My Sweet Manila Stay”

I choose to stay in Red Planet everytime I am in Manila or in some places like Indonesia, Cebu for work or for leisure. Coming from the countryside, I would like to stay in a hotel that gives comfort and security not too far from what my home gives. Red Planet Ortigas is not too different from the Red Planet hotel branches I have stayed in. It stays to its proposition of value for money. It's very accessible and has a number of parking spaces. Hotel room is neat and clean. All the staff, from guard to receptionist to housekeeper, are very pleasant.

Red Planet Ortigas is HOME!”

I have stayed here twice this last couple of months and I have always enjoyed my stay. The staff is very courteous and kind - you will sense that they will go out of their way to fulfill their guests' many requests. Also, I noticed during my stay this November that they have addressed the drainage problems of their shower...I did not have bathroom-flooding issues this time and that's great!!! And while Red Planet does have a mini designated smoking area...I wish that they would make this EXCLUSIVE for guests...most of the time it is full of non-guests who carelessly throw their cigarette butts around ...and it would be nice if you provided benches for smoking guests to sit on. Other than this small concern, Red Planet Ortigas is an excellent place to stay and I highly recommend it!!!

Very Clean and Excellent Service”

This was the second time that my partner and I booked a Red Planet Hotel. Like in our first stay, our room and the hotel in general was very clean and orderly. The staff were also very helpful and courteous. For this Ortigas branch, they had a Café France shop at the ground floor that served plated breakfast. Despite not being a buffet breakfast, food was really good. We will definitely continue to stay at a Red Planet Hotel on our next trips.

Excellent hotel in Ortigas”

I've stayed here since 2010 when visiting Philippines and I do prefer this area of Manila, Ortigas. Staff is always on point. Room is very comfortable. Price is reasonable for this area and easy to get to. Thank you all at Red Planet for making my stay a relaxing one.

My home away from home”

I stayed in Red Planet Ortigas everytime I'm in Manila which is twice or three times a month for personal visit. Room is clean, although I had an issue with my last stay last June 24. A/C and hot water in 814 wasn't working. Although we were transferred to another room but should have at least checked the room prior to putting guest there.

2nd Stay in a Red Planet Hotel a Success”

This is my second stay in a Red Planet hotel, the other being in Cebu. I really like the Red Planet chain - all hotels appear to be pretty much the same, so they are instantaneously recognizable and you sort of sense a homely feel because of that. Rooms are very small, and one definite downside is that there is no coffee-making facilities, and very little else besides. Notably, staff in these hotels are always extremely polite, and it's no different here. Location is not so great, even though it's central-ish Mandaluyong. Not near any shops or restaurants. But, to change the subject, the shower is great - flathead that shoots out a ton of hot water - always a pleasurable experience when you reside in the Philippines. Overall, definitely recommended.

Good location, fair value for the money”

I enjoyed my stay at the Tune Hotel in Ortigas. Positive aspects: easy to find, most taxi drivers in Manila are familiar with the hotel. Nice room with comfortable bed, safety locker, TV, perfect aircondition (very silent). Same standard in all Tune Hotels, so the guest knows in advance what to expects and feels familiar with the room immediately. Restaurant available in the same building, 24-hour convenience stores just around the corner (7-eleven and Ministop), walking distance to the MRT-station Shaw Boulevard (10 minutes). Negative aspects: the bedsheets in my room were already visibible worn, had several holes...but they were clean. And on one day the housekeeping removed used towels from the room, but replaced only one... needed to ask for getting the second one. If I need to stay in Ortigas again, I would choose this hotel again. But if not so particular about the place, I would rather choose the Tune Hotel in Quezon City instead... the rates I got for the rooms Tune Hotel Quezon City were cheaper than in Ortigas and I experienced a higher quality... so the Quezon City branch offers higher value for the money.

