There is so much to say about the My Dream Resort, warm welcome from the manager when we arrived she was very nice making sure all our needs were met. Hotel with a feeling of home, nice clean rooms, quite location, just a 3 minutes walk to the local vegetables and fruits market where you can get a feeling how Lao people live, i had the best coconuts from a shop where a very pleasant woman worked. The owner of a resort is a wonderful young man who was born to work in hospitality a person who is constantly learning and improving, humble and very kind man. The stuff in the Hotel will take care of all of your needs in a pleasant manner. Breakfast buffet is so tasty, i had the most delicious vegetarian dish in my life green beans and pumpkin i had to go refill my plate 3 times and i could not get enough of it, even the eggs tasted so good, food made with love and care, organic ingredients you just just feel the difference in every bite you take. I stayed at the le bel air resort for two days and there i felt i was constantly being watched food was not so delicious. My mother was pleased with everything, i wish we could have stayed longer at the My Dream Resort. I also liked the swimming pool nice place to relax and cool off and very quite garden on the nam ken river. I loved a 15 minutes walk across the old bridge to the city as i rediscovered this beautiful, romantic city forgotten in time. I recommend this Hotel to everyone, feeling of home, i was relaxed i felt i can do anything i wanted. the best selling point is the food, after My Dream Resort it is hard to eat in any other Hotel because nothing comes close to their food. Make sure you meet Mr. Bounsa. As we were leaving the owner took us to the shuttle said good buy and waited until the shuttle left, little thing like this that make the difference. I want to use this chance and thank Mr Bounsa and all his staff for a wonderful experience that stays for a life time. Thank you My dream resort!

I'm travelling with my 6 years old girl as our last trip to visit asian country before we leave souh east asia for good. As regular traveler and use to spoil with 5/6 star hotel, I'm very happy choosed to stay at Villa Maly after listening to our friends experienced staying with them. Being a platinum/diamond member of several International 5 star hotels, my expectation when it come to service is above average, hate to said it. But Villa Maly easily get in my list after our stay. The staff is lovely, friendly, very helpful and sincerely... Yes, it's they job to make you happy staying with them. But I can tell when the service is sincerely or not as we are travelling almost every month. They listen very well of my questions and requests and my concern, and I'm very happy with the way they handle it. The assistant manager personally spent his time talk to the guesses in regular basis, good role model for the rest of the staff. Breakfast is good and have good selections. Swimming pool is nice and well maintain. Over all it's very cozy and nice hotel to stay. They also arranged all our activities and our transportations while we there according to our comfort, price is resonable and the private tour is mean private. Yes, I can go across the street for few $ cheaper, but why you jeopardy your holiday after all the expenses we spent for air tickets etc? When you visit Luang Prabang, Villa Maly is the picture of the town. If you expecting modern and luxury place, you are visiting a wrong place, and those style dont suit this town. Cozy, warm, friendly, lay back and serenity are what you looking for from this town, and Villa Maly is the place to stay.

What a wonderful resort! We absolutely loved our stay at the Pullman. The service was exceptional - everyone was so thoughtful about even the smallest details. We were upgraded to a large and lovely room. The rooms are new, clean and comfortable - we loved the large shower and bathtub. The hotel has 3 different pools all with beautiful views. We appreciated the quiet of the adults only pool. The restaurants and food were delicious. The hotel was offering a great deal for the spa and we were impressed with the quality of service. Although this hotel is not in town, it is a short van ride away. The setting of the hills and gardens is peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we were looking for! I cannot wait to come back!

i can not say enough good about this hotel. it is very well designed hotel with infinity pool overlooking the city! breakfast is fantastic! this is just like 5 star hotel ! service is amazing! and beds area the best in asia ! you have: fluffy and luxurious bedding; free complimentary tooth brush and toothpaste etc. you even get a shaver and shaving foam provided; excellent lao coffee and cafeter as well as great teas bags. another bonus of this hotel is hotel manager who is very helpful and super polite. chef comes out even during breakfast to say hello. free hotel transport is always there to take you or to drop you anywhere you need. if you call them for pick up, just give them 10 minutes and they will come and pick you up. we even got a thank you email from hotel manager after we left! this is the only hotel i will ever stay when in luang prabang.

