North Male Atoll hotels & places to stay

The hotel is near Male city and airport, 15 min speed boat drive. The hotel decoration is nice and very new and clean. But the check it process is quite long coz they have to wait for the buggy. Seem like they don't have enough of this buggy so if you stay in beach front villa you'd better walk to your room. For beach front villa, you can walk from your room to the beach. It's just right there at your back door. The house reef is very nice. I saw many of new born reef so I guess this place will be very nice for snorkeling in next couple year. The room is clean and big. you will got 2 free bottle of water per day so no need to bring any from the main land. One thing I would like they to improve is their coffee. They use just a simple instance coffee which I expect they can do better for this class of hotel. The food is nice and variety, you have 4 restaurant to eat, some require advance booking. You also got 3 bars for drink. Every 17:00 they will show you shark feeding in front of the bar, don't miss it. For out door activity, you can borrow any non motor sport equipment for free, include mask and fin, Kayak.

1. The location of Meeru is in North Male Atoll which is 50 min. by speedboat provided by Meeru ISLAND Resort & Spa ( Additional charge for transports which was $160/ person_it was unexpected expenses for us) and had beautiful lagoon. 2. Many activities available in the resort. (Scuba diving, Wind Surfing, Canoeing) 3. We booked full board and the buffet was amazing and so nice having lots of selections and varieties.

Great resort that is 20' speedboat ride from Male. I think it has a good balance between being accessible and far enough away from Male. It is also pretty cost effective compared to most islands, as you do not have to buy a seaplane transfer. The all inclusive package is great value for food and drinks, we got our monies worth. Of not location gets 4 stars because if you buy any lagoon view, you will be forced to look at another island construction site with excavators in your background. You shouldn't pay $1k a night and get excavators in the background. Best snorkeling and view by far is from the pool villas in the Oceanside view on the the short jetty. Food was excellent as were the drinks, menus are varied enough you won't get board. Service was immaculate. Chris the manager did a great job fixing issues during our stay, originally had a lagoon room, he switched our room for us based on our issues with the view.

I traveled with a friend to the Paradise Island & It was honestly one of the best experience I’ve had at a resor/hotel. The service was splendid & you would get assisted at almost anytime. The breakfast was so delicious with a variety of everything and tasty fruits. They had several activities for an affordable price & you also get to rent a bike for 5$ a day, which I totally recommend, it’s a great way to explore the island and it’s great amenities. It was my friends birthday so they arranged a dinner table for us, & brought in a bottle of champagne & cake, we loved it. Everyone was so kind and always making sure we were alright. I wanna thank you Ibad for helping me out on the day of my checkout and sharing tips of locations and places I should visit in Male city and he really took the time to make sure that I arrived safely and that I would ask if I had any questions. I felt safe from the airport to the island resort and all the way back. I will definitely be back on this island.

The best part about the resort was the location and its value for money. Most of the resorts are expensive in South Male Atoll but Bandos wasnt that expensive. Loved it. The resort is beautiful, rooms are really nice, staff is amazing. Beaches are right next to the rooms which is a plus. The staff is really helpful in terms of picking up and dropping at the airport with all the proper communication before hand. Highly recommend.

A great hotel located approx. 25 min by a speed-boat off the Male Int'l airport with a great beach. What I liked most was the different types of clients who were staying there - newly-weds, friends of newly-weds couples, middle-aged couples, single travelers, retired people coming from anywhere in the world - East Asia, the Subcontinent, the Maldives, Western Europe and the North America. Reef is OK to snorkel and is one of the best compared to Baros and Paradise Island.

Only a 15 minute boat ride from the Male airport island, directly on the beach, with a water view, beautiful white sand beaches, lush greenery, handsomely decorated rooms and suites, mouth-watering menus, spa, gym, water sports and excursions. Malahini Resort is the only place on the island. Our room and the resort were true to the website photographs. Whereever we ate we knew we would be basking in the stars and moonlight and listening to the sounds of the ocean waves at our feet. The staff are Malahini's best asset! We fell in love with the people who cared for us and are so grateful to them. Amdad (who made our omlettes each morning), Senthil, Nakki, Shawn and Sagan and the gentlemen at the Bluu. Had exceptional massages at the spa. Connected with Saif and staffmates who are also musicians. Enjoyed learning about Maldivian music, and jamming on classic rock tunes. good: 8mins boat to resort, save a lot of time waiting at airport, room rate not that expensive compared to other resorts in north male atoll, room quite modern and bed super comfortable by slumberland, breakfast acceptable., nice staff, low 5 star resort overall Bad: some rooms, villa especially those close to boat pier has poor and.limited beach assess and not able to swim right in front of so called beach front villa.and president villa, so do not book president villa, you cannot swim right in front of villa. Overall beach area is not large and only little live coral under the water and few fishes. Too close to male city and other islands, no good view. Also under the flight path, can be noisy when u sit at the beach.

