The view and pool are worth gold! Stunning, quiet and really spacious rooms. Food at restaurant is okay but many places to chose from elsewhere. Such a gem of a place to unwind. Not for partiers.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Beautiful is a understatement. Pictures don't give it justice as you have to see it with your on eyes. A word of caution, the Monkeys near the hotel are very aggressive and dangerous.

What a beautiful hotel . Fabulous pool with stunning views. Interesting access as you need to get onto Railey beach via long boat and then the hotel staff meet you on the beach and take your luggage up on Tuk Tuk. For us this all added to the charm. Food good , but real highlight the pool .

The hotel is neat, located in a beautiful location, the room is large and comfortable, but the bathroom needs repair, but this did not prevent us from enjoying our stay. We booked a room with a sea view, but the entire view was blocked by the restaurant roof, there were nt enough sunbeds by the pool, but probably the biggest misunderstanding was the breakfast, it was simply terrible, we have not had a worse experience with breakfast. Therefore, I think that the hotel's quality and price ratio does not match.

Had a fantastic stay here. Good value compared to some of the expensive accommodation on Railay. Location great, nice and secluded and the pool views under the cliffs are exceptional. The staff really make this resort great though. Extremely friendly, always smiling and genuinely kind.

Stayed here for four nights in pool view room. We originally booked for three nights in a garden room and upon check in asked if we could extend one night. Garden room wasn’t available for four nights so we were kindly upgraded to pool view room. Pool view room bathroom is bigger. Staff were very friendly and the view was magnificent. There is a hill to walk up however the resort offers transport up and down the hill every hour up until a certain time. We used it a few times and was convenient to get up the hill. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the main walking street on Railay. We liked that it was away from the crowds. Highly recommend staying here.

What a wonderful place to stay. The most beautiful view from the rooms. It’s built using nature around it. You are in the jungle with great views of the ocean and all around the property with mountains. One of the most beautiful resorts in 40 years of international travel.

The resort's location is fantastic, nestled amidst stunning cliffs. The staff were exceptional, always friendly and helpful. The facilities were top-notch, offering everything we needed. Phutawan was a top highlight of our trip around Thailand. The room was beautiful and spacious and the staff so hospitable. We even had the gaff of forgetting to give back our physical hotel room key for our hotel on Koh Lanta and the Phutawan staff helped mail it back. Sitting against the jungle was an absolute wonder. We sat poolside for hours watching different species of monkeys and one Gibbon Ape even swing through the trees. We wish we could have stayed longer. Final note: we had an early (8:30) flight out of Krabi and the airport transfer was unbelievably smooth: checked out in 2 minutes with reception, was taxied to the town by tuk tuk with two staff, at which point we all walked to a long tail boat where one staff stayed with us and the boat, then arrived on the pier to get handed off to the van for the 30 minute drive to the airport. Such a smooth and stress-free journey!

Breakfast is solid and the view is great. It's also much quieter; you don't really hear the long tail boat engines buzzing around the bay as when you're down by the water. Easy access to town and also the path to Tonsai Beach.

A lovely boutique hotel set above Railay beach but just a short walk to the action (the hotel provides a shuttle service if you don't want to walk.) Our bungalow was great and although it had no view there are sensational views from the bar and restaurant. The on-site Thai cooking school is excellent

This was our first visit to Krabi … Railay is a bustling small resort which can feel very claustrophobic at first …. Our hotel was an oasis of calm .. the views from the pool are magnificent giving you a feel g of being along way. From resort although you are a short walk or even shorter tuk tuk ride away from bars restaurants and beaches …. Our garden room was exactly as described and very comfortable, our only criticism would be that the wet room needs updating . The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you , the breakfast buffet was well stocked and you can have eggs made to order …all very nice and we thought the hotel food and drink selection were good and reasonably priced . My only negative was that there was some renovations talking place which proved quite noisy on occasion. While I appreciate this is necessary to improve the hotel it may be an idea todo the works in off season , or at least warn the customers of potential noise as it made the pool and bar almost unusable ..

We enjoyed our short stay at this beautiful resort with its lovely pool and views. It was nice to be out of the busy area of Railay but still a quick 10min walk to restaurants and the Railay West beach.

We booked partial sea facing room and the view was exceptional, with pool, cliff, beach and far off island views. Try to get the room on the top floor for the best views. Food was good. The bathroom had a foul smell.

Honestly the viw from our room was immaculate. Staff and facilities were perfect. Just a long way up and down, so if you have difficulty walking or moving around then not the place for you cause elevated slop up the mountain from one side of the island to the other.