We needed to get away for a weekend, Xiengthong Palace gave us the cream on top of our Luang Prabang visit. The hotel and it’s room conditions are very good with relaxing environment, we got the 1st floor river view room from the balcony seats gave us some river view between many street trees. We rented the hotel’s bamboo bicycles for a day thus it took us only 5 minutes in state of 15 minutes by walking to town center. The first day we used tuk-tuk from hotel to evening market but we learned that tuk-tuk would not give us the freedom to come and go as we like. The hotel staffs are very friendly with the performance up to par as international five stars standard hotels. We had breakfasts and a dinner at hotel, the foods are good.

We have visited Luang Prabang once before and love the peace and tranquillity. This year we decided to spend 2 months in SE Asia with 2 weeks in LP. I booked this hotel online. It was a bit over our- low - budget but we decided to treat ourselves. We could not have been happier. The staff were excellent. There was always someone available if we had a need or problem and several spoke excellent English. The breakfast was very good- a choice of Thai and Western- or both. The pool was a wonderful relief after the heat of the city. There was even a real ‘ deep end’ to do a few exercises. It was also possible to have cocktails and / or dinner by the pool. I hadn’t realised that this hotel is run in tandem with Lao Airlines. When it was time to leave we could check in at the hotel, our luggage was weighed and we were transported to the airport checkin free of charge. Because we stayed for 2 weeks our room was upgraded on arrival and we were given a free dinner one evening before we left

Great hotel, brand new and got room for excellen price. Clean, modern, comfortable beds, best shower pressure (so nice after spending all day swimming at the waterfalls!). Girl on front desk needs a little more experience in tourism, but owners (who live upstairs) speak excellent English and are very helpful with every need, my son was sick for 24hrs and they were offering food and drinks and advice on medical care, very appreciative (thankyou!!). Hotel around corner has pool for small cost. 3 min walk to Joma, 4 min to night market, cheap laundry service close by, would definately stay here again.

where to start with satri house? the cobbled pathway overhung with bamboo leading to a painted grey gate which in turn opens onto a little courtyard where we were graciously received despite our dishevelled appearance and probably quite stinky state (we'd come directly from riding elephants out of town)and offered a refreshing rosella drink in the beautiful library, looking over a turtle-filled pond..our hostess waited patiently while grandad wrestled probably priceless antique sword (sheathed thankfully) from overtired 4 year old and i note small sala with 2 massage beds at other end of pond and vow to try and fit one in. sadly i didn't, but i did see another (childless) guest looking very relaxed while having her feet tended. through the breezy walkways and up the stairs past pool 1 (long, slim lap pool with celadon green tiles and lush garden surrounds, past original satri house building, stunning open restaurant and pool 2 - larger with shallow area great for kids, loungers and more lush garden. past the bar and upstairs to our beautiful room. each room is individually decorated with lovely timber furniture, artefacts and chinese engravings. mao is waiting for you in the shower. no tv in room (but available on request). i want to move in. balcony with leafy local view awaits and every night we take the kids out for dinner in town, put them to bed and have dinner & wine delivered to our balcony. heaven. i never want to leave. breakfast time - 2 & 4 year old offered pancakes with chocolate sauce and grown-ups have strong coffee and poached eggs on the terrace. the hotel is magic, unlike any other. small enough to be personal - the staff greeted the kids by name - but the service is what you'd expect in a large 5 star. paradise.

We stayed for for days. staff in this hotel was so kind and friendly and walm. My english skill is so bad and it is too hard for me to understand their localy english but they explained to me kindly about there map culture. As We almost day went out to cave and waterfall and city center. Location is so good. Night market and Fakirism in front of this hotel we could see. I do not know whether food is good or not, bacause we have lunch and dinner outside. Local food is so delicious and very cheap. many good restaurants are near here. There are many restaurant to serve that are not in guide book and trip adviser lanking. Pool is good too water is very fittable for me to swim. Unfortunately I knew they have goood fitness room, I missed. I recomend everyone!

