This is the ideal place for someone or group to come and have a relaxing vacation. Location of the hotel is amazing. Beautiful and well maintained rooms with nice layout. The food was amazing but it was a bit pricier than expected. Hotel staff a really helpful and nice. They will tell you all the activities around the hotel and how you can access those. All in all it was one memorable stay.
We stayed in one of the domes which was an experience in itself. Great location, but breakfast was pretty poor, the jacuzzi pools weren't working and the room didn't get made up unless you chased up a staff member and specifically requested it. We stayed 4 nights, but 2-3 would probably have been better.
We love staying at Moonlight and hope it will be around for a long time
Was scammed by reception guy who sent me to get a motorbike i was to drive io the road and there isnt any roads well too dangerous but all in all staff are great rooms is amazing food is way over priced walk down the road for a banging feed for the cost of 3 times left for the same meals
Good services, Very friendly staff 👍
With the reduced price from Agoda, the service received is much better than expected. Many interesting services include diving masks, surfing, and kayaking
Amazing hotel with a great service. It’s my favorite place in Sanloem ❤️
One of the nicest places I have stayed
Very valued for the money spent.
Great staffs and great effort to make my stay unforgettable. Be back again, cheers
Had a fantastic stay at Moonlight resort last week. Definitely one of the nicest resorts I've ever stayed at. The domes were a really unique experience to stay in and looked awesome. Easy access to the beautiful beach. Although a bit of a walk to the busier part of the beach, which is good for someone wanting a more quiet and relaxed stay. Sokhong & Tola were greet employees and went above and beyond with their services. They even helped me arrange a surprise birthday cake for my partner. 12/10 stars!! I'd come back here
we loved the moonlight hotel, it was an amazing experience. kiry (sorry if I mispeled his name) was so kind and friendly. our room was great, and that's the place if you want to chill, it's very quiet and thats what we wanted!
The room was clean and very nice, we didn’t want to leave! They had tanning beds and outdoor hanging beds at the beach which was nice, also outdoor shower for cooling off and free paddle boarding! The breakfast was great and the were able to accommodate our vegan meal, also breakfast to the room was available. The only downside was that the bathroom was outside and also the only mirror in the room and it was very hot outside. The shower was good. We had a very nice time :)
Definitely a place to stay. The resort was clean, spacious, and gorgeous. Had the room with the jacuzzi and it was splendid. Come and book this resort if you can.
The staff do an amazing job here to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It's not the cheapest place on the island, but it's fantastic value for what it is. The breakfast was very filling, and the beach is calm and perfect for a swim at any hour of the day or night. It was certainly the nicest looking place I saw on the island. It was mostly couples here, which seems the most suitable demographic, but it's nice if you want somewhere peaceful to relax. Make sure you tell them when you arrive on the island so they can send a boat to meet you, as it's a 1.5km hike along the beach from where the boat drops off, but that's true for most resorts on the island. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful, clean and safe
This place was amazing, so upmarket and fancy, staff really look after you and its such a beautiful location. The bedrooms and bathrooms are immaculate and incredibly comfortable. My partner and I got engaged here having dinner lit by tiki torches in the night on the beach eating incredible food and it will be a memory I have forever! The member of staff even burnt a little hear into the sand for us using parrafin
All staffs are very lovely and helpful. They all tried to accommodate pretty much every requests I had from making up my room at 6:30pm (when we forgot to tell them to do it) to helping us organizing our transportation. Khmer food are amazing. Love it. The only suggestion I have is the wifi connection. I stayed at room number 10. Wifi signal is not usable. The Cellcard connection doesn't exist. So I was pretty much offline the entire stay. It was my vacation, so internet connection is not really an issue, so living off-grid is a plus at this instance. But for those who are looking to work remotely, this is a huge issue. I hope hotel management team can look into improving this issue.
Nice round rooms near the beach, round bed also, good hot shower. Various choices for breakfast. Friendly staff who gave us some good tips for walking to the lighthouse and lazy beach. Various good options for dinner nearby.
