“Romantic Country Retreat”
Was humming and har'ing about what sort of one night side to do, considered HaLong and Sapa, when we found this on Viator. It had minimal reviews but looked like a great itinerary. Well we were not disappointed, this was the highlight of our Hanoi holiday. We chose to stay in an ancient house room, (the Stilted House was more like a shared dormitory). The ancient houses have to completely independent hotel rooms with ensuites separated by a common area. The AC was one of the best we stayed at. We organised transport directly with the resort. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and treated like royalty. Nothing was too hard. We had the whole ancient house to ourselves. The rooms and grounds are so beautiful, we sat on the terrace for quiet drinks watching the fireflies before dinner. We had chosen the 4pm arrival, so it was just in time to relax then get dressed for dinner. Be aware, you will not go hungry. Every meal was a huge selection of Vietnamese specialties all laid out on our table, and all simply delicious. Because we chose the 4pm check-in, we did the village tour in the cool off the morning, which was wonderful. Mr Toan our guide was fantastic, and we opted for Motorbikes instead of cycling, and got to see the best parts of the countryside. Besides the poor internet, we really couldn't fault Moon Garden. It truly is a hidden gem. Thankyou to all the staff, you were amazing!!