We had 7 nights in Maison Souvannaphoum in a Garden Wing room, and thought it was excellent. The rooms are nicely set out, very comfortable bed, and a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens with an overhead fan. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful (including lending us some plates and cutlery one night to eat food we brought back from the nearby Night Market). There is a turndown service which comes in the early evening and cleans up the room a bit, and lights a mozzie coil on the balcony. We didn't see a mozzie anywhere on the property in the week we were there. The rooms are nicely decorated, and the grounds immaculate. The pool was also great, not huge, but well maintained and very inviting, especially in the evening. Breakfast was good, with plenty of variety, although the standard of the coffee was a bit uneven. The only thing that stops us giving this 5 stars is the problems with the internet access, which other posters have mentioned. From talking to the Manager (the very helpful and accessible Serge) its a problem with the Lao network, and not something the hotel has any control over. Hopefully things will get sorted, as the internet was pretty much unusable for 5 of the 7 days we were there, which is a bit of a pain when you are relying on it for banking and making arrangements for the rest of your trip. However, in an emergency you can always head 100 metres down the road to JOMA for a great passionfruit shake, as they have free wifi. Like most hotels of this standard the laundry costs are astronomical. There is a laundry service on the opposite side of the road closer to the Night Market which will do you a kilo of washing for 8,000 kip. A couple of doors further up from this is also a shop which sells beer and wine (stick with the casks, this is a place where bottles of old wine go to die!)

After all review, i booked this hotel which i think was one of the few best place in my life. Staff are well-known about how to run Hotel business. Room are clean,bed is turn down every night. Staff are extremely professional in all way and sun set cruise is super. Thank Damien And Vone GM of hotel and all who are care and always ask us how is our days. Not all hotel are such professional even 5 star is not so helpful and care. Luang Prabang is one of city that has it unique atmosphere cool breeze along river Mekhong and Khan, riding hotel free bicycle around all day and come back to bed at beautiful and most comfort hotel is what you need. Only sad thing is hotel Wifi is unstable. You might have to surf the net outside hotel. I think this will not be my last visited to this hotel.

We were only able to stay here one night while in LP because they were booked up, but our experience was great. The room itself was very nice, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've had the pleasure to sleep in, hard to find a good bed in SE Asia--we loved this one! The balcony was nice with cool, comfortable chairs and a view of the garden and lotus pond. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we've had in SE Asia (much better than the usual boiled ham and "sausages" hotels pass off for western breakfast), and the staff at the restaurant (including the chef) were so friendly and helpful. They had homemade yogurt, croissants and breads with various homemade jams, omelettes or fried eggs made to order, plus some Laotian options too. The icing on the cake was that when we were checking out we realized we had left one of their umbrellas at a bar the night before. Tony, the manager, offered to drive us over there to find it. When we got there we were told that they did have it, but someone had already come that morning and claimed it was theirs! So basically we lost their umbrella (un parasol noir haha), and not only did they not make us pay for it (we offered), but Tony dropped us off at our next hotel--so we ended up saving money not having to take a tuktuk! He was pointing out good restaurants along the way too, a little mini tour of the city. Cheers to Tony and the rest of the staff at Parasol Blanc. Literally the ONLY negative thing you could say about the hotel is that it's a 20 minute walk to the center city, whereas most guesthouses are within 5 minutes or are right on the main street. But having a little walk, taking one of their free bikes (bikes are single-speed cruisers, but good and include a lock), or paying $5 for a tuktuk isn't so bad when you have such a great place to call home in LP. We will be back!

