Oaxaca State hotels & accommodations

The stay I had was in a room that was between the pool and the restaurant courtyard so the noise was a pretty big issue. One day they had a PA system set up on the courtyard which was incredibly loud in the room... there was no warning of this either. Staff were very helpful even tough and the location and pool (although small and shallow) were both good.

Great location and the pool is a great amenity. Perfect for taking a break from city. We had 2 issues with the hotel. One, it claims to be smoke free and the guests below us smoked from 7am to 4am, leading to the second issue. The rooms are built around an inner “open” area which gives good light but you are looking face to face with neighbors. This creates a noise iss...

Located right in the center of Oaxaca city in an old colonial building, this place is loaded with atmosphere that has been augmented with a unique modern style of decor that makes it a fun place to stay. I was only there briefly (a short night pre-early morning flight) but enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, their ample communication with me prior to my arrival and ...

Quite good location and one hammock ends the list of pros. Hole in the wall to the next room so it seems like we are all together. The acoustics of the hotel makes street cacophony even worse. Kitchen can't be used, it's far from clean. Rooms are big but there is nothing in them. Bed, tiny table and your things all over the floor. No cleaning during a stay. We had to ...

I loved EVERYTHING about this hotel. The location is perfect for the city, close to the centre but quiet. Amazing value, especially the breakfast. I often didn't eat until dinner as there was so much food. Cereal/fruit/yoghurt/coffee and a different hot dish every day. If you didn't like the dish on offer the ladies would happily make you something else. Owner delightf...

The location was great, right next to the Zocalo and the cathedral. The staff was friendly, they provided us with a bunch of useful info. The lobby is quite charming but youn can hear people taking from your room. So to sleep, it was a bit noisy and the beds were not that comfortable.

Really enjoyed our stay here and would stay every time! The owner, Corinna, is so helpful and friendly and speaks Spanish German and english. She has made the accomodation really homey and comfortable but still rustic with hammocks and wooden balconies. Comfortable fan room. Next to beach and restaurants. Great value for money.

the owner was very helpful, he stayed back so we could check in as our bus got in at 2:30am. we were catching another overnight bus the day we checked out, when we got back at the end of the day to collect our bags he offered us an empty room to shower and freshen up before our bus trip. super friendly staff and a very close location to the surf

Within easy walking distance of all the sights and close to shops and restaurants, we spent 3 nights at this friendly, simple hotel. We had a small double room with en suite shower room on the upper floor looking down on the cental courtyard. The room was simply furnished and comfortable. The courtyard was a cool quiet place to sit and a basic breakfast of coffee and c...

I satyed just 3days....bet very very comfortable and safety. I had great time and relax in this hostel Although it is a six-bed room, there are two showers and toilets, and it is large and clean. also, It is safe becaus...

Everything was awesome, really enjoyed my stay, super friendly and helpful staff and was nice not being a loud hostel, good mix of ages and definately worth it. Its also easily walking distance to numerous lovely beaches, go there early on weekedays its lovely

first time after 8 years we stayed once again in oaxaca, which is really worth to stay. the hotel is not very near to the center, but near enough for a walk of 5-10 min. annoying is the road close to the hotel, where the buses and trucks climb up and load you with lot of pollution, but you can quickly change to smaller and not so polluted streets. the hotel itself is n...

The hotel complex is a series of chalets and large rooms arranged around lush gardens and pleasant though deserted swimming pool. The complex I guess was built in the 70's ??? And that was probably it's heyday! It's very dated although that become quite charming in the end and we extended from 6 to 8 nights, it's like a motel that time forgot but the rooms are large, w...

the hotel itself feels very cozy when you arrive - the courtyard is serene and the rooms in the back of the property provide an added level of coziness and serenity. we happened to stay in a corner room (117) facing the street, and as such we weren't exactly afforded full privacy. no matter - the real issue w/ the room was the broken faucet in the bathtub, which ha...

If you need a lot of English speaking support; this is not your hotel. However, if you like being surrounded by beautiful, loving Mexican families, then this is the place for you. Very nice and kind staff have very limited English speaking ability. That said - the rest of this is all good. My King room (#631) was on the top floor per my request. The 112 steps up w...

Good location, only a few min walk to the main square. But, we booked a private room with ensuite and the shower was rubbish and the bed was really uncomfortable. Also, there was a big gap above the door, which opened up to the hotel courtyard, so not very private. Staff were friendly. We have traveled a lot and dont mind basic hostels but this one could do with so...

I stayed here for four nights and enjoyed the location which was a ten minute walk from the centre. The garden area with caged birds was nice. The free wifi worked OK. I didn't eat at the location but the meals looked good. The staff were helpful. Outside was a nice coffee shop. My only criticism would be that the two people working there who I spoke to gave me prices ...

Lo Cosmico is a beautiful place, perfectly situated. We loved the rustic cabanas and the beach. Breakfast was wonderful and the setting was so relaxing. Take advantage of the local opportunity to go out snorkeling and watching whales, turtles and dolphins while you're there.

