You will come for the price but stay for the vibe.”

Sachi is my favorite guesthouse in Japan I have been there twice and I have plans to go back for a third time. Is not only cheap, but the accommodations are great, either if you book a private room or a bunk bed, and the staff are as friendly as it gets. I actually didn't wanted to leave Sachi today because I felt I had everything I needed. A comfortable bed, a hot shower, a high speed wifi connection, a fully equipped kitchen with space to store my food and many nice people always going and coming to the house. Maybe that's the selling point, its actually a very peaceful place! I could focus on my studies and improved my kanji a lot. But don't be fooled, the party is around the corner (almost literally) and in Shinsekai there is always something to do. Else you can go to the nearby Namba area or wherever you want since there are multiple transportation options close by. I even got to Ise for a day trip but just walking around the streets of Tennoji and the geeki Den Den Town can be very fun. Even if you decide just to stay at the house is a great plan, the atmosphere is relaxed and there is always someone to talk with. On days I just wanted to rest I meet so many good people in Sachi. Both foreigners and Japanese, short and long term residents live in harmony and are willing to share. You might even be able to participate on the fun parties organized by the staff and the residents. Finally, I want to thank all the nice and attentive members of the staff with which I spent the most time with and to the manager who is a very caring and considerate person, a cool pianist and super good cook. I cannot wait to go back to Sachi on Spring!

Room for improvement ”

The staff could be more friendly, the property needs some maintenance and the hostel needs to be more clean, specially the kitchen. The staff should do a deep cleaning of everything at least once a week. Clean the oven inside, take everything out of the drawers to remove crumbs and clean the corners thoroughly, etc. That aside the location is good, there are some very traditional and old small stores around and you can walk to interesting places from there.

Gets the job done + more spacious than other capsules”

I just needed a place to sleep, and this place did just fine. The top bunk can creak sometimes but I'm a heavy sleeper so no problem. There wasn't any hand soap in the restroom, but there was some near the shared sink. Compared to some other capsule hotels, the bunk is quite spacious and we'll ventilated. I didn't get sweaty or feel like I needed fresh air. One weird thing was that the "blanket" seemed more like a mattress pad. It was comfortable enough so I didn't bother telling anyone, but it's a bit too hot for spring.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. There were very flexible and helpful in trying to get the price down it really felt like they want you to save as much money as you can while staying with them. The facilities are clean but well used. if you are familiar with the hostel experience nothing should surprise you. I had a fairly pleasant experience and made some friends

Beware! BED BUGS! The worst hostel I’ve ever been to in Japan”

The place is chaotic! I don’t think the staff is even cleaning the bed and changing the sheets, so gross! One of the guest even had a sever allergic reaction to the bed bug bite, you can see the swelling! I feel bad for her because it’s her first time in Japan and this Dirty hostel gave her an unpleasant welcome! The staff acts that they even don’t care. They are not hospitable and not doing their job properly. They even have this poor check in system, a lot of the guests in the morning needed to wait for hours just to be accomodated. I have stayed in cheap hostels and capsule hotels in osaka, sapporo and tokyo, and by far this is the WORST one in all of Japan! Japan is known for being clean and tidy, and this one doesn’t check all the boxes!