This hotel is excellent value! We got 5 star service for a fraction of the price. When we arrived, we were immediately upgraded to the royal suite even though we had booked the cheapest option of a deluxe room. I think this is because being July it was rainy season and so there weren't that many tourists. (we got no rain at all though!) the royal suite was amazing, the most luxurious room we have ever, and probably ever likely to stay in! For the price we paid, and after penny pinching our way through Asia, we could not believe our luck! Huge bed, sofa, armchairs, flat screen tv, DVD player, huge bathroom, huge shower, fresh fruit, bathrobes, small swimming pool outside our room that was like our own private one as there was never anyone else in it. The staff were exceptional, helpful, friendly and courteous at all times, which was our overall impression of Laotian people anyway. Breakfast was excellent, you ordered what you wanted from a menu instead of a buffet so everything was hot and fresh. We didn't go to the restaurant for dinner but if the breakfast was anything to go by I'm sure it was great. They also picked us up and left us back to the airport for free. It was perfect location also, right on main street but set in from the street so no noise. I would definitely recommend Luang Prabang(beautiful place) and Villa Santi, especially in rainy season for extra value!

Stayed 4D/3N. A top 3-4 star lodging of choice which we gladly recommend. Reasons include: 1. Super location (walking distance to virtually all town locations) 2. Cold air conditioning in (clean) rooms and linens 3. Some of the best WiFi in Luang Prabang 4. Charming and helpful staff and service 5. Hot/cold water 6. Nice rooftop restaurant with great fruit and soda drinks (and reasonable pricing) 7. No 10% + 10% on dining << our accolades 8. Best vegetarian beet burger we’ve had in a long long while (we somehow had it three times during our stay) 9. Cute bakery/cafe (do get the breakfast with your room) Some rough edges perhaps (depending on room, can have a challenging walk-in to tub/shower and TV reception may not be the greatest, at least that we experienced) but those things did not bother us. A definite recommend and a return location for us. (Please note no elevator here.)

many of my friends had stayed here and raved about this luxury hotel, but i was always reluctant to stay at a self-contained resort outside of town because i so enjoy being in the centre of luang prabang. on this holiday my friend and i chose the best of both worlds -- three nights at the three nagas right in the centre followed by one night of total pampering at la residence phou vao. it was the right order, because nothing can top la residence phou vao and indeed we never left the grounds because it was pure heaven. i can hardly wait to get back. absolutely everything here is perfect. the suite itself had me giggling at all the lovely touches -- flowers on the toilet and the toilet paper holder??? the spa was perfection and the food was absolutely perfect. one could run out of superlatives here. just one tiny detail sums it all up: i travel with some small dolls that my little niece gave me to photograph all over the world. when i came back from dinner, the person who had done the turn-down service had arranged them sitting up on their own little seat made from a linen towel, complete with a red carnation. now that kind of attention to detail spells a great hotel!

One of my all time favorite hotels. I loved the understated simple elegance everywhere, the absence of so much hotel paraphernalia and noise. I loved the old palace of Prince Phetsarath Ratavongsa, so beautifully turned into a museum to his memory (look for the photos of our hero with Ho Chi Minh and Zhou En Lai, and the fabulous view from his desk up the river). I loved the water buffalo, rescued from the abattoir, and now grown fat on the rich grass of the hotel lawns. And best of all, the tranquil views of the mighty Mekhong. If you want easy access to the bars and restaurants downtown, stay downtown. There are lovely hotels there too. If you want peace, quiet and magnificent scenery, stay at The Grand. A couple of suggestions: (1) the shuttle bus into Luang Prabang could run a little more frequently - we ended up hiring the local tuktuk man, Mr. Ton, more often than not. Good for Mr. Ton, but not so cheap. (2) It’d be good to have more fruit, seeds and nuts for the muesli