It was excellent through out my short stay at the ocean villa. Our porter Dedak was professional. The food for all inclusive package is good enough, although it is buffet for lunch and dinner, but the food provided were changing everyday, you still have plenty of different restaurant to choose if you don't want to have buffet. Access to the resort with around 25 mins of speedboat, and the transfer run smoothly. We were at the hotel booth E2 at Male Airport around 9:00am, and we started our boat transfer around 9:45am, and we don't need to wait until 2pm to have the room. Checking out at 12pm and transferring speedboat was at 1:30pm, a little wait but acceptable. Overall scored 8/10.

Just choose Huvafen Fushi, if you want to enjoy 5 star treatment. We choose the ocean view over water villa and you won’t regret for sure. The view is amazing, the pool is great, the jacuzzi is huge and the room is spacious and feels like home. Our butler, nine two just take care everything for us. He is the sweetest and caring guy ever. He helped me to prepare a special cake to surprise my fiancée as it was our anniversary trip. Everyday, he would recommend us what to do, which restaurant to go for dinner, pick us up to anywhere at the resort and always 24 hours standby for us if we need anything. The island is definitely amazing with all sorts of stuffs to do. Their infinity pool is the best, and u get to play 8-ball pool, do some reading and ps4. You can head to their underwear spa which the only one spa in the world to enjoy the underwater view while you having a massage. In the evening, you get to feed and play with the stingray beside the beach. There are 10 of them to play with! Their Japanese restaurant, feeling koi has the best and fresh seafood platter. We went their for dinner and their staffs and chef are just so friendly. Celsius has the best view and we have our breakfast and also dinner theory. The Selections of the menu are so many to choose from. Room service menu are great as well. I have no complain at all for the food at Huvafen. Their food are 5 star quality. Just choose Huvafen Fushi and I guarantee you can just relax and enjoy the holiday knowing you are in the good hand of the people at Huvafen Fushi.

It was one of the best experience for me, my husband and 14 year old daughter! The resort is all as we expected - great rooms, good choice of restaurants, friendly staff and chefs, wonderful room services (they clean and change towels twice a day), and amazing waters considering it's only 40mins from male airport to the resort by seaboat! We got to see reef sharks swimming around the resort, all kinds of fishes around the villa waters too! We caught barracuda and grouper when we went out fishing (USD40 per person) but you get to eat your catch cooked by the chef however you want it at only USD15 per head! We also got to swim with the manta Ray (they are there from Dec to April) when we went out on a boat (USD100 for 2 person for 2 hours). No hassle at all getting around on the island by the free buggies provided or slow walk to everywhere on the island! Lots of choices for water and motor sports! Many activities ranging from spa and yoga, gym facing the beautiful waters to a great DJ spinning music at the beach with laser light show, movies on the beach, BBQ on the beach and the GM hosted a happy hour with free flow of drinks one night! May be it's the year festive celebration! With the room, it comes with a eat-all-u-want buffet breakfast including champagne! Just note that the boat transfer to and from the airport is about USD100 plus tax per person per way and that's not included in the room. Food at the restaurant is also rather pricy, averaging USD50 per head without alcohol. I will highly recommend anyone to this resort!

It was amazing, will come again in the future. I made a bet with my wife on which resort will be the better one. See picked one of the nice resort on North Male, it was also a great place dont get me wrong. But staying at the Baros really meet our mission. Highly recommend for honeymooners, gotta have to try to have lunch, dinner at the sand bank or the platform to enjoy the sunset. Enjoying the sunset at Baros was really an unforgatable moment for me and for my wife.

I've stayed three times at Ihuru and come back for the convenience (just a boat ride from Male) and the diving. The house reef is excellent for both snorkelers and divers. My son and I saw sharks, rays, octopus, anemone fish and more while snorkeling. The diving is even better with moray eels, parrot fish, guitar fish, garden eels...too many highlights to name. The staff at Ihuru took such good care of my son, particularly Asim at the restaurant. Also, Nico is the best dive guide with sniper eyes and able to show you everything from the smallest shrimp to the biggest sharks, tuna, and manta rays. Make sure you book with Nico for a night dive - an unforgettable experience. The resort is quiet, so don't go for night life, wifi in the rooms is good and room service quick. Highly recommended and looking forward to going back.