We stayed here for 5 night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are simple but very clean and stylish. They serve a delicious breakfast for just 65 pesos, too. You're very close to Chahue Bay (2 minutes walk) but also a 12-15 minute walk from downtown, and just a few minutes from some other great restaurants (including Konnichiwa Sushi). Roberto and Blanca run a...

The cabanas themselves are great - really clean and cute in a little cluster. Bar onsite is handy too. But.... Wifi very weak and not available in room (this is a problem most places in Mexico) Beach is only a 5 minute walk but it is a solid 10 - 15 minute walk to the Main Street in town where all the action is. Cabanas very isolated down a dirt road and although th...

The couple that own this hotel and live here and do it all, from checking you in, to cleaning the rooms. This is their home and they make you feel apart of that. They are a wealth of into on what to do, how to get there, what to eat, where to shop.... If your looking for a party hostel, this isn't the place to stay. If you want to go out and party and come back to a pl...

15 minute walk to the nicest, clean sandy beach you will find anywhere. Due to waves and undertows swimming here is recommended only for the experienced, atleast on those windy days we experienced. Old town on the waterfront is 5 min walk downhill where you'll find the usual multitude of handicrafts and good choice of Mexican Restaurants. Good value staying at this ho...

Decent hotel for a few nights stay. Very simple breakfast, not worth waking up for if you enjoy sleeping in but great fresh orange juice. Very basic hotel, but nice staff although a bit pushy about selling me tours. The wifi was not very strong, and I think it's a nicer and possibly safer area more north of the zocalo.

It was great, lovely view on top of the hill. Yoga class was really nice. Didn't have food so cannot comment. Would stay there again but as I was travelling solo it was a bit more expensive than I would have liked. Would have been great for a couple.

Beautiful old hotel in the centre of Oaxaca, very comfortable stay with friendly and helpful staff who accommodated me having to change my dates 3 or 4 times before arrival. They tried to overcharge me when I left but we sorted it out amicably in the end. Wifi could have been better but this was probably because of the ancient and very thick walls.

The last day, my flight was 3:30pm departure from Puerto Escondido Airport, therefore, I asked the receptionist about late Check-Out. She checked the room reservations and allowed me to use my room until 2:00pm with smiling. Of course, "Free of charges." The staffs are very friendly at this hotel.

We(2 adults and 2 grown children) enjoyed a lot the beach club: 2 swimming pool, a very nice bar, a restaurant and the beach. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a perfect place to relax; very few people around the swimming pool orat the beach. The beach club is reachable via a free shuttle or 5 minutes walking. There is another swimming pool in the hotel garden....

This lovely hotel sits up on a hill overlooking the mountain range and town of Oaxaca. Service was excellent in all departments. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and varied. I loved the shuttle service into town. I definitely would consider staying here again.

We really enjoyed our visit at this hotel. The entire staff were genuinely friendly and helpful during our stay and went out of their way to help us getting around Oaxaca. Gustavo our waiter spoke perfect English and gave us many recommendations and insights into the attractions and history of Oaxaca. The design and furnishings of the hotel are quite beautiful with ...

Absolutely perfect. We were hesitating between azul and casa oaxaca at first and we are so happy we picked hotel azul. Everything about it is way better and more sophisticated than casa oaxaca. Beautiful impeccable design, warm helpful and efficient staff, and great location (in the center but on a pretty quieter street than casa oaxaca). Staying at hotel azul made ...

Oaxaca is beautiful and this place is gorgeous , location is perfect near bars and markets, staff friendly helpful and lovely, accommodation fantastic rooms big bed huge & comfortable (it has a pool) we will come back to Oaxaca one day and we will be staying here

Loved the hotel. Quiet, beautiful rooms and lovely bathrooms. Close to the zocalo and markets. Breakfasts were amazing- fresh fruit, fresh juice, local bread selections and a choice of traditional Oaxacan cooked breakfasts. However we ended up paying USD150 per night (inc taxes), which is incredibly expensive especially for Oaxaca. You pay for western comfort, location...

The room Wasn’t ready when we checked in at 10 at night. There was no internet. They were nice but there was construction literally above our shower until after nine at night. I could hear the workers as I tried to use the bathroom! Location is fabulous but it wasn’t much better than a motel six.

We had an amazing stay at Nana Vida with our family of 5. The hotel is gorgeous, especially for the price. But the highlight for us was the staff. They took amazing care of us. One night we needed medical care for our youngest daughter and one of the staff spent over 2 hours finding a doctor, going with us to translate, and wheeling her down the street to the hospital ...

I did not like that they were not clear the places of reservation to eat, they sent to a place we arrived and there it was not, or they did not make reservation for what was not requered and you arrived, It was very annoying for my husban and I to move from one place to another without the correct information,
Luxury hotels in Oaxaca State

This was a strange stay. The location was good, near central area, but away from hustle and bustle. Almost none of the staff barely spoke any English, so the communication was difficult. Also, this was a busy weekend, when many other hotels were sold out, but this seemed like the only one that I was the only guest in the entire hotel. Breakfast was additional, so you d...