Exceptional”

Red Planet Ortigas Hotel is simply fantastic in taking care of customer needs. I stayed in this hotel for almost two and half month from 19 May 2017 to 4 July 2017. I was most impressed by the high standard of assistance provided by the hotel manager Mr Jeremy Go and his ability to provide guests with a pleasant and comfortably stay. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and would be happy to stay here again when I come back.

Well positioned hotel close to Mega Mall and very good value for money”

Excellent Hotel and Value”

Excellent stay! It's close enough to airport. To get here I took a taxi for about 230php. Don't let a taxi driver tell you it's more! Kind of difficult to get here if the taxi driver doesn't know the area. Tell them its on Shaw blvd. in Ortigas area. I love the fact that Tune's allow travelers to use free computer at lobby! Room is modern w enough comfort you'll be satisfied. Staff is very accommodating and room is very clean! Lot of value for the price. I've stayed at more expensive hotels around Manila and this is far the best value!!!! I love the fact that i can walk to megaMall in 15 mins or visit Tiendesitas and get there in about 30 mins. If you don't wish to walk? or have packages? take a taxi to these for about 80php. Ortigas is a great area to hang around. Restaurants, Spas, Malls... area is safe to walk too. Lost? Anyone will help you to get where you are going... just ask!

Great Staff, Clean Room, Slow WiFi...”

I've stayed here a few times. The staff is awesome. However, the red planet membership rate is a joke, and I don't suggest wasting your time with that. The rates are better on 3rd party sites. This is something I tried to bring up to management, but they don't seem to mind. Apparently, the corporate officials are banking on overcharging "walk-in" guests rather than posting a competitive rate online. I'm disappointed with this practice. When their rewards program came out you could actually save money booking through them exclusively; now you might as well flush your hard earned money down the toilet if you think they are giving you a better rate which they always claim is "discounted." There is simply no incentive to book through them. I hope more people see this review and avoid booking with them directly until they can offer something competitive. The place is clean, the rooms are small, but it's a pleasant hotel. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi. The hotel connection is being throttled by their ISP and its difficult to download a larger sized PDF file at times. Also, the Wifi automatically times out your rooms connection once or twice a day, and you have to re-enter your password. That is annoying, and it would be so bad if their connection were strong. This last stay I had there was the worst regarding WiFi and the other Red Planets around Manila are pretty much going the same way. I ended paying extra to use LTE on my phone rather than bother with their pathetic connection. I'm giving two stars for facilities because of that. Cleanliness and Staff get the 5 star nod, but the rest is disappointing and unfortunately the people who work here day in and day out and do a fine job have to put up with disappointed guests because the corporate managers are MIA in terms of fixing some pretty glaring weaknesses which would actually help their own bottom line. Thanks to the Red Planet staff but to their marketing and corporate team, please let us know when

Great location!”

Stayed here because I had an event to attend in Tiendesitas. Excellent location -- it only took us 20 minutes to get to the venue. The only downside was that on a Sunday, there aren't too many eateries open that are walking distance from the hotel -- Mini-stop and the 7-11, mostly. ArmyNavy wasn't open on Sundays. I've stayed at 3 Red Planet locations so far and they are consistently spotless, well-maintained and the staff are always super-friendly. Room was on the 7th floor and surprisingly quiet, given that it's on a main road. We look forward to trying a Red Planet outside of the metro

If booking price is P1500 below its a bargain”

This review is written half a year old from my stay and I miss the Red Planet. Thing is somehow they sort of pegged their lowest rate to P1750 which is already quite unreasonable since there are other business hotels within the area that can offer better or similar services at a few hundred pesos less. So if they stick to their currect price then I won't probably see them for a weekend stay anytime soon.

Fantastic value for money!”