Our bungalow was right on the beach with an incredible house coral reef less than 50 m from the shore. The resident manager (S. Blackett) greeted us upon our arrival to the island; a warm and welcoming greeting. We were well taken care of at every step along the way. Check in and check out was a breeze. We did the half board which included an amazing wide variety buffet breakfast served daily and a four star five course dinner served every night. Makunudu is one hour ahead of the main island time of Male so plan accordingly. We did the complimentary Snorkel Discovery. The snorkel discovery trip was about a 15 minute boat ride from the island and the snorkelling lasted well over one hour. It was so worth it. The complimentary dive lesson from the Dive Center was provided in the main lagoon area(Claudia from Belgium, what a kind woman, she was amazing). So glad I tried it. Also, we did the complimentary Night Fishing Excursion and yes, my wife landed two red snappers out of the four fish caught that night. Another trip well worth taking is the Manta Ray Excursion, only 20USD per person. The boat ride was about 45 minutes from the island. We were able to see and swim with three giant manta rays for over an hour; it was a first in my life and not soon to be forgotten. I estimated the wing span of the mantas to be approximately 3 to 3.5 m. The massage therapy specialists were so gentle, amazing and kind. Quite frankly, I have had a lot of massages over the years and these two ladies were by far the best massage specialists I have experienced. We truly enjoyed their hospitality and professionalism. One last thing. The resort is really practicing a sustainable approach to all that they do. They truly get it and have established protocol to help keep the island operations running as sustainable as possible. And last but not least, the access to nature is unparalleled at Makunudu Island. We will be back to Makunudu and hope to make it a yearly stop.

We stayed at hudurunfushi for a week and it was the best place for a honeymoon. As soon as we reached Male we went to the Adaaran stall in the airport where we were told to wait for 20 mins for our speed boat to arrive. The people there had our names listed in thier chart. Once onto the boat it was a 25 min ride to our resort. At the resort we were greeted by mr Kafi who took us to the reception where we were seated and given towels to refresh.after few formalties with our booking we were given room no 114. We got freshed up and then went to look around the hotel. People there were very nice and kept smiling and greeting us. Hospitality was really good. First two days we rented snorkelling kit for 7$ a piece and spent time snorkelling. Marine life was great to watch closely. We saw numerous fishes by the shore. When we saw the beach villaz around room no 200 we were amazed by that location it had a better view and a better beach. So we asked for a change in room and our request was fullfilled. We were allocated room no 194. We had a free trial diving which was offered by the resort. People going to the resort be adviced to lOok for the boards near the reception for various activities happening at the resort. We then upgraded to a ocean villa which costed us .to our surprise they offered two days for the price of one. So we gotone day free in beach villa. Ocean villas are amazing. We got a wine bottle on the house. Overall an amazing experience. Adaaran select hudurunfushi rocks. It was worth the money and i would recommend people to go to this beautiful place in maldives.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Oblu Select and it was amazing. We chose to go during the 'off season' (July 2019) for 10 nights. We stayed 5 nights in the honeymoon suite and 5 nights in the beach suite with pool. If you can afford it I highly recommend the honeymoon suite, even if its not your honeymoon! You get so much extra stuff that its well worth the money. In the honeymoon suite you get access to a private butler, access to the the 2 premium restaurants on the island (which are 3 or 4 course meal restaurants), and check-in directly in the suite when you arrive at the island, and so much more! Me and my wife love the water, so we snorkeling all around the island and went on several of the excursions throughout our stay. We also tried scuba diving on the island reef. The normal restaurant on the island is buffet style, so if you don't like that, you probably won't like Oblu Select. Booking with agoda saved us 15-20% and allowed us to stay 1-2 more nights!

