Niseko hotels & places to stay

According to our kids: "One of the best vacations". Niseko is around 3 hours bus ride from Chitose Airport, but it's worth the travel. I personally like the area which is away from the usual crowded city life. In Niseko, we connected with nature and I can't get enough of the beauty of Mt. Yotei, its cap is still covered with snow. She is so beautiful. It's off ski season and most of the resorts are closed, but luckily Grand Hirafu Ski Resort was open. We had a great family time. The kids learned to ski, thanks to our instructor who patiently taught first timers like us. Free scheduled shuttle is also available for hotel guests who would like to explore Niseko. Don't miss to drop by the Milk Kobo, just a 3 minutes shuttle ride form the hotel, they offer the best tasting cheese cake, ice cream and cream puffs. We also enjoyed The Village which is located beside the hotel. Food was great and the scenery was incomparable. Hotel staffs were very accommodating to our requests and questions. They offered nice breakfast but choices were limited. We ate mostly the same line up for 3 days. Our room, which was at the top floor, was small compared to other hotels we stayed, but it was clean and the view was amazing. I hope we can go back in one of our future vacations and truly enjoy the white season.

We stayed in the Green Leaf for 7 nights this January 2018 and it was our return trip from last year too. We came back to stay because the location is excellent for ski in and ski out! Especially, the resort is located in (Niseko Village) 1 of the 4 ski resorts in the entire Niseko which is relatively quiet and good for beginners practicing on mellow slopes. We didn't have to worry bringing too many things to hit the slopes, the lockers room and ski rental are just right there! The facilitates are new comparing with the other ski resorts. The downside is there have limited choice of food in Niseko Village, you can only eat at the Green leaf (1 buffer bar only) or at Hilton Hotel (more choices yet expensive). However, if you are more experienced skiers, you can take gondola at Hilton, it will send you all the way up to the mountain and then either ski to Hirafu or Annupuri. For less experienced skiers, you can just take the shuttle bus which is reliable!

Very, very impressive!!! Everything you need and want is right here at this hotel. They have a locker room for all your snow gear. Once you're all geared up, you walk out the back of the hotel and ski right on down into your choice of either ski lifts at Annupuri. From then on, the mountain is yours :) You can access the neighboring Niseko Village and/or Hirafu by going across the top of the mountains, or you can also take the shuttle bus (which is FREE, with an All-Niseko Mountain Pass), although the shuttle bus route will be less exciting, understandably. After a long day of hitting the snow, you can come back to some good restaurants, a lovely onsen, and even an in-room massage. Staff are top notch - attentive and very helpful. Only concern was that the toilet in my room was small and cramped - but no problem for solo traveler. Other than that, it was a great stay, to say the least :) thoroughly pleased

Room - Western style apartment with Yotei view. Great room, it was spacious and well designed. We had a separate bedroom and common space, where the latter one of our friends stayed in (the couch was made into a bed). Staff - The staff was one of the best aspect of our stay. They were very friendly and helpful, especially Nao. Housekeeping - The housekeeping is probably something they could improve on - they do a thorough clean of the room every 3 days, changing your sheets and vacuuming. They do come in every day to collect your rubbish and change your towels (if you place them in the bathtub). The towels however I noticed were not so clean; occasionally they had some spots and hair. Shuttle - The shuttle service was good, the staff were helpful. We did wish though that the shuttle ran every 30 min instead of 1 hr. Food - The food was great! The breakfast is a continental breakfast (eggs on request). The lunch and dinner was one of the best in Niseko. THANK YOU NEST AT THE TREES!

It was really an amazing travel. I only have two days to book flight and hotel when I got my total one week vacation. There is no any information and I never been Niseko, so I just find this hotel close to Annupuri ski area. Hotel extremely new and clean, they wait me when I arrive very late 10PM and help me everything. Free drinks, coffee, good room air condition, of course a very delicious Japanese style breakfast. Bus station Fujiyama just one minute by walk, I can take bus to any ski area and hot springs resort. Everyone in this total is very kind and they all can speak English. I finally stay this hotel 6 nights and appreciate they send me to Niseko station in final day morning to take train to Sapporo. It’s definitely a hotel over your expectations, don’t hesitate to make your reservations. I will absolutely come again for winter ski season.

I had a lovely first time in Niseko, thanks to Milky House. The place was cozy, clean and beautifully maintained — a home away from home. The location is fantastic, a mere 3min walk to the Annupuri Ski Area. No commercial establishments nearby like Hirafu, so it’s very quiet. My room was spacious - twin room, good enough for three people - had TV, fridge, lots of hangers, a full body mirror and several electric outlets to charge my gadgets. The staff was helpful, welcoming and friendly - someone was waiting for me even though I arrived past midnight already! And they can drive you to your destination within the ski resorts area (for free if very close, or equal to the bus fare if a little far) - just ask nicely. The food was delicious - breakfast and dinner were amazing (dinner comes at an additional discounted fee)! It was a perfect mix of Hokkaido and foreign flavors. They even have homemade bread. Common areas and facilities were kept clean. Toilet and shower area are shared, separate for ladies and gentlemen. Milky House can also arrange or recommend ski/snowboard rental and lessons if you need it. If you are looking for a homey place to stay,with a warm, tranquil atmosphere and 5-star service, then Milky House is the perfect choice. Arigatou Gozaimasu Milky House for such a wonderful Niseko winter experience!