This boutique hotel would have to be one of the best I have stayed in in Asia. The minute we walked into the room you could see it was luxury plus,we had separate lounge room an enormous bedroom and a state of the art bathroom, double shower,double vanity and a jacuzzi. I liked the location being just a 10 minute bicycle ride (bikes were free) or 5 minute shuttle bus ride (operating most of the day) from the town. the restaurant served a variety of local and international dishes,which were delicious,also great cocktails. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Few points, I booked the VIP room and I must say, it was opulent (in my opinion). Nice quiet surroundings, good bed, HUGE bathroom (you can hold a mini conference meeting in there) excellent facilities. Breakfast was good and staff were attentive and friendly. Hotel was centrally located yet peaceful, clean and very nicely done. Now the only two points I can say could use improvement was the checking in time. I booked the room with a free Lao massage but when I checked in and over the course of my stay for two nights, nobody on duty made mention of how to get the free massage, when or where to get the massage, let alone a massage voucher, although it was specifically stated on the booking form. Didn't bother me as much though considering I was out most of the time admiring the sights and enjoying the local market delights. Next thing was the water. The hot water is not really near lukewarm even despite me leaving the water running for 5-10minutes. But was fine by me considering it was dry season and a cold shower was refreshing after a long time out in the heat. The morning cold showers though took a lil getting used to. The only time the hot water actually kicked in was the last day when I was checking out. Ah well... Can't always get what we want in life so I didn't think too much of it. But overall a great stay. Spend some extra money and book the VIP room, it's a real treat to have your own lil seating area on your own porch...

Arrival to this hotel was great. They picked us up from the airport, provided ice water and wet tissues, and really took care of us. When we got to the hotel (only 15 minutes) we saw how beautiful the location was. It's right across from the Mekong River and on the edge of the town. The hotel staff gave us a great run-down of places to eat, best times of the day to go to popular locations, restaurant recommendations, and everything else we needed. The rooms were great and the King size bed was a plus. The toilets are separate from the showers which is convenient for groups except when washing hands, we had to wait until the shower room was available. Free bicycle rentals were life-saves because the heat of Laos could be too much for some. But the best aspect of this hotel is the location. Since we were on the edge of the town, we were able to take our bicycles in one direction and see everything. Also, they allowed us a late checkout which we were extremely grateful for. THANK YOU

You will get very warn welcome at first by foot massage before check-in. Every staff really kind and helpful, especially Miss Pukky. Room is big and well decoration as good as its price. They always have activities for guest everyday, such as story telling, cooking class, dance. The location may quite far from main landmark but It's not the problem. They have shuttle bus service between Siftel and 3Naka that located in The city. By far, this is absolutely the best hotel in Luang Prabang

Stayed in 3 hotels (other 2 were four star hotels) in Luang Prabang and this is the best of them all in my opinion. Not only it is cheap, but the rooms are HUGE and very clean as well. The staffs are very friendly and polite and the breakfast is pretty tasty honestly. Location is also good and close to the old quarters and night market. I would stay here again if I visit the town again. Keep up the great work!

GM and Room Division Manager are high calibre staff. I got an accident from walking at the night market with uncertainty levels of footpath. The staff looked after me very well. The Luangprabang Provincial Hospital has good doctors for efficient diagnosis, good medicines and well care with good money spent. It is with surprise and beyond our expectation. It is a cooler winter time but heater is provided in all rooms. Delicious famous croissants (from Le Banneton) served along with many choices of breakfast. All foods are delicious! Located within walking area to famous Xiengthong Temple, night market, Royal Palace Museum, Prabang Buddha, Phusi Hill for sunset watching, Coconut Restaurant, L'Elephant Restaurant, Jo Ma Bakery Cafe with famous coconut cake and many nearby good cafes, restaurants and cooking schools. Bikes are provided free of charge for easier travelling. Good value for money booking through Agoda.com. I give strong recommendation for location, foods and efficiency staff. Guangsi Waterfalls is worth for sightseeing. Boat trip to the Upper cave and Lower cave did not provide life savers. Watch out if you are not strong swimmer. This hotel is cozy but elegance. Price is as 4 star hotel but well living as if 5 star hotel with all good friendly manner staff members.

We stayed for four nights at the Jasmine with our three boys of 8, 6 and 3 and had a great experience. The location is perfect, just a five minute walk to the walking market and all of the cafes and restaurants. It is also on a road that the monks walk down for the alms ceremony in the morning. Possibly one of the best places to get unobtrusive photos is from the balcony of the hotel. The breakfast was exceptional. The best breakfast we had whilst in Laos. The staff were super friendly and so kind to our children. The big bonus for us was the swimming pool. It may have been a little squeezed in but it was great for a quick cool down and it kept our three boys occupied. The rooms were clean and tidy and had everything you needed. Definitely good value for money.
