Phnom Pénh hotels & places to stay

i have been to phnom penh many times. i have stayed with a few boutique hotels, international standard hotel in phnom penh. this is first time, i stay at dragonworld hotel. this is definately worth the money. this hotel provided the best facility and service, in phnom penh. a place with grand enterance. safe and sound. from food to entertainment and my business needs are extremely well taken care.

This hotel was recommended to me by a fellow traveller so I booked 4 nights at the Okay Boutique hotel in Phnom Penh. I was glad that I took his advice because this is a stylish and quirky hotel in a great location near to the heart of the old town and riverside. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Asia during my 4 month tour that are new buildings constructed and designed to look like old hotels, from a bygone era. I was astonished to learn that the Okay Hotel is relatively new but I would defy anyone to realise that. The architecture and internal finishing are quite astonishing and I felt that I was in an old colonial building full of marble and aged mahogany staircases. It has a superb top floor swimming pool and bar area with great views over the old city. The staff were welcoming and provided helpful advice and guidance. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Only gripe -I found the breakfast a little disappointing given the overall excellence of this hotel.

this place was half the price of the five star chain hotels in phnom penh, and i think it had a lot more substance and character, whilst maintaining the five star comfort and service. i was given a welcome drink and a cold towel at reception. service at check in and throughout my stay was outstanding. i especially appreciated the fact that they weren't snobbish like a lot of the larger five star hotels, but more genuine and down to earth, but still professional and always going out of their way to be helpful. most spoke very good english (not that i'd expect them all to, it's not an english speaking country after all) and were eager to have conversations with you - like most friendly cambodians. the breakfast was small but well done. some labels on the foods would have been helpful though, particularly on some of the more unfamiliar, exotic spreads. the pool area was very nice and well maintained - a great place to relax. the room was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. the bathroom opens onto the room, and is separated by a large mirror. cambodian handmade soap was provided which was a nice touch. there were plenty of power outlets, and the wi-fi was reliable and worked perfectly. as i booked a deluxe room, it was slightly bigger than the standard and had a door which opened onto a small courtyard area. location was very good - on a quiet street very close to the royal palace, sisowath quay, and the less touristy samdach sothearos blvd behind the riverside, with lots of good restaurants. you wouldn't want to stay somewhere that's right on the river as it can smell very bad, particularly at low tide - won't have that problem at the plantation though.

An apartment complex with a hotel in it, The Bridge Club is brand new so still in excellent condition. With 2 swimming pools, a gym, cable TV, high-speed WiFi, king-sized bed, free drinkable water, it really can't be beaten for the price in Phnom Penh. I stayed here 10 days and had a wonderful time. It's a short walk to the riverfront or Aeon Mall, but not in the heart of the bar district (but really, it's good to escape that craziness and have some peace). Oh, and the view from the room over the Mekong River is the BEST VIEW IN PHNOM PENH! Highly recommend.

Have stayed at several hotels in Phnom Penh over the years but this place is hard to beat. Location is just a few steps from the riverfront. Rooftop restaurant has the best view ever, and having breakfast looking out over the river with the sunrise was unforgettable. Staff very friendly. Room couldn't be faulted. Comfy bed, clean towels, and good blackout curtains. Will definitely stay here again.

The Aquarius was an oasis of calm in bustling Phnom Penh, just a newly opened hotel, still some work going on but it's out of the way of my room, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The highlight was the infinity rooftop pool which was gorgeous especially in the night time. The location is situated in the city’s’ main shopping and dining area at the street 240, with just a few minutes’ walk from Royal Palace, National Museum and Independence Monument. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. I will not be surprised if sooner it will become one of the famous hotel in Phnom Penh, definitely it's going to be a great hotel! Would certainly recommend this hotel.

We have lived in Phnom Penh for nearly 7 years now and enjoy being able to get away for some rest and relaxation. Our stay at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel was wonderful. We have stayed at their other Sokha Hotels in Seam Reap and Sihanoukville and really enjoyed them too. Therefore, it was an easy decision to choose staying at the Sokha in Phnom Penh. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with wonderfully comfortable rooms. We enjoyed many great meals in their various restaurants and also had room service. All the staff were very polite and enjoyed serving us. Our stay was fantastic and I would highly recommend this hotel. Furthermore, my husband and I will plan to stay as this beautiful resort again!