I am not sure how anyone could rate this hotel as anything less than 10 out of 10. For this money you could not do any better. I have stayed in the Richmonde Hotel around the corner which cost 5 times as much and the only difference I can see is that in the Richmonde you get slightly bigger room and a telephone??? If gold plated luggage carts are not high on you list of requirements for a hotel then you MUST stay here. The hotel is modern, extremely clean and in a good as location as the richmonde around the corner. Sure there's no phone in the room but who needs one these days? There's TV, hairdryer and the best WIFI I have experienced the Philippines. The staff are also fantastic, they are friendly and attentative and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if like me you just need a really comfortable bed, with air con and fan, clean towels, clean room and a TV. I will certainly be staying here again when in Manila! Excellent”

Better than my stay at red planet makati. Staff was great and the vicinity was just clean. Everyone from the made main entrance to the room made sure that everything was good. Kudos red planet ortigas!

Get what you pay for”

I'm a regular @ Red Planet in Manila. Because I love it? No. Not necessarily. I'm a regular at McDonald's too but I wouldn't give a jack writing a review about it. But there's that direct comparison why I'm giving Agoda my two minutes to give my Nth review on Red Planet. The hotel, like that fastfood, is conveniently located, clean, frills free, very predictable, and affordable. It's a safe and boring place to stay. Picture a sterile jail cell and just remove the bars and stainless toilet, squeeze in a queen bed and personal T&B and you got yourself a standard Red Planet hotel room. If there were choices offering these same lines & price point, I'd give 'em a shot.

I stayed for less than a day as i was just passing through while visiting family. The staff were vry friendly and accommodation! I had requested for an early check in through agoda, but it turns out it wasn't reflected in their records. However, they made arrangements for me! The staff particularly "michllle" was very helpful and engaging. I happened to mention in passing that it was my birthday, and told them that i will step out for lunch and return later t check in. When I did, there was a beautiful token on my bed side table! they had made two small "flags" that say happy birthday! i was so touched! it was a very nice and kind gesture! I commend both Michelle and Kelly! who were both on duty that day, for their thoughtfulness and going the extra mile! Over all, i like red planet! very convenient, clean and they have comfy beds and rooms! excellent for a budget hotel! i will be definitely be going back!

Excellent customer service”

I am always excited to stay at Red Planet Ortigas because of the excellent customer service being practice specially from the front desk crew. I am a regular guest since last year and the treatment I got from them never failed me, you will received what you expect as a guest.

Best value”

There was no telephone in the room, you had to go out and use the one in the hallway. Room is quite small, it’s all right for solo travelers but couples and families may have issues with space. There was no bus boy to assist with luggage. Then again, I did not request for assistance and given how polite and helpful the front desk has been, I believe they would have given me assistance had I asked. Please note that while these are cons, they are understandable given the budget price and the pros(which I will outline below) far outweigh the cons. This hotel is one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. The room, beds, bathrooms, everything was spotless. The hotel is new so I hope they can keep it well maintained. Housekeeping is prompt and on time, no need for you to request. Check in was swift. They hand you your keycard in a matter of minutes and I didn’t have to wait for housekeeping to get the room ready. Bed was very comfortable. Paired with the cool air conditioning, I slept like a log. Wi-fi was good. I was able to play online games on my laptop with minimal lag. It does slow down at night time when everyone is in their rooms and using the wifi, which is understandable. The hotel is a brief 10 to 15 minute walk to Shangri-La Plaza and SM Megamall, very accessible. There are also various convenience stores and restaurants in the area. Breakfast is decent if a bit light on the serving size. I suggest saving your money and just ordering Jollibee/Mcdonalds breakfast delivery. While the location is good, the Ortigas area does get jammed with traffic. Getting to and from the hotel during rush hour will take a while. Despite the very few and not really a problem cons, this hotel has been the best value for money of all the hotels I have stayed in in the Philippines. Tune Hotels gets my highest recommendation!

My Second Home”

Red Planet Ortigas is our second home, nice, clean place. Courteous and polite staff, and the location is ok, you can walk going to Shangrila, Greenfield and Megamall. If you want a budget friendly food, there is 7-11 and ministop and of course the Cafe France.