The hotel is very nice and clean, Japanese homey feeling and private. The hosts are very nice and kind, he picked us up from JR Niseko Station, also helped us plan the trip, dropped off at ski area (not that far, just 5-15 mins drive). Dinner and breakfast is home-cooked by his wife and it's very delicious! The hotel room is large fully equipped with a large window showing a beautiful view. There're also an onsen, where you can book your private time, and a smart massage chair. Highly recommend; we love everything there and we'll definitely go back again!

Walking distance to Annupuri and to the Niseko shuttle, the Annupuri Oasis Lodge was both great value for money but more importantly a welcoming and comfortable place to be based for a week of snowboarding Niseko United and Moiwa. Alan and Janine could not have been better hosts/lodge managers - with tons of local knowledge and recommendations, and just great conversation and hosting. I hope to stay here again next year!

We went for snowboarding Niseko and caught this nice cottage. The cottage is lovely and clean, with nice living space on the ground floor and you sleep in the loft with tatami. You can party all night in the private cottage without disturbing other guests. The host is super nice and attentive. When we were there everything is covered with snow, and there's a lookout next to the cottage where you can have a nice view of the lucky mountain in Niseko in good weather. The peaceful cottage not close to anything, but we went with a rented car so there's not a problem for us. I prefer the peacefulness of the cottage as the Hirafu area was too busy, driving to Hirafu and Annupuri are around 15 mins so that's not too bad. There's a convenient store 5 mins drive away so if you failed to get stuff in the Hirafu area you can still buy some stuff there (the shelves of many supermarket and convenient stores are all cleared and empty by the time you finish your dinner). Host is nice and helpful too! If I go Niseko again the cottage will surely be on my booking list!

We wanted to stay on the more "traditional" side of Niseko, and this hotel was easy to find and book. We were not sure what is was going to be like, but it's great. June and her family are warm and accommodating. Western influenced breakfasts are huge. Dinners reflect time spent in the resorts of Austria. My wife and I love to dine and the food here was tops, with many non-guests packing out the restaurant. Good ski/drying area, comfortable decent sized Japanese rooms, traditional bath/shower only draw back is it is down a flight of stairs. 50 meter walk to lifts and on days it was snowing (every day) we skied to the front door. Good spot we'll be back.

The hosts are a wonderful retired couple who speak sufficient English. They were very friendly and hospitable, and very willing to drive us where we needed. Besides sending us to Grand Hirafu and Annapuri ski resorts in the morning, they also drove us to a onsen spa nearby every night, for which we got free tickets to as there is no shower in the cabin. The cabin is spacious and heated by a wood stove that provides more than enough heat, but also requires some work to get started. There were many maps and brochures on the table, next to a well equipped kitchen. Definitely a great experience in Niseko! とても親切なホストです！コテージは綺麗で、暖かくて、本当に素敵です！是非戻りたいです！

The location of Bistane Kana is very good, a few minutes away from Niseko Annapuri, there are several options around to dine and experience onsens. The owners are nice and helpful, they helped us to deal with ski rental and book the ski passes at discount price. They provides us with a lot of advices on the area and activities. The food is very good. This accommodation is expensive but it's the same for all guesthouse in Niseko area.

We had a lovely 6 night stay at the Cotton Farm. Takeshi and Naoko are kind and go above and beyond for their guests. Getting to meet them and their parents were one of our favourite parts of staying in Niseko (plus excellent skiing ofcourse!) The pension is walking distance to the Annupuri Gondola and we made it to the slopes early each morning. Niseko is so tourist driven that at times you don't even feel like you are in Japan, but at the Cotton Farm we were able to practice our Japanese phrases and learn more about the area. We give the Cotton Farm our highest recommendation and wish Takeshi and Naoko all the best!

Very nice lovely house with 3 separated big rooms, 2 showering rooms, 3 restrooms and a huge, warm living room with a cute furnace. The house rental includes a 6-seats van. It helps us to go to all 4 ski areas freely and conveniently. Cleaning is done carefully. All kinds of functioning perfectly electrical appliances are ready in the house, including those you've seen and you've never seen before. All kinds of catering sets. The entrance floor is heated so it's easy to dry out our equipments. Very nice experience there. Thanks for Fujimi sama who took care of us. See you later :)

Our family of 3 spent 6 days at The Soga Forest Hideaway over the past Easter break, and we could not have asked for a better accommodation choice. The chalet fit our needs perfectly. It was neat and tidy, and had all the amenities you would ever need. The location was extremely quiet and tranquil, yet only a short distance away from the ski slopes, restaurants and shops. Highly recommended!
