Authentic Experience ”
I enjoyed my time on the Island. There are a number of home stays on the island, but this one is well located and has an English speaking host. He can arrange tickets or help you in what ever way you want because he has excellent English skills.

A lovely home with lovely hosts”
I had a super nice stay at Vireak's house for 3 nights. He and his parents were extremely welcoming and helpful. We cooked together, had small conversations in basic Khmer and they showed me around the village as well. Neighbour kids came to practice their English with me too. Vireak speaks English very well and is very respectful and kind. He drove me on a moto trip to see dolphins and took very well care of me and my needs during my stay. Food was delicious and abundant! I will definitely come back next time I am in Kratie. The island is also very relaxing. There are no cars and the bicycle ride around is a wonderful way to discover the landscape and neighborhood. 5 hours away by van of the Cambodian capital, Kaoh Trong island is a lush country land in the middle of the Mekong, perfect to have a break from the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh or other big cities in Asia. The island is accessible by ferry or boat on which you pay directly, 1000 riels (at the time I went).

The best Place in Cambodia! We can become a part of a Khmer family”
The food was amazing! They have cats, dogs, chickens.. big garden with many fruits, fruits are available all day for free :) the staff is a young guy who speaks English very well and help us with everything. He took us on motorbike to a wine palm lady and to see chicken fight. Some special piece of Khmer being. It was nice to be a part of this family! Hope to go back in future!! If you go there during the dry season you can go to a beach and cools down in Mekong (2,5$/2 person only). Highly recommend the homestay :)!

Autenthic homestay”
This place is amazing It's not touristic place(no waterfalls, temples, caves, or things like that) but it's an real opportunity to share (for a few days) a part of Cambodian family's life. You'll just enjoy the food, the fruits, one (or maybe two) good book, swim into the mekong, this very kind family, the sound of birds, the authentic life on this island and lots of other things We had booked two nights and finally we stayed five nights After 3 months traveling in South-East Asia is our favorite accommodation Come and try, you will love

The best place to learn what the real life is in Cambodia ”
I was staying 3 nights in Pomelo homestay and it was awesome! The family was super kind and friendly. I felt really special and welcomed when I was staying with them. During my stay they took me to see their fields, biking trip and horse ride around the island, floating village on a mekong river, river dolphins in Kampi and Kampi Pleasance. Also a temple called Phnom Sambok Pagoda on the way to Kampi. Everyday I was helping to cook a dinner with them and we were eating together. I also bought them a smoothie blender as a Christmas present so now you can have a smoothie with them. The place was clean and the bed was a comfy mattress with a mosquito net on the top. There was a fan over every mattress but I didn’t really need it. In Pomelo homestay I learned a lot about life in Cambodia. I also learned little bit of Khmer. Only the older son is speaking good English but it’s funny to communicate with the others without shared language. There is ferry going Kaoh Trong-Krong Kracheh and opposite everyday starting 6.30 and ending 17/18. Just go to the pier next to Jasmine boat restaurant and jump into the ferry/boat in a pier. One way pays 1000 riel. I can recommend Pomelo homestay for all! I really loved the place and the family ❤️

A real slice of Cambodian life”
This is a real homestay opportunity where you become part of the family! We helped to cook an amazing dinner and then had an interesting conversation with the host Virek who grew up on the island. We slept on a comfortable mattress on the floor with a mosquito net and curtains all around, with 7-8 other guests who were students from Cambodia also having curtained off space in the same room. Virek's mum endlessly bought out delicious little treats and new things to try (yam cooked in sweet rice was great!) and the next day we rented bikes to explore the little island. Very relaxing and interesting homestay - highly recommend!

Lovely authentic homestay”
If you are looking for a nice authentic homestay in Cambodia? Away from the tourist crowds? This is your place! The family goes above and beyond to make you as happy as possible. The accommodation is basic, but very nice and clean and the small island is perfect to relaxe for a couple of days and watch the local live passing by.