Perfect central location at the riverside and near the King's Palace in Phnom Penh. Brand new and contemporary design hotel. Fresh clean swimmingpool in the 11th floor with great view over Phnom Penh. Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. This was the perfect hotel in Phnom Penh to enjoy a cocktail at the roof top pool and be delighted by a fantastic sunset over new skyline of the city.

It was relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable. Internet acccess is available either in the lobby or in the room. Food service is well served at the restaurant with a variety of foods. Coffee corner provides tasty drink. The sky bar is a wonderful place on the top of the hotel with a fantastic view of the city. The gym, spa, sonar, and swing poll are well served and equipped. All staff are helpful and friendly. It would be strongly recommended that it is considered one of the top recommended hotels in Phnom Penh.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Sofitel is by far the best hotel in Phnom Penh. It is new, it is definitely a luxury hotel,and the rooms are spacious and exceptional well fitted out. The hotel also has a number of really good resturants.The hotel is also very well located and only minutes away from the river where the nightlife of Phnom Penh is with lots of bars and eating establishments. It is also very close to the casino. I will definitely not consider staying anywhere else in Phnom Penh.

Lovely modern interiors/exteriors but retaining a classical period charm with an indisputable French feel to the establishment. Rooms cater for longer term residents with kitchen/cooking facilities. Views sumptuous from balconies over Phnom Penh from a quiet and safe side street. Only minor quibble would be breakfast, lack of fruit varieties on offer (no mangos , papayas, bananas which are plentiful in Cambodia), and although attempting to cater for both Asians and Western tastes, the offering somehow didn't get it right either way as it was trying to please all tastes. Definitely a breakfast more geared up for European sensibilities - croissant, yoghurts, wheat cereal etc. Fried Rice and Egg noodles both disappointing. No evening restaurant service but plenty of choice in Phnom Penh and delivery to room feasible. Khmer staff extremely welcoming, courteous and friendly. Would stay again and recommend.

This hotel is my go to hotel in Phnom Penh. I have stayed in many high class hotels but this is the one that has the cleanest rooms and the most amazing staff. They will always accommodate your requests and are always making sure your stay is comfortable. It's not in the tourist area which is way better because you're not assaulted by tuk tuk and Moto drivers when you walk out the door but there are plenty of tuk tuks around to take. I recommend this hotel 100 percent.

While I don't think this hotel is a 4 star hotel by international standards, it was quite nice. I saw some reviews complaining about the cleanliness of the rooms but my room had no issues. Staff were very accommodating and kind. We arrived at 630a from the overnight bus coming from Siem Reap and since our room was available, the manager let us check in early so we could get a few hours of sleep and a shower. The rooftop pool isn't so much a pool, but more of a soaking area but the bar is quite nice. Drinks were good and strong, prices fair. Engaging with the bar staff increased quality of service. One gentleman especially was very kind, though I can't remember his name. He was very helpful in telling us about the area the hotel was located and helping us with our terrible pronunciation of a few Khmer words. The ground floor pool is quite nice-- very clean, towels provided and the atmosphere is great. Morning breakfast at the hotel was very sufficient. There were many options to choose from, but the later you go the more limited your options if food starts to run out. From what I saw, staff were on top of keeping things filled as best as possible. The iced lattes (an extra $2) were quite good as well. The location of this hotel is a bit far from most things. It is quite close to Tuol Sleng and the Russian Market (though we were never able to find the market) but is about a $4 tuktuk ride over to the river area and most of the nighttime happenings. The area around this hotel doesn't boast much in terms of local food options but Brooklyn Pizza (across the street) is quite good and fairly priced. There's also a Thai restaurant if you leave from the back exit that was very good and very cheap ($2.50 for two people). Overall, I'm very happy we booked this hotel. I'd say it's more of a 3 star hotel but the price is fair for what you get and the atmosphere is nice. We didn't partake in any spa services so I can't speak on the quality vs. price.

The Frangipani Villa Hotel in Phnom Penh is a really good location in the centre of the town with easy access to all sights. The staff is very friendly and will help at any question. I was really surprised as I booked the hotel shuttle just at night before our arrival only via short email (as it was stated as inclusive in the Agoda offer). It worked perfectly even with ~2 hours delay at our arrival. In front of the hotel are always Tuk Tuks standby you can hire to go to any of the sights. After sightseeing the nice cosy pool invites to have a relaxing swim or just to drink a nice cocktail at the Royal Roof Top Bar :-)

This is a lovely old colonial hotel that has amazing history linking back to the time of the Kemer Rouge. The hotels decor is very colonial & grand, the famous elephant bar is a must visit especially from 4-7pm when drinks are in the happy hour. We decided on our first night to eat at the very elegant Restaurant Le Royal which serves lovely khmer and french food. It appears very posh and a little stuffy at first glance but don't be put off as the food was amazing and the service was excellent , we really enjoyed it. We stayed in a State room which are on the ground floor with a balcony facing the swimming pool, they are lovely and spacious. In my opinion this is the best hotel in phnom penh , a true haven from chaos of outside. Would highly recommend .