My wife walked the whole length of Saracen Bay beach and declared that the section on which Moonlight sits is the best section on the large long expanse of sand that makes up this lovely bay. We had one of the domed Seaview rooms (number 4) which is a really extraordinary design, a bit like an igloo and it’s a wonderful space inside, as you will see from the photographs. Outside it has a small terrace, a table and chairs and loungers. The view is as you expect towards the sea and the very beautiful beach, but is shaded being in amongst some trees. Overall the standard of the accommodation is good. The Wi-Fi works well. The bathroom is small but perfectly adequate. The bed is reasonably comfortable. Maybe 7 or 8 out of 10. There is plenty of space, a fridge, a safe, and an area to hang clothes. Cleaning is done every day if you ask for it and they do resupply two bottles of water so if you haven’t had the room cleaned you can ask for your two bottles of water at breakfast. We found all of the staff diligent and friendly. The complementary breakfast provided is good, coffee, juice, a cooked meal plus some fruit. The cooked meal has a wide range from western style breakfast to the more traditional Khmer food options, again very reasonable. We felt the location on the bay was perfect because the hotel environment and the beach is very quiet and peaceful, but it is only 10 minutes walk along the beach to where it’s a bit more “happening”. The Odernez hostel and other places to eat are reasonably priced and because it’s a hostel there are a lot of young people around and it has a nice buzz to it. Cocktail prices are reduced for happy hour which lasts until nine. We ate there four of the six nights we were on the island, typical prices for food range from $3.50 to $5, cocktails during the happy hour were $3.50, and a barbecue option was available with salad and corn and garlic bread et cetera at about $8 a head. They were a couple of things that weren’t perfect with the room, a couple of lights that didn’t work. The doors into the rooms stuck on the floor, but overall these were very minor issues. The restaurant prices when high compared to down the beach maybe double. But tasted good. We met some friends who are staying at the Saracen Bay resort and had stayed there four years previously. They were very disappointed with their second visit. They felt the property was being run down. They particularly were irritated by building work going on next to the property. If you’re looking to do trips anywhere, e.g. a private taxi boat to Koh Rong these can be arranged via Mr Tasty barbecue which is next to the hostel but bear in mind his timings are not entirely reliable and he may take a circuitous route to get you there. We negotiated a price of $60 to get us from Moonlight to Sok San with private boat. if you just want to go to the nearest part of Koh Rong then it was $10. We also went to the “Dive shop” PADI outfit by the pier to do some diving which was professionally run and two dives cost $80 with all the equipment. The corals were in good condition, but the visibility was amongst the lowest I have experienced diving tropical waters all over the world, and I would estimate to see clearly, the range was maybe 4 to 5m. Those are reasonable amount of marine life to see but nothing of any size. Water temperature is a balmy 29 to 30°C. (February) Just for reference, we are a pair of 60 somethings, a doctor and a chartered accountant who have travelled in the Far East extensively since our 20s, we have stayed in a place costing £500 a night, and places costing £2 a night and have continued to do that sort of thing all these years, because sometimes really cheap places offer a completely different experience. It also gives us the ability I believe to be reasonably good judges of what is good and what is not good what is overrated and what is underrated. Our feeling is that Moonlight resort is slightly underrated at 8.5 on Agoda, I’d gi
Good place to stay and relax with beautiful weather.
Very beautiful experience.
The room is very clean and comfy, but so far from main pier but it’s okay because the staff pick up us at pier with boat. Overall so enjoy stay at moonlight resort, the staff is very friendly and kind
Free kayaks and paddle boards!!! Very helpful, professional staff. These rooms are awesome.
After arriving at the pier moonlight staff came and picked us up via boat to the resort... After arriving we know we've made the right decision to choose this resort .. staff and crew are very friendly, good food and generous amount, very clean room, well maintained, surrounded by trees and very clean environment, clean beach, excellent beach side dining... We'll definitely be back again next time... Thank you moonlight team
We loved this place. We stayed in a beachside 'dome' and had the best time. Staff are great, food is great, location is perfect. We came for 3 nights, stayed for 7 and were sad to go.
Unique dome accommodation on the powder white beach was lovely, as were the staff and on-site restaurant with many choices. Highly recommend, only negative was the bathroom drainage which had some blockage. As with all places on the island it's an adventure getting there with the ferries and then small boats - embrace it! The resident dogs are so friendly and love a pat. Also pack insect repellent for mosquitoes and sand flies.
Location is beautiful, on the quiet part of the saracen strip. Accommodations are nice, however some small quirks. I had to ask for my room to be freshened up but hadn’t been told to do so, they still haven’t repainted all of the red graffiti so a bit of an eyesore. However I will say that in walking the beach and viewing other properties, this was has the most charm with the pools and swings and swinging beds.
We loved our dome room on the beach. The facilities are peaceful and the staff is friendly. We have visited a couple of times in the past few years and hope to return for many years to come.
A wonderful beach resort, with a fancy architecture. Lots of greenery, 2 jacuzzis by the beach, bed swings. Well set up. Cool reception and restaurant in an echoing dome. A short walk on the beach will bring you to small shops, restaurants and bars. The island seems to slowly get a problem with stray dog packs. Met a view on walks across the island- hope they take a look how they deal with that in Thailand before it’s too late. Rooms are quiet run down- lots of maintenance is missing. Still lovely, due to their great dome style construction. As mostly here, no eye for details- and seems like no management that follows up on staff. Shower takes forever to run hot. Shower construction close to fall from the wall. No phone, for any requests you will walk to reception. The biggest failure is housekeeping- whatever can be forgotten, they will- but always with a smile. Dirty coffee cups on arrival. And again, always have to walk to reception to request what’s missing. From there they respond immediately, do the best to solve any issue with a big smile. All in all, a great getaway from Phnom Penh but far away from international standards . Still 4 stars for the great location, lovely surroundings and big smiles
Overall the resort is good, staff and food is great. Love the overall services. Room rent can be reduced compare to service. The also can arrange some local transport available for roaming around. I will recommend the resort, subject to lower price. Overall it's one of the best
The staffs are very friendly & help full from start to finish. Great variety of breakfast. The beach is clean, blue water. The food are not that great but eatable & what do you expect from an island kitchen. I would love to come back again & again.
