nim, Connor, Gen, Frazer, Aiden are a bunch of sexy souls living their best lives and you will feel that energy Food is as cheap as you want it to be, fried rice is 2.50 which for cambodia is the cheapest you'll find especially on a solo island, but you can splurge for a curry at 5 dollars or there are more you can choose from as well Pro tip- beach clean for free drinks - blackout for free it's a win win Stayed in dorms and bungalows all clean, bathrooms cleaned twice a day, considering a party hostel it's one of the cleanest hostels we've stayed in but it is next to a jungle and is on a beach, expect wildlife most likely in and around your room like geckos and maybe a mouse If you do buy drinks, beer is 1.50, mixers 3, cocktails 4 but they have free shot rounds when they do games etc and they do happy hour obviously If you like to drink, you'll love it here, lean into it, talk to people and you'll have the best time, guaranteed. A resort for backpackers”
One of the safest hostels you’ll ever stay at, this little secluded drop of paradise is unchallenged in the world of hostels. Load up your wristband with cash and leave your gear in the room. With no way in or out other than by boat you and the other guests are left to enjoy all this place has to offer together. With the pier bar open in the afternoon for all your swimming/diving and drinking needs and the main area having a host of games to enjoy in the evening you’ll not want for meeting all the amazing guests. The staff are top shelf, somehow they all managed to remember my name even though the average stay is 3 nights. Leia/Aiden/Nim/Alex/Genesis/Anetta, the local Khmer staff all make the experience that much better You won’t be disappointed

Me and my friends spent 4 nights at Mad Monkey and had such a blast. The staff were so welcoming and constantly put on activities. Genesis, Lee, Frazer, Aidan & the rest of the lovely staff. You’re all absolute legends and party animals. We only booked two nights and automatically extended. You can expect rustic cabins, that make you feel like you’re at a summer camp for strictly adults! 😂 lots of swimming, great food, and you’re guaranteed to meet and make new friends. Also I strongly recommend the fishing and snorkelling! The Canadians will be back in the near future. Thanks everyone it was a blast- The Boys

The location and activities here were amazing, however it was the staff the made our trip! The manager Zach was incredibly friendly and helpful, made sure everyone felt comfortable and welcome. Abby and Ben were both very friendly and went out of their way to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves! Will definitely visit again!

Koh Rong Samloem Haven!!”
We’ve been travelling around Cambodia for a few weeks and this is the spot that takes the cake. The location is awesome, it’s the perfect get away to relax and search around the island. I stayed in a private Bungalow, which had its own private beach. The staff were so welcoming, my partner and I had the best time with them as they took us fishing and snorkelling. We arrived at a quieter time before Chinese New Year, so there weren’t too many people. But that gave us more time to relax mid trip and meet those who were visiting. We’re extending our trip to Chinese New Year for the big celebration.

Can't love it more. The reps are the diamond on this crown. Especially Jessie and Nim, they made me feel like a family. I believe many people extend their stay again and again like I do. Also the Kayaking is strongly recommended, not too much but loads of fun for the day after drinking at night every day... Would love to go back some day.

Boats & beaches with a chill atmosphere”
Absolutely loved the boat snorkel fishing tour at this hostel. I caught 2 fish and we ended up having it for our lunch on the bbq. Really neat time hammoks in the middle of the ocean. The mad monkey is far out from other places so if the vibe is good at the hostel it is a fun time. I stayed a few nights enjoyed my time relaxing at the beach partying with the guests enjoying the relaxation. Feels a bit like camping as the bathrooms are a walk from your accomodation and beds have mosquito nets on them as we are in the jungle on an island so plenty of cute insects around. Thanks to the staff that were nice and friendly good times swimming drinking and fishing. If you're in koh rong check Mad Monkey out. There is also a free ferry that is provided taking you to all the beaches nearby.

Very beautiful location! You can always choose whether to just chill at one of the small beaches, take one of the free boats to samsen beach, partake in one of the activities throughout the day or start your day with a beer. I really enjoyed hearing a little music from the bar while chilling at the beach and join the action when I felt like it. The small dorm huts are beautiful, each with a balcony facing the sea. I extended my stay and enjoyed my time very much. Reps very motivated and helpful, as was the rest of staff. If you’re looking for a good mix between chilling and party, I reckon you’ll find it at Mad Monkey.

amazing place, total paradise”
Amazing place, was supposed to stay for 2 nights, but due the ppl and the Cambodian curry, I ended up with 6 nights. Every rep treated us so amazing and made our experience. I’ve been travelling for 2 months and haven’t stayed in a better hostel. I would like to mention all the reps as they have been absolutely unbelievable: Lisa, Liz, cam, Sam, fern, John, zayne, Kat, Gina, Pete. And the biggest shoutout to the local staff who are the kindest, happiest and most incredible workers. Thank you to everyone for being just fantastic.

Came here for 2 nights, ended up having a week there. I really really loved the place. Private bay for you and rest of the people staying there, phone signal is weak and there's no wifi so you can just chill and enjoy the view! If you're a party animal this is totally your place. Can't put it in words, you need to go and see. 100% would recommend this. See you guys later.

amazing place with great atmosphere, caused by a combination of lack of WiFi, great reps (shout out to Liz, Sam, Cameron, and fern!) Awesome place to disconnect. It's on a secluded beach only reachable by boat, what little wifi there is in common area is unrealiable and there's no electricity in the bungalows. But it's a party hostel and for that it's amazing, just don't go in expecting peace and quiet.

Nice remote place”
A place distant from other shops or restaurants, so have to get your food and drinks at the place itselfs. Which is all good! Travellers Abi and Tom were working there temporarily and for me were helping with making it the nice place it is, with organizing fishing trips and other games at night. Good place to calm down for a couple of days
