Baja California Sur State hotels & places to stay

The hotel is actually very comfortable. The room was clean, well-equipped and of good size. The bathroom was quite nice as well. We also had a far but good enough view of the arch. The problem was the location, it is not walking distance to the marina and the beaches. You have to take a bus, which you need to cross a busy highway, can be quite dangerous. But you will get used to that on the 2nd day. I like the free use of the gym which was really nice and well managed. This is a great hotel for its price if you don't mind the commute everyday.

The hotel is just a 5-10 minutes walk away from the center which is actually really nice since you don't get any of the nightlife noise you'll constantly have in the center. I had a room in the newer part of the hotel which was quite spacious and very clean. Make sure you check out Tacos Gardenias which is located in a side street off the main road only 5 minutes from the hotel and was the best place I ate at during my one week stay. I can fully recommend staying here.

The staff bungled my hotel bill (twice!) and failed to respond professionally. It's a nice hotel with a lot of potential, but their staff needs professional training. I mean, what kind of hotel mistakenly runs your credit card for somebody else's room?!? Or forgets to charge you for the entire price of the room? Just unprofessional, which is a shame, because they're really nice people but just seemed to be not really trained in "hospitality". Don't get me wrong, the staff is very friendly and good people, but they just don't seem to have an idea of how to understand what guests need or the proper behavior for interacting with people who are on vacation. I think with some professional training (or maybe some more experienced professionals) it would be vastly improved. Beyond that, the bedding was comfortable, the ambiance is great and the location is decent. Only other major complaint would be the shower. Oh my god, it has the WORST nozzle ever, I got more water from the sink then I die from that nozzle! Finally I figured out on the third day that there's a normal shower on the top floor where I could actually wash myself, so I just used that: but seriously, I get the whole conserve water thing but this was a little extreme! Ok ok ... One more thing, I love the paintings but having a "patch Adams" mural over your bed is a little creepy. Not only is he a clown, which could freak some people out, but Robin Williams also killed himself last year, not really the kind of thing you want looking down on you while sleeping. I think that's kind of symbolic of my entire visit there...it's a good effort with the right intentions, but there doesn't seem to be a real awareness of what guests might actually need/want. I'll end on a positive note, the cleaning staff was great, they were quite thorough.

I went to La Paz with my two teenagers for a 5 day beach vacation. This hotel is beautiful, every small detail is thoughtful, with interesting art pieces and bowls of well cared for succulents on every wall and nook. There are also amazing handpainted murals all over the hotel. The facilities are clean and basic, the shower had good water pressure, the beds were comfortable, the AC worked well. There is a small shaded pool in a courtyard with loungers and chairs, and a shaded roof top deck with hammocks and couches. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 3 blocks away from the end of the malecon (beach boardwalk), and it was a safe walk, although behind the marina. There was a wonderful restaurant (Banditos), a block away. I highly recommend this hotel for families or couples on a budget.

There was a lot of space in the suite, a kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, etc. and a fridge, though the fridge didn't fully work (the freezer section functioned as a fridge). There is internet in the lobby, though most rooms can't get it. The staff was incredibly friendly and available 24/7 with a security guard as well. My friend was on crutches and we were able to get easy parking and access to our room. Breakfast was great - eggs, beans, vegetables, toast, cereal, coffee - and they provided water bottles daily. Shower had somewhat low pressure, but was warm, and there was plenty of sleeping space and comfortable blankets. The hotel is a short drive to the beach and about 9 minutes drive to the cute downtown area. Best to have a rental car while there.

This hotel is part of a bigger chain but seems to be the poor cousin. Breakfast average, location- close to beach- short walk - short walk to marina area, but it is on a very busy main Rd intersection, can be noisy in the mornings with many trucks . Rooms - very thin walls so if you have noisy neighbours, good luck . Staff - main office staff only want to sell you into a timeshare at the other properties, they have no interest In customers , it’s money money money first. The room service staff and security team are great and friendly , Shame about the rest of the hotel , not recommended

We love the location of this hotel, center of everything, free valet parking, just across the street from the boardwalk, feels like South Beach in Florida, but at much more affordable price, good value for the money. In general, La Paz is a nice, not as commercial place, we love it! People here are nice, staff are nice! There are many choices of food, cheap or expensive; bar or fast food type. We love a food truck which sells burrito,

Stayed one night at a GREAT price for such a nice hotel. Reception helpful and friendly. Room very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast buffet substantial and excellent. Evening menu too pricey (but food was very good). Biggest issue is that hotel is located far far away from town (La Paz, a wonderful city to visit, to walk the Malecon, etc); indeed, there's not even a convenience store located within many kilometres (a once nearby "BreezeMart" store closed down).

It is a huge hotel with good buffet breakfast and helpful staff. It is beautiful and clean but to get to your room can sometimes be challenging. I don't know who is the architect is but I will never get him to design my house. Also be careful booking rooms located in mezzanine, there are flight of stairs involved getting to your room, so if you have lots of bags (for example if you have dive gear and camera), it is not very easy. Anyway, ask staff. They are nice. I would recommend this hotel to m y friends who are diving with Nautilus Liveaboards coz they have an office on site.

Great bang for the buck! Nestled in between the rows of 5 star resorts the facilities are a tiny bit older but still very luxurious. Second to last resort before the beach ends and you can take a quick hike to lovers beach over the rocks and snorkel (get cheap gear in town) in one of the best snorkel spots in Cabo without paying for it. Walking distance from town or an $8 taxi ride in. Get tacos at Gus’s and omega. Also scuba spot against the rocks in front of beach club. Will stay again!

This is a nicely appointed resort located just 15 minutes from the Los Cabos Airport. If you like a large, all-inclusive resort, then you'll like the Barcelo Grand Faro. I only stayed for one night. My room was comfortable and overlooking the pool area. I enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffet and had dinner at the Italian restaurant. Food at the buffet was plentiful and the staff was attentive and helpful. At dinner the service was excellent, but the food and wine was less than impressive.

Originally booked a room in the second building down the street - it's nice enough, but feels way more motel-y than the main building, which has the courtyard and pool that you see advertised. So we upgraded...pricey, but we think worth the splurge in the end. Courtyard is very peaceful and lovely, and the pool is great. We had a well-appointed room on the bottom floor that opens right up to the courtyard. Parking is free in the back lot, super convenient. Neighborhood and location are both great. About a 20 min walk to beach; great for a morning or late afternoon run. One warning - the breakfast that comes with the room is at a nearby restaurant called Jasmin. The food is pretty terrible, so if you're booking this place in part for the included breakfast, keep that in mind.