The dome cabin/room is awesome the lay out is beautiful at night but the entire facilities is outdated and run down which shows during the day. Also, Seems like the staff is working with limited resources but they hold their smile and stay friendly and helpful. As much as I wanted to love the place, I felt like I was in a deserted island with limited resources.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, with outside private bathroom. Location is great, with the beach right in front and not too far from the pier (20min.), other restaurants/bars (15min), and right next to the new road to lazy beach, Great areas to relax with outside beds and small pools. The staff is accommodating and friendly. Just think they need to hire more staff as sometimes it's a bit long for the orders. The main dining hall could be cozier and could use some light music for atmosphere, but you can eat on the tables right in front of your room as well. Breakfast is fine and food is tasty, but a little bit pricier than average for the island. Coffee is very good. Overall, had a great stay.
Amazing rooms with a unique feel. The ocean was perfect. The staff was extra friendly.
Good resort but quite expensive
I won't recommend this place. The rooms were not clean, the bed linen had yellow stains, the dome windows were dirty. The swimming pool is just two hot tubs that look like they have not been treated in a while. Also all the resorts on the bay have been evicted and they have red spray paint in Khmer language all over. Not an inviting environment. I checked out as soon as I could and went somewhere else. Maybe this place was in a better state before the eviction but right now is not a place I'd recommend.
The staff is very welcoming and the hotel is located just near the sea Overall it’s a good value for money hôtel the breakfast works à la carte, they give you 1 ticket per person when you check in and you can chose one menu each
The resort is under demolition notice by the local government authority. The rooms exterior have been spray painted (in red) with warnings of impending demolition. Room is not pristine clean, water pressure (shower head) at bathroom is low (slow). Otherwise the hotel looks fine, staff is friendly and helpful. A bit over priced for the room under such condition.
It’s an amazing Ressort. Very beautiful look, clean, nice and helpful staff, reliable transfers, and good food. Rooms are very spacious and pretty. All in all we had a very nice experience and good memories. We will definitely recommend this place.
Our trip was great while staying at the resort. Green, clean and peaceful beach and environment. The staff was so friendly, we had welcome drink ( my husband likes it a lot), plate of fruit and borrowed the kayak whenever we wanted. We hope you guy will get win for this battle. Highly recommend
The service is very good, friendly and supporting staffs, the location is center of the beach so it's covenient to walk around or go Lazy beach
The special Dome style of the property is amazing. Wonderful view, great white sand. When the human factor sets in, they are lost. While check in I mentioned the lizard poo in the bathroom, I got a big smile and cleaned it myself 2 hours later. Many painting and glass spots all over the room. No phone to call front office. The dropping plate in the fridge was black overflowing with ice. No hot shower, only cold water available. The 24/7 reception closed at 22pm, but I could wake up the guy in the hammock. No ashtray provided. Dirty cutlery and glass at the very basic breakfast buffet. Staff was always friendly and smiling But simply lacking of knowledge about what they are doing. So, all in all worth the money because of the special efforts to bring supply to and get waste off the island. But lots lots to improve to make the stay fully enjoyable. With European management this might be achievable. A good place to enjoy the tropical island feeling!
It was a wonderful stay and filling breakfast. Very good support on what to do on the island and organizing. I felt very taken care of and will be back. Thank you again :)
Best place to relax
The staff make this place work ,very good bunch of people who work to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you want quiet and to relax this is the place for you. Our only complaint would be the food too much salt used on many occasions and not available between 1 and 4 in the afternoon. The bar area is not a socialising area so you have to go down the beach to enjoy that side of things.Right next door at the one resort we found good food but not cheap but then you are on an Island! Go left and after a fair walk you will find mini mart and a few good places to eat and drink and party. Take a torch or be prepared to use your phone when walking on the beach at night. This hotel is beautifully lit at night very romantic.
The resort was beautiful and the room was very comfortable. For the price that we paid, the breakfast buffet was not impressive. The spread consisted of tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, water, bacon, sausages, fried rice, fried noodles, bread, egg station and rice porridge with condiments. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10am but if you arrive after 9am, you might find the food cold and in even smaller amounts. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but didn't enjoy the breakfast.
Highly recommended! Good experience to stay inside the dome. Don't forget to bring food due to quiet place and limited restaurant. Peaceful and I like it!
The resort is stunning
“Absolute banger of a resort”
Staff were extremely happy to help and friendly. This location is away from all the other hotels so its not crowded and you have the beach to yourself. However, due to this enjoyment of isolation, you are also a bit further from the restaurants from other hotels that offer better value for your money. Still would recommend this place!