Location : The resort a hop away by speedboat from the airport (approx 30mins) which is quite painless as there are resorts where you need to travel for hours by speedboat unless you are willing to fork out for sea planes. Return airport transfer can be arranged with the resort. The island of Huraa has a local village located approx 500m from the resort. They have some mini marts which sells food, drinks & general stuff eg. sunblock, flip flops etc, the are a few souvenier shops too. It is kinda interesting to explore the village. It is small enough to explore by foot over a span of say 3 hours. Just make sure you check the shops' opening and closing hours as most are closed during prayer hours. Resort : The resort is private so beachwear can be worn. It also has its own private beach. All rooms are around 10 to 15 steps from the beach so it is really convenient. WiFi is free at the resort. You can also get WiFi in the room. Just get your username & password from the Reception. Room : Air-con, ceiling fan, TV, water kettle, towels, mini safe, wardrobe, side tables, dressing table, luggage area. For me, the real nice surprises are the bathrobes, complimentary cable TV with loads of channels and super super comfortable beds and pillows which would match most 5 star hotels. Rooms are non-smoking but all room has its own deck where you can smoke. Bathroom : Now, this is the interesting one. There are TWO shower cubicles & TWO wash basins! The best is that one of the shower is open air so that's kinda cool. This is luxurious for a local island. Plenty of amenities are provided, soap, shampoo, shaver etc. You don't have to bring any, if you are not fussy with the type of shampoo or bath gel that you use. Activities : Maldives is really about the sun, sand and sea. The resort has its dive centre, water sports centre and a spa. They offer a pretty big range of activities if you do not want to just laze around on the beach. Service : The staff are really really good.

First of all, we went to Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru Resort for our honeymoon trip. We never wanted package products from many other OTAs, we had researched very long time about Maldives before we went there. So please refer the information below from the perspective which is arranging every single procedure by yourself. Choose Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru Resort (BTV) for people who want, 1. Short distance from Male Int., Airport. It is a monopoly structure for local transportation in Maldives. It is a huge burden if you have to arrange another local flight to your resort. Especially if your flight is landing in Male at night, you have to waste your precious one night of time near the airport. It differs to everyone, but we did not want to do that. 20-25mins by speedboat from Male Int., Airport. What you need to do is pay the pick-up + send-off amount when you checkout. Actual amount will be differed according to seasons. Check with person in charge, they do reply very quickly when you write an email. 2. Water villa, but also beach front villa. It is a little tricky and you may need a little of luck to get a good room. We were looking for water villa (talking about floating like villa on the see,) all the time, but we decided BTV in the end because we noticed BTV has pavilion in the front of Beach Pool Villa type of room. Though the villa is located along with the beach, three-four of those villas have pavilion on the see surface. We did not get one of those even though front desk accepted our request because even the pavilion is not ON the see, it has its feeling when it comes to rising tide. 3. To enjoy lagoon and reef environment easily. First of all, BTV is more like a typical lagoon oriented environment. It has wide range of lagoon all around the island. But some people are tired of snorkeling lagoon too long. Then you have alternative option to visit neighbor Ihuru Island where only takes 3mins by boat. imagine to my disappointment when i get off the boat and get presented with a memo explaining that because i haven't booked my hotel through atoll adventures that i couldn't surf.not one thing is on either agoda's website or chaaya dhonveli's about this fact. the staff there were happy to explain that if i paid they would be happy to let me surf. when i reluctantly agreed i was only to be stung again saying that it was a daily rate.talk about being over a barrel. i would have booked somewhere else knowing this prior to booking. all that said it still is a lovely place and they island is beautiful and the staff helpful and friendly. i just wish they could post that surfing is not included or has a hefty surcharge assosciated with it. conversely put a link to atoll adventures on there so that you can book through them without any of the confusion that i endured.

Sheraton made my Honeymoon and Birthday celebrations memorably sweet. Location and property were absolutely amazin. We were glad we booked the water villa with pool as it is an experience we will always cherish. Staff during our stay were professional, reliable and friendly. We enjoyed the snorkeling safari and Male city tour through Sheraton. We booked Snorkeling safari with Extreme Maldives and were happy beyond expectations. We went to 2 reefs by speedboat where we saw fishes of all colors and plenty of water life. Olga, support staff conducted a training session and assisted my husband sensing his apprehensions in the water. The second point was Stingray reef and Mango was able to stir 4 gigantic stingrays as they are mostly at the bottom of the ocean covered by schools of fish. They were experts, just as Sheraton are at making occasions special and precious with wine, champagne and cake.