We have stayed at a few of the high class hotels in Phnom Penh as we live here and stay at the local hotels now and then for a get-a-way. This one is my favorite for a few reasons. The suites make you feel like you have a home away from home. The balcony is perfect for morning breezes off the river. The open floor plan does not allow you to feel that you are in a typical hotel but more like a tropical resort. Welcome juice, along with welcome cocktail made our first few hours excellent. The weight room has all the most modern equipment and the locker room was lovely. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant was bright and lovely with views of the river. I love the openness of the lobby giving it a tropical feel. The new cafe has a bookshop/coffee shop feel and was very comfortable with great books to check out for your stay. The only downfall was the pool. It was crowded and not very attractive. ALso the water was very warm so it was not refreshing. But overall, I will choose this resort over the others in Phnom Penh for our next getaway

I have stayed at many of the hotels in Phnom Penh, including all of the big name hotels. A few years ago I stayed in the White Mansion Boutique Hotel, and I decided to never stay in any other hotel in Phnom Penh ever again. The White Mansion Hotel is the best in PP, and it is the little touches they add to your stay that make it such a memorable experience such as the essential oil infused towels, scent diffuser in the rooms, turn down service, warm and wonderful staff, welcome drink and cold towel, beautiful serene pool, and the best breakfast you can get in SE Asia at the in-house Eric Kaiser bakery. I cannot day enough good things about the breakfast there!!! White Mansion has my loyalty for life.

We, from the Philippine Association of Real Estate boards, attended the ARENA CONVENTION at Sofitel Phnom Penh. We booked our stay in Anik Hotel just besides Sofitel, walking distance from Sofitel, accessible to Mall, restaurants... the staff are ver accommodating, always smiling, and helpful in crossing the streets and looking for tuktuk for us... I was given an upgraded accommodation to my surprise, one bedroom suite by myself.. tried their 90 minute luxurious massage, and got best massage 💆‍♀️ .. really got awesome some staying in the Anik Hotel

We booked our stay here for a brief respite from the city where we work, without having to leave the city. We enjoyed the greenery and the garden feel to the outside space. The pool is very nice even though it's located in front of the hotel, by the main entrance. The artwork throughout the building is tasteful and pleasing. The breakfast buffet is quite nice and offers a wide variety of choices. The rooms are very nice, the bed comfortable. I especially liked the shower - the water comes out of the ceiling! It's like a waterfall. There are sufficient electrical outlets throughout the room. The WiFi was good, but sometimes faded, depending on where we were in the room, and which device we were using. We would've appreciated more places to put luggage and our stuff (like tables or luggage stands). There could've also been more places to hang wet towels and clothes. But, for a small hotel in Phnom Penh, this place is above average for the price range of their rooms. We will definitely consider staying here again, and would not have any reservations in recommending this hotel to anyone.

The Sunway is a very attractive hotel in an ideal location, especially if you need to do have any contact with the US Embassy or USAID. The hotel is also close to UNICEF and a short distance from the river and north bridge leading out of the city. The hotel is right next to Wat Phnom, which is an historical land mark and the site where the city was founded, hence the name Phnom Penh. Dining at the main dining room is excellent albeit a bit on the expensive side ($21 for the evening buffet). Happy hour features a second drink free between 5 and 7 PM. Wireless Internet access was reasonable and very fast. Rates are a bit high at this hotel but still well within reason for a 4-star hotel.

We live right in the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. Usually, to get away from the concrete jungle we would stay in sleepy Kep province. However, we only had one day to get away and we didn't want to spend or time away travelling, so we opted to stay somewhere close by. This hotel is close enough to the city that it is easily accessible, but it's also far enough away that we felt we were 'away' from the city. It was a great place to relax and recharge. The food here is some of the best I've eaten and the rooms were very large and clean. We stayed in the courtyard suite, The bathroom was luxurious and relaxing and we really liked the courtyard with sunbed. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
