Oudom sambath stay”
excellent stay. The hotel was conveniently located and rooms were comfortable and quiet. We were on the 3rd floor but staff carried our luggage up to the room. The view from the 3rd floor was wonderful where there was a large shared balcony area.It was an easy walk to the centre, the market, and restaurants. Staff were very helpful with transport from Kratie and with writing hotel directions in Kymer.

Simple, central and comfortable.”
The Oudom Sambath was a nice, quiet place to stay at. Relavitely clean with a great view of the river. Not sure if it was just our room, but the pillows we got were incredibly hard. Other than that, nothing to complain about.

good location on Riverfront.”
on arrival i was dissapointed to find the room i booked and paid for online to agoda was not honoured. the manager was apologetice explaining there had been a few situations of none receipt of payment despite customer paying. manager informed he does not take booking with agoda anymore so be mindful of this until agoda tell you otherwise. i paid for my room again the manager stated he will hapily discuss with agoda that i paid twice and provided me with receipt to reclaim. hotel room was on top floor. although a spacious room with adequate facilities it was not to my liking but for one night not a problem a bonus is the seating overlooking the river which can be enjoyed from the top floor. if you struggle with stairs check if lower floor available as there is no lift in situ. the manager was very helpful booked my tuk tuk river and onward bus ticket no bother.

Ok hotel, good tour.”
Mostly fine, apart from the hotel's tuk tuk driver constantly trying to sell more (despite already slightly over priced tour). Seeing the dolphins was amazing however, and the villages we past on the way are probably the most authentic we've seen. There is nothing much in Kratie itself, so there is not a lot of point traveling that far unless to see the dolphins. If you do come to see the dolphins, this hotel is fine!

SCAM - Be Very Very Careful!!!! ”
For just a night or two for the price the hotel is okay. There is no elavator only a massive set of stairs, the only thing I can say "good" about the staff is they do carry your luggage up to your room upon arrival. The room is dark and very basic, there is hot water... but, the trick is you have to turn it on which is could be confusing for people not use to an Asian style system. The only upside to the hotel is the view of the river and the sunset. The down side is.... The staff are rude and make you feel unwanted, even simply trying to buy drinks from their little store is a hassle they literally roll their eyes at you. Don't even bother eating there... they have great restaurants down the street with friendly staff and great prices! Most important!!!! Whatch out for the owner and his son.... They will scam you for your money!!!! They try and sell you tours double what it cost down the street and if you pay cash at the hotel make sure to get receipts!!! I paid in cash and they charged me even more on my credit card and when I tried to contact the hotel they hung up on me. All in All there are better places to stay! It's not worth the extra bit of cash you save.... I obviously would not recommend this place or stay there again!!!! 😡😡😡😡

one of the better hotels at the riverside”
Comfortable hotel, but not good finished or/and not good mantained. In the first room that I had, the bathtub didn't have any taps so it was there only for decoration! The shower was at the opposite wall. In that room there was only one light (fluorescent lamp) and that was a very noisy. In my second room there was also only one lamp was working. The internet connection in the rooms is weak and unstable. For trips, excursions and bustickets you go better to the streets around the market where they are much cheaper than in the hotel.

Limited English-speaking staff, noisy.”
I wouldn't stay there again. My first room was over the kitchen, which started making noise around 6 AM. Moved to another room, awakened mornings by loudspeaker broadcasts of chanting which started at 5 AM. It's located several long and dark blocks from where the markets, bike rental places, and transport hubs are. If you stay there, insist on a room facing the river, the best being on the fourth (top) floor; those are great, with river views. Almost two months into my trip to Thailand I was used to negotiating prices. Yet these guys take advantage of their distance from town and recent arriving tourists to charge too much. This is a poor business decision, as after the first connection to a tuk-tuk ride to the dolphin-seeing staging area, I found other ways to connect to the places I wanted to go to and the things I wanted to do.

good location, good value, will recommend”
Stayed there with my 6 and 8 year old children on a trip to see the dolphins. The hotel was well located, clean, friendly owner. Good value for low- to mid range hotel.

Beautiful balconys overlooking the Mekong River on the top floor”
You will probably be spending very little time in your room so these huge clean rooms in the centre of town seems perfect with everything within easy walking distance

Got what you paid for”
For $18 a night this was one of the best "guesthouse" style accommodation we had stayed in. The owner was a bit pushy with selling tours to us, especially the famed Irrawady dolphin. The lack of tour brochures and services in Katie was unexpected as we had heard this was the travel gateway of Cambodia, none-the-less we enjoyed our stay as we prefer to arrange things ourselves.

Kratie is great for dolphins and turtles”
We enjoyed staying at the Hotel. The tuk tuk drivers were on top of you straight away and really keen to offer a high price to show you around the area.

unpleasant staff and owner”
The service during breakfast and diner was arrogant an unpleasant. The owner tried to sell us a tour to the dolphins for twice the price which was asked for by th tuk-tuk drivers. Our trip to Laos was booked through this hotel and that was a disaster. Trip to border took 3 hours more than expected and at the border we had to pay 15$!!! each! to the guy who arranged further transport to the 4000 islands and on arrival at the ferry we had to pay for the ticket which we already payed to the hotel. So try to avoid these criminals.