Hi, My stay in Railay has been memorable, it is not the place for somebody not so nimble to get around, apart from the lovely staff, my beautiful room and the surrounding area, it is not for people like me, I’am 79 years old. So from the start of the trip, after taxi for 1 1/2hours, the a tuk tuk ride to the wharf, climbing down steep stairs to get on this longtail boat, to getting on to a wharf a mile long, to getting in another tuk tuk to go to office, register, then climb up 3 flights of steep stairs, to get to a beautiful room overlooking swimming pool. It is beautiful, but not for even fit 79 year olds. Pity all of this was not explained in the reviews on the web. Great for young people, not for us oldies !!! Will go out tonight and do the same thing again tomorrow, but back to Bangkok for R’n R on Sunday., 🤗

This was a last minute booking after we had to suddenly change plans and found ourselves flying to Krabi with no where to stay. What a gem it was! We have stayed at many places in Thailand - this is one of our favourite stays due to its laid back charm, views and staff. The views are stunning from this resort as you’re perched up on top of a hill. The food was delicious (smoothies here are great too) and the pool was lovely. The staff here are a real highlight, from the moment we were picked up at the airport, everyone was so friendly and helpful, I honestly can’t say enough great things about them. We loved the place so much that we have already booked our return. We booked a Grand Deluxe Seaview room which had a stunning view - highly recommend. Tip - book a transfer through the resort. Saves the hassle of navigating the pier with your luggage and you get a cool tractor ride from the long tail up the hill.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the rooms and pool area are so lovely! They have great chilled music playing around the pool and the view from the pool is fabulous. Robes, slippers, and bathroom amenities in the room, along with both beach and bath towels. A great selection of food at breakfast from fruit, cereals, a selection of bread, cooked breakfast items, pastries and thai cuisine such as rice and curries too. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try the lunch food as I became unwell but it looked absolutely delicious! Items such as burgers, pizzas and rice floated past me and looked great. Despite reading reviews about a “big hill” the pathway is absolutely fine. It is lit up at night time and its only the last little bit up to the hotel which is inclined, in addition to the steps or slope up to the reception area. Hotel shuttle via tuktuk is also very convenient. I would definitely recommend Phutawan! I was debating between Phutawan and Sand Sea Resort and having walked past Sand Sea it would have been very noisy from all the tail boats and tourists on the beach so I am very pleased with my choice.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating. We were really well looked after throughout our stay. They arranged all our transfers from Krabi airport to the hotel. Didnt have to lift a finger from A to Z John is the man and the Mai Tais are great.

It's a bit of a walk from everything, but well worth it. High up among the karst scenery, with ocean views, you can stroll down to beaches, bars, restaurants, massage places, etc. Staff is friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. One caveat: if you have any mobility issues, you should book elsewhere.

It certainly is a nice hotel, but at Our time of staying construction work was done at the Pool, which was not advertised. Musky smell in the bathroom. There were no towels in the whole hotel according to the receptionist because they were all in laundry. It is an okay hotel but too pricey for what is offered

We enjoyed our stay there and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The facilities however are a bit outdated and need some renovations (bathroom needs to be fully updated, the beds are old and squeaky). Breakfast is fine but would like to see a bit more variety.
One of the best if not the best resort in railay. Great view of mountains and sea from the room. Being far from entertainment street means a very peaceful stay for my small family. Worry not, tuk tuk is always available to bring you to the town and beach from the hotel. Breakfast is awesome, good mix of local and continental breakfast.
An enjoyable stay, the staff was very helpful from arranging a shuffle to get there and to leave the beach. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy the quietness, food and drinks tasty and good price. My only complain is about the massage service, the girl never stop watching his series or movie while giving the massage, she never closed the curtains of the tree house, there were people chatting and hanging at the Cafe, so I never relaxed nor enjoyed the massage. Therefore, if you want to get a massage service don’t get it from the hotel. There are plenty places down the beach.

We had a lovely stay at the Phutawan resort Railay. 1st time to Thailand and the first 3 nights of our holiday. Location is superb (there is a hill to walk up back to the hotel) or you can catch the free tuk tuk every hour. View from the deluxe partial see view is great and ideally located for the pool. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were all excellent, breakfast good. Only minor downside was the building works to the pool bar which should end on 31st November. You could still get drinks from the restaurant area and John would offer to fetch them for you.Hes a great guy.
Only stayed for two nights and if we had more time would have stayed longer. Great swimming pool and views, easy access and walkable to beach and restaurants, clean room, great breakfast and staff friendly and helpful.
Lovely rooms, yes it’s on a hill, so if you have walking difficulties or hate walking, then it’s a no. Beautiful pool. Small step in to shower could be problematic, luckily we were ok. Staff lovely.
Admin and staff give Thai culture a bad name.
