A great respite in the city center. The pool is beautiful and has a great view of the city. The beds are comfy. The bath is AMAZING. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience! I would definitely stay here again.

Decent place, no restaurant”
This place was okay, clean enough, comfortable enough and with a nice rooftop pool (it was ruined by a bunch of young Western tourists drinking and partying there with loud music but that’s nothing to do with the hotel). One criticism: they have a downstairs restaurant area but no food (apart from breakfast for some reason). You can find better places for cheaper in PP but this was okay.

We were travelling with another couple and both of us were given rooms which were a complete disaster. They did very quickly accommodate us with other rooms, however, the standard of cleanliness was lacking. There were no pool towels and we made due with our room towels, which seemed to be difficult to come by as they continually short towelled us. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were excellent. There was an issue with hot showers and they did fix it very quickly. However, because of the lack of cleaning, we cannot recommend this hotel.

I've been going to Phnom Penh for 12 years and spent a couple of years there full time recently - and saw the monsoon bassac then. It has s great street cocktail bar near the famous White Building and good food. So on a recent quick trip back I booked the hotel. It's very good - modern, well appointed, great staff, nice decor, good breakfast. The only thing that spoiled it for me was the plumbing - like many SE Asian buildings that are not carefully managed when they are being built, water traps are missed from the plumbing so the room reeks of septic tanks. The cleaners used an oil burner to try to mask the smell whilst I was out for the day, but the perfume from the oil was so sweet, thick and cloying that it was just as bad as the septic tank smell. Great hotel, get a back room as the front rooms with balcony have traffic noise all night, and good value too....they just need to spend a few thousand getting those sewer pipes sorted out.

I had no issues with my stay at Monsoon Bassac Hotel. The room was clean and I had a nice small balcony. The bathroom was not as advertised (no tub) but it wasn't a big deal. The location wasn't exceptional because there isn't a great nightlife/restaurant scene right near the hotel, but it's within walking distance. There was a little bit of an ant issue in my room, and one day someone did not come in to clean my room at all. I also had one issue at the front restaurant -- a few staff saw me but no one came to serve me. I know people work hard and sometimes there are mistakes, so no big deal, but I think this could be an area of improvement for the future.

Great boutique hotel”
We've stayed at many places in Phnom Penh, but this hotel is definitely a new favourite. We loved so many things about it: the decor, the outdoor bar, the location, the lovely staff. The restaurant menu is really interesting and everything we had was delicious (who knew buffalo would be so tasty!). The balcony room was clean and comfortable. We had an air con issue in the first room we checked into, but were moved into another room when this was pointed out with no problem at all. The drains are a bit smelly, but this is normal for Cambodia. The hotel is locally owned and run which is another thing we love about it. We'll be back!

Nice place to stay in cool area”
I really enjoyed this hotel - the rooftop bar (though small) was nice to relax by (but tons of mosquitos so wear spray!). The room was very nice, clean, comfortable. The restaurant was good too and there is a very cool street nearby, Bassac Lane, with some trendy restaurants and bars. The only thing I found strange is the hotel hallways are open on one side to the street so even in the room with the door closed you can hear street noise. Otherwise it was perfect.

Chilled decorated hotel In nice central neighbourhood”
Very clean and relaxed. Decorated boutique hotel reminded me of shoreditch with Bassac Lane close by for night out. Hotel has a good breakfast and bar in front to watch the world goes by. Very convenient location, short tuk tuk ride to most tourist attractions... or walking distance to naga world. Book a balcony room!

In prime location. The hotel is set up nicely in the city centre. Minutes from restaurants in Bassac area. The restaurant and room is nicely decored. I hope to return again next time.