Everyone in Crown Beach Hotel Maldives was very friendly and the manager was the best, he could solve the problems very professional and smart. We were very happy and had a lot of best memories in our lives. The activities and excursions were very cheaper. We went to stay at Meeru Resort and spa one night, the manager (Crown Beach) set and took us there by his small boat, but it was safe and cheaper than the transfer of Meeru Resort. Crown Beach is very close to Meeru Resort and we recommended you to visit Meeru, too and came back to be very clam at Crown Beach. For Sexy Sand Bank was the best excursion that you should go. For the local ferry from Male is 22 local currency per one, but from 12.30 - 15.30 pm and return from 6.30 - 10.00 am with breakfast pack from them very kindly. Thank you for everyone at Crown Beach. We celebrated and got the best memories in 2017. Don't forget to take the wedding dress and suit. Thanks a lot.

TLDR: Great food. Kind local folk. Helpful Staff. Activities a plenty. Transportation's a wiz. Memorable! I would def visit this hotel (the only tall 5 story hotel in all the atolls in Maldives! The only rooftop infinity pool with a well-equipped gym overlooking the ocean! Everything was right about this place- having both the experience of the local island as well as the tourist spots! For a tiny island of 700 x 400 meters, its so well maintained and organised- they have their own govt official buildings too! And there's so much to do! The staff were excellent and went the extra mile to help us with everything as well as accomodate their diving/water sports packages to suit our needs. Rooms are large and adequate and the views are magnificent. My only tiniest disappointment was since its a local island there is no sale of alcohol. But not at all a problem when they make excellent fresh fruit juices to sip on while you bask in the glory of private beaches & views.

Himmafushi has a village population of about 1000 people. The locals are very friendly always greeting you when walking by. Raalhu Lodge is just 10 minutes walk from a great surf spot called Jailbreak. Its a fast right hand reef break. Gets crowded in the Monsoon season from April - October. Take reef shoes to get across the reef to the break. You can rent boards there. Shifau is a great host who is passionate about surfing and is extremely helpful and accomodating. He has a small speedboat so he can take you to other good surf spots like Honkys(left break) and Sultans(right break). Another excellent left break nearby is Pasta point but this is exclusive to the resort nearby, You can also go on a snorkeling trip with Shifau or do a bit of night fishing. The Lodge has aircon, wi-fi and cable tv, is clean, neat and tidy. They serve a choice of American,Continental and Maldivian breakfast. You can order meals from 1 of 3 restaurants. I was spoilt being hosted by Shifau's family during Ramadan. His mom is a great cook. So wax up and get down to Raalhu Lodge.Surfs up.

MLet’s start with the service as this is one of the most important things about a guest house. Every single one of the staff members, goes over and beyond of what is required of them to make you feel comfortable. From the time they welcome you at the dock to the time they wave good-bye. They are more than happy to accommodate you for example: The day we were leaving the sea was too rough for the ferry (got cancelled), all other guests on the island had to hire their own speed boats, however Ibrahim and his team quick span up a deal with a local speed boat owner to get us and the other guests to their final destinations at a much cheaper rate. Accommodation: this is the epitome of attention to detail (they took note that it was our anniversary), the room was beautifully decorated. The deco (handpicked flowers placed around the room on our arrival) of the room is subtle and classy, extremely clean and up to all standards. Tip: if you are wanting a balcony and for more privacy, try see if you can arrange for a room on the second floor. Food: Every dish we tried was excellent. What we really enjoyed about this guest house is the variety of options when booking full board. Depending on breakfast, lunch or dinner we were able to pre-select what we were wanting for the following meal. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic (local options). I would highly recommend that you try their Roshi dishes (I personally couldn’t get enough of it and currently craving it right now). For full board, they will serve you complimentary water, juice your selected meal and a side dish such as a salad or soup. Location: the guest house was within 30 second walk to the beach where one can snorkel. The beach that was most closely located to this guest house was beautiful and clean. We had an amazing time in Rashu hiyaa, the room we booked, double superior deluxe was simply the best we could ask for on our honeymoon. The people there were so welcoming, housekeeping was always on point as if we're checking in into a new room each day. The buffet breakfast and dinner was just appropriate for an island vacation. Not forgetting to mention, Shafiq and Poonam and also some of the rest, made sure we had the most amazing time there. Our dolphin cruise guide was also very helpful and ensured us to see the best view of dolphins although the sea was rough. We'd definitely recommend this hotel to all couples who wish to have an island vacation with the best facilities.

Our stay was fantastic already wanting to go back. The staff are extremely welcoming and are always there to help you and cater to your needs, the place has a very homey vibe and the staff are extremely comforting. The food, service and presentation of the food is 5 star, there is a variety of food to choose from at every meal always cooked to perfection. This is a great place to stay and I would highly recommend to stay there
