Find hotels near North - Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City, Mexico

when i travel to mexico city, i always stay at the monaco. it is a gem of a hotel with quality you would expect at a higher price. it is near the alameda and walking distance from the zocalo and the central historical district. the in-house restaurant is good and the waiters attentive. one indication of the quality is that i have only ever seen mexicans in the restaurant- always a good sign when the locals eat there. that being said, the single rooms (i ended up staying in a deluxe room) are small and airless. they need to remodel these. the larger rooms are grand, though- spacious, good light and nice beds. the monaco is lovely and i will be staying there again next week- and next year.

The room is great. The location is perfect, simple one buss ride to Roma or city center. Restaurant nearby. Perfectly safe. The staff are super nice as well. However the walls are like paper thin and I don’t know but the other guests were sooo inappropriate. They would open their doors at the middle of the night and then continue to have loud conversations with music across rooms. Guest changes every other day however I don’t know why this behaviour never stopped. To top it off the night time attended would do the same thing at 3am onwards. Slam things, play loud noise beebs. Speak soo loudly that I could hear him all the way to the room. He was talking to somebody but I don’t know why the volume was louder than screaming. I couldn’t sleep the whole night thanks to him and I’m sure neither could the rest of the floor rooms. Very strange guests and night time attendant. I would not recommend staying here. Could not sleep all three nights

When we arrived a the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Vallejo, Mexico City, THERE WAS NO ROOM for the three of us. they told us to go to the Marriott Courtyard which is more expensive. I will NEVER recomemnd Fairfield Inn andf Suites even to people I do not like. It could could be a night mare being in another country and trying to look for aplace to stay despite the reservations amde in Onctober 2017.

Couldn't believe we could get a place this good in a capital city for this price. Huge room with king sized bed, nice bathroom, toiletries, cable TV, Wifi. Location was OK - about 15 minutes walk from the Metro with bags and closer to the Metrobus and local buses. Good cheap eating options nearby - if you feel like a change from Mexican food try the creperie across the road and 1 block South

Although not in the 'tourist' centre of Mexico City, this hotel is well located close to buses and metro and was extremely quiet - a treat in a very busy city. It is also in easy walking distance of many 'sights', museums, markets and the historical centre of Mexico. The staff certainly made this visit memorable. They were very helpful, keen to assist and made you feel part of the 'family'. As a sole traveller, I felt safe. I also felt that if something happened to me, the hotel staff would notice and/or be prepared to assist. The dining room also provided a really good introduction to Mexican food, a great assistance to then sampling from the street traders.

Had a room on the 4th floor with private bath, double bed, desk and chair and a flat screen tv with about 15 Mexican channels. Standard bathroom with a hot shower. Carpet in the room was a little grungy, only bad thing about the room did not like. My room faced the street, it was noisy, but keep in mind everywhere is noisy in mexico. I have spent some time in Mexico and have yet to find a peaceful and serene neighborhood. There is some working girls in the area, did not bother me. Felt safe at all hours coming and going from the hotel. Got a really good location, hildago metro station less than 5 min away its a 2 line station and the opposite way is Revolution station which is a metro and a two line metro bus station as well. About a 5 min walk to the Plaza of the Revolution all of historic centro is reachable by foot easily. Lots of cheap food around every direction, there was a pop up market on Wednesdays close to the Hotel tons of fruit and tasty food stalls.
